Merci à la dame qui nous a accueilli ! Elle était d’une extrême gentillesse et a répondu à toutes nos questions ! Nous sommes restés une semaine et nous avons demandé à ce qu’on lave notre chambre au bout du 3eme jour, tout a été fait en moins d’une heure ! Tout est toujours très propre ! Emplacement ++, à 7 min de la plage, en bas il y a un 7/eleven, un petit restaurant pas cher à 2 min à pied et quelques laveries autour !

The location is really good. The beds were comfy and large.

The bathrooms light didn’t work. Also, in the mornings the waters would go off so I’d need to inform the employee but they got it fixed later on in the day.

Nice location and nice and large room.

My washroom light wasn’t working and water went off and on in the morning so I needed to have them fix it.

we loved everything about staying at Freedom Kata! The staff was extremely kind and the room was wonderful. We had a balcony which was a nice bonus! The location is great because you can easily walk to Kata Beach but its just far enough from the hustle and bustle of the beach shops. There are many restaurants around that are less crowded and less expensive than the ones on the main strip. we recommend the place 3 doors down with the pool table for crab fried rice!

You do have to turn off the air conditioning when you leave which was a bit annoying considering how hot it gets but once you turn it back on, it cools the room up real quick! also our shower was almost never hot or even warm but we got so sunburnt we didnt mind!

Location is great, the property is close to beach, shops and restaurants (as are many other properties). Room size is good, quadruple room easily fitted our family of 4: 2 adults and 2 kids

Room did not look maintained, there were stains on the walls from leaks/mold, the bedsheets looked old and not fresh(even though they were washed) The bathroom flush button was getting stuck, tap was leaking - I did not complain or inform as the person cleaning the room would have definitely noticed and i was outside of the room most of the day and did not want to be bothered about changing room, moving luggage etc Only one set of towels for entire stay of 3 nights- not sure if this is the policy of all hotels in the area, but I was expecting one set of clean towels every day of the stay

The room was spacious, and I had booked the balcony option, which was worth the extra cost. I stayed 3 nights on the 3rd floor, and there’s no lift, so be prepared for stairs. The hotel sits right above a 7‑Eleven, which is convenient, and it’s next to a restaurant that opens at 7 a.m.—great for early tour days. The staff were friendly, though the manager or owner felt a bit distant and even forgot me twice, once asking again for my passport and another time thinking I was checking out early. The location is great: about a 10‑minute walk to Kata Beach with plenty of restaurants and shops around, and roughly 30 minutes from Patong. Overall, it’s a practical, well‑located choice for a short stay.

The owner/manager wasn’t very friendly, and some of the furniture felt a bit worn, in addition to a hard mattress, which seems fairly common in Thailand.

Honestly, 711 was close, which was the highlight.

Initially booked room aircon was broken which management was aware of and yet, was then moved to the cleaner closet which was a twin. With no windows or human touch. Bad wiring, zero compensation. Not recommended. Erecting a hammock at the beach would of suited me better. Sad but true

The beds were a good size for my family of three

We were given a room with a faulty bathroom door, and then they fined us 500bahts after locking it and it couldn't open. They claimed that guests normally don't lock the bathroom door, and therefore, it was our fault that they had to break the already faulty lock on the door. Also, the bathroom was not draining water properly, and you'd end up stepping on the dirty water after a shower. The place did not also have a lift. You have to carry your luggage up and down the stairs. Thankfully, we were on the first floor. Overall, very poor customer service 😢

Wonderful staff. Bo, the manager is lovely, and Tan and Mao are both such talented massage therapists in addition to also being the house keepers. The value for the quality and great location cannot be beat, imo. Definitely staying there again.

The building is a bit old and could use some renovations, but again the value is the best I've come across in high season.

Bed sheets had big holes, overall the hotel is a bit worn out. Check whether you get a room with window bc some rooms don’t have a proper window.

Simple hostel, functional, comfortable beds. All around a nice experience at an ok price. Staff is nice, massage is available and it's quite good. Great location and amazing wifi, perfect for remote working a couple of days if necessary.

Staff were very helpful and accommodating when we had to request a late check out and they held our bags for a few hours. Spacious and clean rooms in a good location, a few minutes walk from kata beach and the restaurants. Basic room at an affordable price.

Air conditioning was not cold enough for the temperature it displayed so it may need upgrading. Room and furniture was a bit dated, but this was not an issue. The room was also on a busy road, so it can get loud sometimes and may need earplugs.

Superb hotel. Great location. Rooms are huge. The best thing is the breakfast. Great variety and all is fresh. The chef comes every morning to check everything.

Good location, close to Kata beach, got plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Tucked away in a back alley so it’s not very loud at night.

First about cleanliness, the room itself is rather unclean. From stained bathroom tiles, dusty bed headboard, desk, wardrobe and shelves. Every time I placed something onto a shelf, dust just flew up. The AC and bedsheets smelled rather strongly of mildew and I actually developed an allergic reaction to the beddings, making sleeping difficult. Additionally, the room I was given for my room type does not have any windows, making clearing the air particularly difficult. Then about furniture quality, the bed was incredibly hard, my joints actually hurt while trying to fall asleep. The door to the balcony also has gaps so I question my safety as a solo female traveler while also enjoying the hot air blowing in from outside. On the public areas, the entire place is rather dimly lit and ventilation was also rather poor. The staircase and main foyer is connected by their makeshift trash area which reeks every time you’re near. While my booking was for over a week, I stayed only for one night and left, it wasn’t worth any of the mental and physical torture.

It was exceptionally clean, the place was quite quiet and the room have very nice wooden local furnitures. The personnell were nice.

The hotel is a short 3-4 minute walk away from Kata beach. It is not on the main busy street but tucked away for a nice relaxing stay. For those working remote, the internet is good and fast. There are a lot of family friendly restaurants close by and in house masseuses. The rooms are spacious and clean and the owner is ready to help with whatever you might need. Worth the money and then some.

Good value if just needing a place to sleep, just outside the hustle and bustle of the main drag. 5 mins walk to beach.

Everything was perfect, we had a wonderful stay. Staff and owner were very friendly and helpful. We will deffenitly stay in Freedom Kata again when we return to phuket.

The room was described as “Mountain View”, however the hill was the other side of a very busy road. The noise from the traffic meant we couldn’t sit on our balcony or sleep properly.

Barry runs an efficient hotel, ably assisted by Som & Than who work hard to answer all of your questions & needs, with a cheerful demeanour. I believe Som also runs the massage shop next door and Than is learning thai massage as well. I preferred Kata Noi beach to the one at Kata, but Barry's hotel is at the convenient end of Kata to walk over the hill to Kata Noi beach but also enjoy the bars which are between the two beaches. The nightlife area at the other (northern) end of Kata beach is more suited to hip hop fans who like their beers expensive in lonely (empty) bars.

I was perfectly happy with the location, the cheerful staff and the Thai food options at the Freedom Kata end of town. I ate locally in a family-run restaurant, with a car in the garage and only 8-10 covers on 3 of my 4 nights.

Location was great, nice big rooms with large beds for family of 4.

During our stay there was no room cleaning service.

it was spotless and very well decorated. I had a nice room with a balcony, fridge, safety box and a lot of storage space. It is 15 min walking from Kata’s centre but you can find plenty of restaurants and shops on the way. The place is definitely worth the walk.

Staff didn’t speak much English

Leaving the hotel before the checkout date.

This was by far the worst experience we've had: USED SHEETS AND MOSQUITOES. The room hadn't been cleaned when we got in: used towels hung in the bathroom, used soaps and stained sheets and towels. In addition, there was an *enormous* amount of mosquitoes in the bedroom and in the bathroom. We killed about 50 of them with our hands, but they kept on coming and coming, even though there were not many mosquitoes outside (we figured there might be a nest in the room but couldn't find it). We spoke to the owner who said he can't refund the money, and there was nothing he could do about it except trying to spray the room with anti-fly spray. The owner said they would change our sheets but it never happened and we had to sleep in dirty beds. WE LEFT THE HOTEL BEFORE THE CHECKOUT DATE because the room was in a condition that we couldn't stay in it with the mosquitoes. Don't go there.

walking distance to the beach decent rooms, good air conditioner if you go in the opposite direction from the beach, there are many cheap local cafes advice: use Bolt app instead of taxis and tuk-tuks; Phi Phi islands tour can be 1300 bat only but it still would be 40+ people in a small boat - not very nice, try to find other options

little ants in the room (probably attracted by fruits/other food), however, it was not any in my mom's room on the third floor only one towel per person

It was big and bright room, with big windows! I liked the oldschool furniture, unfortunatley some was broken! It was good location, close to everything! The owner allowed us to stay later on checkout day, so that was really kind!

The room said it is mountain view, but in reality you are just above really bussy and loud street, so it is city view! The towels and bed sheets was with stains, on arrival, we asked to chage towels, which was done! Also the electric kettle was broken! The most upseting thing was the cleaning done in the room, I noticed my stuff being moved around the room ( bag put in closet, some other stuff put in some shelfs) and the worst was that I had usb drive which hold really important information and it's protective case was thrown out, cause after the cleaning it was not in the place I left it, and never found it after that!

Big and spacious. Short walk to the beach and in a quiet corner. Friendly boss and staff. Great value for money. For my room, the air con compressor is diagonally above the drying rack and any wet gear dries in a night. Muay thai gym right next door and I had a session there too. Good and cheap food is easily available nearby.
