Everything about this hotel is superb from the staff, atmosphere, restaurant, ski rental quality and service, location with direct ski in/out, spa facilities especially ice bath, and especially Antonio the resident DJ between both Meribel and El Lodge and his playlists. Will always return to Maribel each year

El hotel es precioso y está súper bien ubicado. Muy cómodo para salir esquiando desde la puerta. Las vistas espectaculares!!! Los servicios q ofrece son estupendos y el personal muy amable y dispuesto a ayudar y hacernos la estancia lo más agradable y satisfactoria. Una maravilla!!!

Beautiful setting, excellent rooms and location!

The only thing i think of is that with small kids the taxi up and down was quite a mess in the busy season. Also because the lift up had a huge queu (+1hour) and walking up with them plus the materials is not an option due to the height increase. With everyone being tired at the end of the day this was the only less nice thing.

Food was great, staff really nice and location is just super, you can rent your skis in the hotel and directly leave with them through the door to a slope already!

Attention to detail during the check-out. It was packed with people doing check-in too so they did not pay a lot of attention.

New staff lack experience, slow service. Overpriced basic drinks and snack type foods (elaborate dishes priced accordingly). Music on Lodge terrace too heavy and loud (nightclub vibe) and just doesn’t make for a pleasant experience.

De bediening in het restaurant was te traag, ook kon je buiten op het terras geen koffie krijgen voor 13 uur, er liepen nochtans heel wat personeel rond. Dat is echt het enige wat nog moet gemanaged worden, het personeel zelf was uitermate vriendelijk, echt top!

De inrichting is prachtig, het personeel ontzettend vriendelijk. Het eten fantastisch.

Het hotel ligt wat uit het centrum, waardoor je een beetje afhankelijk wordt van de shuttle bus van het hotel. De wellness ruimte is wat klein voor dit kaliber hotel. Er is bijvoorbeeld geen rustruimte.

Second time at the Maribel, we love it here!

The room temperature couldn't be adjusted, room was too warm for our liking - we were told to sleep with windows open - then it gets too cold and you have to close them. Rinse and repeat, you know where I'm going with this!

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The location for skiing is excellent. The hotel facilities including the spa are exceptional. The food in the restaurant is of a high standard and the staff is courteous and makes you feel at home. Highly recommended.

the hotel felt really luxurious, in spite of being in Sierra Nevada if you know what i mean )) it's up at the top of the village, so you're away from all the chaos and whenever you need a lift, the hotel immediately sends a minivan to either bring you down to the village or up back to the hotel. staff was extremely nice and helpful, views from the restaurant, gorgeous views of the mountain from the outdoor terrace with its swimming pool and sauna (sauna seemed to not hold the temperature though), very good breakfast, decent champagne at breakfast bar, good level of cooking in the restaurant. overall though the hotel isn't cheap, it felt like it's worth that money, we felt pampered and there was a feeling of generosity around. you pay a lot for the room, but then a lot of things are simply included. also stunning sunsets on the Lodge's terrace with dj's set, just next door and a playroom for kids in the Lodge that can be used by Maribel's guests. tip for people who travel with kids and think of getting a duplex: the two levels of duplex are just tiny and the second level has no door, you can probably consider booking two standard rooms, as all their rooms seem to go in 2 joined by a tiny corridor. that way kids just have their room, parents have theirs and you're just next door to each other.

our room (duplex) was tiny; while all the staff was pleasant and helpful, a girl at the restaurant rudely refused to keep a jar of plain yoghurt for our toddler for after breakfast (that's usually his snack around 11am, but because we decided to stay an extra night in the hotel, i ran out of the ones i had brought with me) saying if there will be one left after breakfast, then we can have it. not a big deal, i just took one and had to come back to our room to put it into the fridge, yet that level of rudeness towards the guests is unacceptable

All food and drink at the hotel was very expensive so be prepared for a big budget spend!

Our stay at this so-called five-star hotel was a huge disappointment and absolutely not worth the €1,200 per night price tag. From the moment we arrived, the service was shockingly bad. We went to have lunch around 11:40 AM, only to be met with rude and unhelpful staff. The waiter first told us the kitchen opened at 12:30 and refused to seat us, then five minutes later changed his mind and said it opened at 12:00. Another staff member kept insisting—at least six times—that we had to leave by 1:00 PM because the restaurant was fully booked. It was incredibly annoying, especially when she came twice while we were eating just to remind us. The most frustrating part? When I returned at 1:00 PM to retrieve a forgotten bag, the restaurant was completely empty. Why were they so desperate to kick us out? This is a five-star hotel, not a budget hostel. Dinner was equally bad. The waiter and sommelier were both rude, and the fondue we ordered was terrible. The next day, we felt unwell after eating it. The room itself was okay but unbearably hot at night, making it difficult to sleep. We had a duplex room for four people, with a large bed downstairs and two beds upstairs. The soundproofing was non-existent—we could hear everything from the upper level, including every step, and even the neighbors. The wooden floors made it even worse, as every movement echoed loudly. Sleeping was a nightmare. The only redeeming part of the stay was the bellboys, who were friendly, professional, and always helpful. The hotel’s interior design and decor were nice, and the transfer service was convenient. But everything else? A complete letdown. For €300 per night, maybe we could overlook these issues. But for €1,200 at a Marbella Club hotel? Absolutely unacceptable. The worst part was the dining experience—horrible service and below-average food. We later went to Lodge, which was so much better in every way: staff, food, and overall atmosphere. Save your money—this place is not worth it!

The steam sauna didn’t work. Was a bummer. But the rest was working so all good. The menu in the restaurant wasn’t to my liking.

The pool was very nice and warm, a beautiful contrast with the snow, but it was on a terrace, which felt a bit uncomfortable to swim in. Would prefer it a bit more secluded, but that’s my personal opinion.

We were disappointed to find that the indoor jacuzzi was not working. When we woke up in the morning, the electricity had been cut off because of bad weather, and this lasted all morning, making it impossible to use the room or the hotel spa and the restaurant. We would have liked to have received compensation from the hotel because at this price, not being able to use the room for half the stay is very disappointing.

Great location and very modern hotel. Due to the hotel being quite small, it makes you feel like you are at home in your own chalet. The reception staff were very kind and attentive.

Whilst the reception staff was very kind and attentive, a staff member who seemed to be a manager was very unwelcoming to our guests. We were a big group and half of the group was not staying in the hotel but coming everyday to have lunch and dinner with us. This manager kept making them feel like outsiders and making an issue to keep the car in the parking for 1 or 2 hours. Didn’t make us feel very comfortable as we were clearly consuming in the restaurant every day together. It’s a shame, as the reception/valet staff were great. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice and relaxed, however this made the staff very distracted and slow with the service.

The hotel laked some facilities. The spa was very small, and the hotel did not have a gym. Of course these are very small details, but when the weather is bad and the slopes are closed, this becomes a little issue. Although the staff in the reception were very kind and competent, the service in the restaurant was very slow, felt understaffed. One of the staff members who appeared to be a manager was very unpleasent with our family which came to visit us at the hotel and wanted to park the car at the hotel. Feels unreasonable to raise issues with these small details as we spend around 9K during our stay, which also shows this hotel is very pricey! Overall good experience, just these small details that could be improved.
