The hot water was out on the premises, which was only mentioned after we had checked in and paid.

The kitchenett in the room could be upgraded. With the limited food options in Melville after 6pm it would be nice to be able to cook/prep food in from grocery stores in the rooms, especially for athletes there for hockey!

This time I wasn't so happy with the room, the bed was uncomfortable to my liking, the couch wasn't good , sat on a plain chair to watch TV.I prefer a room where the bed and TV are together, there wasn't much picking of rooms so had to take what there was , other then that I usually have a great stay there.

Reviewed Sep 15, 2025The staff is very friendly, the rooms are great , they have A/ C in the rooms, the location is close to everything alittle walk to downtown , restaurants, if you have little kids there is a park across the road. I have been coming and staying here for afew years , never have had an issue .They have recently renovated as well looks very nice.

Reviewed Jul 11, 2025Nice clean motel. While the rooms were dated, they were obviously in the process of improving the rooms. Our bathroom was recently redone and there were new A/C units, Fridges etc. in boxes to be installed. Note: Bar soap was provided in the rooms, but not Shampoo, so you may want to bring your own.
Mattresses could be firmer We generally expect some kind of shampoo to be provided for guests in hotels.

Poor lighting, very few electrical receptacles.

I totally appreciate that the management/staff/ownership were professional, considerate, polite, and ready and willing to help whenever one needs assistance. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. All that a guest needs is seen to in a most positive and personable manner. To put it all in one word....AWESOME! Thank you all at Melsask Motel. This was my third stay, and it is because of all the above that I stayed at your motel again. And will always stay at Melsask motel whenever I come to this area. Reviewed Oct 17, 2024The location was fine, and suited our needs. The staff treated us well, and for the most part, our stay was as expected in the medium-sized town of Melville, Sk. There isn't a lot of choice for lodging in the town, but we needed to be there for Thanksgiving, so this is where we stayed for 3 days. The town itself is quite nice, and has lots of amenities for its size.
Well, the room was Very small, much more so than we'd expected. Other patrons continuously parked in our stall, even though there was 'overflow' parking in the center of the lot. I'm okay, but my wife had difficulty pushing her walker in between the large trucks parked right in front of our room! Then, we found it impossible to control the heat in our room? When we arrived, it seemed okay, but later the furnace wouldn't stop running, and it became stifling in the room! There was no response from the thermostat at all!? After 3 hours or so, it shut off, then cycled properly for the rest of the night! I mentioned this to a staff member, but they didn't seem to understand me. Every night was the same, almost as if control of the heating in our room was coming from another room? Very strange, but it was quite uncomfortable...

Reviewed Aug 25, 2024I knew this in advance that there wasn't a breakfast, and that was not a problem for me at all. The owners, management and staff (all one and the same) were outstanding. They were most accomadating, respectul, considerate, polite and quick to help. They are just straight up Excellent! The room was awesome as far as I'm concerned. I slept well all four nights, so no noise concerns, as other guests were considerate. I highly recommend Melsask Motel to others.
Having to get up off that comfy bed to go golfing. LOL.

No fan in the bathroom. The flooring in bathroom could be cleaner in the corners. There was no lightbulb in one of the bedside lamps.

I will go back, as I have family in Melville to visit often, and I will likely stay for an extended period at the Melsask. It’s a great property for longer stays.
