Tolle Lage mitten in Coimbra mit einer sehr originellen Ausstattung.

Die Dachterrasse war leider nicht zugänglich. Wir hatten ein Zimmer nach „hinten“ mit Blick auf eine Wand und würden daher bei der Buchung ein Zimmer nach „vorne“, zum Platz empfehlen.

L'hotel è sulla piazza principale all'inizio della zona pedonale, praticamente perfetto. Le camere sono tutte curate nel minimo dettaglio. Particolare il bagno disposto all'ingresso ma bellissimo. Letto comodissimo con possibilità di scelta del cuscino (bellissimo). Colazione molto buona nel bar sul roof-top. Il roof-top è a disposizione durante la giornata con snack e bevande gratuite.

This place is just "wow", from the washroom to the bedroom. The location is overlooking a beautiful square and the river, right in the heart of everything and close to some amazing restaurants. I was able to walk everywhere to explore this charming city.

If they remodel they should replace the carpet with natural floors :) That being said, I would certainly come back regardless!

Location is excellent. Room was beautiful, interesting, functional, comfortable, and plenty large. 5th floor lounge was excellent. Coffee, tea, and breakfast were a nice touch.

El desayuno podría ser más variado, pero estaba bien. La hora del check out es a las 11h, nos venía bien pero un poco mas tarde estaría algo mejor.

Meraviglioso boutique hotel ispirato alla biblioteca joanina....mai visto stanze così belle ispirate ai libri della biblioteca! Dai bagni al lavandino in marmo a forma di libro, stupendi! E poi arredi molto moderni con televisore integrato nello specchio! Colazione ottima all'ultimo piano con vista sulla città, posizione ottima, veramente centrale, consigliatissimo!

The lounge, including the breakfast, was very good. The staff quality was high, and while the hotel is quite lightly staffed the service quality was entirely satisfactory. I thought the way that a mock-library is used as a key design element in the rooms and common parts was nice, and an elegant reference to the Biblioteca Joanina, which is Coimbra's architectural jewel.

It is nice having a shower or using the lavatory surrounded by a mock library. Guests of a more retiring disposition, sharing a double room, might prefer it if the shower and loo had opaque doors, rather than being surrounded by see-through glass. The idea of putting a TV INTO the bedroom mirror as a kind of head-up display is certainly interesting and quirky and it is is a quite impressive engineering feat, but the TV does not work well at all times. At the end of two days we had finally worked out how our room lights worked. We are at least of average intelligence. Maybe we should have stayed for a week, and have put our eventual understanding of the lighting system to good effect.

No dispone de una recepción como tal… le falta un poco de espacio de lobby y que en el espacio de comedor/terraza se pueda tomar alguna copa.

El hotel supera las expectativas. Habitaciones amplias, diseñadas siguiendo la temática de la biblioteca Joanina de la Universidad de Coimbra. Todo es confortable y amplio, bien acabado. A pesar de que las imágenes pueden llevar a la idea de que todo es un pastiche, realmente es de una calidad elevada, con auténticos libros grabados en mármol de diferentes tipos, suelos confortables. Atención al los mosaicos de la recepción, merecen ser admirados. Sin ser mi estilo en decoración, no puedo decir más que se merece un 10.

No dispone de parking, pero remiten a los aparcamientos cercanos, alguno gratuito.

De airco deed het niet en werd ook niet gemaakt nadat ik het bij de receptioniste had gemeld.

Een mooi hotel op een goede locatie. Vriendelijk personeel. De kamers zijn echt heel mooi en voorzien van alle gemakken en voelden echt heel fijn aan. Ook de persoonlijke welkomst boodschap op de kamer incl drankje en koekjes was voortreffelijk. Het was fijn om daar te zijn.

Bellissimo hotel dedicato alla biblioteca Ioannina. La stanza era grande affacciata sulla piazza con doccia e bagno separati. Letto grande e comodo. L"armadio è un po' piccolino. Ottima la colazione. Tutto il personale è gentile e pronto a soddisfare ogni richiesta.

We just returned from a two night stay in Coimbra with CBR Boutique Hotel, and I truly loved this hotel. We stayed in room six which is on the second floor, our room overlooked the busy Largo da Portagem (the square) and the Mondrego River. We arrived a little before check in, so we were able to check our luggage with the staff and were encouraged to explore for a bit. We were excited to check out our room, and found so many small comforts. We loved the local beers provided and cute little cookies with a welcome note. The room had a small fridge, coffee maker, built-in TV, closet, hair dryer, firm and soft pillows, and toiletries. WiFi and TV are available, which is also nice. Our view was beautiful, I highly recommend just watching the square come to life at various points through the day. We learned that in Portugal, you need to put your key in a holder by the door to use the electricity. (That was a new one for us haha). The library theme is so gorgeous, I just kept finding myself looking at the book titles around the room. The shower and toilet do have glass doors, but they do have privacy tints/designs. As a couple we had no issues with it, and it was truly gorgeous. My only feedback for travelers, were to understand that this location can/will be loud. It is right on the Main Street, so booking here means you know that! We enjoyed a festa (festival) across the bridge while we were staying, so it was pretty loud until midnight. Nothing a little white noise and jet lag on night one couldn't fix (and I am a person that needs it to be pretty quiet). The second night we roamed until that time, so it was not disruptive to us. The other thing we found was the bed was FIRM, but in comparing that to another hotel in the country, it was pretty much the same. The common spaces are beautiful, we enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (8am-11am) both mornings as well as their Tea hour (3:00pm-midnight) both days. There are small bistro tables to enjoy off the Breakfast/Tea room which are adorable and provide a beautiful view of the square and bridge. The rooftop is a lovely place to catch sunset, and enjoy a coffee. The staff were helpful, friendly, and so accommodating. We asked for recommendations, asked a few questions, and worked to provide them documentation to get our tax exempt for medical appointments. They were all friendly and welcoming! We are traveling back in a few months, and will likely stay at this ADULTS ONLY small boutique hotel. We truly enjoyed it and highly recommend! Obrigada CBR Boutique Hotel, you made Coimbra magical!

Das Frühstück war sehr gut (Buffet). Es wurde im obersten Stock serviert, von wo man eine schöne Aussicht hat. Kaffee, Kuchen, Wasser sind den ganzen Tag über im Frühstücksraum gratis verfügbar. Eine darüber liegende Dachterrasse hat bequeme Sessel und bietet ebenfalls einen tollen Rundumblick. Die Lage ist sehr zentral, eine Bushaltestelle ist ganz in der Nähe, ebenfalls viele Restaurants.

Best in Coimbra for high end accommodations. We stayed four nights in Room 14 with marvelous front row views of the Largo da Portagem and Mondrego river from our window or one floor up on the breakfast terrace The staff is super helpful I can’t wait to see their renovated restaurant space next door in this historic building My greatest surprise was watching the square come alive in the morning I could write a book about just that A very good location for flat walking or climbing to the Library

The rooms were very unique and themed. The evening tea and morning breakfast were in a fantastic breakfast room on the roof. The location was great. The views of the river from the room were fantastic.

The door to the restroom was a glass door. This was weird. This was less an issue for my wife and I, but for my adult kids, this was not their favorite part of the stay.

Breakfast is exceptionnally good!

The room was comfortable, quiet and unique with its layout and "faux" book wall decor. The fifth floor lounge and roof top area were great as was the breakfast there. The staff was friendly and helpful and spoke English well.

The location was difficult for loading and unloading luggage. For loading, we managed to temporarily park right outside but apparently we violated local ordinance as area is reserved for pedestrians during most of the day. Arrival staff did not mention ordinance and nothing seem to become of it. However, staff at departure mentioned the ordinance and that is was not a good idea to bring car to front of hotel. The alternatives were not good as parking was across the river and the other possible loading area was along busy street. Very stressful. Location, however, was certainly good for restaurants, river sites, and the University.

Beautiful property in the best location in Coimbra. Very tastefully decorated with high modern technology and high class fittings. Breakfast was excellent, everything extremely fresh.

I would advise paying a bit extra for a river view room as the rooms at the back are a little dark.

We loved the location-an easy cab ride from Coimbra B train station and the rooms were absolutely beautiful! We loved the library theme, the beautiful mosaic tiles in the breakfast room and the lobby/entry way and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooftop bar was also lovely.

Location on very loud plaza...partying to 5am.

Location was great - close to shopping, restaurants, etc. Hotel was updated to be very modern, almost to a fault. Bed was comfortable. Rain shower was great.

Some of the hi-tech upgrades were not so friendly. A/C, Heat. The TV remote. And some of bathroom stuff. For example, the bathroom closet had no knobs. Also, if you like privacy in the bathroom, our room was not for you. Clear glass between the shower and toilet. Clear glass between the bathroom and the rest of the hotel room.

The staff, the breakfast, the afternoon coffee were excellent.

The angled large led light in room 15 near the window was flickering, the metal knobs controlling the lights and shutters were very confusing because icons were too small. Also the shower glass door prevented the shower from drying out because it couldnt be left open and difficult to lay mat for floor near glass door.
