Mais surtout merci pour l'accueil qui était magique et particulièrement à Abdou qui nous a fait visiter la palmeraie et a été d'une gentillesse inouïe avec nous du début à la fin. Et en bonus, un repas et petit déjeuner parmi les meilleurs de notre voyage. On a hâte de revenir !

Reviewed May 14, 2026Das Zimmer war gross, sauber und hatte einen fantastischen Ausblick auf die Oase im Canyon. Das Frühstück und das Abendessen waren hervorragend. Die Betreiberfamilie ist rundum zuvorkommend und sehr freundlich. Hier würden wir gerne noch einmal hinkommen, da such die Lage einmalig ist.
Alles war zu unserer vollständigen Zufriedenheit.

De vriendelijke ontvangst. Het heerlijke ontbijt en het verrukkelijke en met liefde bereide diner. De dorpjes links en rechts, voor de korte contacten met de mensen.

Wir hatten Erdbeeren, Orangen, Annanas, Bananen, Äpfel, Joghurt, Frischkäse, Oliven, Brot, Pfannkuchen, Seminiola, Omlet, Marmeladen, Tomaten, Gurken, Kuchen, frisch gepressten Orangensaft etc. Das Menü am Abend war ebenfalls weit überdurchschnittlich. Auch hier wieder reife lokale Produkte und schmackhafte Zubereitung. Die Lage ist ebenfalss toll. Direkt in der Oase am Ziz-Fluss. Ruhig und idyllisch. Der Gastgeber Said ist unglaublich freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unser Zimmer war sehr gross und sauber mit schönem Blick über die Oase.
Dusche am Morgen war leider nur lauwarm.

Malheureusement, l’expérience a été entachée par l’accueil : la réceptionniste s’est montrée particulièrement insistante en nous demandant des documents pour prouver que nous étions mariés, alors même que la réglementation a évolué. Et nous ne nous promenons pas avec notre acte de mariage comme elle l’aurait voulu. Dommage, car le lieu mérite autrement d’excellentes appréciations.

The rooms are very comfortable, with great beds, and the views from both the restaurant and the terrace are simply stunning. Even though we arrived late, they still prepared a delicious, freshly made meal for us, which we really appreciated. The breakfast was absolutely superb! Highly recommended.

It is highly recommended for anyone wishing an authentic Moroccan experience “off the beaten track” Experiencing the food and Moroccan tea at the Maison D’Hotes Sahara it’s a must and one of the highlights. The staff are super nice and attentive and the property is spotless. Really a gem find.

Reviewed Apr 7, 2026What a beautiful place, a hidden gem in the Ziz Valley. The views over the palm oasis are amazing, especially when lit up by the stars at night. The food, both dinner and breakfast, was delicious and highly varied with fruit, vegetables and tajine. Khira went out of her way for us and even took the effort to bring our son’s bag all the way to Erfoud the next day after we had forgotten this at the hotel. The village nearby is worth a short visit, the people are very friendly. Thanks so much Khira for your generosity and hospitality!

Die beeindruckende Ziz Schlucht ist nicht weit. Also kann, und muss man eigentlich mindestens 2 Nächte bleiben.Ausserdem bietet Zaouit auch weitere Aktivitäten an. Ein wirklicher Genuß. Man wähnt sich in einem Kinofilm.

Das Abendessen als auch das Frühstück waren eines der besten auf unserer Rundreise durch Marokko. Das Hotel wird familiengeführt und alle waren unfassbar nett. Allen vorweg Said. 😊 Wir waren leider nur für eine Nacht dort und wären sehr gern noch länger geblieben.

Said exemplified Morroccan hospitality at its best. You will not be disappointed. Two thumbs up. Shower was hot. Everything was super clean. The views of the gorge was amazing with a beautiful sunrise and sunset. Would stay here for longer. Great spot to stay on your way back or from the Sahara.
For me, the bed was a bit too firm but my parents loved the beds. Personal opinion.

Die Zimmer und das ganze Haus liebevoll eingerichtet, mehrere Plätze zum Entspannen im Haus und im Garten vorhanden. Die Dachterrasse ein Traum mit unvergleichlicher Aussicht in ungewohnter Stille, nachts ein beeindruckender Sternenhimmel. Und zu guter Letzt, das beste Abendessen und Frühstück der ganzen Reise. Das ist eine 10 mit mehreren *****Nächstes Mal bleiben wir länger als nur eine Nacht

Die Unterkunft liegt etwas abgelegen, man sollte sich nicht von der schmalen Straße durch die Dörfer irritieren lassen.
Das Hotel liegt abgelegen. Man sollte es nicht buchen, wenn man Restaurants, Geschäfte o. Ä. fußläufig in der Nähe erwartet.

Man kann abends bei völliger Ruhe auf der Dachterrasse liegen und den Sternenhimmel bewundern. Die beste Unterkunft, die wir in Marokko hatten.

Das Hotel liegt über einem langgestreckten Dorf an einer Steilwand mit tollem Blick auf die Oase im Tal und die gegenüberliegenden Felsformationen! Super Restaurant und geniales Frühstück, hier wird mit Liebe gearbeitet. Freundliches Personal, für alles ist gesorgt! Reisen sie rechtzeitig an, um den Sonnenuntergang nicht zu verpassen!
Nichts! Die Anreise ist etwas abenteuerlich, ist es aber wert! Man biegt auf der N13 ab auf einer Hochebene und glaubt nicht, daß irgendwas kommt, schon gar kein Hotel! Plötzlich öffnet sich das Flußtal mit dem Dorf Amelkis, die Straße zieht sich durch die Oase, bis plötzlich wie eine Fata Morgana das Hotel über einem erscheint!

If you are expecting luxury, this is not the place, however, everything was provided for a comfortable stay.

Reviewed Oct 6, 2025The place is uniquely situated in a lush green valley or canyon with dramatic scenery and views. The staff is friendly and flexible , actually a family running the place. Everything is inmaculately clean. Fantastic rooftop for star gazing or just enjoying panoramic views. Room views are awesome too.
The bathroom might use an update. When approaching the place the property doors are closed and no doorbell or any other obvious way of asking to be let is. We got off, banged the door and it was soon responded, but the process was a bit awkward and ad-hoc, a better procedure would help guest arrive seamlessly.

Reviewed May 17, 2025Do not stay in Errachidia, stay here! It's 25 minutes away from the airport. The owners are some of the nicest people I met on my travels, and the food was wonderful. It's worth staying here just for the view alone. The owner went out of her way to prepare dinner for us and it was exactly what we needed, all fresh local produce. We were unable to find anything decent in Errachidia. I cannot recommend this place enough, you won't be disappointed. The Ziz valley is not to be missed, and you will be right in the middle of it.

Reviewed May 3, 2025This Maison D'hotes is a hidden gem on the route to Merzouga and one of the best places we stayed in our 2.5 weeks touring Morocco. Warm welcome, excellent evening meal which was very good value. We had a fabulous walk through the beautiful oasis where the locals were very friendly. And to top it all off, the stargazing from the huge roof terrace was simply incredible.
Don't have a bad word to say about this place.

Reviewed Jan 12, 2025Wow! What an amazing experience! Our stay was truly memorable, thanks to the wonderful staff and excellent facilities. The food was exceptional, making our group of 13 feel right at home. Initially as we were driving through the dark roads to what felt like the middle of nowhere, we had some concerns about choosing a place in a small village. However, upon our late-night arrival, we were warmly welcomed. We brought our dinner with us as we had enough of Tajine; they were extremely kind to provide us with fresh orange juice to accompany our meal. The next morning, we were greeted by breathtaking views of the palm oasis, and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast - fresh avocados, salads, and traditional Moroccan dishes. We enjoyed hiking to the nearby mountains and exploring the beautiful palm groves. I also want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to Khira (I hope I spelled that correctly), who went above and beyond during a challenging moment. When my daughter became ill during the night, Khira was incredibly helpful. She accompanied us to the hospital, assisted with translations, and supported us throughout the entire process, all while maintaining a positive and kind demeanor. The next morning, despite her long night, she was back to her regular routine. We are extremely grateful for her assistance. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a stay in the area.
The town was a bit dusty and there was a lot of trash sitting around.

Only suggestion to other travelers is to bring your own wine or beer if you’d like to have a glass. But this is true throughout Morocco.
