The property had wonderful character. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Obviously a popular pub with locals which made it fun to sit there and listen to their conversations.
All good :)
The location was great and the staff very friendly and helpful.
The rooms could do with a little updating, the sink in our room was very cracked.
Beautiful location just a few steps away from the harbour. Friendly Staff, Excellent Breakfast. Very popular pub, and food looked good (although we did not eat in) Clean rooms with comfy beds Parking available 200m away in public pay/display carpark
Room was rather cramped - with just enough space to walk around. (But that's what you get in most places these days)
Central location. Very nice room
Parking was a bit of a challenge. Fortunately disabled bluevbadge helped.
The Olde Ship Inn is very characterful and provides comfortable accommodation and good food. The staff were friendly and the location is central to Seahouses.
The accommodation was on the pricey side (probably paying for the seaside location). Only limited disabled parking on site so you have to pay to park locally, about 5 mins walk away from the hotel. It's characterful but the narrow stairs to the upstairs bedrooms is tricky with a larger suitcase.
Location, cleanliness and breakfast / dinner.
Nothing major but 2 bed bungalow could do with a mini fridge.
Hotel and staff very good .
Breakfast was over cooked and disappointing.
Great location and great breakfast. The room on the first night was below people who got up very early so we had an interrupted night.
Staff were lovely
Trying to find parking, not hotels problem we went to free overnight council parking but got a ticket as we didn’t move out by 6am in morning so just to be aware
Bed's were comfortable, Sofa was comfortable. Views of sea and harbour were nice
Bungalow was located in the middle of the outdoor seating so had no privacy whatsoever. We had to keep the blinds and curtains closed throughout the day so the people sitting outside or the staff who accessed the back and side of the building could not see in! Staff and guests would walk around and those who smoked meant all the smoke came inside so we had to keep the windows closed also. The pub bins were right underneath one of the bedroom windows so that was very unpleasant. We had dinner on the first night in the pub which was mediocre. The crab with new potato salad was appalling, the crab had mushed up crab meat so not sure what else was mashed up in it, the new potatoes were OLD AND ROTTEN which we highlighted to staff, I can't believe the chef allowed that plate of food to be served. Not worthy of a Rosette in the slightest. We went out for dinner every other night but as breakfast was included we thought we would give them the benefit of the doubt but unfortunately breakfast was just as bad, inconsistent and unappealing, the scrambled eggs were different every time. I ordered a smoked salmon and scrambled egg and it came with a side of a piece of plastic!!! Shameful
It’s an amazing building and very quirky . The room was gorgeous ,very clean , large & in keeping with the building
The lack of parking at the property might be a challenge . There is a public car park a short walk away . The first hour is free
the wall between room 10 and room 11 leaked noise. So not private, nor is it pleasurable to hear others argue.
Great location & nice facilities - the drinks in room were great!
Nothing
Fantastic location, room was spacious with a wonderful view of the harbour and the Farne Islands.
Fab bedroom with four poster bed.
A wee bit crowded dud to it's popularity...so not a downside!!
The location is excellent, our room was comfortable with great views, breakfast was great, the bar is very quirky and homely.
Nothing to dislike for us.
Food and staff and excellent beer. Location.
Parking facilities. Having to get up at 7.30am each morning to walk to the council car park to pay for parking. Extremely basic room with a cracked sink and missing hair drier
It is probably the most noticeable building at the end of the High Street, and a quirky place combining a pub, antique shop and hotel rooms. Our Kings Room was on the first floor, with a large bay window offering interesting views on both sides of this working village. The room was quite spacious, with two sofas and a coffee table — ideal for a couple on holiday with time to relax. The bed was also very comfortable. Breakfast was good, and staff were friendly.
The room, particularly the walls, could do with a little TLC, as it feels quite dated. The kettle is also very old; for a £150-a-night B&B, one would expect slightly more modern equipment. The en-suite looks dated too and was a little smelly, presumably due to inadequate ventilation. The major headache, however, is parking. The limited parking is reserved for staff and disabled, while hotel guests have to use the station car park and pay. This is understandable for a town-centre building with limited space, but it is simply inconvenient, especially when it rains and you have several things to carry. Quite frankly, for a hotel at this price, guests might reasonably have concerns about the safety of their vehicles when having to leave them in a public car park a few hundred yards away. I appreciate that this is what it is, but it may be enough to put me off returning.
Room was comfortable and clean
Pub appeared a bit tired but accommodation and breakfast excellent
Comfy bed and good location.
Breakfast staff were rather disorganised.
Overall we were happy with our stay today The location is great and we really enjoyed the very buzzy bar. All the staff we came in to contact with were friendly, helpful and working hard As a pub i can highly As a hotel. Our room was clean and had a lovely view of the harbour. The hotel has a huge amount of atmosphere and was good value for money Breakfast was very good with a great selection from the menu
Our room (No11) needs a bit of simple attention. There were a couple of light bulbs not working in the room and bathroom (a pet hate of mine). The electric shower was very noisy when running and leaked on to the floor Beds were ok but better/ newer mattress would be welcomed Wall between room 10 & 11 is very thin and as the headboard of the bed in each room is on the other side of a very thin wall, you can imagine that you really did hear everything
Wonderful character and very friendly ambience. Full table service and more than full excellent breakfast. Great combination of nostalgic paraphernalia in the bar and restaurant together with modern facilities in the bedroom and en-suite bathroom. Clean and comfortable bedrooms. Good selection of lighter snacks in the bar if the dining room is fully booked.
Parking was limited meaning leaving the car a distance from the hotel. Stairs typically narrow for those with slight disabilities and more when carrying cases. Assistance by staff was generously offered.
Good location, nice accommodation and staff.
Lamp in sitting room didnt work, and no bedside lamps in bedroom so lighting harsh. Overpowering smell of bleach in accommodation on arrival.
Central to everything in Seahouses , friendly staff , food good
Our particular room was very small , the bathroom didn’t smell to nice , vey tight stairs to get the suitcases up and down ( the clue is in the name of the property) .
La posizione è la tipica locanda sul mare inglese
Le ragnatele , attenzione alla pulizia
We were lucky enough to be allocated a gorgeous room with a clear view of the sea. The hotel is quirky (in a good way) and the building itself is fascinating. The staff were all very friendly and obliging and the breakfast was superb with plenty of choice. We were meeting with family, so didn't get to experience the bar or evening meal offerings but both appeared to be very popular. I would definitely recommend The Olde Ship Inn to anyone staying in Seahouses.
Location was very convenient for our boat trip. We appreciated being able to store our bicycles in an outbuilding overnight and while we were on the boat trip. Staff were helpful and personable and we enjoyed our evening meal in the bar.
The room was rather small and cramped considering that the nightly rate that we paid (£131) was at the top end of our holiday budget.
A great traditional pub. Full to the brim with artefacts but to their credit everything was very clean - not the dusty, musty atmosphere in many old pubs. A great room (11) with a welcome bath. Plenty of tea, coffee, etc plus bottled water. Interesting food menu. A real find just a short distance from Bamburgh Castle.

Brilliant Apartment So close to facilities
Spacious, clean, close to shops and restaurants
Food and bar
Room, was very dusty round frames, bed frame was all marked, bathroom ceiling was all stained where there must have been a leak from upstairs, blind had been removed from door but 4 hooks left sticking out hazard, room very warm but noise from outside meant you could not leave it open.fan did not work in bathroom so feisty smell. Overall needs a good revamp
Great stay in a very characterful pub right near the harbour. Lovely dinner and breakfast choice. Staff very friendly. We had to change rooms due to an issue with the shower and were given dinner on the house.
Pub is full of character and history.Fantastic location, room was clean with great views over the harbour. 4 poster bed was very comfy. Staff attentive and polite. Great outdoor area overlooking the harbour. Would highly recommend.
Loved everything. Next time will book a longer stay.
This is a special place! Beautifully decorated and cosy, and the room was very comfortable and spotless. Very friendly staff.
Only small downside was the breakfast. I had the avocado/poached egg which was a bit underwhelming and lacked any taste.
Had our own bungalow with two comfortable bedrooms and a living room. Very conveniently located.
No parking.
Great location, lively bar and staff were great.

Nothing to dislike. All perfect.
Cosy little cottage in Seahouses - perfect for a few days getaway
Friendly Staff. Location. Views. Originality of the quirky premises
Parking was difficult. A little cramped

The location was great and the staff very friendly. Good quality tea snd coffee in the room.
The mattress could do with being replaced. A bit worse for wear.
Spacious room, with decent storage and hanging space for clothes, excellent breakfast with good choice of cooked items and attentive service. Good value for money for the area.
At peak times the nearby car park can get very full, so parking is not always convenient. Access to the bedrooms, those on the second floor especially, is by a steep, narrow staircase and not easy if carrying luggage, or for anyone not 100% mobile
Good location. Quiet despite being in the middle of town. Very comfortable bed and the long bath was very welcome after a long walk! Staff were lovely.
Bar smelled of disinfectant so we went somewhere else. Breakfast was ok. Evening menu looked fine but another local restaurant had much better reviews.
Perfect location. Stayed in the bungalow. Couldn’t have asked for better. Staff really helpful and friendly. Breakfast vast choice, perfect.
Location,friendly staff,good food and quirkiness
Nothing
Good location, friendly staff, property had plenty of character.
Stairs were a little tricky but it is an old building.
Great location, good breakfast selection, comfy quiet room..
The northeast coast is beautiful. The staff were lovely. The en suite facilities were modernized. The location is good, though "sea view" was an exaggeration
The bed was appalling -- old, saggy, and deeply uncomfortable. The room was cramped. There was external noise from an air con system. The food quality was uneven. While the physical location was good, it was spoiled by the proliferation of dirty, tatty George Cross flags hanging limply at half mast on the lampposts in the streets outside. You might as well hang up a sign saying "Strangers go home."
Great location, parking in nearby long stay, Quirky pub with great rooms, full of ship memorabilia, very interesting and been in the same family for 100 years. Food is amazing, breakfast was delicious. All the staff are friendly and welcoming. We loved our stay.
Room 6 was alittle noisy as at top of stairs so passed by all staying in rooms, would maybe not stay in this room if returning.
Outstanding breakfast choices and quality Old interior of the pub was lovely
Room a little too small although we did see that their larger (and I guess more expensive?) rooms were a decent size
Almost all of it.
Our room was above the entrance and people were going and coming early morning and banging the door closed each time which was a little unpleasant.
Lovely views. Beautiful locations. Clean, comfortable rooms.
Nothing.
We’ve stayed at the Old Ship loads of times, and also at other places in Northumberland . This was our first revisit for a couple of years for a last minute break , and we thoroughly enjoyed it . Real ale in tip top condition, good food and friendly service. .
Excellent location with lovely views of the harbour. We stayed in the Bungalow which was very clean and comfortable . Friendly helpful staff. Would highly recommend.
The room was comfortable and had everything you need. Lovely breakfast. Very quirky bar and beautiful Sunday roast.
Tiny shower.
Great location,
Centrally located and full of character. Main bar is a real treat with all its maritime memorabilia. Good food in the restaurant - especially enjoyed the dressed crab. Attentive and friendly team Nice corner room (twin)
Beware - the bedroom walls are thin! Remote parking but there’s plenty of it on main car park (behind toilets off roundabout); it’s free overnight (6pm to 8am) and you can ‘load’ the meter so that you get credit after 8am (ie 3 hours parking paid for at 5.30pm will last until 10.30am)
Nice pub, interesting property, nice breakfast and dining room, good staff😊 And if you have the king room with the bay window it’s a bonus
Slightly uncomfortable 4 poster bed, en-suite could do with a freshen up. You have to park in the public car park and pay for it.
Right near the front and boats
Nothing
Breakfast was ideal
Everything was great
Room Staff
Spraying cleaning sprays whilst we we eating dinner! Bulb in tea side table needs replacing, no light given off
Evening meal lovely, served with a smile by Daisy. A nice cosy room
Room was dusty on bedside light and bed headboard, bathroom rad needs tightening, bulb gone in bathroom. Lady bar server pn Monday evening was rude to customers, face angry, shd be sent home, thankfully not working Tuesday!! Should not be working with the public!!
L'emplacement, la gentillesse du personnel et les repas. Tout était parfait. Merci ❤️
Beautiful views to the sea and very comfortable bed
No fridge for my prescriptions and drinks
Excellent Location. Clean, tidy hotel with everything what was needed. Room nice with a good shower and clean towels each day. Staff just wonderful and friendly as always in the North East

Location
Fabulous location, spotless property, great hosts, everything you will ever need.
Nothing
Rooms lovely & excellent value for money
The bungalow was big & it was lovely. But it felt a little bit too much like it it was in the beer garden.
Very convenient for the harbour and coastal path. Comfortable room and friendly staff.
Breakfast and dinner were disappointing.
Excellent location in Seahouses, friendly staff and a good breakfast.
Whilst my neighbour wasn't noisy, I could hear everything he said in his telephone calls! No noise from the pub downstairs though.
Brilliant pub excellent food great service
Nothing
We had a brilliant time staying at the Olde ship inn Seahouses. Accommodation was clean, so central and perfect for our short 3 night break.
Lovely stay in a unique property. Very friendly, good food and excellent service
2 Nächte im Old Ship Inn verbracht.
Location was excellent and the quirkiness we loved. While weather was not great we loved sitting outside in the beer garden overlooking the harbour. The food was nice as were the staff so all in all we enjoyed our 2 night stay and would definitely return
We had booked a standard room (Room 1) which was very small so for future visits we would definitely book a superior room.
The breakfast and location was excellent, the cottage was nice and clean.
The blinds at the side of the cottage didn't work, so had to shut the curtains as people were looking in the window. Otherwise it was excellent
Great location and good selection of beers.
No on site parking
Spot on!
Great location with easy access to everything. We enjoyed being in the self contained apartment but having easy access to the main hotel. Great food and lovely, friendly staff
I didn’t realise when booking that the room contained twin beds and felt they were a bit small
Top Lage, freundliches Personal, leckeres Frühstück, Hunde sind willkommen
Parkplatzsituation ist sehr angespannt
Great location, next to harbour and minutes from all amenities.Lovely staff, rooms clean and original.Relaxing atmosphere and good value including breakfast
Friendly place, great service.
This is my fourth visit to The Olde Ship Inn and the attraction is the beer food & location suite me just fine .
Ive parked my motorcycle securely unfortunately the Gulls took a liking to it and made a bit of a mess .
The location
The bed was small and the rooms dated
Cleanliness, very quirky, nice meals,
Nothing
A very unique hotel with complete facilities. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel is not far from the parking lot and is located near the city center roundabout.
Nothing!
Breakfast was lovely,and nice choice!
Food overall was good, maybe abit pricy for sandwiches and evening meals, but I suppose everywhere seems to be the normal thing these day's.
Good location, food, bar and staff.
Could hear tv, talking and snoring from adjacent room. Very thin toilet paper and no tissues. Very small tv set.
Lovely staff, excellent food
Bed wasnt very comfortable,.slept.poorly but thats just me
The staff , food , the bar, food + good beer
The parking situation was horrendous!!
Great hotel full of character, right near harbour and centre of town. Lovely dinner and breakfast. Great base for visiting the Farne Islands.
Nothing
Bottle Water available. Loved the biscuits and loved everything
All ok
Every wall was very interesting. We had room number two, which was gorgeous. The breakfast was very, very tasty. The stuff couldn’t have been any nicer.
Unfortunately, we only stayed one night
Great location centre of Alnwick, close to shops, cafe’s, restaurants and the castle.
Everything
Nicely appointed bungalow, good amount of space for a family. Great breakfast, lots of choice of cooked options. Had a lovely dinner in the restaurant too. Staff were great, helpful, and friendly.
The bungalow entrance was part of the beer garden, so you had to negotiate your way there. However, there was no issue later at night as the outside space closed early, no disturbing noise. No on-site (unless disabled) or street parking, not an issue for us as a public car park was only a short walk. Breakfast was great for cooked options but more limited otherwise.
Close by to
Second booking here in a few months - worth the return. Great location, breakfast and friendly staff.
Scored a perfect score last time but less this time due to the room we had. Was unable to get to sleep due to proximity of our room above the cabin bar area. Loud group and it felt that they were in our room with us. To be fair after I reported this, staff did move the group to another part of the bar. I'm sure we would return but would specifically ask to avoid Room 7 and if possible be on the second floor.
