Casa Isabel Hostel

Very kind and accommodating staff with easy check in. A/C was pretty strong. Bedding was basic but felt very clean. Generally, everything felt sanitary. Fine silog breakfast with yummy coffee / chocolate. No bugs or pests spotted, but dogs on the premises! Walking distance to pharmacy, beach, and restaurants which was great.

We were placed in the yellow room which was jarringly yellow haha. Very little natural lighting so we had to keep the overhead lights on. The water was a little bit spotty in the shared bathroom so just be prepared to use the tabo, but wasn't necessarily bad.

I like the location.

Nice staff

Emplacement calme, très proche de la plage. Les dames de l'accueil sont très gentilles. L'omelette au petit-déjeuner était bonne. La cuisine est équipée au minimum mais nous avons pu nous faire un plat de légumes et l'hôtel nous a même prêté un tupperware pour garder au frigo et réchauffer le lendemain. Location de scooter sur place pour 350 la journée. Un prix imbattable à moins de 650 la nuit, PDJ inclus!

La chambre est très petite et le lit double ne mesure que 120 cm de large. Nous avons pris peur en arrivant mais finalement en rangeant bien les affaires et en mettant les sacs sous le lit, on arrivait à marcher dans la chambre et l'étroitesse du lit ne nous a pas empêchées de dormir. Il faisait chaud dans la chambre mais avec le ventilo ça passait. La propreté n'est pas toujours parfaite, surtout au niveau des cheveux dans la sdb et des rats qui se promènent près des poubelles. Le wifi est lent.

Excellent little budget hostel in the heart of Sante Fe and a 5 minute walk to beach. When we stayed, everything was very clean and comfortable. The main shared toilet always had toilet paper, soap and even shampoo! We paid extra for an AC room which was worth it as it was super strong. They had a free hot/cold drinking water dispenser, large kitchen with gas cooker & microwave. All the staff were really happy and friendly, it was very enjoyable eating breakfast every day and the staff even let us do some laundry. We also, rented a motorcycle at a super good rate of 350 pesos a day with helmets.

but the hostel needs a lot of repairs. Some of the toilet doors are broken, the rooms are very small and narrow and without windows..

The place feels very homely and the staff are very hospitable. Also met a good bunch of people within the area since it is located near establishments, and the beach. Island life felt very good in this place.

The locker was with dust. I didn't feel the room was very clean.

The toilets could have been slightly nicer

The location was quite good.

Poor security, very bad lockers. Dark room with little natural light. Broken and/or missing insect screens. Narrow & poky corridors with steep stairs. No toilet seat in one of the toilets.

Plenty off areas to chill out upstairs and downstairs. Quick walk into town good value for money basic rooms and shared shower but all clean.

What I like about the place was definitely the location and the a/c was working well and I’m a dog lover so I really got happy when I saw 2 big baby dogs

well I’m a back packer I usually cook my food by my self I stayed in this hostel over a month and it was so disgusting to see big rats on the kitchen they where basically doing what ever day want i even saw one rat literally doing yoga (the cobra) in the cot board it was so frustrating can you imagine go to cook and be thinking on the rats all the time ? I spoke whit the manager more that once about it and they never did anything not even a trap nothing that’s pretty sad because the place has potential they really need to do something whit the kitchen specially if it’s a hostel because as a back packer for us is very importer to have a decent kitchen nothing to fancy just a place where we can cook whit dignity anyways I’ve tried to take it as much good I can I even make a draw about the rat doing yoga haha by the way the rat was bigger that the dogs haha just joking I’ll share photos of the place tho

Room was so small with 2 tiny windows it was like a prison cell and bright green. Door opened out as no room to open in Air con was very noisy Garden seating area packed away early so you couldn't sit with the cosy lights. No WiFi in room, only kitchen.

I had a very nice stay. For the price I didn't expect much and everything was perfect. It was clean and the beds comfortable.

We enjoy our 2 nights stay in Casa Isabel. Near everything in Sta Fe. Love the free Bfast and they have common area for the free wifi. Also plus points for the free drinking water. Thank you Casa Isabel 😍

Location and helpful staff

Room extremely small and can usse a paint jobÀ, better rooms within walking distance bigger and cheaper, shower in shred bath didn't work and had to be replaced, no toulet seat,no hot water, very poor Internet, when it worked,

Very overpriced, Payed 13€ per night, this price is for really high end hostels in south east Asia, but considering that the facilities are between poor and acceptable, I find this place highly overpriced...

No Trashbin in the room

infested with ants woke up with multiple bites every day even after wearing repellent have many dogs roaming around (no harm but very dirty and have visible fleas on their fur). rooms were sold out online however it was just me in a 6 bed alone - told all other rooms were full on arrival even tho I came in a party of 2. the host stayed in the same room as me (the staff were not aware but later said she sleeps there all the time -sus if you ask me, especially as the bed was not made till hours after I arrived). either way I felt racially discriminated against during my stay (I am POC, also heard a diff staff member refer to me as an American negro (I am not even American, but know culturally they call many foreigners Americans). it was a decent stay and good breakfast but def had racial discrimination. even for showering, they told me I had to use an outside shower when I later discovered there were 2 inside showers on my floor! paid for an ac room but the ac didn’t work at all. they would not move me even after complaining. they said the temp had to be on 30 in the room and the room smelt like smoke and I couldn’t rest there during the day.

we had a great stay. we love the free breakfast and you can have lots of options. near the restaurants and 5 min walk to the beach! very nice staff (hello ate gema and Marsia). overall, our stay was good.

wifi - well sometimes it’s just bot working in the kitchen area. but it’s okay since we have back ups like po ket wifi bathroom- broken door locks and handles and there’s a small hole in the door that you can be seen inside the shower area.

I like their staff - friendly and accommodating. The place is a good value for the money especially when traveling on a budget. You can save a lot staying here especially during holidays.

A/C isn't completely maintained or cleaned. It was dusty - we had to cover it with a wet cloth to filter the dust. The floor was unswept.

No water pressure, the door to the bathroom in my dorm was broken so we had to us the bathroom down the hall (not really a problem, but would have been even better with ensuited bathroom

Big, colorful and welcoming "old style" hostel, with dormitories and some double rooms, in good position. Beds are comfortable.

In the dormitories the lockers/drawers are very small, not even enough for a laptop. Wifi is slow, and usable only in the kitchen.

Owners really put a lot of thought into creating this hostel for guests. You can tell by the design that they tried to encompass all this things a good hostel should have. Loved the free breakfast and honest info from the staff.

Like most tourist places affected by Covid, this place needs some maintenance work done. Nevertheless for what you pay for is still a good value, especially since this is a hostel and you come here for cheap accommodation and to meet people.

Price was amazing! Also located close to the city center and 5 minutes to the beach.

Very basic. Would recommend taking the AC-Room because it's sooo hot.

The stairs abit small and I'm afraid to slide by accident and also the bathroom but can be fix. The pillow is too big also and I didnt sleep well

i love the homey feel the owners give and the front garden is very nice to relax in. facilities are fine for what you pay for and the shared room is airy and big.

The location is great, near the center. the staff were very nice.

The main problem was the animals- we had huge spiders and a lot of ants in the room. we also saw a rat in the property. we felt very disappointed and decided not to spend the night there.
