Great location, comfortable bed!

The casita cannot be rated on the same basis as the main house, which we understand is highly rated for good reason

Stunning decoration, everything you need, clean and comfortable

A lot of noise from the neighbours early in the morning - enough roosters to wake the dead

Excellent amenities, clean, pool was amazing. Karin was an amazing host and very attentive. Will definitely recommend it to anyone!

Extremely thoughtfully and tastefully set up with everything we needed. Despite the small size of the Casita we felt extremely comfortable, even with our dog.

No pan in the kitchen (which had everything else). Just a note that there are two units on the property - the main house and the casita. Our fellow guests and their dogs were great.

We were there for a quick overnight stay. The location was particularly convenient for our needs.

The very limited kitchenette made food preparation a bit inconvenient.

Thìs house is so charming, and the fact that it is just opposite to the Church for all the races we do is great. The Garden is Lovely, and we love the stoep. We love the little pool with the windmill. After the races, it's lovely to cool off. It's so peaceful and relaxing. Love the house layout how they mixed the old with new,it was done with great taste.

What's not to like about this house .It is a gem in De Rust.

Nice new & clean. Nice 'tiny house' lay -out. Everything up to two mosquito repellents. Outside area with windmill & dam/pool would have great atmosphere in the summer months.

We'd passed through De Rust previously and wanted to stay in this pleasant little town on the highway with friends. We were thrilled to find such a stylish and comfortable house in this location. The historic house was beautifully refinished and the decorator had an amazing sense of style--every room was comfortable and simply gorgeous.

There was nothing not to like. The furnishings were comfortable and inviting. The kitchen, bath and bedrooms were well appointed. For four people, the single bathroom was quite large and easily accessible so that wasn't even an issue. Would love to come back in the summer to really enjoy the garden and pool.

Although the Casita is the little studio cottage on the property it felt very private. Excellent bathroom and bedroom. Perfect for a couple passing through De Rust for a few nights. Rus in De Rust is probably one of the nicest places we have stayed before

The house was decorated mid-century style. Beautiful. The stoep outside the bedrooms gave a wonderful view over the mountains while sipping coffee early morning. I loved the bedding. And the beautiful lamps. Actually...everything!

Everything you need all the time. No problem communication. Happy to assist. Good laces to eat and drink in the village. Definite place to mark as a must stay.

What a beautiful place. The views are stunning snd there is everything you need. Even braai wood & fire lighters supplied. Will definitely be back.

Stunning home, spacious, gorgeous interiors, wrap around stoep, comfy, and had AIRCON! We spread to the Casita which was gorgeous and the pool! Loved the jams and cordial!

Workspace in kitchen bit tight for us foodie bunch and missed a dishwasher, but that was us being holiday lazy!🤣

Karin was the most amazing host! Went out of her way for us. Will recommend this place to anyone. We cooled down after a very hot day in the pool. Had a wonderful braai. Everything you need.

the basin should have been larger in the smaller unit - Casita Difficult to find more problems with this accommodation

A superb little cottage, private and away from the main house, with a lovely little garden setting beautifully kept, making a lovely view from the verandah. The cottage was clean, well maintained, well appointed and simply "easy". A lovely overnight spot

Such a beautiful house, tastefully decorated. An easy walk to the village. We travelled with our dogs and they simply loved the safe, enclosed garden filled with so much exploration opportunity.

Very clean lodge with excellent facilities and comfy beds. Very secure for our dogs as the property have an excellent fence. Walking distance to shops.

A cute little cottage that has everything you need for an overnight stay. Loved the outside area that is well integrated with the inside area which add a little more space for you to live and enjoy.

We stayed at the Casita. It is a lovely studio unit that is well furnished for its size. It even has its own inverter to avoid loadshedding. The sparkling pool in front of the unit is great for cooling down on a hot summer’s day. We can recommend Rus in De Rust to any of our fellow travelers.

Breakfast wasn't included but the host had left some lovely biscotti for us to enjoy. We had a lovely quiet stay overnight, which was just what we needed after a long drive. We had loadshedding and the following day the accommodation was upgrading the cottage onto a solar system. Will definitely stay there again.

a little bit of milk for our tea in the fridge would have been appreciated.

The open shower in the cold weather is something to get used to 😁It would be nice to have some DSTV channels to watch. That’s the only two small things.

Location is fine.

The bathroom is fine just needs a partition at the toilet as one sits and looks into the neighbors yard. Just a question as to why the dog levy is paid. I pick up there mess and provide everything. We traveled for a month around the country and stayed over at pet friendly places and this was the only place we had to paid. The lights are a bit strange switching them on and off. Battled in the beginning to figure them out and could not get the fan to work.

Great communication from hosts Deon and Karin. Rus in De Rust is a lovely cottage set in a beautiful garden - just what you need for an over night stop. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the bed was super comfy! Will definitely recommend a stay here for a night or three if you are looking for some peace and quiet.

The View is great and close to shops. The bed was comfortable, and the pool had a nice touch. Frogs at night with the patio doors open and cicada chirring. It was a decent stay but a bit overpriced.

The rather large brown spider hiding under the sheets in the bed. My last night, I tried to apprehend the specimen, but it eluded all efforts, so i slept putside the sheets. The lights out front are all attracting bugs, and with blackouts regularly 8hrs a day, the camera has a light that runs on battery and attracts them. Also.... why no trash can? There is literally no dining for 45 minutes for anyone with allergies and no grocery store. The streets had one police truck and two safety officers in total and not one pedestrian in a 2-hour walk. The property can not control any of that except the 8-legged companion.

what a gorgeous property! wow! we loved and appreciated all the amenities on offer. the main house and Casita are both beautifully styled - such great value for money! the pool is amazing, the staff are great - very kind and and helpful. they are also well kitted during load shedding which is such a help!

The Casita didn’t have air conditioning - while there is a fan, this just wasn’t enough, it gets exceptionally hot inside there during summer and you can’t open windows because of the mosquitoes. I think the addition of mosquito screens on all doors and windows for both the main house and casita would help hugely especially to help with those pesky flies too!

This is a beautiful restored cottage and exceeded our expectations. It ir truly beautiful and luxurious decorated. Beautiful furniture and rugs on an exquisite restored wooden floor.

It takes considerable time and effort to design a system that works well in any area of life, clearly the host understands this concept very well. Everything in the house is planned and clearly thought through to offer clients an experience thats easy, practical, functional and relaxing,

Absolutely perfect. The house is very spacious and well appointed with everything you could possibly need. Lovely town. We enjoyed every minute and hated to check out. Will return soon.
