Our stay at Marari Xavier’s Inn was truly memorable. The homestay is located just a short walk from the beautiful Beach, making it perfect for a peaceful and relaxing getaway. The rooms were very clean, spacious, and well-maintained, providing a comfortable stay throughout. What stood out the most was the warm hospitality of the hosts—they made us feel completely at home and were always ready to help with anything we needed. The food was another highlight of our stay. The homemade Kerala dishes were fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care, giving us an authentic local experience. If you are looking for a calm, budget-friendly beach stay with excellent service and a homely atmosphere, Marari Xavier’s Inn is a wonderful choice. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Marari!

The room and the facility itself was very dirty and filthy. There was a pool that was beyond filthy with water that looked like brown mud. See attached photo. The location was great. The staff was updated for our arrival. No one as there to greet us or help us with our luggage. Very upsetting that no one was there when we arrived.

Комнаты очень чистые и уютные. Хозяева помогают во всем и если нужны развлечения, то организовывают вам и досуг. Я очень рекомендую это место для отдыха и можно останавливаться даже на долгий срок. Спасибо хозяевам за добрый прием. Я бы очень хотела вернуться и надеюсь это обязательно случится.

Marari Xavier’s Inn is a wonderful homestay just steps from Marari Beach. My room was spotless, spacious, and equipped with all the essentials—including a fridge, which was really convenient for keeping drinks and fruit cool in the Kerala heat. The location is peaceful, perfect for sunrise walks or relaxing by the sea. Albert and Sunitha are amazing hosts who make you feel like part of their family. The home-cooked meals were delicious, especially the local Kerala dishes. If you want a clean, comfortable, and well-equipped stay with warm hospitality and great food, this is the place I’d highly recommend.

The stay was beyond what i expected.The hospitality of the entire team was priceless.I would recommend the stay in future for anyone who desires to enjoy a peaceful staycation.

Beautiful surroundings and home like feel. Loved how clean the rooms were. Ac worked very well and dining area outside was also very nice. Private beach was beautiful. Very clean. Breakfast was also delicious. Best part was our hosts very warm and welcoming family made us feel at home.

The location is unbeatable—just a few steps from a quiet stretch of Marari Beach, where you can enjoy serene sunrises, peaceful sunsets, and the soothing sound of waves all day long. My room was spotless, spacious, and comfortable, with a balcony view of the sea that made mornings magical. The highlight, apart from the stunning surroundings, was the food. Sunitha’s home-cooked Kerala meals were simply delicious—fresh seafood, fragrant curries, and generous breakfasts that set the tone for the day. Every little detail was taken care of, from organizing local activities to making sure I had everything I needed. It’s rare to find a place that blends professional service with the genuine warmth of a homestay, but Xavier’s Inn does it effortlessly. If you want a peaceful, clean, and welcoming place by the beach, with the best hosts you could hope for—this is it. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

The family was very nice, kind and very helpful. They organized a boat tour for me, some local shopping and the 2.5 hour drive to my next location (Albert drove me himself). The food was excellent, evrything was clean and well-maintained. The room was big and perfectly adequate. The property is almost directly by the beach, there is a semi-private beach. Otheriwse it is a little remote, but since Albert is happy to drive the guests, this is not a problem. Sunitha (?) showed me some local crafts and told me about some local customs and culture, so it was an interesting and immersive experience.

- lovely hosts eager to make your stay enjoyable - delicious breakfasts - tasty food available for lunch and dinner, good value - cheap easy tuk tuk ride to backwaters at Allepuzha (Oliver's Travels group Canoe trip recommended) - clean, litter free little beach just in front of propetty gorgeous for swimming and sunsets. (At first we were confused as this is not the main Marari Beach we had expected, there are no shops or beach cafes here, they are a tuk tuk ride away to the North. However, once we'd visited the beaches at Marari and Allepuzha - both littered and agoraphobically vast - we fell in love even more with the little 'private' beach in front of this homestay. With working fishermen's cottages around there is also a fast disappearing authenticity to this area).

Albert and Sunitha made sure we had a very easy and relaxed stay, ensuring we had everything we needed. I rarely rate a place with a 10 but this place deserves nothing less than a 10. In addition to the excellent care and lovely friendship this couple so generously give, you get an amazing private beach a few steps away. During the sunset, we walked onto the beach and into the warm water to watch the sun set. Definitely book this place if you are in the area.

The location was amazing, right on the beach in a friendly, quiet neighborhood. I felt completely safe walking around the neighborhood alone. The meals were reasonably priced and delicious and the family was very kind and helpful.

This is just heaven!! The best welcome I had in Kerala!!! When you arrive here it's like getting home because everyone treats you like family. I spent New Year's eve and was invited to celebrate with the family and friends!! Thank you again once more!!! My room was very comfortable and very clean. The best had a good quality mattress. The bathroom was big and I appreciated the non slippery tiles on the floor!!! The beach is 20 meters away and is like a private beach so beautiful! 50 meters on the beach comes the river and it makes a very nice scenery!!! The food is delicious and freshly prepared on demand by Sunitha who's such a nice chef!! Everyone is dedicated to make your stay very special and I was very grateful for that. The beautiful young girls bring you food with a large smile on the face and the young boys don't hesitate to carry heavy luggage!!

The property has a beach in front which essentially becomes a private beach and I had an amazing time sitting there during sunset. The hosts are very nice and helpful and catered to all our requests during the stay. The room, balcony, washroom, were all very clean and hygienic. We had a very lovely stay here and would love to return in the future.

From check in to check out and everything in between. Hosts were amazing and the home cooked meals are a must try if you want to have authentic Kerala food (which is cooked at their house). Appam and Chicken ghee roast was so so good . Must visit for anyone visiting Allepey.

The hosts Sunitha and Albert were extremely welcoming and hospitable to me throughout my whole stay. Sunitha is an excellent cook and provided me with some excellent local style home cooked meals. Everyday she asked if I wanted dinner and what my choices were. I was never disappointed with the results . Albert organised some trips for me with his local contacts. They asked what I wanted to do, and also made helpful suggestions. Albert either took me to the destination himself, or arranged alternative transportation. He ensured that I was collected at a designated time and place to ensure my safe return. As a solo female traveller , this made me feel safe and secure going out alone, and that someone was checking on my safety. My room was clean and comfortable, with all amenities as described. Wi-fi was excellent.. Proximity to a lovely peaceful unspoilt beach was amazing. There were very few tourists around, which was a joy, and I loved watching the local fishermen launch their boats in the evening and return early in the morning. The west facing beach had the most incredible sun-sets I have ever seen!! This was an extremely relaxing 'get away from it all ' holiday. Perfect.

The room was described as having a sea view.This was not strictly true as the view was obscured by trees and foliage. The sea was only a few meters away however and I did enjoy listening to the waves.

The hosts were wonderful. Very accommodating and warm. Truly felt like part of their family during my stay here. The meals made by Sunitha were the best I've had in Allepey and perhaps during my entire trip in Kerala.

We stayed for only two days at Marari Xavier’s Inn Homestay, but wished we would have stayed longer.. The owners are sweet and very helpful. The meals served are delicious and they are open for any preferences. The room we had was clean and comfortable with a nice terrace. On only 1 minute walk you will find a clean and private beach where you can go for a refreshing swim. Every morning, we enjoyed a morning yoga routine to start the day well. We would 100% recommend to stay here with this warm family!

We had been to this homestay just for 1 night and yes the experience was really amazing. They have rooms overlooking beach. Food is also excellent especially during breakfast even though they had limited items but food taste really good. Service is also really good and the family was very nice.

The homestay is next to the sea and you get a sea view from the common balcony. The host Albert was very welcoming and provided free breakfast. We forgot one dress in almirah during our stay and he couriered it back to us. :)

Breakfast and access to the beach

The sea view room doesn't have a sea view. The rooms were hot and the ac takes forever to cool.

Breakfast was good, especially the coffee was the best. The beach is also very near, although I did not go there many times since it had crabs. Also in dinner the pineapple juice sealed the deal. The rates for food are reasonable.

A bit more variety such as addition of bread butter in breakfast etc. is required. Dinner is slightly oily both for veg and non veg food.

Thin walls. We could hear the family 2 rooms apart from our room. They weren't loud, its just that the walls are too thin.

Family running the establishment gave exceptional service and went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Also extremely close to the beach and in a lovely area all around. I would love to stay there again!

The hosts- including Mr. Albert and his lovely family will leave no stone unturned to ensure that you feel right at home, combined with the food cooked freshly in the kitchen by the lovely aunty( Mr. Albert's wife). Do bear in mind that this is a homestay and not a commercialised hotel and as far as my stay here, I had a wonderful time and am eagerly looking forward to my next trip here.

The hosts are warm and welcoming, and were always ready to provide anything. They did everything to make it stress free. The room was not fancy, but the whole homestay is excellent value for money. The food is home-cooked and simply fantastic! It's a small place with 4 (soon 5) rooms, so spending time with their family and other guests is easy. The local community was also wonderfully open and friendly on my walks around. Their private beach means that you basically have it all to yourself, so if you're looking to spend some time in secluded peace and quiet (not easy in India), and enjoy spectacular sunsets, this is the place. I would highly recommend Albert and Sunipta's place, and will certainly stay there on my next trip to Kerala!

Costs of transport, food, and trips could be more clear and told up front. The menu didn't have prices, for example, which made it challenging to budget. Not a big thing, but it brings me to my next point. Only cash is accepted. This is pretty standard in India and I understand the reasons for it, but it meant several ATM runs to get enough cash, since Indian banks limit foreign debit card withdrawals to 10 000 rs. That meant fees that added up quickly. A card machine may not be the worst thing to consider. Details: a few more hangers in the room, another towel hook in the bathroom :)

Situated on the beach, Xaviers Inn was a pleasant surprise. The room was on the first floor, facing the sea. Although there was a small house between the balcony and the sea, it did not block the view. The room and bath were very clean and comfortable. Mr Albert and his wife were excellent hosts and they went out of there way to cater to all our needs and requests. The breakfast and dinner were outstanding. The sea was safe to swim and the waters very pleasant.

The locals use the sea for their morning business. Wish the local authorities would provide them with public toilets and convince them to use them!

It’s a great place to stay.It was the best experience staying there. The beach was very close to the property and it is a private beach and I love it .Location is very beautiful and close to nature. This place is very well maintained...Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the Owner(Albert).Staff was extremely friendly.Home cooked food was yummy. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. We loved the ambience. Especially Albert help us in every situation and Sunitha 's food was so delicious. The place was simply fabulous. The location to the beach, tidiness of the rooms, service, and host's friendliness was top👌 Beach is very beautiful, barely anyone - secluded Sunitha and Albert want to ensure your comfort 👍 Breakfast was included. Other meals can be provided on payment, which might be cheaper than ordering.
