Happy Homestay Banlung & Trekking

Der Besitzer und seine Familie waren aufmerksam und freundlich. Die Unterkunft war rustikal, man fühlte sich wie zu Hause. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Der Besitzer hat uns spät abends an der Bushaltestelle abgeholt und uns für die Weiterreise einen Bus organisiert und uns dahin gebracht. Nach unserem Jungletrek durften wir noch einmal ins Zimmer duschen und ausruhen. Alles for free. Der Jungletrek wurde von ihm und seinem Freund top organisiert. Wir konnten gleich am nächsten Tag los. Es war der Hammer!

Not soundproof and hot in the room - Also I would not recommend the one day tour offered by the guest house - guide would not give information, tuktuk driver would have been half price!

Mr Happy ist ein super Host. Wir haben über ihn eine Tour in den Nationalpark gebucht und haben das Abenteuer sehr genossen.

Alles super gemütlich Überall hängen Hängematten zum Entspannen. Tolle 2 tägige Trekkingtour in den Virachey NP über ihn gebucht.

I liked the simplicity of it. The shower was excellent. The host speaks very good English.

My pillow was a bit lumpy.

Mr. Happy and his family were the absolute nicest. Him and his wife even made us dinner after we went to the market and bought crab. They were exceptionally helpful, aiding us in booking a tour and transport onwards. The accommodation itself is basic but with comfy beds and very clean. The highlight is by far Mr. Happy and his warm hospitality. They also have a very cute puppy

On a beaucoup aimé partager des moments avec Vutha, qui est toujours disponible pour nous aider, nous conseiller et nous amener avec lui hors des sentiers battus. On a adoré le trek de 2 nuits 3 jours avec Mr Touh et Mr Veul, ce fut une aventure memorable, merci !

Monsieur Happy est très accueillant et vous permettra d’en apprendre plus sur la région, le logement est très agréable et bien placé ! il y a également la possibilité te de réserver des trecks ou de louer des motos, parfait pour visiter Ban Lung !

It was really nice staying at Happy Homestay ! Stayed there two nights, the owner will help you with anything if needed. You also have the possibility to do a one day hiking and tour which was great ! I recommend 100% this place if you want to stay if Banlung !

Host was incredible and the trekking experience was perfect

It’s beautiful here. Again. I came here a year ago and returned to spend even more time. This time there is also a bicycle rental available :) The room is lovely, the bed is cosy, the shower is great, location is perfect, WiFi is good, Mr Happy is still a perfect host and Banlung itself is just lovely

We got what we expected for the price. We liked the stay. The owner is tour guide also and would help you with anything you need. I just missed the windows:)

The bed was big and comfy and the window shutters shut out all of the light which made for a great sleep. It was nice to have a bathroom for myself as well as a table and chairs in the room.

We noticed the host lied to us quite a few times unecessarily and we felt a bit deceived. For example, the moment we arrived we were assured there was hot water (without us asking) which there clearly never was and we were also told he was the only one offering a certain tour when we later found out other people had done the same thing.

Mr happy is a very pleasant man, who can help you with your holiday plans, like trekking etc.

There was a giant cockroach covered in ants on the floor and there no toiletries as advertised- complete dung heap

Wow I loved this place, so relaxing and so much to do. Mr happy is very laid back and friendly. We went out and ate food together, I did the trekking and had so much fun. I could not recommend this place enough - just book a room!!!

The house is hide in a street at the border with nature, but also has the perfect location: not too near to the center and not too far from it. Inside is all wood-made and so nice.

The owner said no welcome to khmer people so me as a Cambodian was very disappointed

I loooved it here. I stayed a day longer and I was already staying a week. The room is big and beautiful, the bed is big and cosy, the bathroom is great and the water pressure is unexpectedly good too. I loved how helpful Mr Happy was in helping me rent a bike. I cycled everywhere. The location is perfect as it's close to lots of interesting local food places and a lovely coffee stall. I feel like I've made a friend for life in Mr Happy and in Banlung I've found a home away from home. I cannot wait to come back. Oh and the internet was fab too, as a digital nomad I had no problems working from here.

Price, lanch and breakfast, and the host was nice, he provided free cut fresh watermelon after breakfast :-)

all the sounds from the neighboring room can be clearly heard through the partitions of the room, and since there was a family with three children staying there, it was necessary to wait until they calmed down and then I could fall asleep, and in some places you can see what the neighbors are doing through the gaps in the wooden wall, the same in the toilet.

Very cosy place, rooms with good space, shadow area to relax in hammocks and tables to have food any time. Mr. Happy organized a 3 day jungle tour for our family (with two boys 12 and 14). We had a great time together with Mr. Tho and his friend as guides. We learned so much about Kavet minority, plants to eat and to heal, fishing, using bamboo for cooking, drinking, rafting, building..., housing, farming... amazing! We really loved it to be on the trip with those guys! Highly recommend, both tour and Mr. Happy homestay 😊

Great, friendly staff! The room is cosy and quiet. Great atmosphere :) Great value for money. Food available nearby, standard price ($2.5 a meal). Laundry service available (1kg per kilo). Wifi works great.

No hot water, it's $2 extra but we decided not to take it. Watch out if you do laundry, the teenager tried to charge us for 8kg although we had not even 4kg. Make her weight the laundry in front of you. No soap and no shampoo.

Welcoming host, good food from family restaurant nearby. Rooms spacious with fan and comfortable bed, bathroom basic but sufficient.

Mr. Vutha was very attentive. He picked us up at the bus stop on his own initiative. The bungalow was clean and wide. Offered fruits ans good cooking. Thank you again Mr Happy.

Highly recommend Happy homestay, Mr. Vutha is a wunderful host and he helps to solve every problem or answer my questions. Next time in Cambodia, I will join Happy Homestay again

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Happy Guesthouse. The room was spacious, the neighborhood was cozy, and the owner was very welcoming. Indeed, I embarked on an adventurous route recommended by the guesthouse owner, which took me through the Veun Sai-Siem Pang National Park. It was an unforgettable experience, cycling through savannah-like landscapes and passing by multiple tribal villages. Thanks for the tips! It was fantastic.

Friendly staff which was all Mr Happy family, close to everything you need, it mean street restaurants, supermarket, ATM, laundry and market. Mr Happy know area and can help with trip planning, there is scooter to rent so a lot of problems sorted, area is easy to navigate even with no proper map. I like Mr Happy hand made knife and he drive for free me to 2 black smiths and I was able to buy one myself which would be impossible without his help. Trip to game stone mine was very interesting, maybe I should barging bit more for price. I got free drive to bus station on way back.

At the morning street noise and animals next to building were bit to loud but it is beauty of place. Mr. Happy need to come back from jungle trekking due to health problem and i was left with MR Nein (great guide, but with broken English, I MEAN GREAT GUIDE) this was bit safety issue in case something happened to Mr Nein as on my own I would be not able to get out of jungle, I need to stress that there was no single moment I do not feel safe.

Vutha aka Mr. Happy is really taking care of his costumers. Very helpful. The Homestay is relaxed and quite. Vutha‘s wife is a brilliant cook. We recommend Happy Homestay very much!

You should 100% go there, super super owner, Mr Happy is an increadible host, with a big smile always in her face He bring us 3 days in the national park out of common paths Always here to give advice and help !! Go straight there without hesitating

Everything was fine!

The Host, Mr Vutha, is the nicest person. He'll make sure that you are comfortable and will take care of you if needed. The location is great and the room is spacious and comfortable.

It's a bungalow, so ant, mosquitoes and other stuff can get in. It's not necessarily a bad thing, just take this into account.

Good location, super helpful owner, and they sell delicious food as well! Everything you need is right there. The owners were also very flexible with Check-In and Check-Out times, that helped a lot.

The room itself has no windows, so getting fresh air in (especially during heavy rain) is a little tricky. But there is seating outside available, partly under the roof as well, so you can sit outside any time!

Mr Happy the owner is amazing to help plan trecks, bus, taxis, very nice and helpful. The location is in a small local street which makes the hostel perfect. Be aware that the bathroom is quite old school, but it's really clean so nice!

Really enjoyed our stay here. Comfortable bed with a powerful fan to keep you cool overnight. Also, mosquito net provided which had no holes! Mr Vutha, the owner, is a lovely guy. Really helpful with sorting out bikes/transport and picked us up from the bus station. Also we did a 1 day trek with him which was great value for money and had a great experience! Would stay here again.

Good localization. Large rooms, comfortable beds with mosquito nets. No air conditioning but each bed has its own fan. Cleanly. Very nice and helpful owners. They will help organize everything from scooter to jungle trekking. When I returned from trekking the day before due to the weather, I got a partial refund. Good wi-fi. Very good price!

Only a mirror and light in the bathroom could be better as it's hard to shave 😉. But this is small problem.

The best thing about the property is the owner, Mr Happy. He’a great guy to have around, he can help with just about anything and on top of that he’s a pleasure to talk to. The property itself is neat, tidy and comfortable with plenty of power outlets and a misquote net. The location is great too, just a short walk from the centre of town. Being able to rent a scooter from here is also a nice bonus.

Room was very spacious and clean with a really nice bed linen. Mr. Vutah is super positive and friendly. Can easily organize everything you need. Free banana and water refill. Comfy hammock.

The only problem is the noise. You will hear everything what is going on outside. Unless you have a really deep sleep.

An excellent place to stay if you want value for money. Central location, clean enough, cheap rooms and reasonably priced 1-7 night treks to The national park. We did a 2 night trek which was tough but rewarding. The owner joined us himself. His cute dog came too. Owner can handle any bus tickets etc. and they have a water refilling point.

The wifi was a little wonky when inside the rooms but the owner said the router is going to be moved for better coverage.

My room was very large, including an indoor table and chairs plus a lovely terrace in front with table, chairs and hammocks. A nice place to sit and observe local life. The fan and lighting were great in the room, and the bed was large, comfy and clean. The host Mr Happy and his family were all very pleasant and eager to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. This place is very good value for the price. Plus I went on a very pleasant half day trip with Mr Happy as my guide to the beautiful nearby lake and ethnic minority village, which is excellent if you are interested in traditional weaving. He is a very informative and fun-loving guide who speaks great English.

Very new (we were the first guests in the room ever), very good location and price. Breakfast and laundry available, owner is very helpful with tours and bus tickets.

An excellent and relaxing place to stay, close to the centre of Banlung, with resteraunts, street stalls, and the lively and colourful town market within easy walking distance. Great value and Mr Happy has lots of local knowledge, speaks good English and can organise tuk tuks, guided tours and trekking, scooter rental etc and Mrs Happy has Socheata Resteraunt next door and cooks delicious local cuisine every day.
