Die Unterkunft liegt sehr ruhig.

Die Sauberkeit war unterirdisch. Ich musste mir erstmal einen Besen und einen Mopp geben lassen, um mein Zimmer ein bisschen hygienisch zu bekommen. Der Wasserhahn der Badewanne tropfte unaufhörlich, an Spiegeln und Fenstern befanden sich überall Fingerabdrücke vieler vorheriger Bewohner, an den Decken überall Spinnenweben und im Garten alte Zigarettenkippen und Kaffeepads, die im Gras rumliegen. Ich bin früher abgereist, umsonst ist diese Unterkunft noch zu teuer.

The location was good and it was nice and quiet.

The fellow working there seemed to be completely alone with everything, you could see he was trying but obviously was overworked…checking us in, cleaning the rooms, stocking the community room/kitchen. The rooms were comfortable, but not thoroughly cleaned and were not updated at all. The beds were clean but didn’t look made like you’d see typically in a hotel.

Hygiëne, niks was schoon. De Host, een oudere meneer deed zijn best om het geheel te managen. Maar dat kreeg hij niet voor elkaar. Droevig dat booking met deze accommodatie zaken doet.

The service was beyond expectations. There's a senior gentleman running the place who works tirelessly to satisfy the guests and is extremely kind.

Location is great. Plenty of parking for boat trailers.

The only positive aspect was that the property refunded my payment after I immediately requested to leave. Other than that, I did not stay because the condition of the room was unacceptable.

Upon entering the room, I found it to be in an unsanitary condition. There was hair and debris on the floor, visible dust throughout the room, bedding and blankets that appeared dirty, and a bathroom that did not appear to have been properly cleaned. The overall condition was so poor that I chose not to bring my luggage into the room. I immediately returned to the front desk, requested a refund, and booked another hotel for the night. I also contacted Booking.com immediately to report the issue. My concern is not the refund—I received it—but rather that the property is being offered as accommodation despite what I considered unacceptable sanitary conditions.

I did not like anything about this place. The pictures do not represent the motel at all, in anyway. It is obvious that at one time it was own by someone professional and who cared.

We were shown rooms with unmade beds and used sheets. Old, dirty & creepy, should not be on Booking.com, we could not stay there, it is a travesty to your name to represent this place. The person at the front desk, it seems is running an electrical repair business in the front lobby. This person had diry feet. He had to inspect the rooms before showing them, at which time he puffed-up the pillows and tried to hide the fact that beds were unmade from the previous guest who maybe had stayed there weeks ago because there was noone in the parking lot, it looked like a ghost town. Everyone or anyone coming to town were staying at the Baymont Wyndham hotel and rightly so.

The room was filfy .my husband lifted the lid for the toilet and it was full of old feeses The floor was dirty. There is a glass table which was very dirty and had bits of old food on it. We should have and wanted to leave but there was only 1 other motel in Gold river. We also should have asked for our money back

The location was good and pretty central. The hotel clerk at the front desk was nice on arrival.

Our room was not clean at all. The walls were dirty. The wood lining around the bed frame was very dirty. The cupboards that held a few items were very dirty. There was a sign up that said if we didn't do our dishes there would be $100 added to your bill. We didn't use any dishes as it was dirty. The fire alarm was taken out of the ceiling. The breakfast room was not clean. There were bagels in the refrigerator and apple juice along with peanut butter and jam.

Shower did not function properly, would not shut off water to the tub and you had to hold the shower lever all the time to get any type of water to the shower head

We end up not staying. The hotel is in super bad condition. Luckily, the manager was super nice and refunded us the money. If you are going to Gold River, do not believe the pictures or this hotel. It looks nothing like it.

My room was a mess, food left in the fridge, clothes in the closet, shampoo & body wash left in the bathroom, the 1 bed looked like it was laid on top of. And after requesting a GROUND unit room for my elderly mom who’s healing from a broken hip, they had us in a 2nd floor unit. I just wasn’t happy with this

Curtain only covered 3/4 of the window. Fridge leaked. Shower matt dirty. Aircon was subpar and couldn’t open the window as there was no bug screen. Specifically emailed the inn to ask if the room had a stove and kettle, was told it did, but it clearly didn’t. Staff incredibly apathetic.

This hotel is such a gem! Clean, well kept rooms, and amazing Indian food next door.

The first room we were given smelled mouldy so we asked for another room. the second room had the heater on full blast so we opened the windows to air it out. We didnt realize until after that the bathroom smelled like sewage. There were extension cords on the floor for the heater and air conditioner. Our cooler leaked water and when we wiped it off the floor, the white towel turned black from how dirty the floor was. There were also stains on the sheets. Last but not least, on the second night a couple of men started banging on our door at 3:30 am and it took a couple minutes out shouting through the door to make them go away. Safe to say we wont be back.

The room was very dirty and the floor in the bathroom was unclean as well. The friends in the room next to us were bit all night by what we think were bed bugs.

Perfect base to enjoy the outdoor activities that the area has to offer.

It is 5 min walk to the entrance of scout lake and other hiking trails. Lots of exploring in the area, the room was a good place to exllore from and a bed at the end of the night. Many items in the room were just held together. The shower sprayed everywhere, had to have a bath instead, but the bathtub needed cleaning first, which i did. The manager charged more for a 3rd night even after I spoke with the owner who was in vancouver. Ended up paying more for my 3rd night than the first 2, in a basically empty hotel. Which bummed me out. The office was still locked at 10:30am because the manager was still sleeping. Next time i'll camp.

The only thing I would complain about was there was only 2 pillows on the bed, so my girlfriend and I had 1 each. They were thin and not enough support, 2 pillows each would have been nice.

What a pleasant surprise! It's an old motel but our room was completely renovated and was sparkling clean.

Beautiful surroundings

We arrived with modest expectations and they were exceeded. The beds and bathrooms were clean and in good order. The manager on duty (Paul) was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. We were two couples travelling together and all of us were really happy with the facilities and service. I would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend it to others.

There was nothing I didn't like. It's not polished like a big city downtown hotel it's a small old motel in a small town at the end of the road. Loved it.

Stayed a few times already its always well maintained & the owner is always around for a chat. Great price like it should.

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They even have a laundry service with a very good machine that gets clothes very clean. They stayed up late to let us in when our boat was delayed on the water!

Such a value find! The room had beautiful view of mountains. The motel albeit being a bit old, was wonderful and clean. The staff were very accommodating. Check-in closes at midnight, but we were unsure if we would arrive by then. I called the place earlier in the evening and informed them about this. They sent us detailed instructions on how to check in ourselves. They also told me to call them anytime if I needed help. Free breakfast was also a nice bonus

If you want cheap and cheerful and don’t care about anything else, this is the place for you. I think the owners have given up.

For the price, this works out very well. Very friendly and accommodating and good communication.

Air conditioner out of order. Lucky we didn't need it. TV not working but an employee did replace the controllers. A complex system to operate. Finally got it going. Cheaper than the Wyndham but would be worth the few a few extra $ to stay there.

The view was nice from outside.

This place was filthy. The bathroom floor was white, but covered in black dirt, especially by the shower. They provided absolutely no soap, there wasn’t even hand soap at the sink. It was a good thing we brought our own, but not even the bare minimum was provided. There was empty margarine containers and some dirty pots in the bedroom for some reason. The bed was very uncomfortable, but at the very least was clean. Overall, not the greatest place to stay, but at least it’s warm and out of the rain while traveling up north. If this place was half or even 2/3 of the price it would be worth it. But we’ve stayed at much nicer places for this price, or even less.

Everything was fine except the people who are livi g there keep odd hours. Living in a motel they eed to be more respectful

The location and rate was great and the breakfast room fare was fine for us.

Missing a few supplies in the room - example: hangers for coats/clothing and a problem with the small refrigerator/freezer but Les, the assistant manager efficiently and quickly took care of it.

The concierge was a great guy! The value was very low. $200 per night in an old and dusty room with dirty towels was not my idea of a romantic birthday present.

Nice and quiet ! There's a small creek at the side of the room and that's the only sounds I could hear , " a gurgling brook " , just perfect !

The manager was really good about changing our room for the second night of our stay because of the problems we were experiencing with the room.

The room that we had for the first night was not great. The floors were dirty and the furniture was dusty. The TV remote didn't work even when the manager tried to fix it. The floor in the bathroom was leaking water between the floor LVT.

Gold River has a super remote location, right in the middle of fantastic mountains. The motel has a mountain movie-like ambience for its setting. Very basic motel, cheap and cheery.

We had a balcony with a view of mountains and trees.

I always enjoy staying at the hotel when i go up.

Bugs

Pretty rough. Linens and furnishings were really old and thrift store quality. Floor was sticky. Breakfast was self serve using shared jam and peanut butter containers and dishes were not clean. Furnishings were sticky. No room service tidying during stay. One room had no soap or shampoo in containers. Stairs are uneven and tripping hazard.

The rooms could use a bit of refreshing, but ours was very clean and everything worked just fine. Very quiet location with flowers and other nice touches that made the place look attractive and well-cared-for. The breakfast room is nicely renovated. Breakfast choices were a bit limited-- I remember muffins, bagels, bread, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, plus coffee and tea-- and the fridge and sink were not very clean. Overall, we would recommend, and would stay here again.
