Every aspect of my stay was exceptional! The entire staff is committed to guests' needs and comfort. The owner is present to greet guests as they check-in and check-out and is present during days and evenings. The food is excellent and the brunch buffet, that's included, is robust and delicious. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and the entire facility is very clean and attractive. Did I mention the view? Amazing!.The terrace for dining (and many rooms) overlooks HH The Dalai Lama's temple and residence and lower Dharamsala. There is plenty of space to meditate and enjoy. Thank you for a most magical stay. Hotel Norbu House feels like a home away from home.
Nothing comes to mind.
The owners were so accommodating and hospitable. Staff were fantastic. Room is wonderful, balcony and view is incredible. Bathroom is nice and spacious shower. Nice toiletries. Bed is big and comfy, tv and kettle. Very clean. Breakfast was also great
I couldn’t stay longer
Thank you the managment for such a fair treatment.
Milý a vstřícný personál, skvělá lokalita, zastřešená terasa, klidné a mírumilovné místo

Great location, beautiful property and setting. The food was excellent and the staff very friendly and helpful.
Nothing!
The best hotel in norbu. The best staff. The best location. You won’t regret
The rooms and scenery in front of the rooms were great. Breakfast was splendid.
No non veg
Family-run, staff responds promptly to any request and responds quickly. Clean, tidy hotel, excellent restaurant. Highly recommended hotel
The room, the food, the staff, the view, the breakfast, the cheesecake in the breKfast
Nothing to complain really
Facility, view from the hotel, staffs were very friendly.
They need to work on indian main course.
Breakfast was excellent. Variety of north and South Indian dishes like idly, parotta, eggs were there . Dishes were tasty and staff were friendly
One day while going down for breakfast struck in the lift for almost ten minutes. Lift was off for couple of days and we had to climb almost 4 floors for our room and when the day we were vacating lift started working. Since only one lift was there they should have regular maintenance.
Location is close to town center and the temples. Quiet at night
You will need to go down steep hills and then back up to reach the hotel. Staff will assist you if they see you, but it may not be convenient for travelers with luggage. The room is basic but clean enough.
The location 📍 and the view 🌅
Idealne miejsce - w centrum, ale w cichej okolicy, z pięknym wspólnym tarasem z widokiem. W pokoju miłe dodatki jak codzienna woda, ciasteczka i inne. Pokoje duże i urządzone w tradycji tybetańskiej. Miejsce przygotowane z sercem i dbałością. Co więcej, nawet kuchnia była pyszna!
Staffs are nice and friendly. They keep the place really nice and make you feel comfortable during stayed. Food also good.
A little smell but that is normal in India.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Norbu House during a visit to McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala — a trip that combined professional meetings with colleagues and the rare privilege of attending a blessing ceremony by His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I cannot recommend this property highly enough. Location is everything. Norbu House sits just steps from the Dalai Lama compound, which made attending the blessing ceremony effortless and stress-free. For anyone visiting McLeod Ganj for spiritual, cultural, or professional reasons connected to the Tibetan community, the proximity alone is worth the booking. Trusted and deeply rooted in the community. What sets Norbu House apart from other accommodations in the area is that it is operated by long-time residents of McLeod Ganj who are genuinely well-known and deeply trusted within the local Tibetan community. This isn't just a guesthouse — it's a reflection of the warmth, integrity, and hospitality that defines this remarkable town. Security and discretion you can count on. It's worth noting that Norbu House regularly hosts international delegations visiting Dharamsala, which speaks volumes about the level of professionalism and security maintained on the property. Guests can feel at ease knowing that confidentiality, safety, and a respectful environment are taken seriously here. Breathtaking views. The suite offered stunning panoramic views that are simply unforgettable — the kind of scenery that reminds you why McLeod Ganj draws visitors from around the world. Waking up each morning to those vistas was a highlight of the entire trip. Outstanding value. When you factor in the prime location, the trustworthiness of the hosts, the security of the property, and the quality and comfort of the accommodations, Norbu House represents exceptional value for money. You are not just paying for a room — you are investing in an experience grounded in authenticity and care. Highly recommended to anyone visiting McLeod...
Friendly helpful staff The extras like complimentary chocolate in the fridge The view from the terrace Cleanliness

The staff at Hotel Norbu were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast and the great cappuccinos!
Beautiful view. Clean and nice room. Helpful staff.
Beautiful rooms with exceptional views. A good breakfast and range of light meals. Thoughtful, considerate staff, who went out of their way to ensure we had a good stay.
It rained! Unfortunately there wasn’t a lot that could be done about that!
View Good breakfast (comparing other 4 stars hotel) Hotel very close to city center
Very hard entrance with a car (for baggage drop off or pickup. Manager tried to overcharge (free water or tried to add 3% for card payment insyead of cash).
Clean and efficient. It did the job nicely.
Window view was a green metal roof. We're were only there one night so it didn't really matter.
Great hotel in a great location. The owner is very nice and friendly and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. It was a great hotel stay and I would highly recommend.
The walk to the hotel is a bit steep for some people but it's a small inconvenience.
The hotel is very clean and well maintained. The owner and staff are extremely friendly, patient, and always willing to help. The scenery view from my room was absolutely beautiful and made my stay even more special.
Kindness of the owners. Tranquility views
All good
I got an upgrade for my room and absolutely loved it! I was a solo traveler but I felt very safe. The staff and hotel owner are friendly and very polite..They catered to all my needs without any issue and ensured that I am comfortable.
Excellent view, staff and owner, upgrade my room,8:00am check in....... great 👍

Excelente !!
I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Norbu in early January and couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. The service was exceptional from start to finish - friendly, attentive and the staff was always willing to help. The decor of the rooms and hotel was thoughtfully designed with Tibetan style throughout. The room was very comfortable, clean and beautifully designed making it easy to relax and enjoy the spectacular view from our balcony. The on-site restaurant provided delicous food and the breakfast buffet was a highlight. Overall, Hotel Norbu exceeded my expectations and I would gladly stay here again and recommend it to others. Special thanks to the outstanding staff and owners.
nothing
The hotel has a wonderful terrace with views over the mountains. Just sitting here every morning in the sun, was a wonderful experience. Very peaceful location.
Everything wonderful including food, lodging, very kind staff and owners
Liked everything!
The people running the hotel were very kind. The room was nice and big, and they provide free snacks (!). The internet was fantastic, and the bed very comfortable. Room was cleaned very well every day, and breakfast was outstanding with a delicious buffet including fruits, cereals, bread, idli, paratha, cakes, bao buns, juices, lassi and so much more. Even peanut buffer and pancakes! The hotel was very close to the entrance of the Dalai Lama temple. The personnel was extremely kind: when I shifted from Yewang Hotel (which they also own) to Norbu House, they moved my luggage to my room while I was away for the day. They were also very kind when I broke my elbow on a trek.
nothing really.
A beautiful stay, thank you. Great location, helpful staff, clean and comfortable accommodation with stunning views. The breakfast was exceptional. Thank you for having me, I will certainly be staying here again.
I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was exceptionally friendly and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile. The room was spotless, very clean and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The food was excellent—delicious and well-prepared—and the view from the hotel was simply stunning.
The lovely view, friendly ambiance with a homely feel .
Norbu House was hands down the highlight of my trip, maybe even the best stay I’ve ever had. The views are incredible, the staff are so kind, and there’s just a peaceful, welcoming vibe that makes you feel instantly at home. Can’t recommend it enough—I’ll definitely be back!
The beautiful terrace can get a bit loud during the evenings but it didn’t take away the magic of my stay :)
Very friendly and helpful staff Great view
We loved everything about this hotel. As people have said, the view, big comfortable rooms, very clean, the great food, the kindness of the lovely family who own the hotel & the exceptional staff We were ‘stuck’ an extra 3 nights after our flight was cancelled due to severe weather. They could not have been more helpful in accommodating us & I could not think of a better place I would wish to be stuck in We were also provided a fantastic driver for our stay by the hotel & he took care of our every whim for a price we were more than happy to pay
Could not fault a thing
A delightful hotel in McLeod Ganj. Very clean, good amenities, fabulous view and friendly staff! Fantastic breakfast selection as well. Would recommend this hotel.
Nothing! Everything was wonderful
An amazing hotel set back from the noise of the road. The views from the balcony and breakfast terrace were stunning. You can catch sunset and sunrise. The buffet breakfast was great. The thing that made this place exceptional was the friendly team. They couldn’t have done anymore.
Nothing
Lovely staff, friendly and welcoming. They remembered my name and actually made me feel quite special without going over the top. Wonderful views of Dharamsala and the mountains. Great shower after a month of cold showers in other guest houses. Great breakfast and good coffee
It is a cozy hotel with a spectacular valley view and hearing the chanting from the monasteries nearby. It was an amazing spiritual experience. I especially enjoyed a lot chatting with the staff and hotel owner about the Tibetan story in the courtyard, I felt warm and connected like home. Sometimes it was fun to see the monkeys jumping around.
Nothing
The view is beautiful from the room. The staff are very helpful.
Everything was good
Great hotel in a great location. Lovely breakfast terrace and very good staff.
Fantastic location Superb staff very friendly and caring
Was perfect
Spotlessly Clean hotel. It’s very close to the market square yet it’s tucked away in a corner and is away from the hustle bustle of the crowd. The staff are extremely professional, warm, proactive. If I requested anything they would address it immediately. Never had to ask them again. The rooms are so clean, the beds very comfortable and the coffee at breakfast was super! The owner is very hands on at the property, very interested in the well being of his guests. I highly recommend this place! It’s usually sold out so book well in time. They have a new hotel close by so one can get rooms there also! The gentleman at the front desk was extremely nice, gave us some good advice on shopping etc. very polite staff! Thanks! We will be back!
The curtains in the room very blinds which were bit opaque. I am a light sleeper so was concerned about it! The minute I raised the concerns the staff came to the room and addressed it! I had a restful sleep!
Amazing location. Helpful staff. Great choice at breakfast including alternative milks, which are very hard to find in other hotels in India. Brilliant location.
Stay at Norbu house was very good. We had upper terrace room with views into Dharamsala valley. Perhaps it is one of best properties in Mclo.
Tenzin is the best!
Great hotel! We stayed for 5 nights and had a great experience. We had a beautiful view from the room and there is also a lovely big balcony in the breakfast area. Location is great for getting around. Staff was very kind and very helpful
Excellent Hospitality!!
Norbu House gives you a luxurious experience and stay in the bustling town of McLeod. The place is glistening clean, it’s quiet and very comfortable, the food is delicious and the staff is extremely nice and helpful.
We liked everything!
Owners gives personal attentions to all details to ensure guests are taken care well and return with best of memories
Entire offerings by the hotel, it speaks about their commitment
I loved staying here. The location is great in McLeod Ganj, close to everything to walk but in a very quiet area. 3 min walk to the Dalai Lama temple. The staff are extremely friendly and the rooms are great. The bed is very comfortable, tea/coffee and kettle in the room, a fridge, snacks and water. The room was clean and a beautiful balcony overlooking Dharamsala. The buffet breakfast in the morning is excellent and the sitting area has a beautiful view. The staff will help you out with anything you need.
I would have stayed here the whole time if it was cheaper.
Good location and friendly staff
The hotel entrance is hard to find
Location nice view
Rooms were not very clean and not well maintained, the wall was falling off, there was not enough food for all the guests at the breakfast
The value for money. Very kind reception staff, which I haven't experienced in any of the 5* resorts in India, and beyond. Value for money, nice big bathroom and comfortable beds. Views from our room and outside area were great. Fresh cakes for breakfast and great cappuccino. 5 minutes walk from the "Dalai Lama" temple.
Nothing. Everything was great considering the price
The breakfast is good and coffee is very delicious with professional level. Very joyful stay in the hotel.
If there is a spot we can take photos for snow mountains it would be perfect!
Excellent view and very helpful staff. Comfortable beds
My experience in staying Norbu House is quite ecstatic. We booked two suites Yewang suite and Norbu suite for four adults in a family. Although we travelled in a very popular time period (Holi break), I was happy to find the property to be absolutely peaceful. We particularly liked the corner suite (most probably Norbu suite) for the outstanding view. The point of absolute excitation was to get a great view of His Holiness the Dalai Lama residence and the temple. I could carry out my meditation in the morning with the gentle fresh wind from the white mountains and watching the temple of His Holiness all the time. I also wish to mention that the temple is just connected with the Hotel through a very short road and we are grateful to Tenzinji for his kind help as soon as we approached him.
Well, the only point where we had a little issue was that the Hotel served mostly vegetarian foods. As we are basically non-vegetarian, it would have helped to have some non-veg in the menu. However, we were completely aware beforehand about the food and hence no complain. There could be a few more Tibetan menu in the breakfast to make it more exciting.
Norbu House is situated on a rare quiet road in McLeod Ganj, so provides a relief from the traffic (and incessant horn blowing of Indian drivers). It has amazing views down over the Dalai Lama's Temple and his private residence - the terrace is a fabulous place to eat breakfast in the morning sun. The breakfast buffet is simple, with a couple of Indian dishes, plus western staples like toast, eggs (cooked to order) and there are also 2 fresh backed cakes.. plus excellent cappucino with no additional charge. The MoMos with cottage cheese I ordered one eve are delicious. The hotel is family owned and very welcoming - the owners daughter was particularly warm and friendly, with better English than mine :)
The only thing I didn't like was the cold shower on the first morning as I didn't realise the heater needed switching on - no big deal, certainly woke me up.
