Sungulwane Private Game Lodge

Stunning lodge with awesome staff and very knowledgeable rangers !! Beautifully appointed rooms and a great common lounge area … and the food was perfect !! We had stunning game sightings and saw 83 different kinds of birds in the 4 days !!

Our stay at Sungulwane was unbelievable! Neil and Ryan took us on great game drives. 11 Lions on one drive is certainly one to remember. The ranger coffee, Mochachocarula, in the morning while watching the hippos, or where they watching us, and the afternoon gin and tonics at the viewpoint were a highlight. The staff, especially Kwanele and Sikho, with Simphiwe and Khanyi, made our stay memorable with beautiful lunch and dinner settings. The chefs created wonderful dishes with prawns, pork belly, rack of lamb and awesome vegetarian dishes. We had a great lunch at the hide while watching the Dagga Boys and Kingfishers. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and offered stunning views of the bush. The outside shower was a treat. Thank you Sungulwane!

Absolutely no negatives to our stay other than it came to an end. The staff are incredible, so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms were beautiful and every comfort is thought of, including a golf cart to shuttle you to your room when you want. Special shout out to the indoor and outdoor showers in each room!! Game drives were a highlight and had once in a lifetime sightings including a lion kill.

Everything was wonderful-- delicious and varied food options, comfortable and attractive suite, friendly and attentive staff, knowledgeable and accommodating guide, beautifully peaceful setting with a pool alongside a watering hole with constantly visiting animals, uncrowded relaxed luxury at every step. All of these aspects made for a most memorable safari stay. Thank you!

The experience was absolutely perfect! The rooms, the staff, and the food were amazing. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Neil the guide was excellent – professional and full of knowledge about nature and wildlife. Highly recommended :)

The beds were really hard that I couldn’t sleep well. Also we found that the dinners were no as good as expected

High-end service expectations met on all levels. Game drives were exceptional with very knowledgeable and customer driven guides. Facilities, while limited, were superb in every way. Very accommodating staff in all areas. Food in the dining room was gourmet level.

Excellent safari lodge - very friendly. Great guide (Jordan) - saw the big 5 including after hours extra trip to find leopard on road. Comfortable vehicle. Ponchos needed for pouring rain in one trip did not spoil experience. Very friendly managers and staff. Would highly recommend. Birthday cake produced too and great vegan food for one of our party provided.

Recently stayed at this lodge in the Zululand area of South Africa, and it was an incredible experience. The property was fantastic, the staff were amazing, and the food was very good. A solid 4.5-star experience – highly recommended!

The Lodge and rooms are spacious and very comfortable. All possible amenities are provided. The meals were delicious and very well presented. More than adequate to sustain you for the day.

The game viewing was a little disappointing. Saw the big 4 over 4 game drives. Nature and scenery is very beautiful

We were delighted by our stay at Sungulwane. The property is beautiful. The chef is phenomenal. Our guide in game drives, Daniel, was extremely passionate and knowledgeable, and a wonderful story teller. We saw all but the loeopard of the big 5, but we also saw a cheetah and had a great lion sighting.

Sungulwane stands out as the best lodge I’ve ever been to. Management, staff , gamedrives.. special shout out to Kyle. My son can’t stop talking about what he learned from you. everyone went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. It was my son’s birthday celebration. A cake was arranged without me even asking. What a surprise !! Thank you thank you
