Luxurious Merzouga Desert Camps

We had a great stay at the camp in Merzouga. The included transfer to the camp was very convenient, and they were very flexible with the timing. Our driver was also very friendly and made the journey enjoyable. We received a warm welcome at the camp and had a really fun evening. The food was very good, and the location is amazing, right in the middle of the dunes. A very special desert experience!

Ubicación excelente, con un ambiente muy tranquilo. Cena y desayuno muy rico, generosa cantidad. Sólo llegar nos ofrecieron te con pastas. El personal muy atento. Se podía pagar con Revolut o paypal, si no, efectivo.

En la tienda hacía bastante calor y no había forma de evacuarlo. Además no había mosquiteras, aunque nada grave.

Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommen! Wir waren mitten in der Wüste und haben alles organisiert bekommen. Essen und Getränke hat man immer vor Ort bekommen.

Es kam keine Klima.. über den Tag waren es höhere Temperaturen in den Zelten, abends dagegen wurde es kalt. Wir wussten dies vorher und haben uns entsprechende Klamotten eingepackt

Después de estar 10 días recorriendo marruecos en moto, puedo decir que es la mejor estancia donde hemos estado, desde los chicos que estaban atentos y dispuestos a agradar tu estancia como el cocinero que superó con creces las expectativas tanto en calidad como en calidad. Si buscas un sitio tranquilo íntimo, sin fiestas y con personas que realmente creen en lo que hacen este es tu sitio. Especial mención a las excursiones en nuestro caso, buggy y recorrido de 3h viendo a familias nómadas, desierto negro, etc...un 10 Rachid aprendimos un montón y la compañía excepcional. Un petit camp tentes noires très bien placé car à l’abris des regards des autres camps… Nous n’avons pas eu de chance car petite tempête de sable.. ceci ne nous a pas gêné pour passer une excellente nuit. Le lendemain beau soleil…Organisation sans défauts… Ils communiquent par WhatsApp sur le lieu de rendez-vous : en fait le lien donné permet de trouver l’adresse : un portail avec un parking trouvé grâce à un panneau « Mouhou » C’est de ce parking qu’une voiture 4x4 vous amène pendant 20 minutes à travers les dunes au camp… Ce transfert était déjà magnifique malgré les rafales de sable..

De tent op zich was mooi, maar niet proper. Duidelijk geen verse lakens. Alles rond de tenten was rommelig en niet verzorgd.

Het personeel was onvriendelijk, afstandelijk en de communicatie ondermaats. Het eten was heel basic en niet vers, ook veel te veel. Beter minder maar goed en lekker klaarmaken…

Die Anreise ins Camp verlief reibungslos: Mein Mietwagen wurde sicher verwahrt, und ein freundlicher Mitarbeiter brachte mich im Geländewagen durch die nächtliche Wüste ins Camp – ein stimmungsvoller Auftakt. Das Zelt selbst war wirklich komfortabel und liebevoll eingerichtet, für mich eine der schönsten Unterkünfte meiner Marokkoreise. Absolutes Highlight war die Halbtagestour mit Said: Er zeigte mir die Gegend mit echtem Herzblut, war ein wunderbar intelligenter und gebildeter Gesprächspartner und hat meinen Saharaaufenthalt zu etwas Unvergesslichem gemacht.

Leider stand die menschliche Seite des Camps in starkem Kontrast zur schönen Ausstattung. Die Kommunikation war durchgehend ein Problem – schon vor der Anreise blieben Nachrichten anderthalb Wochen unbeantwortet, und wichtige Informationen wie das Lagerfeuerprogramm oder die tatsächliche Abfahrtszeit des Kamelritts wurden entweder gar nicht oder mit halbstündigem Vorlauf mitgeteilt. Ich musste mein Frühstück am Abreisetag hastig herunterschlingen, weil mir erst kurz vorher gesagt wurde, dass das Kamel 20 Minuten früher als erwartet bereitsteht. Laut den auf Booking.com angegebenen Richtlinien ist ein Checkout bis 10:00 Uhr möglich – der tatsächliche Abfahrtszeitpunkt um 7:40 Uhr wurde mir jedoch erst mit halbstündiger Vorankündigung mitgeteilt, was dem angegebenen Zeitrahmen klar widerspricht. Die Atmosphäre im Camp war insgesamt sehr anonym – ich wurde von den Mitarbeitenden kein einziges Mal persönlich angesprochen, sofern es nicht um Formalitäten oder Bezahlung ging. Namen oder Ansprechpartner waren mir nicht bekannt. Beim Checkout wurden mir zudem 10 Euro zu viel berechnet – zum Glück hatte ich selbst nachgerechnet. Das Essen war gemessen am Preis (20 Euro pro Abendessen) enttäuschend: Der Orangensaft kam aus Konzentrat, der Kaffee schmeckte nach Instantpulver, und bei manchen Gerichten hatte ich den Eindruck, dass sie aufgewärmt wurden. Einzelreisende scheinen generell weniger Aufmerksamkeit zu erhalten als Gruppen. Praktische Hinweise für künftige Gäste: Das WLAN im Zelt funktioniert kaum, es gibt nur USB-Ladeanschlüsse, und bei Sandsturm – der in der Wüste nun mal dazugehört – dringt bei offenem Fenster Sand ins Zelt.

O lugar é muito bonito e funcionário atencioso. Os passeios 4x4 e o por do sol nas dunas de camelo foi lindo. Comida boa.

Carpas quentes demais durante o dia, sem ventilador. Na hora do pagamento dificultaram pagamento em cartão e o que é pior, nos cobrou o dobro do que estava estipulado na Booking. Aproveitou a confusão e nos cobrou o dobro do combinado. Pensando apenas em ir embora, não pegamos recibo e por tanto não tenho a prova mas o dono sabe. Não recomendo.

La ubicación obviamente es preciosa, y las instalaciones, sabiendo que es un campamento, muy bien. Pero tened en cuenta que durante el día hace mucho calor y no apetece hacer demasiadas cosas… recomendamos una noche y ya, no hace falta más jeje

Realmente todo estaba muy bien teniendo en cuenta que estás en un campamento en medio del desierto. Tal vez el tema del sand boarding un poco cutre porque no funcionaba muy bien, pero bueno es gratis así que no pasa nada.

Un petit camp intimiste et convivial ou nous avons passé un moment incroyable, hors du temps . L'équipe a été à l'écoute et nous a permis de nous sentir comme à la maison mais en mieux . Nous reviendrons avec plaisir !

Very beautiful tents with everything you need. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and the staff played live music with us in the evening.

The camps are just outside the desert and you have to walk around 10-15 minutes to experience the dunes (but all camps are the same).

My second time at this camp, very friendly and helpful staff, good prices for excursion, camel ride and Jeep tour (I checked other camps and it was always more expensive) this camp is really affordable and I hope will stay like that. Comfortable beds, location is stunning, this camp is around 50mtr deeper into the desert than other nearby camps, you wake up, come out from the tent and the dunes are around you, SUPERB location!!! Dinner!!! Delicious, best ever dinner I have ever eaten in Morocco, super tasty and definitely too much. Friendly and very musician staff, after the dinner they sing and play on instruments letting you play as well, super cool. Again, the location is perfect for sunset, sunrise and night stars observation, wow!!! The sunset and sunrise pictures are from the dune just behind the tent.

Let me think...we stayed two nights, the second day we took a 3.5h jeep tour, we finished the tour before 2pm and this was the warmest part of the day, camp has no AC (we knew it) so if you plan to come during high hot summer season and stay two nights, better think twice. Other than this, I can't complain. One more issue, the red carpets you can find on the pictures was a perfect addition for taking pictures when I was there 3 years ago, but the carpets are no longer in the camp

Kleines Camp mit 6 Zelten, abends Lagerfeuer mit Musik. Das Essen (Halbpension) war super lecker und mehr als ausreichend. Organisation war komplikationslos und einfach.

Le luxe dans le dessert. .lors de notre arrivé la piscine est un plus après plusieurs heures de route. Trajet gratuit en voiture le reste en option Je conseille vivement.

À signaler le manque de précision pour le point de rendez-vous, de la part du responsable que nous n’avons jamais vu(Hassan). Et aussi pour une prestation annexe sur place.

El entorno es espectacular, rodeado de dunas... La habitacion es amplia y limpia, con todo tipo de servicios como si estuvieras en un hotel. La cena y el desayuno muy bien.

Die Zelte sind dunkel und werden tagsüber sehr heiß. Bei uns hatte es 23 Grad draußen und es war zu heiß um tagsüber im Zelt zu bleiben. Wir buchten eine 3 Stunden Tour mit dem Auto. Sie war teuer aber sehr schön.

Es war ein tolles, authentisches Erlebnis! Unser Aufenthalt lief wie geplant ab und der Service war super. Von dem Abendessen und dem Frühstück waren wir begeistert. Einen schönen Tagesabschluss hatten wir mit dem Musizieren am Lagerfeuer.

El precio es muy ajustado y el personal aunque escaso, fue muy correcto y educado.

Estaría bien que informaran a los clientes que dormirán en las mismas sábanas usadas por anteriores huéspedes. Una simple ‘sacudida’ a veces no es suficiente y de esto fuimos testigos después de dormir la primera noche, mientras esperábamos el coche para la excursión. Era el cumpleaños de mi pareja y encargué un pastel de cumpleaños que olvidaron preparar. Esto lo entiendo. Como disculpas, nos ofrecieron un descuento para “futuras” estancias…. Aunque teníamos reserva para dos noches y anulamos la segunda, que cobraron igual.

L'ambient de les instal·lacions ha estat molt acertat, la zona permetia una bona immersió. L'habitació era molt gran, confortable i acollidora. El personal era molt amable i estava sempre disposat a ajudar o adaptar-se a les demandes dels clients. Vam escollir esta opció pel trasllat al campament amb 4x4 inclòs i ha estat una bona opció de transllat.

- Deficiències: El wifi, que venen com "high speed wifi" no funcionava gens, era molt molt lent i sols funcionava en ocasions (pèssim). L'aigua calenta no era del tot calenta, solament estava disponible pel matí o mitat vesprada i costava molt de temps d'assolir. El xic del campament ens va dir que el dinar estava preparat i solament eren les 12 pm, un horari atípic i que feia pensar en estratègies dolentes per part de l'administració. - Semblava un decorat turista: L'espectacle de música tradicional era poc creïble, fins el punt que els propis músics és reien de l'actuació dels propis companys o del paperot que estaven fent pensant que els visitants ens ho crèiem. Totes les activitats eren de pago i molt comuns a altres campaments (sense pagar + wifi pèssim, l'estada es tornava avorrida). - Trampa per a turistes: Al estar a mitat desert (realment sols a una banda del desert i accessible), et veies obligat a consumir els menús de dinar i sopar que oferien, sent el sopar molt car (respecte als preus comuns del Marroc i respecte al producte en sí). - Condicions: Sabem que no ofereixen aire acondicionat però les habitacions no tenen una bona forma de fer circular l'aire per refrescar-les i s'acumula molt la calor a dintre. Amb aire intens, la zona chill out queda inutilitzada i moltes activitats no se poden realitzar. La seguretat de les tendes és nul·la, qualsevol pot entrar en una tenda que no hi sigui ningú, afortunadament, el campament era molt segur i no ha hagut cap incident.

Siamo stati nel campo due notti. La tenda è molto spaziosa dotata di bagno privato con doccia e acqua calda. Il letto è molto grande, comodo e le coperte tengono molto caldo per cui non abbiamo avuto freddo di notte. Ci sono due prese elettriche. L'host Omar è ospitale, disponibile e simpatico. Colazione e cena squisite e molto abbondanti. Offrono molte attività. Consiglio il tour in 4x4 per visitare i villaggi di nomadi nel deserto. Il giro col cammello al tramonto è stato carino. La sera dopo cena ci si mette intorno al fuoco con i bonghi e i vari strumenti per ballare e cantare, un momento divertente e di condivisione molto speciale.

Che sia durato solo 2 notti, ci tornerei!

La habitación estaba limpia y era bastante cómoda y bonita. La ubicación era buena, justo entre las dunas del desierto. Te ofrecen el servicio de recogida hasta y desde el alojamiento al parking de forma gratuita dentro del horario de check in. El personal amable. La cena excelente. El desayuno mejorable.

Nosotros no nos duchamos porque no conseguimos que saliese agua caliente. Luego el personal nos dijo que teníamos que dejar correr el agua durante mucho tiempo para conseguir agua caliente. Pasamos un poco de frío porque no hay calefacción, pero indican este detalle cuando lo reservas.

It was a fantastic experience in the desert. We were picked up exactly at the agreed time and taken to the camp by 4x4. The camp itself was extremely comfortable, with very large beds and a beautiful overall setup. Despite being a tented camp in the desert, the sanitary facilities were very good (good water pressure as well!). The food was delicious and very generous, actually more than enough. We booked a day trip by 4x4, which we found less remarkable, and a quad tour, which we would definitely recommend as it offers great value for money. The staff were very friendly, and several spoke good English. The live music in the evening was a nice addition to the experience.

Upon arrival the camp looked different than the one we booked. Doing a bit research it seems that there are two camps: Mouhou Desert Camp (black tents) and Merzouga Desert Camps (white tents). As it seems, we were placed in Mouhou. In the end, this might not have affected our experience, as it seems similar on the pictures, but it would be fair to communicate this clearly in advance. This is especially relevant because the photos suggest that the white tents are not located in a dune basin, while the black tents are. For us (we were in the black tents) the dune basin was a major advantage, as it meant we could not see other camps. Nevertheless, we had a great experience. @LuxuriousMerzougaDesertCamps maybe you could clarify upon this matter for next guests? Thanks!

Wat een luxe tenten en heerlijk eten . We verbleven er 1 nacht. Alles was tot in de puntjes verzorgd. Het vervoer met 4 wheel drive heen en terug vanaf guesthouse Manou verliep op rolletjes. Helaas was het bewolkt en konden we ' s nachts niet genieten van een kijkje in de Melkweg. Gelukkig scheen de volgende ochtend de zon Al met al was het een geweldige ervaring voor een zeer schappelijke prijs. Er werd ons niks extra's opgelegd. We hadden geen zin in kamelentocht en of Quad-tochten en daar werd gelukkig niet op aangestuurd

De aankomst: Guesthouse Mahou was moeilijk te vinden. Het ontbreekt aan wegwijzers of reclame zuilen Na veel vragen en stukjes lopen vonden we het omheinde guesthouse. Alleen aan de achterzijde lag een bordje met de naam van het guesthouse in de berm. We hadden het gemakkelijk kunnen missen.

Ontvangst was perfect, eten was geweldig goed, locatie was prima

Notte del deserto - esperienza da non perdere se si visita il Marocco! Posizione incredibile, i ragazzi dello staff offrono il trasporto gratuito da dove si lascia l’auto. Tende carine con tutto il necessario per il soggiorno. Molto bello lo spettacolo serale attorno al fuoco!

Ho trascorso una bellissima esperienza nel campo tendato nel deserto a Merzouga. Viaggiavo da sola e mi sono sempre sentita accolta e al sicuro. Le tende erano accoglienti, il letto molto comodo e c’era acqua calda. Il cibo era molto buono e abbondante. L’unica cosa da sapere è che nella tenda non c’è la presa elettrica al muro, ma solo le prese USB-A. Un ringraziamento speciale a Mustafa, che è stato davvero gentile e disponibile e ha reso questa esperienza ancora più bella.

Tutto! La tenda era molto lussuosa, non c'è il riscaldamento ma le coperte sono più che sufficienti; c'è acqua calda, insomma molto confortevole l'alloggio. Colazione e cena non i migliori del viaggio ma abbondanti e comunque non così male. I ragazzi sono stati gentilissimi, ci hanno fatto usare le tavole per fare sandboarding e la sera hanno organizzato uno spettacolo con tamburi. Il campo si trova fra le dune ed è possibile passeggiare nel mezzo del deserto sempre restando nei dintorni del campo ma assolutamente suggestivo. Il trasporto dal parcheggio (che è in un complessodi apoartamenti e quindi molto sicuro) è incluso e ci hanno fatto stare nel cassone del pickup! Non abbiamo acquistato escursioni extra e nessuno ci ha pressato per farlo, quindi ottimo!

Schönes kleines Camp, eine Düne weiter in der Wüste gelegen als die nahebei gelegenen Nachbar-Camps und dadurch recht idyllisch. Schöne komfortable Zelte. Essen ist großzügig bemessen. Abends Lagerfeuer mit Trommeln.

Bon rapport qualité-prix ! Bon repas et ambiance sympa après manger. Vue imprenable sur les dunes de sables (magnifique lors du levé de soleil) Ajouter 20€ par personne pour faire l’aller ou le retour en dromadaire, comparé aux autres le prix est raisonable. Propreté impeccable

Pas d’eau chaude mais étant dans le désert nous nous y attendions. Porte ne fermant pas à clé à cause de la température déformant la matière. En étant 2 femmes nous n’étions pas vraiment rassuré mais la nuit s’est bien passé et nous n’avons pas eu trop froid.

Staying at Luxurious Merzouga Desert Camps was an unforgettable experience and easily one of the most magical parts of my trip. From the moment we arrived in the desert, everything felt special. The setting alone is breathtaking — endless dunes, total silence, and sunsets that don’t even look real. The tents are genuinely luxurious — spacious, beautifully set up, and incredibly comfortable. After a full day out in the sand, having proper comfort waiting for you makes all the difference. Everything was spotless and well organised. The team running the camp were fantastic — welcoming, friendly, and made sure every detail was taken care of. You feel looked after the entire time without it ever feeling over the top. Sitting under the stars at night in the middle of the Sahara is something I’ll never forget. If you’re going to Merzouga, this is the way to do it. An experience I’d recommend to absolutely anyone.

Het kamp lag in een duinpan. Op het oog zag het er mooi uit. Er waren schommels, er was een loungehoek en het bed was goed. Personeel was aardig.

Het komt niet overeen met de plaatjes. Het was niet erg schoon. Er zaten nog haren in het doucheputje, in de wasbak en in het bed. Het kamp heet ‘luxurious’ en daarom dachten wij wel aan dat er ook iets anders te drinken was te krijgen dan water en thee. Dat was helaas niet zo.

A 20 minuti da Merzouga. Buona posizione. Staff gentilissimo e operativo. I ragazzi con il fuoristrada, che ci hanno fatto fare il tour, sono stati fantastici e professionali. Anche quelli che la sera ci hanno intrattenuto intorno al fuoco con canti e tamburi. Buona la cena e buona la colazione. Puntuali e gentili. Il campo tendato era ben organizzato e con tutti i servizi.

Everything. Everybody was really kind. The camp is in the middle in the desert between the dunes. Very beautiful. Every tent has bathroom. The transfer is included. Totally worth 👌 ❤️

Nossa estadia foi excelente do começo ao fim. Fizemos contato pelo WhatsApp para ter as orientações de chegada e já reservar o passeio de camelo até o local do nosso camping, que durou mais de 01 hora com parada nas dunas para ver o pôr do sol. Tínhamos também a opção de transfer de carro gratuito, no qual nossas bagagens foram transportadas. Na chegada, tivemos um verdadeiro banquete de jantar e no outro dia um café da manhã maravilhoso, com um dos melhores temperos que comemos em nossa estadia pelo Marrocos. Fomos também agraciados com um show berbere feito à noite, ao ar livre com fogueira e músicas típicas. A tenda é enorme e muito confortável com cama excelente e chuveiro forte e com água quente. A quarto muito limpo e cheiroso. Os funcionários maravilhosos e muito simpáticos. A localização, mais afastada das primeiras tendas em local mais calmo e tranquilo.
