It was amazing ! The camp was big, located in the middle of the dunes ! We had a big room, very spacious and well equipped. We even had a hairdryer on request. There is also A/C u can't put it on before 5 or 6pm because the engine can break down with the high temperature which is understandable. Anyway, u never spend the day in the camp, they propose a lot of activities : 4x4 day trip in the desert, Lunch with a swimming people in their very nice restaurant nearby, Camel ride, Quads, sandboard, etc... At night, after dinner in the big tent, u have a very joyful traditional concert, with people dancing and singing all together around a big fire out in front of the dunes. U can also watch sunset and sunrise. (Sunset is awesome). We were 6 adults and enjoyed our stay their. We would deeeefinitely come back and recommend it. Special thanks to aaall the very nice and generous staff especially Hassan (the chief of staff) and Said (who took us on the 4x4 trip).
Great experience, very friendly, professional and reliable staff! Thank you so much for the great stay, dessert excursion, camel ride and airport transfer! We spend a day and it was on of our trip’s highlights! The real authentic experience- highly recommend the dessert trip in local Berber villages, Hassan was a great guide!!!
Great service and very friendly staff
An unforgettable experience for me and my family, made even more enjoyable by Hassan and his team. We especially loved the 4x4 ride to and from the camp, and it’s great that you can combine this transfer with a camel ride. The dinner atmosphere was fantastic, and the eggplant with cheese tajine was truly something special. The tent was very comfortable and clean.
Do Merzougy jsme dorazili navečer.
Personale gentilissimo. Situato tra dune stupende
Molto vicino ad altri Camp
Hassan has been very welcoming since the booking. He organised for us the taxi from Errachidia and to Rissani. The activities in the camp are super nice and the room is very comfortable. The food is delicious and the staff take amazing care of you.
Location is super prime, it is situated right at the heart of the Sahara Desert, with multiple activities to take in the magnificent views. Activities such as Camel rides, Stargazing, 4x4 tour etc gave us a beautiful tour of the place. The staffs were very accommodating and friendly, even putting on a cultural performance for us after dinner. In particular, the guide-Mr Siad was very well-versed in the land and articulated his knowledge well during our tour. We also greatly appreciated the tent's coziness and steady supply of warm water in contrast to the arid and frigid weather outside. So we enjoyed our stay very much!
We did experience a power disruption, but it was rectified and addressed very timely by the staff, thereby hardly affecting our stay at all.
We like our stay here. Staff is very friendly and nice. We felt super safe!
Struttura pulita e organizzata, tenda spaziosa, letto comodissimo.
Il falò dopo cena è durato troppo poco
We enjoyed our stay in the desert. The camp was very well planned. The weather was lovely when we were there.
I did not know that there was a transport charge.
Nada.
Alles!Perfecte camp in the dessert.
Ottima accoglienza e staff gentile e disponibile
We had two tents, with three people in each room, air conditioning in both. Our stay at the camps was roughly 12 hours, meeting place was convenient, with very clean bathrooms, and the 4x4 ride to the camp was fun. All hosts were friendly and pleasant. The camel ride was great; unfortunately it was cloudy, so could not see the sunset. The dinner and breakfast options were delicious. Camp was not crowded, so felt very private. It was a pleasant stay.
Shower in one of the rooms was not working, they fixed it the next day, but we were leaving in the AM, so it didn't really impact us. The meeting place does not have effective air conditioning, although it is running, the doors are open, so the area is uncomfortably warm. The locking system of the tents is awkward, a bit unnerving that someone can lock you from the outside while you're inside. It is in the Sahara, so bugs and insects are to be expected, but seeing them on your bed is not fun.
We are a family with two kids, aged 6 and 9, and we spent two unforgettable nights at the Golden Camp. We stayed together in one spacious family tent and had the best time! It’s important to note that, due to government regulations aimed at protecting the natural environment, no camps are allowed in the middle of the dunes anymore. All camps, including Golden Camp, are located just at the edge of the dunes — and we truly appreciate this effort to preserve the desert landscape. To reach the camp, you’re picked up in Merzouga at a designated meeting point — a lovely spot with a swimming pool and restaurant, perfect for a short rest before heading out. From there, you can choose how you'd like to reach the camp: by 4x4, camel, buggy, or quad. These are optional and come at an additional cost. The camel ride takes about 40 minutes and is a magical experience, while the 4x4 gets you there in about 20 minutes. All of these transport options — as well as any other desert tours or experiences — can be booked directly through Golden Camp, which keeps everything simple and stress-free. They really take care of everything. The camp itself is beautifully set up, with around 20 tents in total. Each tent is equipped with air conditioning and hot water, making the stay very comfortable even in the desert climate. Meals are served in a large communal tent, and we absolutely loved the food — it was delicious and plentiful. Alcohol is also available for those who want it. What made our stay truly special were the people. The staff treated us like family and made us feel completely at home. Their warmth, kindness, and hospitality were extraordinary. Our kids didn’t want to leave — they had tears in their eyes as we said goodbye. After dinner, guests gather around the campfire for live Berber music and drumming — a magical and unforgettable experience under the stars. We can’t recommend Golden Camp enough — it was the perfect family adventure, full of heart, beauty, and joy.
The atmosphere of the camp and the courtesy of personnel Food as well was really good
Little bit the cleaning but we were in the desert it is comprehensible
Clean and attractive structure. Very nice staff and always available
Close to other hotels, which is the common problem in Erg Chebbi.
It was one of my best vacation, the camp is clean the employers are very friendly.
Nothing
Air-conditioned room, essential for Morroco winter and 🌵desert. The facilities are real good, I feel like I am in a hotel room. Big and clean, with comfortable beds. The place is close to dunes, you can easily walk around and see the desert sunset and sunrise. Dinner is served with four courses and included in the price. Really good dinner and tasty! The camel ride to and from the camp is 40 euro p.p. which is a reasonable price I think. The music is good as well. We enjoyed a lot in erg chebbi sand dunes!
If I do have to say something bad about this place, which is very minor, the water for shower is not very hot. I understand that in the desert it is difficult to supply with real hot water so I still think it is 10 out of 10 score.
What a fabulous experience. The dinner was absolutely delicious. The whole service was slick. We had a super nice waiter. Love the aubergine dish. Lovely tent, crisp linen and super warm inside. We loved our camel ride and the closeness to some of the most dramatic scenes. Enjoyed the music and dancing by the fire and star gazing! Said was funny and drove us to the camels in his 4x4 which was great fun. Anyone thinking about this experience just do it! Highly recommend.
Nothing. Breakfast cook was a bit grumpy because we were in very early.
Staff and tent was 10/10! Tour and camel ride were excellent and throughly enjoyed our tent and staff. Food was great! Highly recommend
Friendly staff
The tent was perfect, the team were brilliant for all activities. Really enjoyed the camel ride and quad biking during sunset and the tour of the local area.
Not the properties fault but in the height of summer it was hot during the day. The team arranged a pool at a local restaurant during the day which was nice.
Like everything about it, the tents were comfortable, clean and have everything you need. The food was very good. But the best part was the staff, 10 points for them .
Mattress was little hard, but it won’t stop us from coming back.
Really enjoyed our stay at this camp. We arrived at the cafe which was the meeting point for camp early afternoon. We were made to feel very welcome and were offered refreshments and towels for the use of the pool which was great as it was 45 degrees. We also had lunch while we waited until 7pm which was our pickup time. We were then driven to camp and welcomed again with tea and biscuits. Our tent was very comfortable and massive bed great shower a toilet and air conditioner which was great as it was so hot. We had a camel ride to the dunes. Dinner was also included and was very good. We also enjoyed entertainment with singing and drums. We also enjoyed breakfast and then the owner drove us back to the meeting point early as we had a long drive back to Marrakech. Would highly recommend this camp we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
We loved our stay at Golden Camp! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Tents were beautiful, Clean, comfortable and with good AC. We highly recommend this property!
Can’t think about anything
Amazing experience, lovely rooms with excellent facilities. Hassan and all the staff were brilliant, very flexible with plans and very accommodating all the way through. Would love to visit again one day!
Nothing
Really friendly and enthusiastic stuff
The staff were very friendly and helpful. They seemed truly caring and interested when they chatted with us. The tent was spacious and clean. The food was very good.
it was very close to other camps and the tents were quite close together.
good diner and breakfast
wifi is weak
Mustafa, Ali, Sa-id, and Mohammed took a very good care of us. 10/10 Comfortable bed, clean towels.
We are delighted to have chosen Golden Camps & Oasis for our stay in the desert, our experience in the Sahara could not have been better and their entire team exceeded all of our expectations. The entire team is focus to every small detail to make this visit unforgettable. We met part of the team at the Merzouga cafe, where we tried Berber pizza and headed to the camp on dromedaries with our fantastic guide Mohamed, he also accompanied us the next day to see the sunrise from the camp. Cozy welcome to the camp with typical Moroccan cookies and mint tea. The tent was spotless, cozy and very comfortable for a family of 4, with a private bathroom, shower, air conditioning or heating. Delicious Moroccan dinner: eggplant tajin, lemon chicken, soup, vegetables. After eating we enjoyed the cheerful bereber music and dance around a bonfire, kids had chance to learn to play the drums. Atmosphere was very pleasant and familiar. Savory and yummy breakfast, with fruits, tajin with eggs and all the Moroccan delicacies. My children did sandboarding near the camp and perhaps if we had had more time we would have liked to do the buggy excursion. We would definitely stay at Golden Camps & Oasis again without hesitation and we recommend this camp to anyone who wants to make this visit to the Sahara unforgettable.
10000% recommend this camp. The staff was exceptional. The camp does give a luxurious feel, and is located between the sand dunes. The decor is very pretty. The dinner was amazing, since we were vegetarian they cooked seperate entrees for us which were so flavorful. The music and dance show was the cherry on the top. We did the 4x4 tour during the day and would 100% recommend it — they take you to the untouched part of the desert and it’s stunning.
Everythis was perfect! Amazing location, luxury tent with aircondition, perfect if you're visiting in winter, as we did. Food was amazing and the portion was really big! But most importantly, the guys who work there were exceptionally welcoming and helpful. They made us feel at home and we will definitely come back for longer! After dinner we enjoyed their music with bonfire. Eventhough we loved everything in Morocco, this stay was the highlight of our trip!
We had a magical two night stay at the camp. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with comfortable areas to sit and relax and all the conveniences you hope for like great weather pressure and heating and air conditioning for those large fluctuations on desert conditions. The staff are the highlight as they went out of thrower way to make our stay comfortable and to give us a Berber style experience through the tours, and their engagement with us. Highly recommended… stay two night of you can to see everything.
The facilities are very nice, we had a nice shower, air conditioning and a big room. We took a camel ride to watch the sunset which was a once in a life time experience. The hosts were brilliant, friendly and talented, we really enjoyed their entertainment and hospitality.
The staff was super friendly. The food was perfect and the accommodations amazing! I would recommend it to anyone who is going to Merzouga and wanting to spend a wonderful time there!
Nothing
We loved everything! Beautiful camp by the dunes.
It was so much fun riding camels in the desert with a great guide! The food was some of the best in Morocco!
AC wasn’t great… glamping downfalls
The room and bathroom were very nice and the AC worked well — it was 107 F the day we arrived! Everything was well-planned and the staff members were friendly and responsive. the setting was incredible!
Dinner was good, but not excellent.
Golden Camp is a hidden gem in Merzouga. The facility is amazing, the entertainment is great, and the hospitality and high standards of customer service provided by the staff were top notch. Mr. Hassan and his team went above and beyond our expectations to make our stay exceptional. As seasoned travelers, we highly recommend a stay at this place. Keep up the great work. Until next time. PS) Make sure to book the 4x4 jeep tour, it will be worth your $$. Cheers
N/A
The location & set up is perfect: they have a restaurant in center of Merzouga which serves as meeting/pickup/dropoff point for being transferred to/from camp. Also, the place where you park your rental car safely. What is more, the restaurant serves great food (try berber pizza and they fruit salad, yummy) and has a pool which in 31-35⁰C is pure bliss. Then the camp. Never been glamping but probably this is the closest you can get in the area (mind you, there are several camps around which look similar from outside, so in theory there is plenty of choice). In practice, the difference lies in the details, I do not know how others fare but here the team of welcoming, helpful, nice, responsive & efficient guys do make the difference. The two Hassans who seem to run the place, really know how to make things happen. Nothing is impossible or too much trouble to them. Tents feel and work exactly like a superior suite in a 4* hotel. Spacious, airy, huge comfortable beds, separate shower and toilette. Great water pressure, hot water aplenty no matter the hour, naturally ventilated wc room. They have A/C. Did not use it as we did not need it, here is why: during day time when temperature soare to over 30⁰C and the tent becomes unbearably hot, everyone is out on activities. By the time guests return to camp is already 5.30-6.30pm when the temperature drops abruptly and the tents (which have a few windows better left open during day time) become pleasant inside. After dusk, the temperature becomes rather chilly, 12-15⁰C, so you will appreciate the thick, soft, warm bed covers. The activities: we did the jeep tour (lots of dune bashing, desert driving to various attractions quite touristy but unique otherwise), a full desert experience in my view which can, at your choice, end at their restaurant & pool in Merzouga for a relaxed, chilled afternoon followed by transfer back to camp with the last jeep (or camel) around 5-5.30pm.
We stayed there 2 days but for guests who may want to stay more the list of activities should be extended to include maybe fossil sites, petroglyphs sites (both of which abound in the area), cooking classes, besides the usual fare of jeep excursion, camel ride, dunes surfing, buggy rides... Prices for such activities seemed on the high side. Maybe lower pricing would entice more attendance in some, more adventurous activities.
The location is good, in the dessert but that's about it.
Service with no smile. Breakfast was laid out without letting us know that it was self service and not much choice for vegetarians. Didn't know beforehand that it was mandatory to pay at least 15 Euros per person to get to the camp and back. That was the only way one could get to and from the camp - either a 15 Euros per person in a 4 X4 vehicle or 30 Euros per person camel ride. This should have been mentioned at the outset. It was only messaged to us on the day of arrival. For a family of 4 this increases the room rate for one night by nearly 50%. The tent had a strange smell and the shower although warm did not have good water flow.
Hassan. He'll take good care of you. Try to jam with the staff during their nightly drum session. Sand between your toes.
We loved everything there. The staff was super friendly and kind especially Hassan! The place was magical and we totally recommend it.
We liked everything.
amazing. clean comfy
all was amazing
Remember that you are staying in a camp. The Camel ride in was spectacular. The dinner was very good, and we were able to purchase beer and red wine. The beds were a bit stiff. The jeep ride out the next day was a lot of fun.
all stuff went out of their way to help and give us best possible service and ensure we will have a good time.
very unconventional property, was quite exciting for me. also getting there and back is a great part of the experience
service, cleanliness and food
everything perfect
