オーナーのサマンさんとウメシャさんが、とにかく親切で、最高の旅をアレンジしてくれました。 野鳥観察に対するサマンさんのガイドは秀逸です。 またウメシャさんが、日々楽しく過ごせるように、美味しい現地の料理を振る舞ってくれました。

Bijzonder gastvrije en vriendelijke mensen op een fantastisch mooie plek, dicht bij de ingang van het regenwoud. Heerlijk gegeten, zowel ontbijt, lunch als diner. Wij maakten met Saman een tour door het regenwoud. Hij is een hele goede gids met oog voor alle grote en kleine dieren daar en neemt hiervoor ook alle tijd. In de avond bij het verblijf zelf wist hij ook een (ongevaarlijk) slangetje te spotten. Aanrader voor als je naar het regenwoud gaat!

Wunderschöne Unterkunft am Rande des Singaraja Regenwaldes in Mitten der Natur. Wir wissen nicht was uns besser gefallen hat, die Unterkunft oder die Gastgeber. Wir waren mit Saman auf Nachtwanderung und am nächsten Tag auf Regenwald-Trekking und man spürt seine Liebe zur Natur. Er erzählt mit Leidenschaft von Flora und Fauna und anschließend wurden wir von seiner Frau und einem gedeckten Tisch voller Köstlichkeiten empfangen. Wir wären gerne noch länger geblieben.

Das Guesthouse liegt in der Nähe des Eingangs zum Sinharaja Regenwald mitten in der Natur. Der Blick von unserer Terrasse war wunderschön. Auch hier konnte man bereits viele Tiere beobachten. Das Zimmer war sauber und hell und das Bett war bequem. Die Gastgeber Saman und Umesha sind sehr nette, gut gelaunte und großzügige Menschen durch die der Aufenthalt dort zu etwas Besonderem wurde. Umesha kümmert sich um die Gäste, versorgt sie mit leckerem Essen und Eiscreme und hat sogar unsere Schuhe nach den Wanderungen gewaschen. Und wer Naturliebhaber ist sollte unbedingt eine Tour durch den Regenwald mit Saman machen. Er hat überall gesucht und hat auch die kleinsten Tierchen für uns gefunden. Wir hatten viel Spaß. Auch die Nachtwanderung können wir wirklich empfehlen. Wir hatten garnicht bemerkt wie spät es schon war, so spannend war es. Wir hatten zwei Nächte gebucht und wären gerne länger geblieben. Vielen Dank für alles!

This place is magical! Saman and Umesha were incredibly kind and helpful. Umesha prepared amazing meals for us every day. The place is so peaceful and beautiful! You can enjoy breathtaking views from your bed or balcony, go for a walk, and immerse yourself in nature… it’s simply magical. We would love to come back and will definitely miss Saman and Umesha. Thank you for making our stay so special!

Eine super Unterkunft. Wir wurden sehr herzlich von unseren Gastgebern Saman und Umesha empfangen. Saman hat auch die Abholung vom Flughafen Colombo organisiert. Das hat wunderbar geklappt. Auch unsere besonderen Bedürfnisse (glutenfreies Essen) wurden voll berücksichtigt und alle Sonderwünsche die wir hatten wurden erfüllt. Sowohl die Nachttour bei der die nachtaktiven Krabbeltiere erkundet wurden, wie auch am Folgetag die Tagestour wurden von Saman selbst geführt. Er hat mit sehr viel Enthusiasmus und Einsatz uns die Natur des Sinaraja Waldes näher gebracht. Wir würden diese Unterkunft jedem weiterempfehlen der naturnah wohnen und die Ursprünglichkeit dieser Gegend erleben möchte.

Alles war perfekt

Wir wurden super herzlich von Saman und Umesha empfangen und über die gesamte Zeit versorgt. Umesha hat für uns sehr lecker gekocht und auch besondere Wünsche (Egg Hoppers ;)) erfüllt. Ein Traum! Saman hat mit uns sehr engagiert eine Nachttour gemacht, bei der wir bereits viele Tiere sehen konnten und am folgenden Tag uns voller Freude den Regenwald mit seiner Flora & Fauna gezeigt. Er war sehr bedacht, professionell & engagiert. Witzigerweise hat er für uns bessere Fotos mit unserer Kamera machen können als wir selbst ;). Also auch noch ein Top Fotograf! Die Unterkunft mit den kleinen Cabines war super gemütlich und wir wollten garnicht mehr weg! Absolutes Highlight unseres Urlaubs! Vielen Dank an euch beide!

De bedden waren voor ons wat te hard

I spent two nights at Rainforest Nest, and it was undoubtedly one of the most peaceful and memorable experiences of my trip. This place is absolutely beautiful because it still feels untouched by mass tourism. There are very few visitors, the rainforest is vibrant and powerful, and the only sounds you hear are those of nature. It is the perfect place to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. As a solo traveller who particularly enjoys peace, quiet, and moments of solitude, I deeply appreciated the sensitivity and kindness of the owners. They immediately understood that I enjoyed spending time on my own. They were always present, attentive, and reassuring, yet never intrusive. Whenever I was sitting on the terrace admiring the view, they would often bring me a fresh fruit juice or a small snack without me even asking. These little gestures touched me deeply because they felt sincere, spontaneous, and completely free of any hidden interest. They helped me organize everything I needed: meals, excursions, and transportation, always with great kindness and generosity. I also joined two excursions with them, one during the day and one at night. Both were wonderful, but I personally preferred the night excursion, which was absolutely unforgettable. We were able to observe many animals and experience the rainforest in a completely different atmosphere. I would like to sincerely thank the owners for their exceptional hospitality. I keep a very special thought for the owner's wife, whose kindness, warmth, and many thoughtful attentions truly touched me. It is rare to meet people who are so naturally caring and considerate. The accommodation itself is also very comfortable: a spacious room, an enormous bed, a private terrace with a magnificent view of the forest, a private bathroom, air conditioning, a fan… everything you need to feel perfectly comfortable and fully enjoy this exceptional environment.

Everything was perfect

De kamer ziet er exact uit zoals op de foto’s en was kraaknet. De ligging is perfect voor een bezoek aan het Sinharaja-regenwoud. Er zijn geen winkels of restaurants op wandelafstand, maar dat heb je ook niet nodig. De gastheer en gastvrouw zorgen ervoor dat je niets tekortkomt. Het eten was heerlijk en kraakvers. De rijst komt van hun eigen rijstveld, het fruit is vers en de egg curry was zo lekker dat zelfs onze dochter van tien, een moeilijke eter, ervan smulde. Ook het ontbijt was top, met toast, een gebakken ei, een heerlijke Sri Lankaanse kokospannenkoek, vers avocadosap en fruit. Flessen water zijn onbeperkt beschikbaar. De eigenaars wonen zelf op het domein en dat voel je. Je wordt ontvangen alsof je bij familie op bezoek bent. Het absolute hoogtepunt was de vier uur durende wandeling door het regenwoud met eigenaar Saman. Zijn kennis is indrukwekkend. Hij zag dieren die wij zonder hem nooit hadden opgemerkt: piepkleine uiltjes, slangen, apen… Hij zorgde ook voor bescherming tegen bloedzuigers en had zelfs regenjassen voor ons klaar. Aan alles was gedacht. Ik kan werkelijk geen minpunt bedenken. Voor ons had dit de beste prijs-kwaliteitverhouding van de hele reis. We waren graag nog langer gebleven. 10/10.

Saman and Umesha are warm and welcoming … they helped us feel immediately at home. The rooms were clean and had ample space for a family of four. The surrounding area is so relaxing, a true break from the everyday life back home. Saman is an excellent tour guide and a great animal and bird spotter. He explained everything so well to us. Umesha’s freshly prepared breakfast and dinner were really good. We highly recommend them and their stay. Thank you so much dear Saman and Umesha.

Our stay at Rainforest Nest was one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such genuine warmth that we truly felt less like guests and more like part of the family. The kindness and generosity shown by everyone were extraordinary. When I became unwell during our stay, they helped take us to the pharmacy, made sure I got the medication I needed, and even prepared homemade soup for me. Their care and compassion turned what could have been a difficult experience into one where we felt completely looked after. It is something we will never forget. A special mention must go to Saman, whose guiding skills are simply outstanding. His ability to spot wildlife in the Sinharaja Rainforest is incredible. We would have walked straight past so many fascinating animals and birds without him. His knowledge of the rainforest, patience, and sharp eye made every walk exciting, and thanks to him we saw an amazing variety of wildlife that we would never have found on our own. The accommodation itself is peaceful, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring Sinharaja. Waking up surrounded by nature and enjoying delicious home-cooked meals made the experience even more special. If you are looking for more than just a place to stay—if you want genuine Sri Lankan hospitality, exceptional guiding, and to feel truly cared for—I cannot recommend Rainforest Nest highly enough. Thank you to the whole family for making us feel so welcome. We hope to return one day.

Umesha zauberte uns super leckere authentische Mahlzeiten, nach unserer Regenwaldtour hat sie noch unsere schmutzigen Trekkingschuhe blitzblank geputzt. Sie ist eine Seele von Mensch. Saman ist ein exzellenter Guide, nichts entgeht seinem scharfen Blick, ohne ihn hätten wir nur Bäume gesehen 😀 So ein liebenswertes Paar! Die Unterkunft selbst war eine Klasse für sich. Liebevoll eingerichtet, toller Blick ins Grüne und auf Reisfelder. Der Eingang zum Regenwald ist nur ein Katzensprung entfernt. Insgesamt können wir sagen, wir hatten den Jackpot

Het wordt gerund door een ontzettend lieve en gastvrije familie, de huisjes zijn prachtig, midden in de natuur en mega schoon, het uitzicht op het terras is heel mooi, het eten was heerlijk en de jungle tour overtrof onze verwachtingen. The location was excellent for day and night hikes in and around the forest. Saman and Umesha are wonderful hosts, very kind, thoughtful and hugely knowledgable about the area. We did a night hike and Saman showed us snakes, lizards, scorpion, frogs and other insects and bugs. The following day am we did a wonderful walk to the waterfall for a scenic swim, exploring the rai forest on our way, this time seeing more snakes, millipedes, monkeys and an owl. We went with our 10 year old sons and it was wonderful for young and old! Umesha is the most wonderful cook and provides the most delicious meals for all to enjoy. I could not recommend Rainforest Nest high enough.

Nothing, it was all fabulous.

We loved everything. The beautiful location in the middle of nature. Sitting on our balcony, with its view into the rice paddies, we could see so much wildlife already. Room and bed were very comfortable. It was very quiet. We ate all our meals there, and everything tasted great and was prepared with love. The tours with Saman were fantastic, we saw so much. He so often was the one who pointed out animals to other guides, who had walked right past them. He was knowledgeable and passionate. But what really made this place special was the loving hospitality of Saman and Umesha, who did absolutely everything to make sure we had a perfect stay. Feeling at home might be a cliche, but here it was absolutely true. Rarely have we been as sad to leave a place.

There was some mold in the bathroom, but in this climate that is almost impossible to avoid and did not bother us at all.

Incredible stay!! The hosts were so lovely and organized everything for us with ease. The food was delicious. The tour was awesome. He gave us so much information about the wildlife and vegetation and answered any questions we had. The room was very clean and had a beautiful view from the front porch. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Ein Juwel zwischen Reisfeldern und Regenwald. Hier stimmt einfach alles. Angefangen bei den Gastgebern Umesha und Saman, der wunderschönen Lage, der hübschen und sehr sauberen Bungalows bis zu dem feinen essen und der wirklich top Führung durch Samed dur den Regenwald. Am Schluss habe ich von Umesha noch ein Stück Aloa vera Pflanze zurBehandlung einer juckenden Hautstelle und obendrauf ein Babypflänzchen davon für zu Hause. Und der ganze Aufenthalt zu einem aussergewöhnlich guten Preisleistungsverhältnis. Herzlichen Dank!!

The best place we stayed on Sri Lanka. Beautiful quiet location, amazing view right from the bed. The cottage is really comfotarble, with great attention to details. What is best is the host family, Saman and his wife made my family feel like at home. Great forest and night village tour with Saman, we have seen and learn so much. I can highly recommend!

We stayed here for 3 nights and had an amazing time. The hosts are so welcoming - they made their home feel like ours 😊The location is PERFECT and staying here was the highlight of our 12 day trip... We really missed the noises of the rainforest once we moved onto Tangalle.

The only thing we can think of is that we thought there was a menu of food to choose from for tea. However, the food was delicious, fresh, and home cooked.

Het is een mooie accomodatie op een prachtige plek met een geweldig uitzicht. We werden warm onthaald en de gastheer Saman en zijn vrouw Umesha deden hun uiterste best voor ons. Ook de wandelsafari door het regenwoud met Saman was voortreffelijk. Hij liet ons heel veel dieren zien die wij niet hadden opgemerkt. Het is een uitstekende gids. De avondwandeling met hem is ook een aanrader!

Die Unterkunft befindet sich mitten im Jungel in einem kleinen Dorf. Die Landschaft und die Lage der Unterkunft ist traumhaft schön. So nette und gastfreundliche Gastgeber trifft man nicht immer, aber hier hat man es hier richtig gefühlt dass man willkommen ist. Es sind die besten und die höfflichsten Gastgeber die wir auf unserer Reise durch Sri Lanka getroffen haben. Die Bungalows sind mit Blick auf Reisfelder und Jungel ausgerichtet, einfach wie in einem schönen Bilderbuch. Die Zimmer sind modern, mit allem ausgestattet was man braucht und wlbesonders hervorzuheben ist die Sauberkeit und Ordnung. Die Gastgeberin Umesha hat immer traditionelles Essen zubereitet und es war einfach nur köstlich. Ihr Ehemann Saman führt unterschiedliche Touren durch wie Jungle Wanderung und viele andere. Total spannend und abenteuerlich. Alles in Allem war es für uns der beste Aufenthalt in Sri Lanka.

We stayed in the cottage and we really enjoyed it. Everything was very clean and the hosts were very welcoming. We went into the forest with Saman and his brother who are wonderful guides. We loved every moment spent here and the 2 days will remain our favorite memory from our stay in Sri Lanka.

This was truly the best accommodation and overall stay we had during our three weeks in Sri Lanka. We absolutely loved the setting — fantastic little cottages overlooking rice fields and right at the edge of the rainforest. Sitting on the balcony was magical, with the calls of peacocks, the sounds of kingfishers, and even monkeys appearing at the forest edge. The accommodation itself was beautiful, cozy, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax and fully enjoy the surroundings. The breakfasts and dinners were absolutely amazing, some of the best food we had on the trip. The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, and Saman, who is a rainforest guide, took us on unforgettable walks where we saw plenty of wildlife. The Sinharaja Forest Reserve itself was a fantastic surprise — we changed our travel plans due to the floods, and it turned out to be a truly unique and unforgettable place. Thanks to this stay and kind hosts, our experience felt very special and authentic, something we will remember for a long time.

I stayed for three nights and it wasn't nearly long enough. I went on a rainforest tour and a guided birding walk both with Saman. I highly recommend you do the same. He's incredibly knowledgeable - He even nursed an injured bird back to health (It had flown into a window and was stunned). there are also so many beautiful paths you can take to explore on your own, and after a full day of exploring you'll come back to a warm greeting, some great food and a very comfortable room. This is where I close my eyes and imagine that I am when I'm having a bad day. :)

Wir haben 2 Nächte hier verbracht und wurden herzlichst von der Familie versorgt und verwöhnt. Saman und seine Frau sind einfach unglaublich liebenswerte Menschen. Während Umesha uns zu jeder Mahlzeit die leckersten Menüs zauberte, hat Saman uns mit seiner ganzen Leidenschaft den Sinharaja Regenwald näher gebracht. Wir haben unglaublich viele Tiere gesehen, auch solche, die man selten zu Gesicht bekommt. Dazu gehört neben Saman’s Können aber auch ein bisschen Glück. Wir haben auch an einem Wasserfall gebadet und einfach eine wunderschöne Zeit hier gehabt. Saman liebt diesen Wald, das spürt man einfach, und man merkt auch, dass ihm insbesondere der Erhalt dieses UNESCO Weltkulturerbes für nachkommende Generationen wichtig ist. Unser Zimmer war neu und sehr sauber. Die Aussicht ist von jedem Zimmer einfach atemberaubend schön. Der Abschied fiel uns wirklich schwer und wir hoffen, irgendwann wieder einmal zurückkommen zu können. Wir wünschen Saman und seiner Familie weiterhin viele nette Gäste, die die Natur ebenfalls zu schätzen wissen.

Dit was zonder twijfel ons beste verblijf tijdens onze reis door Sri Lanka! Fijne, schone kamer met prachtig uitzicht. De eigenaren zijn ontzettend aardig, toegankelijk en geïnteresseerd. We voelden ons hier erg welkom. Het eten was geweldig. De host was ook onze gids in Sinharaja Rainforest. De jungle tour was erg goed georganiseerd. Saman nam alle tijd en wees ons op allerlei soorten, die andere gidsen zullen overslaan. Zijn enthousiasme werkt erg aanstekelijk. Zelfs s’avonds wees hij ons op allerlei soorten die rondom het verblijf voorkomen. We kunnen Rainforest Nest aan iedereen aanraden. Het was een onvergetelijke ervaring.

Absolutely everything ❤️ Sinharaja rainforest is a magical place to visit. Our host's Saman and Umesha were ever smiling 😃 and welcomed us with so much ❤️ and generosity into their beautiful bungalow. Staying here was the highlight of the trip for the 4 of us. It felt like we had a taste of the REAL SRI LANKA, a night and day spent with the most amazing family is something we will take home as a memory to treasure. Saman is a fantastic guide. He is so passionate about his job, his love for the forest creatures and flora is amazing. He was able to show us so much. We spent over 4 hrs on our walk with the most patient man who helped us capture the most amazing photos on our trek. We saw species that are endemic to Sinharaja forest. It was very special. Umesha is also the best cook. We had delicious meals prepared with so much love. Saman provided us with leech socks and salted our shoes on the outside for extra protection. Then when we returned our shoes were washed for us. Exceptional service 👏 Please if you are reading this, do yourself a favour and go. You won't be disappointed. We're sorry we didn't have more time to stay longer. It was so peaceful and grounding to be still with nature. This family is the best 👌

Elegimos este sitio por los comentarios tan buenos, pensabamos que exageraban...pero no. Saman y su mujer nos han tratado superbien, han estado a nuestra disposicion, horarios, comida...todo muy rico. Siempre sonriendo. Hicimos la ruta por la selva con Saman,l.entrada esta a 10 min caminando y fue genial, el entorno es precioso, vimos lisards, alguna serpiente, pajaros, arañas, monos..nos bañamos en la cascada...un entorno preciosos...y cuando llegamos nos esperaban con la comida preparada. La habitación me encantó...muy bonita y la terraza con vistas a los arrozales.. maravillosa. Tuvimos la suerte de ver el cortejo de los pavos reales, como gritan y como abren todo su plumaje. Si te gusta la naturaleza y la paz este es tu lugar, merece las horas de coche que hay que hacer. Nos quedamos dos noches, pero si hubieramos podido nos hubiéramos quedado mas dias...

Meilleurs hôtes de notre séjour au Sri Lanka! Nous avons été extrêmement bien accueillis dans leur coin de paradis. Tout était parfait, que ce soit le bungalow et sa vue, les repas généreux préparés avec amour, et notre excursion dans la forêt de Sinharaja avec Saman! Ein wunderschönes Plätzchen, um den nahen Regenwald zu erkunden! Saman und seine Frau sind sehr herzliche, liebenswerte Gastgeber, Saman darüber hinaus ein äußerst kompetenter Guide durch den Regenwald, der vieles sieht und vieles weiß! Ein großes Dankeschön für einen fantastischen Tag im Regenwald! Die Unterkunft selbst verfügt über gemütliche, saubere Zimmer. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt!

Cabanyets enmig d’un entorn idíl•lic. Habitació neta i amb tot el necessari. Balcó amb tombones amb unes vistes espectaculars. El Saman i la seva família han estat agradables i han cuidat tots els detalls. Els esmorzars i els àpats que ofereixen són bons i molt complerts (impossible acabar’t-ho tot). Vam realitzar una ruta de 6h per la selva amb el Saman i va ser tot un encert. La visita va ser amena i ens va explicar moltes coses sobre la fauna i la flora. El recomano sense cap dubte. This was a beautiful stay right next to Sinharaja Rainforest. Umesha and Saman are the sweetest and kindest hosts - they looked after me when I was unwell at their place, umesha gave me tea and it sorted me out. My favourite stay while I was in Sri Lanka - a literal home away from home! And Saman is an amazing guide in the forest :) hopefully one day I’ll be back!

Saman e sua moglie sono stati molto gentili e accoglienti. Lei ha preparato pasti buonissimi mentre con lui abbiamo fatto un'escursione all'interno della foresta pluviale in cui ci ha spiegato con cura ogni dettaglio su flora e fauna. Siamo state fortunate e abbiamo visto tanti animali. Alloggio ideale per chi cerca calma e un'immersione profonda nella natura. La vista dal balcone è semplicemente stupenda. Assolutamente consigliato!

Pobyt w tym hotelu był absolutnie wyjątkowy! Od pierwszej chwili czuć tu ciepłą, domową atmosferę, a właściciele są niesamowicie serdeczni i pomocni – naprawdę dbają o każdy detal, by goście czuli się komfortowo. Pokoje czyste, zadbane i przytulne ze wspaniałym widokiem. Codziennie przepyszne śniadanie, lunch i kolacja oczywiście typowo lankijskie. Właściciel jest również przewodnikiem po lesie Sinharaja, który chętnie zabierze was na wspaniału trekking. Zdecydowanie polecam i napewno wróce!

Everything was just perfect. The family was so friendly and kind and helpful. We just felt like we were at home ❤️ very clean and big rooms, not hot even in the cabana, anyway there is a fan available. The food was SOOOOOO delicious 😋 We did the forest tour with Saman and he spot many animals, he shows us many and many things in the forest, we also visited a waterfall and took a bath there! Once again, thanks so much to the amazing host, we will miss you so much. 100000% recommend.

Het is een prachtige locatie en het personeel is erg lief! Ze helpen je overal bij en doen vanuit hun verblijf een leuke tour! Hij neemt ook echt de tijd voor een wandeling en zoekt naar bijzondere dingen die de anderen niet vinden of benoemen. Zeker een aanrader!

La struttura si trova vicino ad un ingresso della Sinharaja forest. La camera è semplice ma curata e pulita. La famiglia di Saman è molto cordiale e calorosa. Saman ci ha fatto da guida nella foresta e abbiamo visto animali e piante sentendoci sicuri sia di pomeriggio che di notte. La moglie di Saman cucina molto bene piatti locali. Peccato non poterci stare più giorni!

Hele vriendelijke gastheer en gastvrouw. Prachtig uitzicht. Hele schone accomodatie en de man is een perfecte gids voor het schitterende regenwoud.

Wir waren 3 Nächte im Rainforest Nest und sind begeistert. Die Zimmer sind groß und sauber. Es gibt Warmwasser und einen Balkon von dem aus man Pfaue beim Tanzen beobachten kann. Für uns war die Lage ideal: Mitten im Grünen, nah zum Regenwald, kein Lärm. In der Nähe gibt es einen Fluss in dem man baden kann. Das Essen war sehr gut und die Familie ist überaus herzlich. Wir haben eine Nachttour und eine 6 stündige Tagestour im Regenwald mit unserem Unterkunftgeber gemacht. Beide Touren waren grandios. Wir hatten Glück und haben wirklich viele Tiere gesehen..u.a. weiße Affen, Schlangen, Tausend- und Hundertfüßler, Nashornkäfer und verschiedene Eidechsen. Unser Unterkunftgeber kennt sich wirklich gut aus und hat alles unternommen, um uns möglichst viel zu zeigen. Bei der Nachttour hat er mit Geräuschen ein Lori angelockt und selbst am Abreisetag ist er noch einmal auf die Suche nach einer Schlange gegangen, um sie uns zu zeigen.

Dass wir nicht länger geblieben sind.

Wat een fijne plek op een prachtige locatie. De huisjes kijken uit over de rijstvelden, van waar je allerlei vogels kunt zien. De eigenaren zijn zo vriendelijk. Onze kinderen (4 en 7) vonden het zo leuk om met ze te spelen! We hebben genoten. Het eten is erg lekker en de toch in het regenwoud ook zeer de moeite waard! Alles positief.

I spent two nights with Saman & his family and enjoyed every minute! Saman & his wife are both very warm and cheerful people who simply make you feel at home. Their laughter is infectious. :-))) The peace and quiet in the village, the facilities in the accommodation, the food and of course the view of the countryside are truly unique and I will remember them for a long time to come. I can highly recommend this homestay. The day trip into the rainforest with Saman was also of the highest quality. Having spent most of his time in the rainforest as a child, Saman has a great knowledge of the animals and plants that live there. He really goes out of his way to show guests as many animals as possible in the rainforest, provided nature co-operates. :-))) I will certainly come back again sooner or later and wish Saman & his family many funny guests from all around the world as possible and all the best for the future.

Great place with views over the rice fields. Good location and close to the national park entry. The owners treated us well with great food. The owner is a rainforest guide, which is handy for booking the tour with him. The bungalows are just amazing.

Die familiengeführte Unterkunft liegt direkt am Regenwald, der Gastgeber war ein brillanter Führer, seine Frau, eine Superköchin, der Bruder ebenfalls ein sehr guter Führer und Fotograf.

Nothing to say, everything is good

Er is zoveel te vertellen over dit verblijf. Samen en zijn vrouw zijn werkelijk de liefste mensen op aarde. Ze doen er alles aan om je verblijf zo comfortabel mogelijk te maken. De accommodatie is prachtig en biedt een adembenemend mooi uitzicht. Het eten was overheerlijk (en er was meer dan genoeg!). De jungle tour met Samen was een absolute highlight – hij kent het regenwoud als zijn broekzak en zijn kennis is indrukwekkend. We hebben zelfs samen een gewond aapje kunnen redden! Het respect dat hij heeft voor dieren raakte ons echt en sluit helemaal aan bij wat wij belangrijk vinden. Onze tuktuk had wat schade opgelopen, en zonder dat we het hoefden te vragen, werd dit voor ons geregeld en gerepareerd – wat een service! Kortom: een verblijf om nooit te vergeten. Wij raden iedereen aan om hier te verblijven!

Run by an extremely warm and affable couple - with the husband, Saman, doubling as guide of the rainforest, and a good one at that (he sat with us to compile a list of the bird species seen during our two tours of the rainforest), this bungalow (one of just two) facing rice fields with kingfishers resting on the branch lines was as delight. From waking up to the sound of peacocks meowing and sutra chanting from the nearby temple, to ginormous breakfasts (and lunches and dinners) cooked by the lovely wife of Saman, this was the best place in our short Sri Lankan vacation.

Lo mejor de todo son los dueños Saman, Umesha y su hijo Arjun, te hacen sentir de la familia desde el primer momento son super atentos, son increíbles. Samán es un guía de 10, ves un montón de cosas con el y además es muy simpático, siempre con la sonrisa en la boca. Umesha es un encanto, está al tanto de todo pero dejandote tu espacio. El hotel está cerca de la entrada del parque, muy limpio y acogedor. Desde que llegas ellos se hacen cargo de todo, comidas, excursiones todo a muy buen precio. Super super recomendable, si te gusta visitar selva y ver animales no dudes en ir a este hotel. Cuando nos hemos ido parecía que nos despediamos de la familia, hemos viajado mucho y nunca nos habían hecho sentir así. Volveríamos un millo de veces

No, everything is perfect!

I loved the peacefulness and great air quality in the place, Saman and Mesha were extremely accommodating and were excellent hosts I really felt like I was in my second home. The bungalow is clean and well insulated from insects and has all needed amenities. Saman is a great guide and Mesha is an amazing cook both very friendly and speak great English. I will really miss this place I can’t wait to come back!

I honestly have no negative comments, this was one of my best and comfortable stays ever :)

Najwspanialszy homestay na Sri Lance. Najczystszy pokój z najlepszym wyposażeniem. Polecam skorzystać z opcji oprowadzania po lesie deszczowym. Super miejsce do obserwowania przyrody.

Gekommen sind wir als Gäste, gegangen sind wir als Freunde. Ich kann sowohl die Unterkunft als auch die Gastgeber nur wärmstens empfehlen. Hier stimmt einfach alles. Ja, es gibt keine Klimaanlage, aber wir haben diese auch nicht gebraucht da das Klima in den Bergen angenehm ist und man kann mit offener Tür und Ventilator sehr gut zurecht kommen. Die Tour in den Regenwald mit dem Gastgeber kann ich ebenfalls nur empfehlen. Tipp: Außerdem gibt es die Möglichkeit einen sehr guten Masseur kommen zu lassen.

One of the most beauiful guesthouse during our stay in Srí Lanka. It is super clean! The hosting family are so kind and helpful and the rainforest tour was absolutely the favorite part of my stay. They saw our sunburn and offered us fresh aloe vera to treat is. The view from the terrace is spectecular! I just hope I can visit this place again the future.

Nous sommes une famille franco-allemande et nous avons passé 2 nuits en avril dans ce havre de paix.Ce fut sans aucun doute la meilleure étape de notre voyage.Les chambres sont propres et confortables.La vue est magnifique: les rizières, la jungle, au loin une petite route qu'empruntent quelques locaux en tuktuk ou à pieds.Le hameau est calme et vivant à la fois. La propriété est très bien entretenue et offre un beau spectacle de faune et de flore. Et les hôtes...parfaits.Ils sont accueillants, prévenants, disponibles et discrets à la fois.Nous avons passé de bons moments à discuter avec eux. Umesha est une excellente cuisinière.Elle utilise en grande partie la production du jardin (riz, cannelle, coco, jackfruit,...) On s'est régalé. Saman est un excellent guide.Il voit tout et sait beaucoup de cette forêt.La balade était top. On s'est vraiment sentis super bien dans cette famille.Ils sont très attachants. Bref...On rêve déjà de revenir. Infos pratiques: entrée de Sinharaja à 10 min max, la manufacture de thé Lumbini à proximité et un magnifique temple à 30 min environ. Communication en anglais facile.

Tutto. La struttura è in un posto magnifico, con una bellissima vista dalla camera, che ha un piccolo terrazzino davanti. Camera piccola ma molto bella. Non dimenticheremo mai l’immancabile gentilezza dei proprietari. Il marito è una guida della foresta di Sinharaja, quindi abbiamo fatto l’escursione con lui (consigliatissima). L’entrata della foresta è a 5 min di tuktuk. Colazione, pranzo e cena molto buoni e abbondanti. Il giorno del check out ci hanno fatto lasciare le valigie in camera e tornati dalla foresta (oltre l’orario del check out) ci hanno fatto fare ancora la doccia. È un posto che rimarrà nel cuore per sempre!

Die Herzlichkeit der Gastgeber, die unglaubliche Lage, die Aussicht von der Terrasse, Möglichkeiten, mit dem Besitzer eine Führung im Regenwald zu haben, die Unterstützung bei der An- und Abreise. Alles in allem: alles. Sehr empfehlenswert, wir kommen wieder.

Wichtig ist, zu wissen, dass die Zimmer keine Airconditioner haben. Daher kann es nachts auch mal wärmer sein.

Wir können diese Unterkunft wärmsten allen empfehlen, die vorhaben den Sinharaja Regenwald zu besuchen. Wir haben die tolle Gastfreundlichkeit, das lecker zubereitete Essen, die Führung durch den Park mit einer tollen Vielfalt an Tieren und Pflanzen sehr genossen. Die Unterkunft besteht aus 2 hübschen Bungalows, welche sehr gepflegt und sauber hergerichtet sind. Auch auf der Terrasse kann man sehr gemütlich sitzen, sich erholen und die Ruhe genießen. Die wunderschöne Umgebung bietet tolle Spaziergänge. Natur pur! Wir danken den beiden Gastgebern vielmals für ihre Herzlichkeit, wir haben uns von der 1.Minute mega wohl gefühlt und danken euch vielmals für die wunderschönen Urlaubstage, die wir bei euch verbringen durften 😊🙏

So etwas haben wir selten erlebt. Saman und Umesha waren wirklich wahnsinnig herzliche Gastgeber. Ab der ersten Minute wurden wir mit offenen Armen empfangen. Die Cabana mit Blick über das Reisfeld ist sehr gemütlich und optimal, um zu entspannen. Wir haben mit Saman dann eine Regenwaldtour gemacht, die wir nur empfehlen können. Er ist zertifizierter Guide und sieht wirklich viele Tiere. Die Unterkunft ist ziemlich abgelegen, aber dafür am Eingang des Regenwaldes. Das Ankommen ist nicht für jedes Auto einfach zu machen. Saman hätte für alle Fälle aber auch ein Tuktuk. Die Kommunikation läuft problemlos über WhatsApp.

Spectacular scenary, beautiful houses, friendly family taking care of it all, perfect guidance to the Rainforest, delicious food. Saman told us not only the name of the very many animals we saw but also explained us interesting things about them. He knows so much!!! He provided us with special "socks" and salt to protect us from leeches and when back in the hotel, he washed our boots himself before we realised it. So wonderful caring people! My man had problem in his back and he tool extra time so that he could do the tour without risks and didn't charge any more for the extra time. His wife Umesha cooked many different currys every evening to eat with rice. And breakfast was also delicious and different every day so that we could taste local specialities. We can absolutely recommend it!! Right now I am sitting in the terrace while watching a varan, peacoks, a fisher king and hearing the the sounds of nature. Heaven.

Es war so schön hier. Ein ganz wunderbarer Ort, hat was magisches mit dem Blick auf das Feld von Zimmer aus. Die Rainforest Tour war auch super, wir haben leckeres Frühstück und Abendessen bekommen - alles war ein Traum!

Ons verblijf bij Umesha en Saman zal ons voor altijd bijblijven. Wij verbleven er 3 nachten en werden ontzettend in de watten gelegd. Saman liet ons verschillende bewoners van het regenwoud zien en nam al z'n tijd om mij in de waterval te laten zwemmen. Umesha stond klaar met sandwiches bij thuiskomst en waste daarna nog onze schoenen. Zij zorgden oprecht goed voor ons, precies of we familie waren. Saman zag dieren die andere gidsen totaal niet zagen. De bungalow is van alle gemakken voorzien. Het enige dat er in beide bungalows niet aanwezig is, is airco. Op zich was dit geen probleem want je kan de deur met muggengaas laten opstaan en er komen geen dieren of insecten binnen en een plafondventilator is wel aanwezig. Hun nieuwe kamer is net klaar en deze heeft wel airco. Vanuit je kamer of vanop balkon heb je een mooi zicht op rijstvelden en allerlei vogels. Wij hebben totaal geen last gehad van insecten of ander ongedierte wat je zou verwachten aan het regenwoud. Umesha's broer heeft ons tenslotte veilig naar Tangalle gebracht. Voor mij is het de 3de keer Sri Lanka en ik kan deze accommodatie alleen maar aanraden. Wij hebben genoten van de wandeling, de prachtige omgeving en de lieve familie. Bedankt voor alles en tot weerzien!🩷

Der Ventilator hatte leider nicht genug Kraft um im Zimmer zu wirken. Die Sonne scheint den ganzen Nachmittag direkt auf das Haus und im Zimmer wurde es sehr warm.

Amazing place with amazing hosts. We enjoyed our stay very much. Everything was perfect - bungalow with a view, food, friendly hosts, perfect walking tour through the rainforest! We stayed at 9 different places during our trip around Sri Lanka and this one is in our top 2 together with one more place:)

Es un lugar espectacular,tanto su entorno como su gente,este lugar esta lleno de pura paz. Umesha y Saman son unas maravillosos a personas,su cocina es espectacular,comida auténtica local,Umesha es una gran cocinera. Saman nos ha llevado de ruta por la selva a conocer especies,es un gran guía,sin duda es el mejor sitio donde alojarse,lo recomiendo y volveríamos a repetir sin dudarlo.

Todo nos ha gustado,no puedo poner ninguna pega.
