Reviewed Mar 10, 2024The Paras Raj is a nice hotel in an unassuming location just outside the old city, a straight shot via a 7-8 minute tuk-tuk ride that you can easily hail, since the hotel is on a main street, for around Rs 150. The beds are comparatively quite nice and the bathroom is good too. The toilet is relatively strong. The water heater in the room is good but only lasts about 2-3 minutes per shower and takes at least 10 minutes to fully heat up. The trick to circumventing this issue (at least somewhat) is to take a military-style shower to make the hot water last longer. But it’s a good way to get you to conserve water in a semi-arid state. The Paras Raj also has good room service and there’s also a convenience store next door. The floors and hallways are hard surfaces, so they can amplify the noise from outside the room, including conversations, YouTube videos, and outside traffic / honking horns. The room can get warm, but there’s a good combination of A/C and ceiling fans that can counter this quite quickly and thoroughly.
