Reviewed Aug 31, 2026The kitchen closes quite early at 09.00 Pm. Despite multiple requests, the staff was not ready to arrange any real food, and provided packet of bread. The staff didnt communicate well before arrival. Breakfast also starts by only 08.00 Am, which is quite late in my opinion.

Dinner was not as expected. Choices were limited and fish tawa grill was super spicy

We are misinformed that the location can be easily driven with your car although notified that the road is bumpy. It is not only just bumpy but dead scary. Once you presume that you will make it and change your mind there is no going back, meaning the road is narrow, just one vehicle fit in, and edges are steep. We had to encounter a jeep coming from other side, We were really on the edge of the cliff to allow other vehicle pass. All our hearts were thumping till we reached the place. So if your are soft hearted or plan to visit with kids, please look some convenient place.

Approach to resort was a risky driving of 2.5 kms, like an off roading in 4W drive. Quite an experience tough. Hotel can arrange a free pickup from main road for people with low appetite for an adventure.

Reviewed Jan 3, 2026Nice and quiet. The stream nearby is quite meditative during the morning stroll. Lots of places to sit quietly. Outdoor and indoor games available. The gardens are well maintained. Kids would like to run around and play. Professional staff. Well maintained hygiene. Rooms are tidy. Food is traditional along with other options, cooked with utmost care I felt. Except for the road to reach to the resort. The road needs maintanance high time. Perhaps there are jeeps from down to take us up to the resort, but we came in our own vehicle. Apart from that, I felt Abad is a wonderful place to stay.

Reviewed Jan 2, 2026During our holidays, we were looking to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Abad Brookside turned out to be an ideal choice, the eco resort was well maintained with ample places for our 4 yr old twins to enjoy, keep them busy with exploring nature and games. We stayed at a brookside cottage - kids absolutely loved going into the water, get themselves clicked and play with the fish. As the resort is close to may tourist attractions in Vythiri, we loved the fact that Jeep was available to move in, out of the hills (where the property is situated) and get picked (when needed) at short notice.
During our long stay we would have liked more North Indian food choices in the menu. We were pleased by the fact that the chef went out of the way to make aloo parathas just for us. Also we liked that our suggestion of offering complimentary evening tea with cookies was acted upon.

Food options are limited and tasted almost similar. Given that the resort is in the middle of the forest and away from any other food delivery options. The facilities show signs of ageing and could be maintained better.

The approach road is bumpy through the forest for around 2kms. Folks with back issues could have a slight problem so better to be prepared and plan accordingly.

Reviewed Sep 17, 2025Location and staff. Please be aware that getting in and out of property takes time . But location is worth the pain. Staff and especially managers in front desk and fnb were outstanding gentlemen.
The cottages were very basic infrastructure. Fans were slow and unable to provide fresh air. No airconditioning in a brookside property can be too humid to handle.. fans are not sufficient .

Road to the resort very bad due to heavy rain it was slippery and muddy. Its an offroading route for 2.5 kms.
