Location was perfect.
Room was a bit small. Shower was outdated and water pressure was not good.
El restaurante Rare es un must para ir a cenar, comida excelente, fusion de comida hindu y local, sabrosisimo
The friendly staff, the central location, and live music.
No parking and we were in room 9 which was very clean, spacious, and comfortable, but there was a lot of footfall noise overhead from early in the morning.
Breakfast was quite slow arriving on day one and very, very slow on day two (almost an hour). In fairness, the hotel refunded the cost of this breakfast.
The quality of the food in the bar was very average. There are multiple venues within the hotel complex and some were quite noisy.
Consto beneficio : no elevador , no aires acondicionados y no ayuda para subir maletas.

Kinsale. The central location.
Traffic noise.
Grt location. Clean and very comfortable
Centrally located, wonderful restaurants and great staff.
A couple of flights of stairs to our room.
as above
The room was a tiny box in the attic
Location. Staff were excellent and a glass of wine on arrival. Great music in the pub.
We came from Sydney and had lots of bags and no parking nearby was not ideal. The room was small with small ensuite. For the price per night my biggest issue was the uncomfortable bed . So i felt it didnt meet expectations
Breakfast ok
Very poor room in corner no light terrible outlook
Location and staff were excellent.
It's quite tired and needs a good refresh.
Great location, rooms were perfect for a night’s stay. Lovely staff and vibe.
Location clean
It was all good
Excellent Staff, especially Agatta!!!
I liked everything! Tenth stay as your guide.
staff were really pleasant and polite
room no2 located on busy street, window in urgent need of repair or replacement, noise was unacceptable, Receptionist said she'd raise it with the manager however no response 1 week later, just to make the point I never complain, this is my first time

I have stayed twice in two months. On both occasions, the rooms were very small and ‘tired’ and at best, and being generous, I would describe only as ‘adequate’. This, however, is balanced by the hotel’s fantastic location and most of all, by the really wonderful staff.
Location, lovely staff, easy going. great restaurant and bar
The room we stayed in was quite small for 2 people with not enough places to put items.
All ok
270 € and tv not working
The staff! They are all wonderful; Ines at the reception and the staff at the bistro and the breakfast hall. The food is also really good and the location is so convenient, right in the heart of the town.

Where it was located
Very old.fashioned
Location, lovely staff
The room was fairly small.
Location
The price for such a tiny room.
Breakfast was OK...better first morning..
Room v small..awful view from window..didnt even have a chair
Location was good pity there was no onsite parking. Room quite small. Weak shower. Good that there was a fan in the bedroom. We particularly missed having a buffet at breakfast for first course. Food was delicious but far too much of it and we would have taken less if it had been a buffet. As it was we ended up leaving a lot of food which we don't like doing.
see above. Kinsale needs to sort out its traffic situation. Too many cars parked all over the place detracted from the beauty of the town.
Room was big, but it was expensive. Very well kitted out with lots of mod cons and toys.. air fan was a big hit with the American cousin! Breakfast was very nice, although it was very slow to land out, but worth the wait. Bar nice, good atmosphere, staff knew their stuff, cocktails etc... Staff on Reception were lovely good banter and very helpful.
It was pricey for 1 night. Brekkie was slow, but when it came it was nice.
Although the location is on the main street this is a VERY tired hotel. Travelers should note that there is no lift so you will be carrying bags up several flights of stairs (which were being painted when we were there). Although bedding and towels were clean, the carpet, window etc. were filthy and furniture very worn.
Schönes Hotel mit leckerem Esser. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und sauber. Sehr zu empfehlen.
This was my second stay at Blue Haven and it lived up to my previous experience. Consistently high-quality food, comfortable accommodation, and friendly service. It’s become my preferred place to stay whenever I’m in Kinsale.
L’emplacement.
Location. Nicely appointed rooms.
Stayed here with family and had a fantastic experience. The staff were welcoming and accommodating, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The restaurant served delicious meals that everyone enjoyed, which is not always easy with a family group.
I got the burger & chips, burger was soggy & not cooked ,i couldn't eat it ,chips were hard in the centre,my partner got fish & chips fish tasted awful again his chips were hard , very disappointed as we normally to to jim Edwards thought we would try blue haven for a change ,we will not return
Pokoj krásný čistý , super lokalita a úžasný personál. Skvěle snídaně
Pro dva trochu menší postel a velmi měkká matrace , pokoj je hůře větratelný , ale na pokoji mají čističku vzduchu značky Dyson , takže chválím !!!!
We spent a weekend in Kinsale and couldn’t have picked a better location. Everything was within walking distance, and Blue Haven had a lovely atmosphere throughout. The food was outstanding, especially the seafood dishes. We’d happily return.
Reception staff were great
Breakfast staff poor non attentive
Excellent location, fabulous food and the best customer service, in every department, that I’ve had in ages. Isla at front desk was super and the restaurant staff were wonderful. Housekeeping staff also so friendly and helpful.
For the money, the bedroom was really, really ‘tired’. And small! Mould (black)on the ceiling of the shower, water leaks out of shower, light over bathroom mirror not working… the room definitely let the hotel down.
The food at Blue Haven was the highlight of our stay. Every meal felt carefully prepared, with fresh local ingredients and plenty of flavour. Breakfast was excellent and dinner exceeded expectations. The hotel itself was comfortable and well maintained, but the restaurant Rare alone is worth a visit.
Great location, nice staff & excellent breakfast.
Room was facing onto street and lots of noise until about 2am (Fri eve). Then at 7am was work men making loads of noise for about an hour or so with a truck. Poor nights sleep despite being in bed at midnight. Painting being done in the hallways in the middle of June!! Could this not have been done all winter!!
Lovely hotel in the centre of the town. We stayed at The Blue Haven Hotel for 2 nights. What can I say ….. the staff were superb. We were very welcomed by the reception team on arrival. We dined in the Bar on the first night as their fine dining restaurant Rare was closed on a Monday. The food was delicious. To top off the night they had live music & the two guys playing were very good. The breakfast team in the morning were very friendly and got time to speak with all the guests. The hotel was under refurbishment which all looks very exciting. While we didn’t get the chance to dine in Rare on this occasion we will most definitely be back over the summer to The Blue Haven Hotel their fabulous hospitality again. 5 stars all round we will be back
Great Staff - Arrived late that staff were so helpful - even kept the kitchen open so that I could get something to eat - Everyone went out of their way to help - real hospitality!!
Nothing, everything was perfect
Centrally located, good food & excellent service. a special mention Donna who did a great job of looking after us and could not have been more friendly and helpful
Size and view
My husband & I have been driving around Ireland & staying at 4 star hotels along the way, which were all booked in January 26. We left the 4 star Victoria hotel in Killarney( absolutely fabulous) before arriving at The Blue Haven, supposedly 4 star, in Kinsale. What a huge disappointment it was. I had booked a Double room, which was barely adequate in size. The bathroom was tiny, with insufficient storage for your bathroom products. The toilet seat had a broken hinge, there were stains on the carpet which was worn and the upholstered chair had a large stain on the seat, see the photos ….. this hotel is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel like the others we experienced. . And I’ve never had to pay the total cost at the beginning of our stay. Even more annoying was our 2 night stay had 2 different charges….. €213 the first night & then a more than 50% increase for the second night, at €323 !! Honestly, at €323 for the night you expect better quality accommodation. Same room, same everything….. that did not happen in any other hotel we stayed at during our 2 week trip. The hotel rates are exorbitant for what we got. We had stayed at other places with similar rates that were far superior. This hotel should reduce its rates while it is in such a poor condition. It is in serious need of an upgrade and I would not stay there again or recommend it. Such a pity to end our journey in Ireland here.
Shocking ! We had booked 6 months in advance from Australia. 2 Double rooms were booked and the Blue Haven confirmed by email. We arrived to find one room was a single room no 21. The stairway carpets were filthy and stained the landing and hallway smelt damp and musty. The Room was the size of a shoe box the shower one could hardly step into. The bed was 4ft wide!!! The grey carpet was heavily stained and rucked up with wear and tear! When we complained to the lady Manager she did after a longish conversation, move us to Room 9. The room had filthy carpet again rucked and stained. The windows in the place are filthy. The outside window sill in Room 9 was disgusting and the roof top outside the window was covered in pigeon poo!! Horrid!!! We were woken at 5.30 with the awful smell of bacon cooking. At €213 for the first night and an exorbitant €323 for the second night - a complete rip off. Stay away from this awful 4* RIP OFF . Breakfast obviously cooked hours before and not cooked to order. A very very sad end to a wonderful trip to Ireland where we stayed in wonderful real 4* hotels. I wouldn’t recommend The Blue Haven to my worst enemy! Stay away
Great location in centre of Kinsale - amazing food- we ate in rare restaurant - music in bar was an added bonus
doubke charged
I hmcalled to reception 3 timrs to attempt to resolve doublencm charge & they woulf not deal with it. I am now chsrging bsck the card
The Blue Haven Hotel puts you right in the heart of Kinsale, and for exploring one of Ireland's most beloved coastal towns, the location is hard to fault. Everything is on your doorstep... the harbour, the restaurants, the winding streets. As a base, it works beautifully. That said, being in the thick of it comes with trade-offs worth knowing about before you book. Rooms on the street side can be on the noisy side. Kinsale is a lively town, and between the traffic and the live music drifting up from below, light sleepers may want to request a quieter room or pack earplugs. The windows offer limited sound insulation, so this is worth bearing in mind. We also visited during a heatwave, and the rooms ran quite warm... not the hotel's fault exactly, but ventilation is something to factor in during summer visits. Where the Blue Haven genuinely shines is at breakfast. The spread is excellent and the morning staff are warm, attentive, and a real pleasure to deal with... the kind of start to the day that sets a good mood. We also caught the Tuesday night trad session, which was brilliant. It drew a big, lively crowd and had exactly the atmosphere you hope for in Ireland. Don't miss it if you're there mid-week. Overall, the Blue Haven is a comfortable and characterful hotel in a prime spot. Our one reservation is value: at the price point, you're paying a premium for the location and the name, and a few of the practical comfort details don't quite match up. Not a dealbreaker, but worth factoring into your expectations. A good base... just go in with eyes open.
A real gem of Ireland, staff so friendly and couldn’t do enough for me, definitely will be returning 🙏
Great staff; very helpful courteous and friendly. Location also great. Musician was excellent.
Our room was stifling hot making it difficult to sleep. The hotel us also worn. Carpets are stained and worn, chair in our room was stained and worn and mattresses were old and uncomfortable. I could feel the coils when I laid down. Basically it needs an update. That said it was clean - bathroom fixtures and floor were clean.
All of the above - very good to excellent and staff very helpful and friendly. I only had breakfast on this occasion but it was very good.
Angle lamps in bedroom were a bit awkward beside the bed -perhaps they are too big? Small complaint.
Very small noisey room...no 4.....Rip off price of 486 euro for 2 nights B and B for 2 adults
Staff 10 out of 10. Locations great. Music in the evening.
Unfortunately bedroom was very small but staff were great and moved me
Lovely staff in the bar/restaurant area
Was allocated a room on the top floor so lots of steps to be taken into account and had to carry luggage to the room.In the corridor going to the room there was a strong damp smell. In the bathroom the shower was not clean there was a lot of pink gunk in the shower tray and grout. The window in the bedroom wouldn't close and the outside gutters could do with emptying as when it rained it was overflowing and splashing onto the window waking me up throughout the night.Breakfast could do with upgrading for the price, maybe offer a breakfast buffet area along with ordering hot food
Enjoyed a morning of laughter with our host Nicole, she keep moving yet found time to engage with all the clientele… a young lad wearing a polo shirt arrived and seemed very relaxed did our coffee but when it came finally was nice and warm happy days
The hotel is overall quite nice and in a perfectly central location. The staff was also very friendly
It was very loud at night, bathroom door did not completely close and breakfast is a la carte only, no buffet
The hotel itself is nice and very well located.
The mattresses were not very comfortable and the shower in the bathroom was very poor. The water pressure was very low and the temperature varied from freezing to boiling - very difficult to use.
We loved our weekend stay here in the Blue Haven. There is a no fuss atmosphere and the location is perfect in the heart of Kinsale. The breakfast was the highlight and by the end of it Donna knew everyone's name which made it extra special. Our kids had a ball and there was always a bit of live music in the bar.
Excellent breakfast! Excellent Trad music in the evening! Nicely decorated and great location in town!
nothing
This hotel is in the best location, close to everything. I'm looking forward to going back and exploring Kinsale. This is a treasure, a true treasure.
Nothing
The staff was so kind. Great pub and food. Family always felt welcomed.
The pillows are so flat.
We ate in the hotel restaurant both nights. The braised beef was delicious. Other options looked pretty good too but not as good as beef. The lady serving - I think her name was Martha, she was from Slovakia but living there a few years - was a really good host. Funny, friendly, and patient with our large family. Entertainment in the bar on Saturday night was brilliant.
It’s a boutique style hotel and could do with a little upgrading in places Eg carpets, bathroom door didn’t shut properly, my sisters shower was poor. But overall we enjoyed our stay
En plein centre du village , très bien situé. Personnel charmant et propose de la musique tout les soirs au restaurant de l'hôtel.
Ok firstly , no elevator so my elderly wife with a cane had to constantly struggle her way up and down the stairs . Second the main desk staff was extremely rude to us , thirdly we had to demand that our room be cleaned because nobody seemed bothered to do so , food downstairs was overpriced, poor quality and small and made me feel sick Fourthly , our rooms had no functioning air conditioning so we were roasting , Fifth we were on the second floor and could still hear the loud music coming from the bar downstairs making us get 0 sleep for the entirety of our stay Six , we were promised a decent sized room only to get shoved into a shoebox with a broken and loud toilet
We had such a wonderful time at the Blue Haven Hotel in late March! The room was so comfortable and spacious, just what we needed. What really made our stay special and elevated it to 5-star status was Monica, the concierge. She was so welcoming, helpful, and always had a smile on her face. Thank you, Monica, for making us feel so welcome.
380 euro for one night and no breakfast is outrageous
The property needs a serious upgrade - in particular the accommodation side. The Breakfast Menu looks good on paper but the delivered product was not great. The eggs and sausages were clearly overcooked and/or left under heated lights for a long time. I can't say for certain, but it did not appear to be "cooked to order" No Cereal choice on the Menu and when requested, only Cornflakes and Rice Crispies were available. Had to wait for the cereal to be served, which was immediately followed by the cooked breakfast - all squeezed on to the table leaving little space for anything else and ensuring the cooked breakfast had cooled before being consumed. Overall, a very poor Breakfast service for a 4* Star Hotel. We had spent the previous night at it's sister hotel, The Schull Harbour Hotel. The Schull Hotel was far superior in terms of Accommodation and Breakfast. There was a full self-serve range of Cereals, Fruit & Yogurt etc. on offer - with friendly and efficient service. The Blue Haven should strive to achieve the good standards set by its sister Hotel in Schull.
This hotel needs to be painted and the rooms need a revamp
Great location in centre of town. Room was good but had extension leads for Tv and hairdryer in room. The shower was far too narrow because of rail . And mixer taps were a bit “vintage “ . Sth room needs updating. Bar food for lunch was good. But main dining room was closed the night we had dinner . Do dinner had to be in the bar too. Staff were superb and great service. I would return if room was updated with walk-in shower.
The hotel staff are friendly, courteous, the hotel is clean and has a really nice ambiance. The live music in the Bar was superb too. There was a little discrpancy about whether breakfast was included or not but this was sorted really quickly too.
The bed was too soft for my liking so didn't sleep as well as I hoped and for two of the days the Breakfast was warm but not piping hot and took ages to arrive.
The location, Hotel, staff and room were lovely.
water pressure and shower were really poor
Location. Breakfast and staff very good.
Very small room. Awful view from my window.
Location
No one available after 9p and not before we left at 7a. The door was left open so anyone could walk into the hotel. The TV didn’t have any channels to watch other than streaming services and we didn’t feel comfortable using our own accounts. We did enjoy the location, as it was close to many amenities and the town centre.
Alles war super !
