Last minute booking, communication was easy and efficient. Was easy to get to by car, great location. Beautiful view. Receptionist was welcoming and friendly. Great sized bed with swivel TV. Had all necessary amenities. Has local pub right across the road, where we enjoyed a delicious meal. Enjoyed the stay.

Hosts were kind, respectful and friendly. They went "above and beyond" in making our stay a fantastic experience.

A little pricey for off season shoulder.

Spotlessly clean and everything you could need was provided. Comfortable bed. Judy was a superb host and couldn’t do enough to help. And to top it off, beautiful views of the harbour!

The water pressure in the shower wasn’t great.

The hotel is right across from the Whangaroa harbour. I’ve never seen water quite so blue! Simply Beautiful! There is a wonderful fishing club restaurant and the food was very good! Our room was super clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. Craig and Judy were extraordinary hosts. They were very welcoming and gave great ideas of what to do in the area. I would recommend this place to stay.

As we were the only guests when we arrived we were given a free upgrade to our room. Judy was so friendly and helpful with suggestions for hikes and where to eat. After getting muddy clothes, we were given free use of the washing machine. Judy was also very keen to give us fresh home-grown produce which we cooked and enjoyed.

Perhaps the vegetable peeler needs replacing.

Air conditioning would have been a plus as to unit faces the afternoon sun and temperatures get a bit on the warm side.

Excellent location overlooking the Harbour. For me what stood out is the hiking trails information in the compendium in the room. Hosts were really genuine people. Highly recommend property.

Very clean accommodation. Stunning views. Firm bed and pillows. Great self-catering facilities. Spacious bathroom. Short (steep) stroll to Fishing Club for dinner.

The view over the harbour and marina, which was full of game- fishing boats, was exceptional. Especially in the morning with the sun illuminating the small island in the middle of the bay. No grocery store, but only a 15 minute drive to Kaeo. The Game Fishing Club, opened at 5pm and had an extensive range of food and drinks. Highly recommend the "beef nachos". The driveway to the motel was very steep, we needed to drive to the club even though it was at the base of the driveway.... Our hosts, Judy and Craig, were very informative about the district and also a very friendly couple

Everything was fine .. no regrets.

Our time in Whangaroa with Judy and Craig would appear to be carbon copy of everyone else's. Warmly welcomed, included in a quiz night at the local fishing club (heaps of fun and new friends made) and lots of helpful information about what to see in the gorgeous location of Whangaroa. Our visit here will always be a highlight of this holiday.

This is a stunning location with amazing views over the bay, perfect to enjoy the sunset. Everything is spotlessly clean and Judy is an amazing host. A bonus is that the fishing club with restaurant is just a short stroll away. We highly recommend this place, it’s magical!

The location perched above the fishing club and wharf was magical. We were invited to dine at the club which was delicious, reasonably priced and very convenient. A wonderful stay and we wish we had stayed longer.

fabulous room, it looked like it had very recently been decorated, lovely bright art on the walls. The room was big and bed was huge, comfortable seating, with great views from the balcony. The owners were friendlyOne of our best stays in a month of travel.

the view from the hotel is amazing. when we arrived, we were greeted and welcomed by Judy. We had a very large room with everything you need for a lovely stay. The highlight, however, were the incredibly valuable tips and advice from Judy and her husband. We have travelled a lot, but we have never received such personal (and handwritten) advice and tips for our trip. We can unreservedly recommend a stay there!

Absolutely absolutely nothing

The View from the room is awesome and the small walk down the hill to the boat club gave a great diner and a few nice beers. Very peacefull and quiet.

It was very warm, and although fans were supplied the rooms could really do with Air Conditioning.

great location above the harbour with magnificent views from all units. The hosts (Judy and Craig) were knowledgeable about the area and gave us great ideas for our stay. They were extremely helpful and accommodating (and relaxed). The units are all being refurbished to a high standard and are therefore very clean and comfortable. AND they provide proper milk (not UHT sachets) and good sized mugs! :)

Perfect location and amazing hosts.

Excellent location with views of the harbour and close to all amenities including the fishing club which has also great views and dining. Judy and Craig are also great hosts, friendly and helpful with lots of local knowledge to share and the occasional treat to make your stay more enjoyable.

The motel locate a scenic place. I could enjoy good breakfast as i made meal with their cooking tools.

It would be better to install air conditioning system.

The location and the view. The proprietors. The gardens. Proximity to the Sport Fishing Club for meals out.

No lighter weight bedding for hot nights. Limited cooking facilities in the unit. Air conditioning would have been welcome.

Great private, peaceful location. Handy for our Whānau reunion at Te Touwai marae to bring my Mum and Aunty back for a comfortable safe sleep on a good bed :-) Judy and Craig - thank you for being great friendly hosts.

Not wanting to bring a downer to a great stay but there were a few cockroaches crawling about the little stove, sink area. Noticed at night and early morning when making a cuppa. Nothing that wasn’t fixed with a hot, soapy wipe down.

The fridge didn't work, required to use communal fridge downstairs outside in alleyway next to rubbish bins. Shower pressure and water volume totally insufficient for showering, toilet cistern took 5 minutes to refill. When raised with owners their belief was there was no issue and showed no willingness to rectify either situation. Charged premium nightly rate for substandard room

A really lovely wee place, outstanding view and staff were so helpful and friendly. Really big room and bed as well.

The shower pressure was a little lackluster but I think this is fairly standard for a place that's fairly remote - just to warn you!

-Cockroaches and ants in the second apartment. - Blood on the duvet cover (for that bed, the adult slept in their own sleeping bag, they didn’t use the actual bedding and stripped the bed back in the morning to find the blood. - The water pressure was atrocious. We get the tanks are at the same height as the showers, hence the lack of pressure (not necessarily the owners fault, but if you want a decent shower, with actual pressure, don't stay here). - The beds are not comfortable.
