room was clean and quiet
there was an issue with my shower resulting in only cold water. start of checkin on arrival date is late and the operating hours of office and restaurant are rather limited when arriving at a moment that there is no office attendance, you can call 2 numbers, one intended for international phones and one local number. However, the international didn't connect and for the local one, you needed to know the local area number which was not shown.
Location and the size of the room
We were tucked in the ba k which was quiet but without a view
Easy check in. Comfortable, big room. Beautiful view of the mountains outside.
Shower taps were temperament.
Great value for very good, clean, and comfortable inn! Good location. Great amenities. Our unit even had a separate private room where the extra queen bed was.
This motel was reasonably-priced, well-maintained, clean, fresh, and conveniently located to a restaurant next door. The room was spacious, beds were comfortable, with nice linens & towels. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it. Our trip along the Alcan was fun, but we stayed in a few real dumps. This place is quite the opposite!
+ location + View + Microwave / fridge in the suite + Walking distance to the pub with good food + Comfy beds
- can hear noise from suites around - no privacy curtains - sink outside the bathrooms
Great value and location. Despite being an older building it is in good repair, well maintained, clearly the owners and management want to make it a good stay. Thank-you! It was perfect for my travel needs and very clean.
No complaints, a very good motel.
Great location for food, gas, access to Alcan. Softest towels on our entire Alaska adventure. Staff was very nice
No elevator, air conditioning didn’t work well
Room clean, comfortable and tidy, but AC wasn't working, so I was given an industrial fan that was loud. Better than being hot while sleeping. Wonderful hot shower!
AC not working, and restaurant closed an hour before it was supposed to at the last minute.
Clean, up-to-date amenities, quiet. Felt safe as a solo traveler.
Clean, comfy and well maintained.
A/C didn't work qiuite right, so room was hot.
Rooms were cozy! Bathrooms were cleaned and stocked!
Pillows were FLAT!!!
The motel room was newly renovated, clean, great amenities. Very very pleased.
Suggestion: redo “Alcan Motel” sign. It was difficult to see and a sign facelift would suit the wonderful quality of the motel rooms. Very nice. I would absolutely recommend Alcan to anyone staying in Haines junction!
A good motel in a central location. Easy check-in with friendly staff. A comfortable bed. A clean shower and a good coffee machine. Highly recommended. There’s also a good restaurant at the motel. Perfect.
I had low expectations for this particular hotel seeing as though we had limited choices however it exceeded my expectations. It was clean, is in a central location right off the highway (though not noisy so as to distract), near a variety of choices for food and had a beautiful view of the mountains. We spent our evening sitting in the warmth of the sun on the benches just outside our room with a beverage in hand. Perfection!
Convenient location. Nice view of mountains. Clean. Comfortable beds.
Slight noise transfer from other units.
Superb view over the mountains
Very comfortable and wonderfully clean. Friendly people, magnificent view.
Clean, large comfortable room and quiet. Next door was a good restaurant.
Nothing
Very convenient and it had a beautiful view from the balcony.
The door to our room had a significant gap to the floor so though we stayed in the summer, the winter time might make it a bit cold.
Location and comfortable room. Great coffee in the room.
The door was hard to open. Cleaned crew walked in on us sleeping at 8am this was so early we didn’t have a chance to get the sign up. A/C was not working. We were originally placed in a room where no dogs are allowed. We specifically booked because your site states dog friendly.
Clean and had reasonable items like coffee and tv
The AC was out in the building, the room was 26 degrees, and unliveable, and the staff was not helpful with anything to do with the problem. Not only were staff unhelpful, they were dismissive. Manager on duty was named Geraldine, and did not even try to help her front desk person.
Friendly staff, accommodating, walkable to restaurant and bar. Very clean, good coffee options
Not a thing
The location is very good and the staff friendly. In good weather you have a wonderful view of the mountain range.
The room has no window that you can open. It is only possible to use the fan and open the door to get fresh air.
We were surprised by the hotel-like room in this "motor inn" - modern and clean with more than enough amenities.
Stayed here for two nights in June 2026. Our room was located on the second floor which is accessed via a covered staircase and a covered walkway. The room decor was pleasant and clean. The room contained a microwave, minifridge and coffee maker. The sink was located outside of the bathroom. The towels were very soft. Contrary to the hotel website, the hotel no longer offers laundry facilities for guest use. Another property just down the street has a public laundry facility with several washers and dryers.
It's an oasis in a remote place and so very convenient for exploring Kluane National Park. Room was spacious, well stocked with coffee and tea, and the bathroom was nice, quiet, with good hot shower. The most unexpected was the view of the mountains from the room window first thing in the morning.
The person at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious. And the view of the mountains from the room was incredible!
The only complaint I could really have is the mattress was a little soft but that's definitely a preference not something every place can address.
Location great and staff were very fry. The room was clean and very comfortable. Would recommend ☺️
Could have installed better heavy curtains to block the midnight sun
Emplacement
Handy place to stay overnight. Good little kitchen, dining table and chairs were a nice addition
AC is so loud you can’t use it
Restaurant right next door. Room was clean and spacious.
Great location. Looks like it was newly renovated- very clean. Comfortable bed
The view was the best part of our stay! It was fantastic viewing snow-capped mountains right from your window. The restaurant was good. It was out of some items, however we enjoyed our dinner and would the nachos and some of the more local beer. There was some grassy area at the hotel to walk your dog and some trails nearby. We appreciated this.
The fan in older PTAC unit did absolutely nothing to keep you cool. On the fan and cool settings on high, there was barely anything happening. Around 10:30 PM, it was cool enough outside that we could open the window. It was pretty uncomfortable and miserable for lack of better words to the point we pondered leaving to sleep in cars. A simple supplementary oscillating fan would have helped drastically, which was common for other motels and accommodations in the area. This extra service is needed and truly is an extra touch that is necessary for the warmer months. To somewhat help, we’d run our feet under cold water in the tub throughout the night to better regulate. It was quite awful. We had no interaction with any staff on-site. I wish there would have been some information about additional fans being available. The hotel was dated, and there was dust around the floorboards. There was damage from other pets in the unit, including scratched door frames.
We had confirmed a one night stay at this hotel a number of months ago. Three days before our travel, the manager Cindy was trying to call us to move us from this hotel into another. She had overbooked or decided to fill rooms with people staying longer? Not exactly sure what her problem was, but we weren't the priority. Because we felt pressured we agreed to go to a highway motel down the road- all this change for a free bottle of red wine. Everything was supposed to be confirmed by her in emails which we never received. We ended up calling both hotels 3-4 times to ensure we had some place to stay. We had a lot of anxiety over this and we were upset it spoiled travelling and staying in the area . The hotel we were moved to did not even have heat and was basically shabby. I guess you can say we were better off than others as we met another couple who were in same situation. Unfortunately they never answered Cindy's calls and so when they got to the hotel, there was no accommodation for them. They were forced to stay in a trailer of the owners behind the hotel. This was a big disappointment for more stayers than just us. When we went to pick up her gift of red wine the hotel office was closed as no vacancy but we knocked on door and made a phone call, and finally we were let in to pick up the free wine. We're very glad this part of our trip is over
I don't like the way it is run
Stanza grande, confortevole e silenziosa. Posizione ottima con vista sulle montagne innevate. Parcheggi a volontà.
Great location, always comfy!
Quick check in, nice staff, clean rooms, beds comfortable
Location was good. Coffee maker in room worked well.
Shower temperature was too hot, and couldn't be cooled well.
Location was good.
Towels were dirty. Several stains on several towels.
This is a plain vanilla lodging—nothing fancy, but a good place to spend a night along the highway. The staff were very helpful, and the view cannot be beat.
Convient local, always clean. We stay twice a year going north and south to Alaska.
Waited to book to long last fall and had to stay another place. Big mistake. It would be nice to be able to charge cell by the bed.
The views are outstanding. Very cleaning room. The beds need to be updated.
The uncomfortable beds.
After a long day of travel a hot shower, comfy bed and yummy food right next door makes Alcan Motor Inn AMAZING!
n/a , everything was great!
Clean, comfortable quiet room
Location, access to the room, room size, cleanliness, check in and out procedure.
No complaints
Great food at the pub. Beautiful views of the mountains.
I would have preferred longer/24-hours for the front office, but in lieu of that, I am grateful that the staff were able to accommodate my late arrival after the front office was closed. They provided instructions for me. It was convenient that the washing sink was separate from the bathroom. I liked that they extend the life of towels by offering the old tattered towels as rags. I was able to get some use out of them for cleaning my hiking shoes.
The lotion bottles were biodegradeable which is good, but the lotion itself contained paraffinum liquidum (mineral oil), which is not very biodegradable.
Les chambres sont grandes, bien décorées et très bien équipées. Le coucher de soleil depuis le 1er étage face aux montagnes est vraiment incroyable.
Location
I didn't see any stuff. Even check in and out
