Prachtige locatie en kamers. Heerlijk gezeten op het binnenplein voor de high tea. Ter attentie voor mijn vriend’s verjaardag, werden we nog voorzien van een kaartje en ballonnen. Erg leuk! Ik kom zeker nog een keer terug.

On a week-long cycling tour of the country this was just a 1-night stay for us. We arrived late afternoon to a very friendly welcome and a beer in the fabulous courtyard, We really like being able to store our bikes in the Chapel which was very secure. Location is perfect as it is very quiet but close to the city center. Staff were very friendly and I would definitely recommend it.

Our room was pretty dark - not a major issue but probably worth checking when you check-in.

Alles maar vooral de schitterende binnentuin. We waande ons in het buitenland. En het geweldige personeel. Dikke pluim voor Amber!

Het is wel gehorig. Niet geluiden van buiten maar de bovenburen bv. Alles is van hout dus heel begrijpelijk maar wel jammer.

The accommodation was very central to the town centre and we were easily able to walk around this beautiful city. The accommodation was very comfortable and clean.

I would have liked better lighting.

The courtyard is absolutely lovely. The decor in the rooms and the facility itself what didn't you like? Nothing l was wonderful. The staff is exemplary.

L’emplacement est vraiment idéal et le bâtiment historique est magnifique.

L’isolation phonique avec la chambre du dessus est vraiment très mauvaise. Les bruits de plancher et les bruits de canalisation d’eau (douche, toilettes, …) sont très présents et m’ont littéralement empêché de dormir l’unique nuit de mon séjour.

Underbart litet hotell, supermysigt men härlig inredning. Rummet kändes väldigt lyxigt. Både dusch och bad, trevlig utsikt. Verkligen supermysigt ställe. Kommer jag tillbaka till Gouda bor jag där igen.

Frukosten var god men kunde funnits lite mer. De var trots allt rätt dyr.

We stayed 5 nights in the Family Suite after extensive research and, unfortunately, the website photos were misleading regarding the room layout. Pictures shown on website of a bed, two more beds, a tub and a small vanity. A picture of shower tiles or one of soap. The suite is essentially one room except for the toilet area. What the website does not clearly show is that the shower and vanity are in the same very small, space only a few feet apart. Using the shower soaks the vanity area and floor, making it impossible for another person to use the sink at the same time. For the high price of this room, the design was extremely impractical. Drawers and cabinets are nonexistent except for a very small desk with a tall stool which is very uncomfortable. No drawers, cabinets or horizontal surfaces to unpack luggage for a 5 day stay. Safety was another concern. The room contains a steep, twisting staircase leading to the upstairs beds, and both the room and 4th-floor hallway had extremely dim lighting. The hallway also had several steep steps that were poorly lit and difficult to see. As a Registered Nurse, I found the lighting and fall-risk issues concerning. (The owner has referred to the lighting as, “cozy,” in previous responses online. Heat: Cold in room. Temp can only be adjusted up to 22 degrees. Front desk informed and said nothing they could be done. Breakfast room: Staff lovely. Food was self serve for most things including coffee. Hardboiled eggs were usually cold. There is a person on alternate days to prepare something hot. Courtyard is lovely and beautiful. I wish we could have sat outside but it was so incredibly windy and cold that it prevented us from enjoying it for very long. One important detail that should be disclosed more clearly: the parking lot is located about half a mile from the hotel. This was especially difficult because my husband was having physical difficulties during our stay, and the long walk in cold, windy weather became an added challenge.

We had such an incredibly lovely overnight stay at WSHS! From the moment we arrived, everything was just perfect. The dinner was delicious and carefully prepared, the overnight stay itself was comfortable and beautifully arranged, and the breakfast was extensive and full of flavor. In addition, the location is absolutely stunning – a beautiful setting that immediately creates a relaxing atmosphere. Altogether, it made for a complete and perfectly organized stay. We are extremely satisfied and will definitely be coming back!

Fix the thermostat... we were cold(stayed in January and outside was -3) we couldn't adjust temp and had to ask for extra duvets. The room (4) was up a very twisty narrow stair.. needs hand rail. Cozy room with many dim lights bulbs...but very dark, needs a main light which lights the room. The sink was in the bedroom, with separate toilet(small) and serrated shower. The restaurant was not open so we had to go out for dinner. A beautifully decorated hotel with plenty of ambiance.

This hotel is perfectly located in the historic center of Gouda. It is architecturally beautiful and interesting. Our room (for a family of 3) was roomy and comfortable despite the awkward split between the shower/sink area and the toilet area. However it felt more like the historic heritage hotels you can find in Europe (such as paradores) instead of a R&C. The service was straightforward and standard but not at the level we’d expect from a 5* place. There were few luxury amenities. Had i expected a 4* hotel at an equivalent rate I would be very pleased.

De locatie is midden in het centrum van Gouda. Het is een mooi historisch pand, werkelijk prachtig. Complimenten aan de housekeeping en schoonmakers, alles was echt netjes en superschoon.

De prijs was echt veel te hoog en niet in balans. We betaalden maar liefst 750 euro voor 2 kamers voor 1 nachtje, zonder dat er iets bij zat. De communicatie ging ook moeizaam omdat ze bij alles extra geld wilden zien. Bij elke vraag werd een prijslijst via whatsapp meegestuurd. Dat geeft het ipv een historisch boetiek vibe een veel te commercieel karakter.

We were two nights with a family of 4 in the family suite. I also invited my mother and in laws for one night in a deluxe room and junior suite. Everyone was overwhelmed by how nice this hotel in Gouda is, a very big recommendation

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel . Everything was absolutely perfect. The place is truly charming, and the staff were incredibly attentive throughout my visit. The restaurant was an absolute delight. A special mention to the front office team, who were exceptionally welcoming.

Amazing and historical property with a luxurious ambiance, perfect location in the center of Gouda, very nice staff. I fully recommend this hotel. Tip: while booking, use the option to also book a parking spot (at the nearest parking lot), because the nearest parking lot is not close and also very busy.

Definitely not worth the price! On the first evening, there was a wedding on the ground floor. Loud music and voice until late at night. Really not what you are looking for when you book a "Relais et Chateau". The hotel could have informed the customers upfront offering them the possibility to chose another option. Persistant smel of mouse pee in the room, sqeaking bed, dust bunnies on the floor, no intimacy in the bathroom as this is directly in front of the bed in open space: not the greatest experience, and this was a luxury room! The website indicates a seating area in the luxury rooms, this was not the case in our room. The choice at the breakfast was extremely limited, honestly very far from any standard breakfast buffet in any hotel. In addition, we had to wait 40+ minutes to get the only plate we have ordered from the kitchen for breakfast and, 3 minutes after being served, were told that we had to hurry as the breakfast would close soon. All in all, the experience was really very far from being worth the price! Disappointing...

Rooms are noisy and dark. Breakfast is good, but a somewhat overdone. We wanted to have lunch, but that was not possible.

The Manager was very helpful and accommodating.

The decoration is overdone and baroque, like a candy box. The staff forgot to empty a waste bin in my room. Corridors are a maze with lots of steps and half levels.

Lovely large, comfortable room. Beautiful surroundings and location. Breakfast was presented in a really appealing way, with multiple options, both cooked or chilled. Cooked options were separately ordered. The outdoor area was really attractively decorated, inviting and luxurious. We were able to store our touring bikes safely and securely, a great bonus.

Booking in the restaurant seemed overly complicated, and 3 or 4 course menus being the only option due to the nature of the fine dine experience.
