Hard to find something we did not like. Everything was truly exceptional.

Breathtaking location. Very clean rooms. Very friendly and professional staff including Abhishek, Thilini, Prabhu, Kelum and the security staff. We hope to return to this excellent venue someday. Thanks for the memories.

Schönes Pool, direkter Zugang zum Strand. Zimmer okay. Personal sehr nett, etwas schwierig manchmal sich zu verständigen, konnten nur wenig englisch

Lage ist eher nicht so ideal, außer man will wirklich nur herumliegen und chillen. Hotel sehr klein, Boutique Hotel, Lobby Abendessensberreich sowie Frühstück, Pool alles in einem Bereich. Strand zwar schön aber öffentlich. Zimmer war in Ordnung aber für knapp 500 die Nacht ehrlicherweise nichts besonderes. Wir waren in der Off-Season deshalb war es auch etwas günstiger, mehr würde ich für das Angebot dort nicht bezahlen.

Rooms beautifully appointed and stunning location. Wonderful food - tasty and a large range of choices. The pool was outstanding and the two private beaches lovely (albeit one a little dirty due to destructive ways).

Staff mixed up our celebrations which should have been special and seemed a bit confused and unsure at times. The wrong room was given to the person celebrating their birthday, so the special entrance was wasted. Great little birthday cake bought out, but not when all people were present. When our transport to the airport didn’t arrive, the supervisor was not helpful at all which was the first time in our time in Sri Lanka we felt let down by the service.

Our stay at Ahu Bay was truly unforgettable. The views are simply stunning—absolutely breathtaking from every corner of the resort. The rooms are stylish, spotless, cozy, and luxurious, all while offering incredible ocean views. What made our experience even more special was the exceptional hospitality. The staff were warm, welcoming, generous, and highly attentive throughout our stay. A special thank you to Clement, our butler, who went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and kindly arranged a late check-out until 5 PM due to our late flight. We would also like to thank Abhishek and every member of the team for their professionalism and genuine care. The resort offers easy beach access, beautiful weather, and a unique open-air lobby concept that perfectly blends luxury with nature. The food was delicious, fresh, and healthy, and we found the prices very reasonable for the quality provided. Every dish we ordered was excellent, especially the pasta, chicken burger, and the fresh coconut water—which is an absolute must while enjoying the spectacular views. One of the highlights of our stay was experiencing the kindness of the Sri Lankan people. The hotel thoughtfully provided complimentary biscuits in our room and prepared a generous snack pack with sandwiches, fruits, cookies, and juice for our journey to the airport. This was especially appreciated during the comfortable ride in their luxurious van and was a wonderful gesture that perfectly reflected their hospitality. Ahu Bay is a perfect combination of luxury, comfort, natural beauty, and heartfelt service. We cannot wait to return.

This was our first stop in Sri Lanka, and it set the bar incredibly high. Everything was perfect, especially the wonderful staff (Abhishek, Malaysia, Kusun, Clement, life guard,…) who made us feel truly cared for from the moment we arrived and took care of all details. The head chef even came to ask for our preferences, and when we mentioned we wanted to try Sri Lankan food, he prepared a full, delicious meal just for us — such a thoughtful touch. We also received a special gift upon our check-out, which made the experience even more memorable. We later tried another hotel in a different area, but it didn’t compare at all — we ended up cancelling and coming back to Ahu Bay. It really felt like coming home. That alone says everything about how exceptional this place is.

Beautiful view. Amazing and attentive staff. Food was great, especially the Sri Lankan prawn curry, chili prawn spaghetti, breakfast.

Food and drinks were relatively expensive. Would be nice if there were more activities to do. Although it was very relaxing and quiet, it would be nice if there were more people around.

The Service !! It was so personalised and I loved that they remembered my dietary preferences. It felt so peaceful and personal since there are not many guests and it feels like you are there on your own! The beach was great we had a lot of fun. They even provided sunscreen for me and if you want they go to a store for you. They also gave us an unexpected goodbye gift and a happy anniversary cake for free. It is so clean, comfortable and the view from our bay view room was amazing. Purely relaxing!! If you want to just calm down and relax this is the best place. Lastly, I love that the breakfast was included and that it was Menue based and not buffet style. And we were able to choose so much from the menue (it wasn’t limited to just one thing included) so nice. The food was awesome too !!

We loved the view of the beach and coastline from the resort. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. A real highlight was the food, it set the bar high for our time in Sri Lanka. Our room was conveniently located and had a wonderful view of the water from the balcony. There are only 13 rooms in the resort so it’s very quiet. We enjoyed evening walks along the nearby sandy long beach and morning runs along the narrow lanes outside the resort where we were greeted with wide smiles and waves from friendly locals.

Stunning views and fantastic bar music set a perfect vibe. The lush interior grounds create a truly relaxing atmosphere, with friendly staff always trying their best. Rooms are spotless, design is gorgeous, and the food is delicious!

Very expensive overall, and some interactions felt like a rip-off, e.g., quoting €200 for a taxi you can get for €40. Beach staff hung out boozing with local friends

Die kleine Bucht und der Ausblick sind einfach nur traumhaft, man kann sich kaum satt sehen und daher den ganzen Tag genüsslich am Pool oder Strand verbringen:).

Manchmal waren die Dienstleister (Taxi/Ausflüge und co.) sehr aufdringlich und preislich einfach unverschämt. Sie wollten für eine Fahrt nach Colombo fast den 3fachen Preis als üblich. Ebenso hätten wir uns einen kleinen Fitnessraum / Fläche für Sport gewünscht aber das ist natürlich Typsache;).

Wow this place is simply outstanding! We stayed here for two nights and we enjoyed our time a lot! Sadly not longer. Everything was well organized from the check-in to check-out. Ahu Bay is one of those places that instantly make you feel like home!The Staff working at Ahu Bay is doing an exceptional job! For example they did bring fresh water all the time when we were chilling at the pool or eating something. Talking about food, the food was very delicious 😍 We had dinner and breakfast here and we liked it a lot! You should definitely try it out and also try the good cocktails they have 🍹The Infinity Pool with the stunning ocean views was our highlight! We really enjoyed relaxing there! Sadly we were a bit unlucky with the weather but we made the best out of it. The room was really nicely designed and had everything we needed! The bed was so comfortable!Everyone working here was so kind and friendly from the first moment till the last good bye. They even gave us a little gift and we could still use the pool after the checkout! Overall the experience here was exceptional and we will come back for sure! Hopefully soon, thanks for everything 😊☀️😎🇱🇰

This property is very nice, clean, and comfortable. I like their attention to detail like putting a portable Bluetooth speaker that you can take with you to the beach. Overall very comfortable and nice with exceptional service.

The resort is very nice, but not for the money. It is crazily overpriced for what it is. Don’t get me wrong I did enjoy my time thoroughly, but can’t help but feel cheated. Another thing, there is only one restaurant with not a lot of menu options.

The best hotel I have stayed in my entire life… and that’s saying a lot! I stayed in 8 accommodation while in Sri Lanka and this was the best. Beautiful rooms with a stunning view right on the beach front. Food and service was amazing and staff were incredibly friendly and super helpful, especially as I was solo travelling :)

I stayed at Ahu Bay Resort for four days and three nights during the second week of October 2025. Pros: • Villa 101 is beautiful, very well organized, and tastefully designed. • The cleanliness standard inside the villa is outstanding. • The swimming pool is fantastic, and the sunset view from the pool is absolutely outstanding.

Cons: • The resort is very small with only one restaurant. • Food prices are high compared to other places, and portions are quite small for the price. • The beach area is small and not as clean as the rooms. • Electricity was cut off a few times during our stay (including AC and Wi-Fi). • Water was cut off once during our stay. • There is new construction nearby, causing some noise — quite disturbing while sunbathing. • Several people on the beach constantly offered tour activities, which was annoying. • Many staff members do not speak English well, making communication difficult at times. • I requested a one-hour late checkout after a four-day, three-night stay, but it was declined in an unkind manner. The standards of a five-star hotel should be higher than this.

Beautiful hotel set in a lovely location on the beach. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast was in a lovely dinning area overlooking the sea. Our room was comfortable with a lovely view of the sea but needed more cupboard space. We were given a present by the hotel manager on our last day which was rather a nice gesture.

Location and views are amazing. The beach is so close and the view from room is incredible. Big shoutout to Amanda, the lovely Balinese spa therapist, had an amazing 90 min massage. Nikanga, the lovely property manager, took great care of us and arranged for a thoughtful “happy anniversary cake” in the room that he ensured was dairy free to suit our food sensitivity. Staff in general were very nice and helpful.

The food in general could use some improvement. It’s not in any way bad, just could be better, compared to other similar hotels we’ve stayed at.

We had a great 4 night stay at Ahu Bay. It was nice that Nilanga messaged ahead to discuss arrival time. Having a room right on the beach was a real treat and the private pool was kept spotless by the team. The team couldn’t do more for us during our stay, making adjustments to cocktails to suit ours tastes. We ate at hotel twice and both times really enjoyed the dishes we tried, it’s clear there’s a talented chef in the kitchen!

We absolutely loved the food! The chef is incredible and we had 3 x melas a day at the restaurant there. Each outdoing each other. I also loved the beach. I was worried about strong surf. But the little bay was perfection. I am a strong swimmer and feel comfortable in the surf, but this was super fun, playful and OMG Warm! We had the pool one bedroom with the pool on the beach. What a dream. An absolutely wonderful way to finish our honeymoon. Noting that we planned to and did stay here in the whole time, not leaving (why would you) so 2 x nights was pretty great here.
