Reviewed May 19, 2026The staff were lovely and the breakfast great. The room was comfortable, clean and warm which was all we needed for a single overnight. The restaurant is permanently closed (except for breakfast) so we are at the golf club's Deck Restaurant and the food was good - though the seating was outside a d it was a 'bit chilly'!
The town of Kathu itself was built for the iron ore mine so we didn't expect much and our expectations were realised!

Reviewed May 7, 2026The bed was so old and worn we both landed up sleeping in the middle on top.of each other. The door to.our room was extremely difficult to open. The bathroom door did not close. No maintenance.. Our neighbors played the TV so loud until 2am but I couldn't go out as I struggled to open the door. Nightmare night.

The staff was really nice and considered all my wishes for breakfast, preparing a small breakfast package to eat in the room or take with me. It was delivered to my room within one hour. The rooms are nicely equipped, the air conditioning works very well, and the bathroom is very modern and clean.
Located on a main road with more of a motel vibe. Can be a bit noisy, but not too bad. It was designed primarily for car access, which makes sense in Kathu. As a backpacker, I am probably more of an exception.
