An einer vielbefahrenen Straße gelegen Das Hotel ist sehr hellhörig. Nachbar hörbar, sowohl auch die Straße Frühstück in einem anderen Haus als die Zimmer. Kein Buffet und kein frisches Obst.

The property was situated at the side of the pub/restaurant. There was plenty of parking and room was clean, comfortable bed and wet room with great shower. Staff were Polite, Professional & Friendly. We had the pleasure of meeting Joe the owner who was a Lovely Man and very accommodating. The food was delicious. Full cooked breakfast included and a daily carvary was available at additional cost. We would highly recommend The Merry Monk and will definitely be booking when we visit our Family in Ballina next year :)

The shower comes on boiling hot and cannot be adjusted, it burned my skin. It's a half hour walk from town.

Das Pub nebenan ist sehr praktisch. Die Zimmer sind ruhig im Nebenhaus. Frühstück sehr lecker.

Das Badezimmer ohne Ablagen. Etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Nicht ganz sauber. Nur eine Duschtemperatur.

The pub next door was about the only thing that was ok and breakfast was good with free parking close to the building.

On arrival the staff paid little attention to the privacy of paper work and left it laying on a bench top in the communal area. There is no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms themselves only in the shared area. The shared communal facilities was not advertised and was not cleaned or maintained at the time we were there. The lights in the bathroom were on sensors so stayed on for a long time and there was a window above the bathroom door shining the light in to the bed area. The shower was automated so no way to change the heat setting and you have to keep pressing a button to keep it going during your shower. The bathroom reminded us of a wet area for the elderly. There was no on site management which meant there were people smoking or vaping in the hallway and talking loudly until about 3 o'clock in the morning, so we didn't get any sleep

It’s cosy and detached from the main pub (which is also well-appointed), walkable to Ballina if you’re able for it, otherwise a convenient jaunt into the town. The breakfast is affordable and tasty if you’re not staying there, but is included and tasty if you are.

My room, number 1 (which was otherwise Very comfortable and relaxing to stay in), did face the smaller parking area abutting the lodging - though I parked in the ample parking out front (they will helpfully take down your plate number for some safeguarding of your vehicle while you stay there - and there are Large windows with Large shades to match, but be careful not to accidentally give the neighbourhood a show if you’re in that room.

Room separate to bar and restaurant with all facilities. Good meals and excellent breakfast!!

Unfortunately one of our group accidentally broke a plain tall glass vase. The response by the Manager’s father was most unpleasant and unreasonable. He explained that the vase had considerable sentimental value and felt 500 euros would be acceptable. After some tense discussion he agreed to a voluntary contribution to a charity. This last experience, coming after a delightful stay, left us feeling deeply upset.

The rooms were in a separate building so nice and peaceful

The tiled floor in the room was a bit clinical and very slippery with damp feet after a shower. A rug or two would make it cosier and safer.

The staff were really friendly. The food was top notch. The location for us, with our time spent at Belleek Castle was perfect (9 euro taxi) Breakfast set us up perfectly for each day

A noisy group booked in on our last night and as uts a shared kitchen/Dinning room that was annoying. That's not the Merry Monks fault though.

Chambres dans une annexe du restaurant type Motel, sans aucun charme et beaucoup trop chères par rapport à nos autres hébergements. Chambres très basiques, sans place pour les valises, ni pour les vêtements à suspendre (quelques cintres...). Le pire : la salle de bains, avec douche à même le sol sans bac récepteur, ni pare-douche ni rideau ... le WC juste à côté donc avec les pieds dans l'eau après une douche, un petit lave mains sans rien pour poser les trousses de toilette... Petit déjeuner très quelconque, sans produits frais ou faits maison

Voor overnachting moet je daar niet zijn, wij kregen het zolderkamertje, met nadruk op tje. Vind het niet erg als het klein is maar dit was veeel te klein. Kon je koffer en spullen niet kwijt, geen stoel, geen tafeltje. Raam kon maar 5cm open en het was al warm. Licht in de badkamer en op de gang bleven continue branden en dat scheen naar binnen in de kamer. Heel gehorig, konden buren letterlijk verstaan. We hadden 2 nachten geboekt maar zijn eerder vertrokken, nooit meer.

Das Licht im Bad hat einen Bewegungsmelder, kann also nicht eigenständig ausgeschaltet werden - störend in der Nacht. Das Frühstück wird aus einem Menü ausgewählt, könnte aber mit z.B. etwas Obst oder Jogurt aufgewertet werden.

The hotel worked for our visit, the location allowed us to visit friends and family, The restaurant was good, especially the Sunday roast. If we were a group travelling together it might have worked well.

The layout of the accommodation block would suit a group of people visiting, but the communal nature meant we lacked privacy. The facilities were ok, but basic. Some tea/coffee making in the room would be better.

The rooms were a good size with a nice shower room and a shared open plan kitchen/dining room/lounge. The staff were amazing and very friendly, providing us with great meals. Ideal location with plenty of parking and very handy having the Merry Monk restaurant on the same site. Would definitely recommend.

Lovely setting close to town. Breakfast was included and was delicious.

The bathroom pipe make a loud rattling noise every time the toilet is flushed or shower turned on. It made it very difficult to sleep as there are 9 rooms which were all in use and people using the bathroom continuously. I had to purchase ear plugs to be able to sleep through the night.

Das Zimmer 1 lag direkt neben dem Eingang und des Gemeinschaftsraums. Auf Grund mangelnder Geräuschdämmung hatte man den Eindruck, dass alles von draußen im eigenen Zimmer stattfindet. Das Zimmer konnte mit Rollos zwar gegen Blicke von außen geschützt werden, jedoch verblieben 'Sichtschlitze'. Die Dusche war ohne Kabine/Vorhang, so war es unmöglich dass das Wasser nicht überall war. Wirklich wohl gefühlt haben wir uns nicht.

Es gibt einen Pub mit Live Musik

Das Zimmer ist winzig und das Bett ist wirklich furchtbar und klein. Das Badzimmer wird beim Duschen geflutet und man kann die Temperatur der Dusche nicht einstellen. Es gibt nur einen An und Aus Knopf. Zusätzlich war es sehr laut durch die anderen Gäste. Wir hatten auch ein lautes Pfeifen im Raum, dass immer auftrat wenn jemand warmes Wasser im Haus benutzt. Ich verstehe die ganzen guten Bewertungen überhaupt nicht. Vor allem bei dem Preis. Zusätzlich war das Personal abends kurz angebunden und so richtig erklärt wurde nichts. Das Frühstück war okay.
