The view, the atmosphere, the tidiness, great essentials and design. And more than anything, the owner! As for the details, we really liked the huge windows and interior
What a peaceful stay we had out at Baja69. Juve the owner is so gracious and welcoming, and our room was immaculately clean and that view <3!! It’s on the “quiet” side of the beach which was perfect for quiet peaceful walks with the pups, but within walking distance to the crowds and busy sections of the beach. I’d stay again in a heartbeat!
Great stay, awesome hosts. Clean and comfortable, great value.
The hotel is so beautifully designed. I don't think the pictures do it justice. And the owner couldn't be nicer. He pointed me toward safe swimming on a wonderful beach and toward an amazing restaurant, right on the beach, with grey whales spouting 50 feet off shore.
We only stayed one night as we were just passing through on our way to Cabo and needed a place for the night. The host was fantastic. The place has a great story and a real organic laid back vibe. The place is peaceful with a great view to enjoy with your morning coffee. We will definitely be returning for a longer stay.
Staying at this hotel was an amazing experience. It’s very low-key and quiet. You can fall asleep, listening to the ocean waves crashing. And it’s just a short walk down to the beach. The view off the balcony is amazing. Juve the owner went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. Highly recommend.
Incredible personalized service by the owner. Rustic and very clean rooms.
Terrific view from balcony, and from large windows in room. Delicious fresh egg breakfast ($12.50 extra). Super-helpful owner and staff. We locked outselves out of our car, and Juve (owner) made sure we got service to open the car, and even gave us the remaining 300 pesos to pay the mechanic. From the highway going north, you can easily miss the turnoff. You have to go past km67 marker, make a U-Turn where safe, and come back just past km67 marker to turn at the Baja69 sign.
The couple running the hotel is very very nice and we had a realy great time.
We like this place so much we came back for another night.
This is an excellent place to stay if you like the unconventional and the desert and the ocean. The owner, Juve, is a delightful person and cooks a great breakfast. The walk to the beach nearby is pleasant, and the long beach is wonderful. We liked the place so much we returned for another night.
unique place very pretty. amazing hand crafted building. nice view of ocean, sunset, sunrise.
The most beautiful place I’ve ever stayed at in all of my travels. This is partly due to the stunning rustic structure if Baja69 itself: all handmade, using sustainable materials such as adobe. From the balcony you can see all the way down to the iconic Hacienda Cerritos. It’s in large part due to the host Juve, however. There aren’t many people who can provide a home away from home, but Juve does just that with his kindness. Baja69 is tranquility embodied, at an excellent value. And the breakfasts are out of this world! Note that you will need a car to get around, but there are a number of reasonable options at SJD.
It was a great experience. The owners were super friendly! He knew my name before I entered the property and greeted me. I loved the entire concept.
Truely an amazing lodge. Greeted with kindness and treated like one of the family. I was a little weary on arrival to the lodge because I had gotten stuck in the sand while surfing in el pescadero. The owner was comforting, patient and very helpful. He offered help in carrying my luggage, showed me where the hose was to rinse my feet and gave me a cool baja69 sticker at check out. The kind and compassionate lady took my photo for her website when I was leaving. Very cool atmosphere, convenient location, breath taking views and great value for the dollar. Extremely satisfied. Thanks again guys!
Owners are very warm people and we felt very welcome. The architecture is very interesting with so much brick work. You can tell it was a work of love. Bed is king size, comfy and two large windows make the room bright and airy. The location near Cerritos Beach is excellent and even though you are fairly close to the main highway, the rooms are situated so that there is little to no road noise. In fact at night, you can hear the surf break at the beach which is a 5-10 minute walk away. Free parking is handy! Breakfast was good. Scrambled eggs, small dish of beans or 1/2 a quesadilla, Coffee and Orange juice. Not super large portion but adequate for 200 pesos. There are restaurants nearby at Cerritos so lots of choice.
Pulling on to the highway after leaving Baja69 is a bit of an adventure, especially if you use the turnoff with the Baja69 sign. Hard to see oncoming traffic and this felt a bit dangerous. We discovered by accident, an alternative sand road that goes under the main highway and comes out on the other side with a merge onto the highway heading towards Todos Santos. Go right at the fork after leaving the property. Otherwise, the property is excellent as it is and we really enjoyed our stay!
This place is amazing! Unfortunately we stayed only 2 nights but we had a great time! The owners are such a sweet and friendly people:) and they make awesome breakfast!!
Nothing
TODO LIMPIO, EXCELENTE ATENCIO, DESAYUNO DELICIOSO.
It’s very nice property. Simple and clean. You can walk to the beach. GPS took us to the wrong place. We elected to drive south and saw “Baja 69” sign on the side of the highway. Then turn right and go down a smooth dirt road about 200 yards. Plenty of free parking in back. Stop at the Agricole (Must See) before you arrive for groceries or a meal. Many thanks to lovely Alma who checked us in and escorted us to our room.
Extraordinary hospitality !!!
We love this place and have stayed more than once. We will be back.
The staff here is amazing. Juve and Alma are really sweet and will make you feel at home. It's a unique property with an interesting story. Ask Juve how it came to be. It's close enough to the action without being in the middle of the riff-raff, at least for now (Cerritos is growing fast). The rooms are large and well-appointed with great attention to detail. The bathrooms are huge with hot showers and excellent pressure. Juve and Alma will also cook you breakfast, which includes the best refried beans I've ever tasted. All of this with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean and the Sierra de la Laguna mountains.
What an amazing place!!! Nestled between the highway and the beach but all you hear is waves. Those giant windows were the selling point for me but the owners, and the breakfast, and the small details, and the backstory all added to the charm and our comfort. It was only a short walk to the beach and you could see whales from your balcony. We loved it, would recommend it, and will come back again!! The price point is amazing for the value you receive.
Tranquil location (easily accessible from main highway) in a uniquely constructed facility - rooms are both interesting and comfortable with spectacular sea views - especially at sunset! Easy walk to the beach and quick drive to great local eateries. Juve is a wonderful, accomodating host - and our stay was far too short - we'll have to return for a longer visit.
Only thing that would have made our visit better would have been staying longer...
The breakfast was so nice and lovely to sit and relax on the patio. The location is fine, it’s beautiful to look at the sea from your room but it’s a ways off. Otherwise it’s on a small, safe dirt road with other houses around it. It’s about a 15-20 minute drive to Todos Santos. The people who own it are amazing and are so emotionally invested in their cabanas. We would absolutely go back.
Absolutely nothing.
Owners were Super Friendly and Helpful! Very quiet location! Complex had built by the owner to be off the grid and Eco friendly! Lulled to sleep by sound of waves on the beach and breeze blowing through screened windows!
This was an incredible place to stay. Very clean and well set up. Able to open two gigantic windows allowing the breeze and the sound of the waves. Very comfortable bed, quiet and the views were amazing. A walk to a quiet beach with breathtaking sunsets. Am trying to figure out how we can be back in the area to stay again. The hosts were also very nice, even making us coffee in the morning. We travel a lot and it takes something special to wow us - this was it!!!
Absolutely Perfect!
It's a beautiful space. The room was large with artisanal style. They view was fantastic. The owner is incredibly helpful, kind, and interesting and made me breakfast on my first day.
would've been nice to have a fridge and table and chairs in the room. There were chairs and a table on the balcony.on the balcony .
Very clean room and nice design. Super friendly owner. Will definitely come back!
No access to some kind of appliance to heat food or water
The rooms are stylish and comfortable, with cool brickwork and huge windows that let in cool air. The walk to the beach is easy and straightforward. The breakfast has a few Mexican dishes for options, made to order. We enjoyed the chilaquiles and huevos rancheros while watching cactus wrens and doves in the courtyard below. The staff were warm and friendly.
Great property with unique rooms. The grounds and rooms are clean and comfortable. Short walk to the beach, big windows. Short drive to amenities in Cerritos. Ask for a main floor room if you have any mobility issues.
Owners were very friendly and helpful .
We had a vehicle which made everything a little easier to get around.
Wonderful hosts, great location, unique property.
it is a beautiful building in a stunning natural setting with lots of wildlife. The owner is very friendly.
Because of its remote setting it would be awesome to have a few more amenities such as fridges or ice. Having large coolers in the rooms was very helpful, but having ice available would have been amazing 😀
very friendly staff
lots of stairs not conveniently located for my purpose of visiting friends
The set up of the bed and the view is lovley. The room is very beautiful.
Provide access to an open kitchen where you can make coffee or tea. Or have it available in the rooms. Shower head is not very good and water looses its heat by the time it hits the body. Be able to use Jaír dryer.
In a great location set back from the beach. Great atmosphere. Juve is a great guy. he has literally built the place himself brick by brick. A very laid back place to stay. Ideal for my son and I.
Beautiful and very creatively designed and finished buildings and grounds. Very comfortable bed and room. Easy walk to a quiet beach. A great place to stay!
Amazing location, great sunrises, nice host! Nice and authentic rooms with a great view over the ocean. A tranquil, nice gem near Cerritos beach!
Everything was great! Just to know, as nearly everywhere in Baja California Sur you need a car to get to the location
This was a beautiful boutique style property. Juve, the owner, was so welcoming and accommodating.
The view, simplicity and aesthetics were unique and lovely. the owners Alma and Juve are amazing!
The only improvement I’d recommend is having a mino fridge in the room or communal fridge available.
Gorgeous brickwork and a gorgeous sunset view of the ocean. Quiet, spacious, well-appointed room with a comfortable bed and mosquito-netted windows. Whales skyhopping in the distance made the sunset unforgettable.
Location is a bit remote (no walkable restaurants), but for rest and peace, this is more of a plus, really.
The room was clean and comfortable. Juve and Alma were wonderful. They set out coffee, tea, and pastries each morning despite it not being mentioned as an inclusion at booking. The beach is a short 5-10 minute walk away. Cerritos Beach is about 20-25 minutes walk. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room. I would definitely come back and recommend this property.
Probably best for people with a car as there are no restaurants or stores within a walking distance.
location, secluded, amazing architecture and design, comfortable and spotless, wonderful breezes from the huge windows.
nothing
The rooms are even better than they look online- clean, quiet, modern, amazingly well done. You fall asleep to the sound of the ocean. The bathroom is also incredible, better than the one in my house. The highlight was probably the breakfast that is included- made to order, and no doubt the best breakfast we had the entire trip. Cerritos is such an amazing place, and the beach near the hotel is swimmable and much quieter than the nearby surf beach. There is no AC, but the large windows have screens and can be opened for a crossbreeze, we slept well.
AC would be nice but it isn't necessary. Having some filtered/bottled water in the room would be great. Otherwise, perfect!
loved everything lovely people. fantastic to wake up and see the views. fantastic area/location dont tell everyone.
Muy amable el anfitrión y las instalaciones muy limpias
