We ate dinner on the property and had some of the best Weiner Schnitzel we've ever eaten! 10/10 stay, would absolutely come here again.

Reviewed Jun 24, 2026The building was very beautiful very old world but suited our needs for somewhere quiet and peaceful. The room was very clean and tidy and quite cool when the weather outside was extremely hot. Although the room lacked the usual tea or coffee making facilities it did not detract from the value of the room. Having some disability myself the owner was very helpful with luggage and allowed parking close to the entrance. The breakfast was traditionally limited in choice but very satisfying. I would certainly recommend this place for anyone on short trips who are looking for tradition and peaceful surroundings.
The only thing I can think of was the breakfast could have a little more choices, perhaps boiled eggs or a bigger selection of jams. But even what was available was still ok and the service was very good.

Breakfast was perfect to fuel you up before a day of hiking. The service was exceptional and the staff were so kind. One of our favourite trips to date. We will be back. Thank you for everything! The breakfast was a nice spread of fresh breads, jam, meats, yogurt, muesli, and eggs as well as coffee and orange juice. The owners were very friendly as well.

Reviewed Jun 8, 2026Gute Lage in Weissbad. Ruhig gelegen oberhalb der Bahnlinie mit schönem Blick in die Berge, Sehr freundliche Besitzerfamilie/Personal. Nettes, einfaches Zimmer aber völlig ok für solch ein eher kleines Landhotel. Gute Betten. Rollläden, so das man das Zimmer gut verdunkeln kann. Sehr angenehm! Sehr sauber überall. Gemütliche Gaststube mit gutem Frühstück inkl. Aufschnitt und Käse.
Eine Kleinigkeit: Die Kissen sind mit Federn gefüllt. Das knistert beim darauf liegen und stört mich persönlich. Also entweder eine Füllung aus irgendeinem künstlichen Material oder Daunen nehmen - das wäre angenehm. Sonst alles bestens.

Einerseits schön dass es so viele, schöne, grosse Bäume hat, andererseits schränkt es die Aussicht ein. Was mir gar nicht gefallen hat ist, das Hotel macht den Eindruck von einem Flohmarkt.. :-/ viel zu viel Krimskrams! Weniger wäre mehr.

Vor allem der Restaurantbereich ist gespickt mit liebevoll dekorierten Raritäten aus vergangener Zeit. Die sehr freundlichen und aufmerksamen Gastgeber, welche uns sogar abgeholt hätten, da kein öV Betrieb mehr fuhr.

Очень милые и приветливые хозяева, в отеле царит теплая домашняя атмосфера. Хотя мы приехали поздно вечером, когда ресторан уже был закрыт, нас накормили вкусными сэндвичами. Хорошие завтраки, очень вкусные ужины. Хозяева выдали гостевую карту, которая дает право бесплатного проезда на общественном транспорте и пользования подъемниками в регионе в течение всего времени пребывания, что экономит достаточно много денег. Некоторые маршруты начинаются прямо от отеля. До других можно быстро добраться на автобусе или поезде. Автобусная остановка в шаговой доступности, железнодорожная станция в 5-7 минутах ходьбы.

Starting from the warm welcome, nice room with balcony for some extra space, the location, decent refreshing walking distance to the local train station so you can leave your car at the hotel and travel conveniently with public transport, and the postal car bus stop to Hoher Kasten is just in front of the hotel. And the food ! The dinner a la carte as well as the breakfast with various choice was just amazing perfect way to relax from a long day hike or start your hiking day. We could recommend this place to everyone visiting the wonderful mountains and nature in Appenzell.

Dans le restaurant il y a une exceptionnelle collection de poivriers. Décor un peu chargé, mais cela donne tout son charme à ce lieu.
