My opinion is that it is far overpriced! The breakfast was ok, but for the price could have been a lot more extensive, more options, egg dishes, fruit.

Reviewed Sep 12, 2026Sehr schön ruhig. Relativ neuer Bau. Zur Abwechslung mal kein Speck oder Wurst zum Frühstück. Dafür tolle Waffeleisen zum selbstbedienen. Gold River ist sehr klein. Der Weg zum Provincial Park aber sehr kurz. Dort gibt es geniale Wanderungen!

Reviewed Aug 15, 2026De hele hotelkamer was super. Heerlijk restaurant met mogelijkheid tot buiten zitten. Ook buiten het restaurant. Is een nieuw hotel met nog delen in aanbouw. Echt een aanrader. Ieder moment koffie en thee vers verkrijgbaar.
Het ligt niet aan een doorgaande weg. Maar meer de binnenlanden in, wel dus met een doel er naar toe gaan. Route is prachtig.

Would like to have real silverware to eat with paper plates is OK but wooden forks and spoons not so nice and you could add some more waffle makers as there’s only two not enough when the lineup this long, also the placement of the waffle makers in the middle of the counter space making it difficult to stand in line to get to the waffle maker

The restaraunt for dinner the night we stayed was a very pleasant surprise - one of the best places we ate at during our trip! The indigenous art throughout the property was also a beautiful touch. We will definitely stay here any time we're in Gold River.
They have a full kitchen (as our dinner the night before demonstrated), so it was disappointing that proper dishes weren't available for breakfast. So much waste in throwing away the dishes, wooden cutlery and everything else.

Breakfast fell short of expectations. In particular I wish they offered whole wheat bread and oatmeal. Some nicer wine options would have been appreciated

Little touch such as lights off in hallway only on when someone walk it lights up , the room doors don't make noise while closing which is great when people are leaving in the morning. The little night light in the bathroom , and refillable shampoo/gel/conditioner bottle are awesome for the environment. Love that there are no carpets in the room.
Real glass in the room versus plastic disposable. Same for the plates and utensils at breakfast . because there are no table or at least in our room, would be nice to have a common room where we can play games , cards etc ...

Reviewed Jun 30, 2026The drive to the resort was Amazing!! The Baymont by Wyndham is an excellent Place to stay. The amenities are very good. The continental breakfast was High quality with very good selection. The restaurant is lovely inside with an outside Patio. It is close to everything in Gold River. The Staff were very friendly! The Gazebo area had an outside Propane fireplace and the Reset also has a wood burning fireplace. The rooms were nicely appointed.
Fridge in our room could Have been bigger.

The air conditioning in the room is very noisy and vibrates the whole room, including the bed, making not possible to sleep while it was on. But opening the widow was good enough to allow cooling fresh air into the room.

Reviewed May 8, 2026The hotel is beautiful. It has an above average breakfast, is in a beautiful area, the rooms themselves are polished and everyone was really friendly. There is a little gift shop with beautiful looking t-shirts. I wish we had more time to look at them as they were super pretty. If you are planning to travel to Nootka trail or any of the nearby hikes, this is a really convenient starting point
While the hotel itself is new and quite beautiful, none of our party of 4 had good sleeps. The beds felt nice when we first got into them but all of us independently felt like we were tossing and turning all night. Part of it was the beds. I think it may have also been all the nightlights throughout the room that ensured it never was that dark. It may have also been partly the air conditioner which was loud and kept turning on and off in both rooms. Whatever the case, we didn't sleep particularly well. Finally, and this is likely a one-off experience, but the hotel staff incorrectly entered our credit card's info multiple times. This led to it being declined and us having to use a different card. We ended up spending a fair bit of time getting in contact with the bank to try to figure out what was wrong with the card before realizing it had just been a user error and the card hadn't been compromised etc.

The dining area was a bit cool temperature and they wouldn’t start the fireplace apparently due to smoke issues. Otherwise I really enjoyed my stay.
