Blue Nest by Horizon Holidays

Toll sind tatsächlich der Meerblick und der Strand, aber den gibt es auf Mauritius durchaus öfter, wir waren schon zweimal auf der Insel hatten immer schöne und gehobene Unterkünfte direkt am Meer und sind bisher immer positiv überrascht worden. Leider entspricht die Unterkunft in wesentlichen Punkten nicht der Beschreibung und dem Eindruck der veröffentlichten Fotos, da das Mobiliar und die Ausstattung sowie auch die Terrasse sichtbar in die Jahre gekommen ist und aus unserer Sicht (und der Kenntnis des eigentlichen Standards in dieser Preiskategorie sowie verfügbaren Alternativen auf der Insel) in keinem Verhältnis zum sehr hohen Preis der Unterkunft steht. Das passt leider gar nicht zusammen. Vor 7-10 Jahren war vielleicht noch alles modern und hochwertig.

Wir hatten das „Blue Nest“ Penthouse eigentlich 5 Nächte gebucht, sind aufgrund der erheblichen Mängel jedoch bereits nach der ersten Nacht abgereist, da wir insgesamt sehr enttäuscht über das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis sind und leider auch noch Kakerlaken hatten. Diese kamen abends durch offene Holzdielen unter dem Esstisch, absolut inakzeptabel. Hinzu kamen ein muffiger Geruch aus der Waschmaschine, fleckige Handtücher, nur oberflächliche Reinigung, Krümel und ein altes Pflaster auf dem Boden sowie Schimmelspuren im Bad und veraltete abgeranzte Armaturen. Außerdem fliegen in kurzen Abständen Flugzeuge über das Haus, auch am späten Abend und frühen Morgen, soviel zum Thema Ruhe. Ein direkter Strandzugang, wie die Fotos zunächst vermuten lassen, besteht ebenfalls nicht; der Weg führt über mehrere Ebenen und um das Gebäude herum zum Strand – für Familien zumindest recht umständlich. Das Penthouse ist übrigens auch ziemlich klein (ca 75-80qm), eng möbliert und bei Weitem nicht geräumig, die Terrasse ist riesig, ja, aber der Wohnbereich fühlt sich an wie ein funktionales Appartment, auch die Möbel sind eher praktisch und funktional, und nicht ansprechend und hochwertig eingerichtet.

Отличное расположение на берегу океана. Отличная вилла! Отличное оснащение виллы, есть всё!!!Это одно из немногих мест куда хотелось бы вернуться ещё, а мы много где были!

La vue sur mer est exceptionnelle, l’accès à la plage avec transat dédiés, l’établissement met à disposition des kayaks, padels pour des balades, la décoration et l’aménagement du penthouse était parfait pour notre séjour ( 2 adultes / 3enfants ) l’accueil de l’équipe particulièrement Martine était chaleureux. Un vrai sans faute !

Blue Nest is very well situated on a beautiful sandy beach. The staff were amazing and took very good care of us. We felt very welcome.

The Internet connectivity was very bad in some areas, and some of the other tenants were very loud and inconsiderate. The drain was blocked, and our kitchen flooded when the upstairs apartments were doing laundry. Unfortunately, our beach beds were mostly in the shade, and although there were others available, there were complaints when we used them once, while guests from another resort were allowed to take them over.

Our stay at Blue Nest by Horizon Holidays was absolutely unforgettable! The accommodation is fantastic, perfectly clean, and offers everything you need for a comfortable holiday. However, what truly stole our hearts was the stunning location at Pointe d'Esny. The ocean here is beautifully wild, crystal clear, and breathtaking—a true paradise for nature and water lovers. It is an absolutely ideal spot if you are into kitesurfing, as the conditions are just great. We also highly recommend taking the local boat trips for snorkeling; exploring the underwater world here was an amazing experience. If you are looking for a beautiful, peaceful, and authentic escape in Mauritius, look no further. We cannot recommend this place enough and would love to come back! 10/10!

First day we arrived early, the staff took care of us. They gave us towels and let us on the beach loungers. That extended our vacation. Staff was very nice and the room service was perfect. The location, the facilities and the view surprised us very pleasantly.

The location was fantastic. On the beach! The staff, were outstanding. Martine most certainly contributed positively to our wonderful stay on Mauritius.

Wow. This place feels like heaven - because it is! We stayed in multiple places during our 2 weeks on Mauricius and this place - omg - was the best of them all. Mega spacious apartment, super clean and well maintained, the beach is few steps away and it will just blow your mind. Water equipment available, petang field, stunning views. Well done - this was breathtaking! Property manager, Martine, is a 5*STAR performer, it's that simple. She was super kind, well organized, proactive and very helpful. She elevated our experience even higher - We abdolutely loved staying here and will hopefully come back soon! .. and the sunrises! 💚

The terrace offers an absolutely stunning view. The units are tastefully decorated and equipped with all necessary culinary utensils. The hostess was exceptionally kind and helpful, readily assisting us with all our needs.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo appartamento per una settimana e ci siamo trovati benissimo. L'alloggio è spazioso, elegante e molto pulito, e la spiaggia proprio di fronte è davvero incantevole. Martine è stata gentile, disponibile e simpatica, contribuendo a rendere la nostra vacanza ancora più piacevole. Grazie di cuore!

Ein unglaublich liebevoll geführtes und traumhaft schönes Hotel, mit einem überwältigenden Blick aufs Meer, direkt an einem der schönsten Strände. . Dank der Herzlichkeit der Besitzerin Maria Martin fühlten wir uns vom ersten Moment an willkommen. Sie hat uns fürsorglich beraten und ist all unseren Wünschen mit viel Zuvorkommenheit nachgekommen. In der Nähe von Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, man braucht ein Auto. Es gibt Liegen am Strand und immer frische, saubere Strandtücher

Everything was perfect, the appartment was very comfort and clean, The view from the terace was fantastic,. The staff was very professional, we felt very safe there. They also brought us bread every morning. The beach and the sea in front of the appartment is one of the most beautiful on the island. We had a magic vacations ❤️

Exceptional stay. Great location, very calm beach with only a few people right in front of the house. Beautiful sea, one of the best we saw in the entire Mauritius (and we travelled a lot). It's very quiet, clean, and calm, with a great view. Martine was our host and was very attentive and kind. She recommended places to visit, and whenever we needed something, she replied quickly. She was very lovely, as were all the staff we met. We highly recommend this place to everyone. Phenomenal.

Emplacement idéal

Perfect location, on the beachfront, wonderful views & beaches. Well appointed & equipped accommodation. Secure, gated parking, with on site security. We opted for the penthouse on the top floor, accessible by stairs. This means taking luggage and shopping can be a chore. 15 minutes to a Beau Valon shopping mall, 20 mins to the airport.

Only the stairs to the apartment, which is the reason I scored a 9

The aesthetic

Прекрасные апартаменты для проживания шести человек. На кухне есть вся необходимая техника и посуда, новый газовый гриль Weber на веранде. Три спальни с кондиционерами, каждая из которых с индивидуальной душевой и туалетом. Мебели для вещей достаточно. Для водных развлечений есть каноэ и сапборды, на пляже лежаки и стационарные зонты от солнца, океан чистый, без сильной волны, прекрасный вид на океан. На веранде диванчики, стулья и два лежака! Все супер! Благодарны хозяевам за внимание и гостеприимство!

Хотелось бы чуть больше лежаков на веранде, четыре-пять оптимально!

Need some local refurbishments. Not critical, but pins to eye in comparison to such great penthouse. This is more for owner, than for next guests: Wardrobe doors sliding meachanism damaged. Plaster damaged by water near showers. Grill not cleaned.

Traumhaftes Penthouse in ruhiger Villengegend, extra tolle Ausstattung, eigener Parkplatz und Liegen dem Appartment zugeordnet , kajak, sup vom Benutzer können genutzt werden, top Lage für Wassersport, kite school direkt nebenan. 2 Terassen Supermarkt, bar, blue Bay in ein paar minuten mit dem Auto zu erreichen. Alles total entspannt. Urlaub beginnt sofort. Houseservice hervorragend - danke an Martine und ihr team für jedes Anliegen ist sofort jemand da . Extrem sauber aufgeräumter Anwesen mit Wachservice auf dem Grundstück. Wir kommen wieder! Danke

We stayed for 6 nights as a family and it was outstanding. A coral beach with clear turquoise water - ideal for swimming and snorkelling - is directly in front of the Appartment. The staff is incredible helpful and welcoming and did everything to make us feel comfortable. Our adult kids enjoyed each room having its own bathroom. Everything was so spacious and superclean. It was worth every single cent.

The location is beautiful, the Le Dalblair property new which was where we stayed, since there was no room left in the Blue Nest and they changed our reservation, calling it an upgrade, for the same price, which is not true at all.

The comunication with the property was not good, they skipped one cleaning day, had no facilities like showers or place to leave the luggage in case of non availability of late check out. The person in charge was really nice and gave us the possibility of having a shower in another apartement in the late afternoon, since we had the flight later in the evening, but it was her beeing really nice, while the organisation missed this kind of service. No offers for activities like tours or massage or anything, not even written somewhefe in the apartement. In front of the property there is a lovely beach but no facilities at all. We booked Blue nest, which would have been better, but got this Le Dalblair for the same price, which is too high for the place. Le Deblair in fact costs less, but they called it an upgrade and gave us a much worse place. This really annoyed us, also because they called that an upgrade, which is simply not true at all. The swimming pool needed maintenance during our stay so it was not available, but nothing has been offered to compensate the fact, even if there were other properties of Horizon nearby. The property was not finished, there were workers around. Isolation not so good, one can hear the neightbours.

Eine aussergewöhnliche Wohnung mit einer unglaublichen Aussicht auf das Meer, an einer wunderbaren Lage. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt, an den wir uns noch lange zurückerinnern werden. Super nettes und hilfreiches Personal!

I think will be excellent to install water heaters for upper swimming pool that was in roof house.

Magnificient view from the penthouse terrace on one of the most beautiful beaches in Mauritius. We received outstanding customer service from all personnel at the property throughout our stay. The penthouse was clean, spacious and very well furnished, perfect for our family of six. The bus stop was very convenient and just outside the property. The property was very close to the iconic village of Mahebourg, and the Bo’Valon Mall.

It was a fantastic stay. Jashvani welcomed us. She was very nice, cooperative, and accommodating, and made everything easy. Urvashi did the checkout; she was right on time and accommodating. The view was amazing. We booked Blue Nest, but they upgraded us to Delblair. They were very close to each other. Delblair was a new apartment, fully furnished and equipped.

From the moment we entered into the apartment, we couldn't believe the view. It was spectacular! The apartment was beautifully decorated and furnished and it had everything we needed! The terrace was enormous and we really enjoyed watching the sunrise from there every morning. The location was just perfect! The beach was one of the best beaches we visited during our stay and it was very close to other places worth visiting. We'd love to go back there and we've actually recommended the place to other people who want to travel to Mauritius.

Something that can be improved to make the stay more than perfect is the cleaning service. We were told it was every day, but apart from taking the trash out (which we had to ask for) the apartment wasn't cleaned during our stay. Also, one of the air conditioners wasn't working and even though the staff said they'll send somebody up to check it, no one came. One last note, I didn't like that they used my email to complete a survey on my behalf whether it was used only internally or not.

Everything was amazing!

Very quiet location with splendid surrounding landscape and seascape (including underwater! Beautiful corals!!). Perfect for relaxing, snorkelling, kayaking, swimming, jogging, diving. Beautiful, comfortable, sustainable furniture. You will find a fan in each room. Everyone's friendly and helpful.

Our family of 4 adults and 1 child stayed at the Blue Nest Penthouse in Pointe d'Esny for 5 nights, and it exceeded all expectations. We booked a Premium Apartment but were upgraded to the Penthouse—what a treat! Blue Nest is a new, modern development with only 5 apartments (4 Premium and 1 Penthouse), offering ultimate comfort. The property is beautifully furnished, with a fully equipped kitchen. The location is unbeatable—directly on a quiet, stunning beach with turquoise water. Each apartment has designated sunbeds and an umbrella on the beach. Kayaks and paddleboards are also available for complimentary use. The best feature? The view! From the Penthouse, you enjoy breathtaking vistas of the beach and sea. The host, Horizon Holidays, was exceptional—always available to assist with anything you need: private chef to cook for you, taxi transfers, boat trips to see wild dolphins (the boat picks you up right in front of the apartment), or even grocery shopping (a taxi picks you up, takes you to the store, and brings you back). We highly recommend Blue Nest Penthouse; it’s everything you dream of and more!

It is located in Pointe D'esny, where the beach is relatively isolated from the public, offering a sense of privacy. The area provides many snorkelong spots with excellent opportunities to explore the coral reefs and observe a variety of marine life. The accommodation is well equipped, clean, and comfortable.

There were a few ants in the bedrooms. However, they were not overly bothersome.

Beautiful apartments to live in, close to the airport, and there are also services nearby. The beach is very beautiful, and there is a free kayaking boat for tenants and a slide. An experience worth repeating. Thank you to Jashvani for the service and assistance in everything.

“Blue Bay” is a slice of paradise at your feet, offering breathtaking views. The beach is so tranquil, and the sea is so stunning that you’ll feel like royalty. This place is one of the finest spots to stay in Mauritius, both in terms of its facilities and its unbeatable location. The property is equipped with everything you could possibly need—a fully stocked kitchen, a cozy living room, and a spacious terrace perfect for relaxing. There’s even a supermarket just a short walk away. Our vacation was nothing short of blissful. The view of the apartment is stunning. We loved it so much. They offer everything you need - the kitchen is very well equipped, you have private beds on the beach .. it was perfect. The apartment itself was clean - only the couch had some stains already. Staff was very lovely

Beautiful accommodation with fabulous views and access to a gorgeous beach. Any queries we had prior to arrival and while on holiday were always responded to very quickly. Staff on site went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect - special mention to Maxine, who gave us a lovely greeting on arrival and made us feel completely at home. We were also lucky to be able to arrange extra time on the last day as we had a late flight home and this which allowed us to chill and have a last dip in the ocean to look at the fishes.

Our group spent several night in Blue Nest apartment. We were happy with the communication with the manager and the other services as well. The apartment is very well equipped and family friendly. The stunning view from the terrace completes the experience. We had a great time here and can gladly recommend a stay at this property. Enjoy your stay!

We thought we will get the 1st floor apartment but we’re given the ground floor. This was not the one shown in booking pictures so we ware a bit disappointed.

This place is simply amazing and has the beach on the whole island. Apartment is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. Manager is super friendly and helpful. We couldn't have better place for our family holidays!

The very bright apartment is extremely spacious, everyone finds their privacy. In addition, it is very clean, very modern and has all the necessary equipment for the stay. The staff is attentive, right down to the gardener who told me about a leak in a paddle. The terrace overlooking the sea is simply sublime.
