Zero Box Lodge Coimbra

Fantastic stay here. Such a great location, able to walk to all the major sites of Coimbra. Very good AC to cool off from the hot summer days. Very comfortable bed and very clean room and private bathroom. I would come back in a heartbeat, a unique experience being in the Box! Also very easy to park nearby in parking lots <10 minute walk just over the bridge.

Not really a bad thing - The concept of the box is very unique and I enjoyed it but it was a little disorienting (as you would expect!) not having any natural light - makes for a great sleep!

Everything was perfect. I loved the novel concept and architecture of the hotel. It was a new experience.

The rooms do not have windows like ordinary hotel rooms, but it didn't bother me at all. The new experience and concept justify it, in my opinion.

Das Personal der ganzen Unterkunft war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Es war alles sauber und das Bett war sehr bequem.

Für einen längeren Aufenthalt fanden wir das Zimmer sehr klein, aber für eine Nacht voll ok.

O principal ponto negativo da estadia foi a cama. O colchão apresentava uma deformidade bastante perceptível, ficando mais fundo no centro. Isso fazia com que o corpo afundasse para o meio durante a noite e tornava o sono bastante desconfortável. Acredito que a substituição do colchão faria uma diferença significativa na qualidade da estadia.

Box rooms are just like regular rooms except no window. Best, comfiest sleep i had in a long time. Amazing, helpful and kind staff. A fun place with a fun restaurant in the building.

Il silenzio che si crea qua dentro è incredibile, molta privacy e bagni ottimi, letto comodissimo! Era da tanto che non dormivo in un letto così comodo.

Per quanto possa essere piacevole tutto l’ambiente, il legno, la privacy, il minimalismo, il prezzo è eccessivo… voglio dire allo stesso prezzo potrei prendere una stanza d’hotel ad un piano alto molto luminosa, è vero non è la stessa cosa, ma non ripagherei così tanto solo per l’esperienza minimalista nonostante mi sia trovato molto bene.

Mon expérience au Zéro Box Lodge a été vraiment positive. Le concept innovant de la “box” est génial et constitue la véritable force de cet établissement. J’ai particulièrement apprécié la qualité du sommeil offerte par l’obscurité quasi totale de la chambre, sans fenêtre : un vrai plus pour qui cherche un repos profond et réparateur. L’accueil a été très chaleureux et sympathique, notamment grâce à Rudy qui s’est montré attentionné. C’est un petit détail qui change tout ! Je dois aussi mentionner la bière fraîche offerte à l’arrivée, une attention agréable qui crée une atmosphère accueillante dès le départ. Les équipements de la chambre sont vraiment de qualité. Les douches sont spacieuses et agréables, et la climatisation fonctionne parfaitement c’est très appréciable, surtout pendant les journées chaudes. En résumé, un séjour vraiment satisfaisant dans un lieu original. Je recommande le Zéro Box Lodge vous ne serez certainement pas déçu par votre expérience !

Le lit produit du bruit désagréable à chaque mouvement – c’est un point qui mériterait d’être amélioré pour éviter de déranger lors des changements de position pendant la nuit. Le petit-déjeuner était bon et varié, mais je trouve le prix un peu élevé. L’offre pourrait être enrichie en produits salés pour plus de variété et des jus frais comme un jus d’orange seraient vraiment appréciables pour compléter le service.

Adorei a estadia! Tudo esteve impecável, desde o conforto da cama à limpeza do quarto. O ambiente é muito tranquilo e silencioso, o que tornou a experiência ainda mais agradável. Sem dúvida, um dos quartos com melhor relação qualidade-preço onde já fiquei hospedada. A localização é excelente, numa das melhores zonas da cidade, e ainda tem um restaurante incrível mesmo ao lado. Uma experiência que recomendo sem hesitar!

The room was super clean and it smelled freshness! This was a pleasant surprise considering it is actually a container without windows. The bathroom was spacious and the towels were very clean. The location is great! Just 5' walking to the city center and exactly opposite the river! Two bus stations close to it.

Unusual concept! The room was very comfortable with a wonderful smell of wood. There is a small window by the door. Totally quiet, good A/C if required, slept very well! Great shower. Restaurant and bar on the top floor is very good.

I prefer a bigger window. Perhaps that be changed to make an optional window similar to existing small window but bigger?

Very unique type of rooms, really enjoyed it, comfortable, spaceful and clean.

La cama y la comodidad de la habitación, descanso total,muy limpio nos cambiaron todos los días las sábanas y las toallas, y una limpieza impoluta, raro ves tanto comodidad y limpieza, si quieres desconectar es el mejor sitio sin tele ,sin ventanas sin ruido y muy cómodo. Hemos estado una semana entera y hemos descansado muy bien.

La ubicación es difícil encontrar sitio de aparcamiento, los parking de al rededor se pagan. El desayuno muy escaso, muy buena calidad pero para estar una semana y comer todos los días lo mismo es pesado, cruasán, jamón cocido, chorizo, queso en lonchas, tomate cortado en dados, huevos hervidos, dos pastelitos, fruta, yogur y crepes que molan que te lo haces tú mismo, pero comer esto toda la semana cansa mucho deberían de variar con una tortilla francesa o algo más ...

My favourite part of the hotel was the funkiness of the decor and the rooms, very unique and wonderful. The receptionist “rudy” I think you called him, tall dude with curly hair; he was absolutely wonderful and very kind, very nice and very professional. He was amazing. The restaurant in the hotel was also very good and the staff were amazing as well. The rooms were very cosy and lovely, very good soundproofing, small but spacious. The hotel is right in front of a boat extrusion which is very handy.

The concept is interesting and it was good value for money. The hotel is well-located right on the banks of the Mondego River, although there are no grocery stores nearby. However, the area is well-served by restaurants. It was a good option to explore Coimbra's downtown.

The shower drain was clogged and the water didn't drain easily. The bed is low, with the mattress practically 10cm off the floor. The room would need some maintenance.

De manhã, é um pouco estranho não ter uma janela, mas a noite torna-se mais tranquila, sim.

Tutto perfetto. Un'esperienza diversa dal solito che ci è piaciuta tantissimo: buio completo in stanza e silenzio, veramente rilassante. I ragazzi alla reception sono gentilissimi e simpaticissimi, vengono anche offerte due birre fresche di benvenuto al check in. C è la possibilità di lasciare i bagagli al check out gratuitamente.

La meilleure expérience de logement au Portugal, à notre avis. Absolument rien à redire. Personnel gentil et chaleureux, déjeuner copieux, chambre confortable et très propre. Très (très) bien situé. Expérience unique dans une ambiance fabuleuse. Un must! Rapport qualité-prix imbattable.

Ubicación, silencio en las habitaciones, fácil aparcamiento y barato. Lo tiene todo muy recomendado.

El Zero Box es una grata sorpresa y una experiencia realmente agradable. Las habitaciones son muy confortables, camas muy cómodas y un baño excelente. Se descansa tremendamente bien después de pasar todo el día por la ciudad. El restaurante/bar de la última planta es también una gran aportación para disfrutar de un cocktel o bebida antes de ir a dormir. El personal del hotel es amabilísimo y siempre dispuesto para lo que se precise.

Не хватает воздуха, варианты - либо использовать кондиционер всю ночь (а от этого дует довольно сильно), либо - открывать окно в общее пространство (но таким образом свет светит в глаза). Возможно какой-то вентилятор помог бы)

C'est un concept inhabituel: une chambre dans un cube en bois. Mais tout le confort y est. La literie est bonne, la salle d'eau spacieuse, les savons (mains, douche, shampoing) de bonne qualité. Il y a la climatisation, l'air est bon grâce au bois. ET c'est calme ! Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié. On peut se faire des crèpes ou des pancakes. Parfait pour un très court séjour d'une à trois nuits.

L'emplacement, l'accueil très sympathique, la cabine de douche très spacieuse.

Un lit assez bas à cause du plafond assez bas.

Excelente localização, atendimento simpático, reforçado ainda com a gentileza da oferta com a entrega do cartão. Quanto ao conforto atendendo à sua singularidade estrutural é aceitável que só possa ser quanto baste.

A questão de não dar pontuação máxima à casa de banho não é por haver defeito, longe disso, mas sim pela opção cada vez mais recorrente dos manípulos do duche, com quais, ensaboado, é extremamente difícil de os regular, o que não o fazendo torna-se um desperdício de água. No geral é motivador para lá voltar e recomendo a amigos.

The vibe of the room was amazing. There was a surprising amount of storage especially in the light of the size of the room. The staff was very helpful. The room was comfortable, clean and overall very good. But the absolute cherry on top was the location. We were about 5 minutes away from the main street. I was also a bit worried because I am claustrophobic and the site said it didn't have any windows but I felt completely good.

The lights were maybe a bit too dim.

Établissement très bien placé et avec un personnel extrêmement sympathique.

Il y avait un problème pour moi car comme les chambres n'ont pas de fenêtre on est obligé de mettre la clim (air conditioning) sinon l'air devient très pénible. Et malheureusement je n'aime pas du tout la clim! J'essayais donc de maintenir la porte ouverte, et surtout de rester dans la chambre le moins longtemps possible quand je ne dormais pas.

La ubicación es perfecta, sobre todo si vas en coche. Coimbra es complicada para moverte en coche, si no eres local. Este hotel está en la orilla del río, y es fácil de acceder por carretera. Las habitaciones son pequeñas y sin ventanas, pero están muy bien acondicionadas. Además, tienen un bar- restaurante en la planta superior muy agradable. Fue mi primera vez en este tipo de alojamientos sin ventanas, pero la verdad es que repetiré. En mi caso, yo solo estoy en la habitación el tiempo justo para dormir y ducharme. Así que no me importa no tener vistas en mi habitación

Yo soy bajito y no me importó mucho, pero creo que las habitaciones no tienen mucha altura. Si eres una persona de elevada estatura, quizá el tamaño y la altura de la habitación serán insuficientes.

Super accueil ! Le personnel est sympathique et chaleureux. Le petit déjeuner était délicieux et très varié. L’emplacement est parfait. L’expérience dans les « box » est très innovant et chouette. La chambre était propre, bien équipée (produits d’hygiène et climatisation) et très bien isolée autant en terme de sons que de bruit. Pour finir, le restaurant italien à l’étage propose une belle carte.

The staff, especially Rudy, Margarita, and Inês, were fluent, friendly, and informative. Made the stay worth it. The place is just down the block from the center of town. The cozy boxes were a new thing for me, but turned out to be a cool respite from the summer heat and crowds. Will definitely recommend this place to visitors once I reside in Coimbra.

Breakfast felt rushed by staff when showing up in last 30 minutes of (self)service. I understand they want to be done, but guests ought to be comfortable taking their meal throughout the posted times.

Es befindet sich in einem sehr schönen Gebäude und das Konzept ist definitiv etwas Besonderes. Die Lage ist super. Das Restaurant hat einen tollen, modernen Vibe, die Mitarbeiter waren freundlich und das Frühstück hat uns ebenfalls gut gefallen. Alles war sauber und gepflegt und man bekommt ein Bier als Welcome-Drink!

Leider war die Übernachtung für mich persönlich keine gute Erfahrung. Ich hatte in der Box das Gefühl, nicht genügend Luft zu bekommen, und habe dadurch sogar eine Panikattacke bekommen. Ich hatte ständig Angst, dass nicht genug Sauerstoff in die Box gelangt. Etwas besser wurde es, wenn die Badezimmertür offen blieb, da von dort offenbar eine Art Lüftung kam. Mit eingeschalteter Klimaanlage zu schlafen kam für mich nicht infrage. Auch aus Sicherheits- bzw. Brandschutzsicht hatte ich persönlich kein gutes Gefühl. Durch die geschlossene Box-Bauweise fühlte ich mich eingeengt und fragte mich im Notfall, wie schnell man die Unterkunft verlassen könnte, da die Tür doch sehr schwer auf und zu ging. Mir ist bewusst, dass viele Gäste damit wahrscheinlich kein Problem haben. Für mich persönlich war diese Art der Unterkunft jedoch nichts, und ich würde sie deshalb nicht noch einmal buchen.

Das einzigartige Erlebnis in einem Zimmer, ohne Fenster zu schlafen. Wobei es ein kleines Fenster zum kippen ins Treppenhaus gab, wahrscheinlich, wenn man dann doch Platzangst bekommt, dass man rausschauen kann.

Entao.... A experiência "box" não foi legalmpara meu esposo que tem.renite. estar tudo fechado, apesar da limpeza aparente, o deixou em.crise. Fora isso. Tudo perfeito.

Apesar de gostar do conceito, do espaço ser agradável e limpo e de o staff ser extremamente prestável e simpático, e de achar os quartos confortáveis, achei o preço bastante elevado para o que é. No final de contas, estamos a falar de dormir numa caixa sem janelas.
