The rooms are spacious and clean, all you need for a dreamy night in paradise
Everything was amazing!
Where it was situated in the Jungle..!! So peaceful and tranquil looking at the stars from my patio just before bedtime..
The road into the property is a bumpy ride and could definitely use some improvement.!! And that’s it .. !!
Polecamy restaurację z najlepszym jedzeniem w Port Barton i przepięknym widokiem. Pozdrawiamy i już tęsknimy!
Beautiful view point, nature, genuine place , sounds of nature , nice and helpful staff and owners , highly recommend !
The view is stunning. The property is perfect for a mountain get away. Its quiet. It was an instant reset to circadian rhythm. We had such an amazing experience at the property we didn’t leave it even to go to the beach.
The coffee was the only thing that left a feeling of something to be desired.
Everyone who gives 110% at work eventually needs a place to truly disconnect. I was looking for peace, nature, and authenticity — and I found it here. Green Hill Restaurant & Cottages is an intimate resort located high in the jungle, with a view that impresses from the very first moment. The silence, tranquility, and atmosphere created by the owners make you feel special right away. I walked there from White Beach — the owners kindly offered assistance, but the walk through the jungle was part of the experience. Upon arrival: a warm welcome, freshly squeezed juice, and that moment when you sit down and simply take in the view. This is not mass tourism or a crowded resort. This is a place with soul — with discreet yet attentive service and a level of care that’s rare to find today. The food deserves a separate mention — fresh fish straight from the catch, original recipes, and cooking driven by passion. The sizzling sisig served on a hot plate? Absolutely outstanding. A peaceful night, sleeping with the doors open under the stars. No air conditioning — and surprisingly, none is needed. White Beach, which I reached on foot, is one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen — and I’ve seen quite a few around the world. If you’re looking for a place away from crowds, noise, and artificial experiences — this is it. The only downside? I stayed far too short. I will definitely be back.
The view is breathtaking, the atmosphere and the silence of the jungle is just wonderful!
Z całego serca polecamy i pozdrawiamy super właścicieli!
The location and the view from the cabin.
The owners were really unfriendly, on arrival the gentleman rudely told his Filipino staff member to check us in. Entering the common/dining area felt like we were imposing on a family home. They only spoke loudly to each other in Polish, which really killed the tranquility of the place. One morning I had the pleasure of listening to them argue from their cabin and on returning that evening I’m pretty sure I heard them having sex. We spent all of our leisure time elsewhere and did consider spending our leisure time elsewhere. I was expecting the facilities to be basic but a few improvements wouldn’t go amiss. There were lots of dead bugs on my bedding.
The location is superb - views, night sky, jungle sounds… the staff so friendly and helpful, and breakfast is also delicious.
Everything was fine, maybe the cottage a little bit small to fit our bags and stuff inside, and the bathroom was downstairs, but you’re in the middle of the forest!
The location is amazing and the cottages are just lovely with a view to the sea. Also the surrounding with the garden and the common area is very chilled and wonderful to see. On top of this you have coconut beach nearby just 15min walking.
Toilet outside of the cottage so not very comfortable but it’s fine. No internet connection at all, while WiFi could be useful in the area where internet data are also not available.
---------------
This is just the perfect place to disconnect, no caos, no tourists, just you and the sounds of the nature. The location is a bit far from the town and the road to get there is not the best but the hosts tell you in advance, so you can always change your mind. The cottage is basic but yet comfortable. The view is breathtaking, I was speechless. There are no hot water and no WiFi but for me it wasn’t a big deal. White beach is around 15/20 min by walking in the middle of the jungle which is so relaxing! I also spotted a little monkey and a lizard! The hosts are welcoming and available for anything. I arrived a day later due to problems with my flights, and they prepared me some dinner even if the kitchen was closed, I really appreciated that. This is so far the best place I’ve ever been.
Leaving 😭
This place is amazing! Located in the heart of the jungle, with breathtaking views, it lets you truly feel the magic of the island. Mornings with a cup of coffee surrounded by lush greenery and the sounds of nature were absolutely unforgettable. Food in the Philippines can be hit or miss, but in this place we truly got our appetite back. Simply delicious! Every meal was thoughtfully prepared, fresh, and full of flavor – you can really see and taste the passion behind it. The owners are wonderful people – travelers with their little son who have created this place with heart and great dedication. You can tell they’ve poured all their travel experience from around the world into it. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and authentic – we felt more like guests staying with friends than at accommodation. If you’re looking for peace, nature, stunning views, and genuine hospitality, this is the perfect place. We will definitely be back! 💚
Nothing
Breathtaking view and homely atmosphere
Pyszne śniadania i dania restauracyjne.
It was a beautiful place and the family that runs it are super nice and helpful! The food was great and a nice little walk to the beach. I would definitely recommend this place It’s hard to come by such beautiful views :)
There wasn’t really anything that bothered me, the road was a little muddy but that’s what to expect when you’re in the jungle and definitely worth it!!
Nu roze vlekken in onze kleding.
Grace and the team were lovely and tried their best in difficult situations. The views are amazing and white beach is still beautiful.
No running water/ shower/ flushing toilet/ due to pipe from town being broken in typhoon. No sustained power due to solar / generate broken. No beer low availability on food / drinks. I understand this was due to previous weeks weather but when asked about the situation we were advised everything was fine. We would have appreciated to be informed of the above problems and we would have made a decision to stay or not before travelling 12 hrs to get there.

Ottima sistemazione immersa nella natura, posizione strategica e super vicina a White beach. Personale e gentile e super accogliente, in particolare Grace
Views
Food was substandard, mosquitoes, no Wi-Fi in rooms, long walk through the jungle to get there’. The place needs a serious makeover.
You can experience true Robinson-style tourism and life in isolation — no neighbors, no loud parties. Just a place for relaxation and complete peace of mind. The person who welcomed us was a lovely local girl who spoke good English and was very helpful throughout our stay. On our last day, we asked if we could have breakfast earlier, at 7 AM (since it’s normally served at 8), and she kindly prepared it for us without hesitation.
The room has no air conditioning, only a fan — but electricity is cut off at midnight and doesn’t return until morning. We couldn’t sleep because of the heat. The room is also poorly maintained, with a lot of dust and insects (ants and cockroaches). There were even dead bugs on the mosquito net canopy above the bed that no one had cleaned. While I understand that hygiene standards may vary from my home country, this definitely needs improvement. Coffee is not included in breakfast and is charged an additional €2, which seems excessive for a simple Nescafé with powdered milk. We had read that the location was remote and difficult to reach, but we didn’t expect the road to be that wild. The tuk-tuk barely makes it through the potholes — the ride feels unsafe and you’re just waiting for it to tip over.
Pleasant and helpful staff and a nice chilled and relaxing place
I love the location away from the bustling of the centre. So relax. The Views Wow Wow. The noise of the various insects and birds. The whole tranquillity loves it.oh the home cooked meal.
Whar not to like should have stayed longer
What an amazing place! Off the beaten track, in the middle of the jungle, with delicious food and the best sunset view in whole Palawan! And the people! Special thanks to Grace for being super kind, welcoming and helpful with organizing island hopping, transport, etc. We really appreciate it ❤️ If you’re looking for an adventure and want to be close to nature, this place is for you 😊
Spotlessly clean and comfortable with wonderful welcoming staff. Great location to white beach and coconut beach. Restaurant food was delicious.
We loved the remote location but it’s not accessible by scooter in rainy season so walk to town (1hr) or hire a tricycle. Get the breakfast package since there’s nowhere to get food nearby. The vibe in the bar at night is a bit drab - could do with some music for ambience. We stayed 3 nights so went to the jungle bar next door twice instead which was very comfortable and laid back with music & atmosphere.
The view from the cottage is beautiful and location in a jungle is very nice, also accessibility to the white beach is good, free breakfast was a nice plus. Quality of the food is good
We didn’t feel very taken care of, in 4 days there was no room service, neither question if everything was okay and if we have all we need. No one cleaned the bathroom, and would have been nice to change our bed sheets - as it is very humid - we didn’t ask for it though. The prices of the food in restaurant are definitely overpriced. I was thinking prices were high because of the logistics, until I went to eat in the neighbours place. Hope this can help, wish you the best !
The view was absolutely stunning, the nearest beach was spectacular and the food was very tasty. The host was also warm and welcoming.
We knew there was a trek to get there but it didn't make it any easier with 20kg of luggage strapped to us. The path was uneven and rocky and the final few metres were extremely steep and difficult to get up. The view at the top was absolutely incredible but unfortunately our room was the most basic room we've ever stayed in, and to make matters worse it wasn't even properly sealed from the outside, meaning cockroaches and other bugs made their way in through the open floor boards. There was no furniture at all in the room other than the bed which had a dirty mosquito net with huge holes in it. Our bedding was also stained. We wanted to sleep with the light on as we were worried about bugs getting into our bed but the electricity cut out in the night on both nights meaning our fan also went off. After the first night we almost booked a different hotel but the amazing views the following morning stopped us. This is definitely not a relaxing break if you don't like bugs flying around your head in the middle of the night - we both agreed that the room was really badly represented in the photos online. Also the outside toilet had swarms of bugs buzzing around at night. We both really wanted to like this place but felt we had to be clear on how basic the room is so other people don't make the same mistake!
We really liked the quiet place. There is no signal which is very good. But they have starlink wifi in the restaurant which is really good for work or other stuff. (Attention, only works in the evening when there is electricity. The view is magnificent. If you want to go there by motorbike you should rent the Honda XRM and be a confident driver.
The matress is only few centimeters thick, laying on a wooden frame. So the bed is quite hard but you get used to it after a day. You should keep in mind that it is quite far away from Port Barton, so we suggest staying 2-3 nights in the lodge and maybe some days in PB to enjoy the nightlife. A sad point is that we got the impression that the owner is slightly using the fact that the lodge is far away. So the water is quite overpriced. Also the charged 100 P more for the transfer from PB to EN than all the other hotels in PB. We knew the price in the town proper, so we asked why there is the difference. The owner told us with his operator we would be dropped off in front of our hotel in EN. So we were happy. But in fact it was the exact same company as everywhere else and we where not dropped at the hotel. This is no big issue, but it always gives a bad feeling.
The property is beautiful. It is off the beaten path, tucked into nature and overlooks a pristine coastline and bay. The staff is kind, and the grounds are well maintained.
My room, chocolate hills, had an overwhelming odor coming from the bathroom, assuming corroded pipes or contaminated water. While this happening is understandable for a property nestled so deeply into nature, the odor was intolerable to sleep with and made me physically sick (vomiting and diarrhea). Maybe it was just this room, or perhaps I’m sensitive, but I would check the odor of the bathroom upon checkin and if there is anything off, have it addressed immediately before going to sleep, as the scent progressed and worsened throughout the night. I tried sleeping with a facemask to help, and eventually tied a sarong around my face to keep the smell out. Thomas was kind and apologetic about the situation the next morning, and I was reluctant to write the review due to the owners retaliation in comments, but staying at this place, though beautiful, made me physically sick and I’d like to pass that along to other nature-loving travelers. This is not a complaint against the style of the property, but an objective recount of what happened at my stay. Everything else was really beautiful, would have loved to enjoy it more.
Beautiful views. Great hosts. Delicious food. Peaceful. Very close to two wonderful beaches with the best in our opinion being white beach the closest to green hill!
What a view! Amazing. Beautiful accommodation and clean room/bathroom. Added bonus was chatty cats!
Steep hill to reach the property but it’s worth it!
Very nice food, awesome location, great view
The mattress was not very comfy
-Thomas is an excellent host, very present and available for the customers, gives tips, helps for transportation, etc… -The common area is pleasant with an amazing view! -Also the view from the room is great ! -Very calm place, real immersion in the jungle -Proximity with white beach
Too expensive for the low comfort. Room is unaesthetic. Bad smell coming from the bathroom When it’s raining, impossible to move from the lodge because of the slippery road
The view was amazing. The food at the restaurant was very nice with great flavours. The team were helpful and very polite. The chef/ Assistant to the owner did a great job of making sure things were right. The owner Thomas was also always available to help when needed. Great place will definitely recommend and be back
In the level of accommodation that I booked cold showers. But really that is me being a soft. Ok
The views from our balcony and the restaurant were outstanding . The food in the restaurant was all delicious . The staff were very friendly . It was in walking distance to White Beach and Coconut Beach which were both beautiful especially Coconut Beach .
The trip from Port Barton was horrendous in a tuk tuk . There had been rain and the road was thick mud and rocks . The tuk tuk can only go so far and then you walk which is fine unless you are carrying your luggage . The final bit of the walk was up a very steep hill
Amazing Cottages with the best view!! We can highly recommend this amazing accommodation. Thomas built this one with a lot of love. The food is also amazing. Please ignore the bad reviews. Green hill is a bit far away BUT it’s totally worth it. It is also just max 15 Minuten to walk to white beach and from there it is only a 5 minute boat ride to port Barton. We enjoyed this place a lot and it was one of our highlights.
Food & view and stuff was great
but amenities like towel and toilet paper weren't replaced at all
We had an unforgettable stay at the Green Hill Cottages! The location is absolutely stunning, nestled deep in the jungle with breathtaking views that take your breath away. It truly feels like a hidden paradise. The cottages themselves are charming. The serenity of the surroundings ensured complete relaxation, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat to recharge, this is the place to be. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a tranquil, nature-filled escape!
- Grace was friendly and helped us booking excursions and transport. - Food was great and nice views. - Comfortable bed. - Great for someone who loves adventure, doesn’t mind getting dirty and wants an escape.
I’m hoping the following will help future guests before booking as we wish we had known but didn’t think it was made clear when we booked: - It is a 45 minute (at least) very bumpy TukTuk journey from the Port Barton to as close as they will take you and then a 10 minute walk through mud and up an extremely steep hill to get to the property. Some TukTuk drivers will refuse to drive the journey at all as it is so bad and our TukTuk even got stuck we had to push it. - The electricity is solar powered without a generator which means no charging devices, no fan or lights after 12pm. The cabins are extremely dark so you have to leave the door open to get any light in the morning as the power isn’t back on so it allows all the bugs to get in. - Separate shower and bathroom. You have to walk down a path away from the cabin to use the toilet in the middle of the night or the shower. The flush also does not always work. It was raining whilst we were there and I got drenched at 5am just going to the loo. - WiFi only available in the seating area by reception. There is quite literally nothing else to do in the area except what you have with you or your imagination so bare that in mind. - For the price we paid of £30 p/n it really is not acceptable to provide towels with stains on or a mosquito net with holes in. We came back from dinner and there were mosquitos/flies/eggs on the bed from the holes. I had to stick stickers over them (pics attached of the bugs).
I guess if you wanted to sit around and stare at your phone for a few days it's okay. Really nothing else much to do>
Don't use google to find the greenhill, it will take you miles away from the actual location. All you need to know is go to whites beach and keep on going to the end of the road. Don't go if it has been raining because the road is really muddy. I arrived tired and muddy and the girl led me to my room which was a little nipa hut about 8 ft by 10 ft. I paid for and had a confirmation of a bungalow 176 square feet with a private bathroom and balcony. When i refused to stay in the little hut with a bathroom down the path. I was told that i would have to pay an extra thousand pesos a night and i told the girl i would give her 2,000 pesos. She then told me that the rooms were booked for the next night and i would have to move back to the nipa hut I checked the websites and they still had the 176 square foot bungalow's available. I had my breakfast which was pretty good and was loading my luggage onto my motorbike when the girl came down with the telephone and told me her boss wanted to talk to me. He demanded that i give the girl 2,000 more pesos after i already spent 4200 pesos to stay for one night. he told me he had all my information and he was going to call the police and have them stop me at the airport so i couldn't leave the island. I've never been treated so badly any place in the world i have traveled.
The view is amazing
* HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE * First things first, the resort is located deep inside the jungle and what is not clearly stated is how unacceptably HARD is to get there. You can only reach the place with mountain motors or 4X4 and that’s on the good days. If it rains or it has rained (which happens 80% of the time) the road is extremely muddy to the point you have no access and you have to spend 40’ in a tuk tuk (if you re lucky, because most drivers refuse to even go to this road) which drops you off 500m away from the resort and you literally have to walk in ankle-deep mud on an elevation for 20’ with your luggages on your shoulders. As a reasonable person might have guessed for these 500m a transport should have been provided by the resort (or any kind of help). We immediately contacted the owner who was extremely rude and the only thing he said is that it’s a jungle resort and it’s not his problem and we should have brought backpacks and we should leave. After a while he agreed to pick us up with his jeep. When we arrived we were shocked of how small the room is (you literally cannot fit a single bag in there and the bathroom is at the ground level). Moreover, in 40 degrees heat they implied that most days have no power during the night and can’t use a generator because it’s too noisy (the rooms only have a broken tiny ventilator) . There is also no WiFi in the rooms. As you understand there is no way to leave the resort after sunset, so you are basically trapped in a cabin with no access to basic hygiene (imagine having to get down circular wooden stairs in the middle of the night to visit the loo!!!) WITH THE MOST RUDE HOST who is not willing to help in case anything happens. We immediately left the facility and had to carry the luggages back down while raining. PS I AM 3 MONTHS PREGNANT and when I informed them they didn’t even offer to take us back with the jeep.
The food at the local restaurant was excellent.
Due to the condition of the road, getting to and from the cottages was a bit extreme.
Beautiful views, kind staff.
Whilst we appreciated the generator was solar powered, the lack of a fan throughout the night meant sleep was difficult and not as comfortable.
silence and beautiful views
