The staff was very courteous and always in a good mood; they were always available via WhatsApp and very helpful. The room was beautiful, clean, and filled with natural light. We even got offered a floating breakfast. 😊 Great location, with plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.

We didn't like the sandy path leading to the room, and the private pool and hot tub weren't clean enough. The pool was even a bit greenish—we switched rooms because of that, but the second one had the same problem, so we didn't feel like complaining anymore. We didn’t like the breakfast system: You had to choose your meal and specify the time one day in advance (which is actually okay, since it reduces waste), but you could only choose one item, and some of the portions were a bit too small. Also, the restaurant doesn’t offer cappuccino or similar drinks—just black coffee made with a French press.

As someone who has now traveled to 23 countries and stayed in countless luxury hotels around the world, including many in the United States, I can confidently say that Astera Resort Canggu has delivered one of the most memorable hospitality experiences I’ve ever had. Traveling solo can sometimes feel lonely, but from the very moment I arrived, the incredible team made me feel like I had gained an entire family in Bali. What truly separates Astera from other luxury properties isn’t just the beautiful villas,it’s the people. Every single time I walked through the lobby, even if I had only stepped out for 20 minutes, the staff would stand up with genuine smiles, greet me warmly by name, ask how my day was going, compliment my outfits, and make me feel like the most important guest in the resort. That level of personalized hospitality is incredibly rare, even among five-star luxury hotels. It’s the thoughtful details that transform a stay into an unforgettable experience. Now let’s talk about the villa itself… The rooms are the definition of modern luxury. I absolutely loved the high-tech smart room features, from controlling the lighting with Alexa to the elegant smart lighting system that instantly created the perfect ambiance.

The only think I would like changed compared to my other villa is for them to allow guest to have breakfast sent to room without the extra charge for room Service, and for us to have new resealable water bottles instead of them refilling the bottles themselves and resealing them. Everything else was exceptional.

Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich, egal was man benötigt hat, sie haben sich angestrengt es so schnell wie möglich zu besorgen/buchen,… Es ist in einer eher ruhigen Gegend, und wenn man eher ruhe mag dann ist es der perfekte Standort, aber nur ca. 15min mit dem Mopped ist man am Strand/Clubs/Bars,…

Das neu gebaute Gebäude bzw die neu gebauten Villen sind auf der anderen Straßenseite, direkt an einer Kurve. Natürlich kann sich nicht jemand den ganzen Tag drum kümmern das man sicher über die Straße kommt, und als erwachsener vollkommen machbar, aber mit Kindern sicher blöd, denn das frühstück ist im “alten” Gebäude.

The staff were very friendly, always smiling, and happy to help with anything. I really liked that the room was equipped with Alexa – being able to play music made it feel more like home and was very convenient. The location is great, and communication with the staff via WhatsApp was quick and easy.

It didn’t really feel like a 5-star hotel. The tap water had a very unpleasant smell, so strong that our hands still smelled after washing them. Because of this, we ended up using bottled water even for basic things. Unfortunately, the complimentary bottled water provided by the hotel also seemed to have the same smell, so we didn’t feel comfortable drinking it. The pool water was extremely cold, making it unpleasant to swim. The pool area also wasn’t ideal for relaxing, as the sun loungers were constantly covered with ants. We also received a complimentary 15-minute massage with our booking, but it was by far the worst massage we had during our stay in Bali. On top of that, we felt like we had to chase the staff to arrange it. We had to ask about it ourselves, request an appointment, and even after getting one, we still had to wait. It felt as though our complimentary massage was an inconvenience, and we were repeatedly encouraged to purchase additional spa treatments so that we could have a couples’ massage at the same time instead of receiving the complimentary massages separately.

Nous avons passé un séjour absolument exceptionnel dans cette villa ! Tout était parfait : la maison est magnifique, impeccablement propre, très bien équipée et décorée avec beaucoup de goût. Les espaces extérieurs sont tout aussi agréables, offrant un cadre idéal pour se détendre et profiter pleinement des vacances. Les hôtes ont été d’une grande gentillesse, très réactifs et toujours disponibles pour répondre à nos questions ou nous donner de précieux conseils sur la région. Nous repartons avec de merveilleux souvenirs et reviendrons sans hésiter. Nous recommandons cette villa à 100 % à tous ceux qui recherchent un séjour alliant confort, calme et qualité. Merci encore pour cet accueil exceptionnel !

The staff were extremely nice and welcoming. We stayed in a one bedroom villa with private pool. There was a comfortable large bed. The room was clean and comfortable well maintained. Clean sheets with clean towels. Very happy with the private pool. Air con worked well with ceiling fan. All amenities in the room worked and well maintained.

The water was tap water. The bottles were dirty. We had to buy some from outside.

The atmosphere of the Astera Resort is wonderful, relaxing and open. The hotel is very modern, and they offer great activities for all the guests. The staff is especially friendly, and we had amazing experiences with all of them. We also participated in the morning yoga by the pool, which was a great start to the day.

L’établissement était très bien situé, le personnel très agréable, serviable, à l’écoute et très réactif pour nous proposer de nombreux services. De plus, la literie était très confortable et propre!

Wir hatten die Suite für 2 Übernachtungen gebucht! Hochwertig - sauber - sehr großzügig und mit überaus sehr aufmerksamen und freundlichen Personal welches ein Gefühl von Rund um Sorglos jedem Gast vermittelt hat! Unsere persönliche Ansprechpartnerin Devi war immer um uns bemüht und hat sich unglaublich gut um uns gekümmert! Wir empfehlen es gerne weiter!

Leider lag die Suite auf der gegenüberliegenden Straßenseite und aufgrund von dem anliegenden Restaurantbetrieb war es bis in den späten Abendstunden etwas lauter! Das Gebäude scheint nicht gut Schallisoliert zu sein!

La chambre est très belle, avec une piscine privative à température idéale et une localisation parfaite, proche du centre de Canggu. L’hôtel a clairement du potentiel. Malheureusement, nous avons été très déçus par plusieurs points importants. Tout d’abord, le niveau de propreté laisse vraiment à désirer : nous avons trouvé des cafards dans la chambre tous les jours pendant nos 4 nuits (une dizaine au total). Nous avons dû appeler la réception chaque soir pour qu’ils viennent les enlever. Le personnel était gentil et réactif pour les retirer, mais aucune solution concrète n’a été proposée (ni changement de chambre, ni geste commercial, ni même une réelle prise en compte du problème). Cela donnait l’impression qu’ils étaient habitués à cette situation. Autre gros point négatif : la pompe de la piscine faisait un bruit extrêmement fort et incessant, ce qui rendait très difficile de dormir sereinement la nuit. Enfin, le petit-déjeuner est limité : pas de buffet, on ne peut choisir qu’un seul plat par personne, ce qui manque de variété. En résumé, l’hôtel possède de beaux atouts (chambre et piscine), mais les problèmes d’hygiène, le bruit constant de la pompe et le manque de réactivité de la direction ont fortement gâché notre séjour.

Eşim ve ben ile ikiz 9 yaşında kızlarım var. Bir oda seçtim aile odası diye zannettim. fakat booking 2 kişi için bir oda çocuklar için bir oda rezerve yapmış. Farkında olmadan 2 ayrı oda parası almış ve almış olduğum odalar ise çocuklarımızda ayrı kalmayacağımız için aynı odada tek yatakta yatmak zorunda kaldık. boşu boşuna parasını ödediğim ve kullanmadığım odanın parasını benden aldılar. iade talep etmek istedim booking kuralları gereği olmayacağını söylediler. Bu nedenle, mağdur edildim.

I loved the on site villas arrangement it was a beautiful romantic place. The staff were available 24/7 to assist and they were extremely polite and very helpful with your requirements

The major issue I faced was that through our stay the pools general/private use did not have daily atten tootion which made them unusable 24/7. Sun beds were badly damaged/manageable yet could be dangerous. Both the both are insurance issues and could the resort at risk to legal action.iej Bibby we

Everything was perfect!

The customer service is top tier. Devi was especially helpful with experiences, cabs, and good to the pool/ rooms. Breakfast box to go was nice. Everyone is warm. Room were cleaned very well. Booking outside trips was easy.

The spa services needs work. Old slippers for guests are a nice gesture but looked worn. My room key kept turning off at odd hours. Late hours. Not being able to share rooms so big is a turn off. You should at least be able to have two to a room. The hotel needs to make hotel amenities knowledgeable to the guest early. I did not know we could use the Van to go to the beach until much later in our trip.
