Great location in the heart of Gananoque. Short walking distance to all restaurants, walking trails, waterfront. The Chrysler House is a historical building but is beginning to show its age ( no pun intended). The bathroom tile grout in the room we stayed needs to be cleaned/bleached to restore the grout back to white. Antique carpet in hallway stained and frayed. The in window AC unit’s power cord runs across passage way to closet causing a potential tripping hazard.
It is close to shopping , restaurants and walking paths. The single bed in the Heritage room needs replacing as it really squeeks so any little movement in the night wakes everyone up.
First the positive; it's a great location if you're taking one of the thousand island boat cruises. The docks are only a 5 minute walk away. The negatives; this is not a B&B, as there are no meals offered. Having said that, the room rate is less than nearby B&Bs. We stayed in the Garden room on the main floor which is in need of a refurbishment. The bed was fine, but there is no TV and the furnishings are pretty much at the end of their usefulness. The owners purchased this property at the beginning of 2020 so perhaps Covid derailed any plans that they may have had to do a makeover. However, it's been 5 years now and there are many other B&B options in town to choose from.
We enjoyed our stay.
Excellent!!!
Lovely room and it was a great little 2 day stay. Staff also available by phone and by email to answer questions - very friendly and responsive!
The location is convenient closed to harbour and the street with restaurants, shops and supermarket. The property is quite old but building it’s clean and with good maintenance and vibes. The host is really helpful and reply promptly.
Very unique and charming old inn.
Beautiful location, the most comfortable bed and linens, did not want to leave the bed! Lovely and unique old house, just an awesome spot to walk around and eat/shop. Highly recommend, worth every penny. Bring the people you love here :) P.S. stayed in the Maritime room.
Lovely B&B. Great location, walking distance to waterfront, restaurants, stores etc. I will be returning!
This 1826 (X) B&B , now a small hotel is very tired. In its glory days it must have been a 4 or 5 star place but now it is not. It has the potential of being a 5 star but its going to require lots of work, inside and out. It has a great charm, great location, it is quiet and easy walking distance to everything. The restaurant next door (Riva) is a must. we stayed for 4 nights in the Garden Room, it was very large and had access to the front porch. Over all we enjoyed our trip to 1000 island area and and had a very good time . Matt a friend of the inn keeper was very helpful and pleasent to talk to.
This is an old house, requiring so much maintenance and updating. Sadly that was lacking. The location was lovely, right next door to Riva restaurant which was a great experience.
We had a wonderful stay at Chrysler house. It's a grand building that pre-dates confederation. We stayed in the Garden Suite which is a massive room, complete with private bath and jacuzzi tub. Check-in was a bit unnerving as there was nobody there to greet us, but we found our room and the key with a welcome letter. We later met the host, who was very pleasant, along with the homes Great Dane named Lucy. She had a beautiful temperament, but if dogs aren't your thing??? The hotel is in great proximity to everything from the water, to the shopping, to the park. Our biggest issue was that while numerous on-line sources listed it as a B&B, it did not include a breakfast. I double-checked our correspondence to confirm, but found that other reviewers had said the same. It appears that listing or advertisements in the likes of Trip Advisor and other sources need adjusting. On a lessor note, there is also no TV in the room. I could have been totally into this if there was no electricity and therefore providing the century experience, but it seemed strange. At the end of the day, we had a good experience, but had a few surprises.
Stayed in the Peninsula Room. Small, but comfortable. Shower was downstairs, but that was fine. Great location, easy walk to waterfront and downtown. Beautiful old home with a very comfortable sitting room to read. Majestic Great Dane was very welcoming. I'll stay again on my next trip to Gananoque.
Loved the historical aspect of this beautiful property.
Very charming 6-room in-town manor. Our expansive room also had our own back porch. You are very close to the 1000-island boat tours and walking distance to a number of restaurants. Our host was awesome and we enjoyed conversation in teh common areas. The old manor may appear to be rough around the edges but everything was comfortable and the owners continue to improve.
The house is lovely, centrally located, clean & comfortable!
Everything was awesome especially when I arrived late in the evening and the owner found a restaurant that agreed to stay open and wait for me. Thanks again!
The place is charming and well-kept.
old house maintained properly.
This little inn is so charming, a perfect quiet getaway in a scenic small town.
The place is a little tired, cobwebs in corners of room, awkward shower, no daily cleaning, not enough toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap). Next to a fabulous restaurant Riva, and quaint town near the water.
Beautiful well-appointed inn. Very quiet and peaceful. I would have loved to stayed longer.
Wonderful quiet place to stay.
1 of kind experience
We enjoyed our stay...it was different not to have breakfast and not have people present to check in etc, but we knew how to get assistance if we needed ig.
This house is just beautiful and the room I stayed in (the Maritime) was lovely and had a very comfortable bed. It was nice and quiet, so I was able to work in the morning without distraction. I particularly enjoyed the personal touches around the house that you would never get in a chain hotel. I would definitely stay here again!
It was a beautiful Inn with a great location in and around Gananoque. The blow dryer did not work & the toilet flush handle was broken.
It was an absolutely wonderful stay! The property is wonderfully located between the marina and the downtown restaurants making it wasy to access everything you need by walk. The house itself was completely charming and the room itself just as wonderful. The shared spaces were all unique and pleasant to sit and chat and have tea. The room was beautifully decorated with vintage furniture and the black and dark gold floral wallpaper really made you feel like you were in another world. Hidden away but accessible was a connected bathroom to the room that made it feel particularly private despite sharing all other spaces with other guests. It was really pleasant. I would definitely recommend it and come again for sure.
kind and quick responding.
A beautiful old building from a bygone age. The decor made me feel I was in the Victorian era, a real treat!
Very friendly and accommodating host. His sidekick, Lucy, was a sweet girl.
Beautiful house, quiet and roomy. Hosts super helpful and responsive. A little Oasis in Gananoque where there is lots to do and nice restaurants nearby.
We stayed in the "Garden Room" which i think is listed as Deluxe Double on Expedia. We really enjoyed that there was no tv in the room so we could reconnect with each other during our stay. Gord, the proprietor's father, was extremely helpful lending us a brick for charging our phones overnight as we forgot ours at home. The suggested spots for breakfast were stellar! There was a cute little semi-private balcony sectioned off from the back porch accessible from a door in our room.
Lovely place with delicious breakfast. Very friendly and go above and beyond for your stay.
Quiet place, wonderful
I loved learning about the history of this property. The house has many original photos and furniture. The owners are really friendly, very accommodating and made sure that we were happy and comfortable. The breakfast was very good and we ate dinner right next door. Would definitely stay here again!
This is an amazing location to the downtown. Beautiful house with such amazing owners
Very clean, gorgeous 19th century house, beautiful furniture and friendly staff. It is also well locate, close to the shoreline and the main commercial street.
Charming house. We were made to feel welcomed.
Amazing house and a beautiful setting. Historic, charming, vintage and immaculate. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful. I only wish I had more time on this in-and-out trip to take better advantage of everything offered. Will definitely be coming back on a more leisurely trip next time.
This old house, built in 1826 makes for a great B&B. Our hosts (we met Nathalie and Penn) were welcoming and amenable. There is a certain ambiance that comes from staying in such an old house and this stay didnt disappoint. Breakfast had great options.
My husband and i really enjoyed our stay at Chrysler House. Our host, Natalie was very accommodating and made a delicious breakfast in the morning. which was served wuickly
We really enjoyed staying at this unique and well located property. Our room was delightful and the bed was very comfortable. No TV in the sitting area was a disappointment and no fridge either, other than in a common area on the ground floor. The breakfast was delicious and made the cost very good value.
This is a wonderful historic property immediately on the edge of beautiful downtown Gananoque. I'm currently relaxing in the parlour room with coffee in hand where I was greeted by the owner Natalie to discuss breakfast plans. Our room here is clean, spacious and exactly what we expected.
Everything above expectations!
A wonderful B&B. Historic 1826 facility that has been beautifully restored with modern amenities. The staff were very gracious and customer service focused. The breakfast was outstanding with a number of choices all of which were first rate.
Had a great stay, the room was called the painter. It had a comfortable sitting area and private bath. The breakfast was delicious, delivered to our room but you could also eat in the dining area. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful stay at the Chrysler House Everyone was very friendly. It was in a great location and easy to find. Loved it.
Nice place to stay.
Patrick and Nathalie were friendly and we really enjoyed staying at Chrysler House. The breakfasts were amazing and the house was very charming. Justine (?) was terrific at check in, serving breakfast and giving us suggestions for things to see and do in town.
Hosts so welcoming; Nathalie is friendly and very helpful, Pat is a wonderful chef!
I liked the historic old building. Tiffany was wonderful. The coffee was really bad.
The team at the Chrysler House were fantastic. Location was perfect! Breakfast was incredible (have the Chrysler House breakfast board for 2!!) :)
It was our first experience and it was wonderful. Friendly atmosphere. Got to meet other people.
Staying at Chrysler House was the perfect last stop on my journey home. It is full of character, art, books, antiques, and warm staff. Nathalie was most welcoming and helpful. I appreciated that she contacted me on the day of my arrival, to welcome me and assure that everything would be ready. My room was small and quaint, fine for what I needed. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. There's a quiet outdoor patio and some indoor spaces to enjoy. A lovely location, walking distance to the waterfront and main street with a fine restaurant next door. Highly recommended!
This was a beautiful Inn, very close to everything in Gananoque. The room was lovely, with a king bed and an exit onto the porch. We had an excellent breakfast on the porch; and except for the invasion of wasps, it was delicious. Thank you.
Over all great experience and the breakfast was really good
A beautiful home with spacious rooms. An easy walk to the waterfront, the sculpture garden and downtown.
When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely girl who showed us around. The property and room were very clean and had everything that we needed. Late in the evening we ordered a couple of drinks and Nathalie brought it out to us on the patio which was great. Breakfast the next morning on the patio was delicious, highly recommend ordering the Chrysler Board. Would definitely stay here again.
Very friendly owner who made us feel welcome, and the breakfast was superb
Heritage property of historic interest in excellent location and very well run with friendly staff
Beautiful place and great breakfasts! Was a lovely stay. Only downside is there were a lot of mosquitos in our room and got bit a lot.
Lovely older house very comfortable with lots of character and charm.
Great location, fabulous breakfast and very nice attentive staff.
Staff at this hotel is very nice, interior is very clean and cozy beds are very comfortable delicious brekfast. We will go there again for sure
Breakfast was amazing. Stall extremely welcoming.
Fantastic location. Easy parking. Nice room. Great breakfast. Lovely grounds and patio. Coffee on buffet needs to be fresher or a machine that can make single serving coffee.
Great place to stay.
What a lovely experience, start to finish! Beautiful accommodations, wonderful food, serene setting.
