Nice place, run by Olav, a German expat (who's also a great cook) and his wife. A little outside of city centre but easily accessible with Grab tuk-tuk. Just five impeccable rooms, well equipped, clean and proper. Great value.

I really enjoyed my stay @ Monica Guest House, loved it so much I stayed 3 nights instead of one. Love the nice big bright room with a smart TV with You Tube & Netflix. Also loved the huge balcony on the rooftop with almost 360 degree views of Kampot with the mountains.

To be honest there wasn’t anything I didn’t like.

Wir hatten das Zimmer im obersten Stockwerk und damit schnellen Zugang zu der grossen gemeinschaftlichen Dachterrasse mit fantastischem Ausblick. Das Zimmer ist sehr geräumig. Die Dachterrasse hatten wir an allen Tagen für uns alleine, aber es gibt dort genügend Sitzgelegenheiten sodass man sie auch gemeinsam nutzen kann. Das Gästehaus liegt etwas ausserhalb, um in die Stadt zu kommen kann man günstig ein Grab nehmen oder mit dem Roller fahren. Roller kann man zu einem günstigen Preis direkt in der Unterkunft mieten. Uns hat die Lage ausserhalb gefallen. Das deutsche Essen und ist eine willkommene Abwechslung wenn man länger unterwegs ist, besonders das Frühstück ist lecker und reichhaltig und die Schnitzel sind super. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr gut.

7번 방에 묵었습니다. 방이 굉장히 크고 밝아요! 침대도 크고 침구가 편안해서 잘 잤습니다 주인분께서 도움이 필요한지 어떤지 계속 체크해주시고 적절한 타이밍에 적절한 도움을 주십니다 무료로 물 리필 가능하고 아이들이 놀 수 있는 트램폴린, 자전거, 모래놀이, 커다란 풀장 있어서 즐겁게 잘 놀았어요 방에서 보는 경치, 옥상에서 보는 경치가 정말정말 좋습니다 시내에서 약간 떨어져있지만 툭툭 타면 1~1.5달러로 갈 수 있는 거리이며 바로 옆에 아주 친절한 분이 계신 슈퍼가 있어요!

굳이 꼽자면, 신용카드 사용이 가능하면 좋을 것 같아요.

Nous avons reçu un accueil très chaleureux, je trouve que le rapport/qualité/ prix est excellent. Les enfants ont apprécié la piscine et le trampoline. Pour se rendre sur le riverside, c'était très simple et peu dispendieux en Tuk-tuk. Nous avons eu un séjour très agréable.

Friendly and warm staff, and extremely easy check-in and check-out. Very quiet at night. Great view of Bokor mountain. Constant breeze. Large balcony to hang out on with good all-day sun. The AC and dehumidifier worked well when needed. King-sized beds that were very comfortable. Not far from the town. There's a small market next to the building so you don't have to leave the area to buy necessities. Overall, Monica Guesthouse is the only accommodation I am willing to stay in when visiting Kampot.

Only a little complaint: the maximum shower water temperature was between lukewarm and warm. Otherwise, no problems.

Die Lage etwas ausserhalb, trotzdem nahe beim Zentrum. Tolle Dachterrasse, Swimmingpool, attraktive Menus hausgemacht.

It was very, very quiet at night. There was a lot of breeze in the room with the windows open, so we got to enjoy the fresh mountain and rainy air whenever we were awake. We only used the AC at night because in the day the wind and fan were enough, despite having the top floor with the sun on the walls. We loved the rooftop terrace and the views, and we ate some meals and spent quite a few hours out there. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were clean. The wi-fi worked fine for streaming shows on our devices. We had a dry place to park both our motorbikes, as we had rode in from Phnom Penh. If you're coming without your own bike, it's about 1.5km from the tourist/food area. However, the distance from downtown is one of the reasons we chose this hotel. A guest should go in knowing there is no elevator, but for us that was no issue. Lastly, the owners were very friendly and we felt comfortable coming and going. You'll have no issue if you speak English, German, or Khmer. If you have kids, there is an above-ground pool, fenced large trampoline, and a swing for them to to play with. We would definitely stay here again.

It was great to stay here! We hadn't slept well in a few days in Cambodia and we had the best sleeps ever here. Comfy pillows, comfy bed, great breakfast and coffee and great hosts. We were driving a tuktuk so it was easy to get into town from here.

Nice family drives this guesthouse. Helpfull and hospitable. They had good food and the pool in the garden was nice.

Maybe one little thing: they don't serve Cambodian meals at all..

Very clean and nice guesthouse in Kampot. The rooms are big, super clean and comfortable. You can have breakfast there as well as rent motorbikes at good price The owner and staff are very nice and helpful! Highly recommend it!!!

Friendly staff, quiet location and outstanding breakfast. There is a water dispenser so there's is no need to carry water. I'll stay here again.

It's a short tuk tuk ride away from town and it does not have a lift. That might be an issue for some.

The staff were always really friendly and helpful. The location for us was good just being far enough away from the centre but not too far away. The room was fairly clean.

While I understand that there are a lot of German expats living in the area whom the guesthouse cater for, I think it would be nice to have a slightly more varied menu and one that is in English. However the German we did have was very good. I think this place has huge potential but it just falls short in a few areas. The bed linen while clean really could do with replacing.

I stayed for 3 nights and had the top room which has great views. The room is large and the bed is comfortable. The owner and staff are friendly and let me have breakfast a bit earlier the day I was going on a tour. It's quiet, as it is a bit out of town, but a tuk-tuk only costs $1 and I walked it in 15 min. Decent value for money in Kampot compared to hotels.

I have not stayed in a guest house for many years, it's not a hotel, and l I should not compare it with the hotels I have stayed in in Cambodia. It has high ratings and is top-rated on Google maps, but in my opinion it's nothing special. The room was bare and not very clean. I thought the dried out droppings on the floor were from mice, but when mentioning it to the owner he said it is from geckos. It still shouldn't be there. The TV didn't work and there was no safe (quite important for me as female solo traveller). In the description it was mentioned that no card is needed to pay, but that means you cannot pay with card at all and have to pay with cash. I did not anticipate that.

The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable. The location is also fantastic being close enough to town for anything you need or want to do, but quiet enough to relax in the evening. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Awesome room with a luxurious standard even for europeans. The View was spectacular as well. The Staff always helpful if you needed to book a scooter or get advice.

Unfortunately English (or german) only really works with the owner. The rest of the staff is nice but they just lack the language. Furthermore the breakfast is only german with very few vegetarian options, it is less a local spot than one where you meet other tourists. The location is also not the most convenient or pretty spot next to a busy road. I may be picky, but this is the best rated Place around after all

The bed was incredibly comfortable, I slept so well! The bathroom was squeaky clean and the omelette for breakfast was great.

The location is not the best. However, there is a rooftop with a wonderful view. And if you like walking, it is a walking distance to the town centre (around 20 minutes on foot)

Hosts were helpful for activity planning and they arranged for our laundry to be done at a good price. The A/C worked well!

I didn't dislike anything but it was a little way out of the centre.

Quiet area. Filtered water available so I didn't have to purchase bottled water. Room was cleaned when requested as I informed host I did not need my room cleaned daily. Staff was very nice and pleasant. Host arranged transport to Kep for me. He also booked an appointment with his dentist and helped with finding a pharmacy so I could purchase medication. He arranged several tuk tuk rides for me. It was only approx $3 RT for short rides to go into town for the night market and meals - it was too hot for me to walk that far. Gin & Tonics there were only $2!

Coffee was weak, but I think that might be how they make it in the country.

Lots of breakfast options - tasty, well cooked and well priced. My room and bathroom were very spacious nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. The room was well equipped with a fridge kettle a hair dryer and so forth. The owners were kind and helpful.

The property is a 15/20 minute walk from the center of town but I enjoyed the walk and as a tuk tuk is only a dollar each way it wasn't really an issue.

Really enjoyed our stay here, the staff where very friendly, the location was great and it was one of the comfiest beds we’ve had, definitely recommend

We have stayed at 16 places across Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand and this is the first 10/10. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and the bed was large and comfortable. They offer a laundry service and a bike rental service (they call a bike rental nearby but you don't have to pick it up or drop it off - they come to the hostel). However, the highlight of the stay was the food. Home-cooked German food for dinner and breakfast and everything was amazing (if you get to try the schnitzel and cream spinach, do it).

The laundry service did end up bleeding some of our clothes but that's it.

Staff super friendly and the owner cooks amazing German food!!! Room was huge with a lovely big comfy bed and amazing views. Only 10 mins walk down the road into Kampot town. Or you’re feeling lazy only around £1 for a tuktuk Everything was very clean Loved it here and didn’t want to leave

Only thing I’d say is that the pool wasn’t very clean so I didn’t use it. But I admit with the amount of flies around it would be hard to keep it spotless

good host, good staff, immaculate rooms

We stayed here 5 nights to recharge our batteries after 4 months of travelling and we couldn’t have chosen a better place. The room and bed were so comfortable, spacious and bright. The pool and roof terrace were great to cool off and everything is at your disposal - scooter rental, laundry, printing service and you can book tickets for your onwards journey. The staff is really friendly and the location is fine - yes, it’s not in the city centre, but it’s an easy enough walk or a cheap tuktuk ride. But the best thing about our stay was the food. We had delicious German breakfast every morning with homemade Leberwurst, and the dinners we had here were equally amazing. The owner makes the meals all himself and clearly knows what he’s doing. We really recommend this place highly, we loved every second of our stay here.

Exceptionally Clean. Staff more than Helpful. Breakfast was good and even adjusted the menu to your liking. Helpful with ongoing travels. Terrace on the roof with amazing views. Can not fault value for money of this stay 👍🏻

we could only stay 1 night but everything was great for the price. we could do a late check in, room was super clean, huge comfy bed in big room, breakfast was big and tasty for a very gold price, the swimming pool is mostly on the shadow which is great! staff is really lovely too. i totalle recommend it

Our hotel room was very spacious and clean, lots of windows so we had nice natural light. Really nice roof top terrace which provides a great sunset and views of the mountains, make sure to keep an eye out for the ostriches in the farm opposite the hotel. The staff were really helpful and welcoming, they printed our visas for Vietnam and helped us hire some scooters also.

Little bit of a walk to the centre along a busy road, but we just got Tuk tuks from the Pass App which cost between 4000 & 5000 riel. Best to hire a scooter for 5 dollars a day.

The pictures of this guesthouse just don't do it justice! We had a double room on the 5th floor which was beautiful, it had windows on 3 out of 4 wall so was very bright with beautiful views. Olaf kindly upgraded our room last minute to have air-conditioning for only $3 extra per night. Good location with 15 minute walk to the centre, and had a lovely communal terrace opposite our room which we used every evening to watch the sunset and never saw another person up there! Plenty of hot water in the shower and the place felt very clean. Would recommend, no need to look elsewhere :)

The water in the swimming pool seemed to have a harsh chemical that burned my skin a bit - careful if you have sensitive skin!

Our hosts were very welcoming, friendly and willing to help with anything we asked.- booking tuk tuks into town and a very good value laundry and ironing service. The rooms and all areas of the guesthouse are very clean and well maintained. Housekeeping is available whenever you request it The rooftop terrace is a very impressive space where you can watch the world go by with great views all around. A great place to chill and have a few beers. The breakfast is VERY good - liverwurst and black bread an absolute revelation to me.- thanks Olaf.

The overground pool was OK but could have been a little cleaner. A bit out of town but only a few minutes and 1.25 dollar in a tuk tuk.1

The hotel was modern, clean, spacious, comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The balcony and view great. Breakfast was YUM. We liked everything.

Nothing to dislike but worth mentioning the pool is above ground and small - so not a swimming pool per se but great just to cool off. The bathroom floor became swamped after a shower which didn't bother us but for young children, or people with mobility issues it could be a hazard. (This was a family room). It did drain away pretty quickly and thoroughly.

The owners were very welcoming and helpful. The German food is exceptional, the view of the mountain was beautiful and overall it was a great place to stay. Close to town and within walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Very comfortable rooms in this price range hardly slept better. The breakfast offer deserves a special mention. Very friendly staff.

We had a great time the owner is super friendly and the kids were also super happy that this guesthouse has a swimmingpool and a kids playground. They are offering also a super tasty nice breakfast. For sure we will come back again when we are back at Kampot.
