The owner and his family was so supportive for the stay and to explore Varanasi.

As the name indicate, the property is in a gully and the way to the property is a gutter..

They were very kind, welcoming, and friendly.

I had my own room with air conditioning and a ceiling fan and private bathroom. Every morning and during the day I was greeted with a chai tea that I love so much. Some evenings with masala and lassi ☺️ I was so pampered like never before when traveling. They arranged my tours, transportation and took me anywhere I needed to. They went above and beyond!

There’s nothing I didn’t like 🥹 As a woman and solo traveler for the first time ever, i felt safe and taken care of.

The stuff is very helpful and friendly and the location is quiet.

There was no toilet shower neither toilet paper in the toilet. Water was running out of the toilet flusher. The room was very small only with a little space to walk around the bed. There was no natural light at all and the lightning was LED kind of light so either too bright or completely dark, so the atmosphere wasn't cozy at all.

De uitbaters communiceerden met ons via WhatsApp voor we aankwamen en stelden heel wat zaken voor. Het was bijna een reisbureau. Ze regelden alles voor ons en alles was piekfijn in orde. Ook de kamers waren zoals op de foto's, dus wat we verwachtten. Wiki gaf ons een rondleiding. Hij was zeer enthousiast en wist zijn enthousiasme op ons over te dragen. Het is als Europeaan belangrijk een gids te nemen. Anders ervaar je de stad niet zoals ze is. Je wordt continu lastiggevallen, waardoor je zou opgeven en mooie dingen zou missen.

E' stato un piacevolissimo soggiorno. La struttura è a pochi passi da Assi Ghat quindi puoi vivere facilmente l'atmosfera della città. L'appartamento è molto pulito e spazioso, ottima la colazione servita sul tetto. La cosa però che rende speciale il soggiorno è la gestione dell'host e della sua famiglia che sono a tua disposizione aiutandoti nel gestire le attività e ogni altra tua richiesta.

Siamo stati benissimo. Il proprietario, sua moglie e tutta la sua famiglia sono stati gentili e disponibili. Hanno organizzato tutte le attività per noi. La loro gentilezza e i loro sorrisi ci resteranno nel cuore. Lo consiglio, posizione ottima, colazione indiana cucinata al momento, stanza e struttura pulite.

Friendly staff, nice breakfast each morning easy location, owner was on hand via messaging for any guidance. Aircon worked well. We spent 5 days and were quite happy here.

Shower was a bit broken and the toilet would get very wet. The tour options were very expensive (tourist rates) so we looked elsewhere. It would be good if the breakfast could be given with a warning rather than being knocked on the door between an hour window.

We are a family of five (three kids included). The owner Saurabh was very kind and flexible to help us. The family run homestay is situated very central, great location. We felt very safe at this location. We had the family rooms and that was just perfect for us. Breakfast was just unbelievable..so delicious and freshly home made. Saurabh made sure we had a great guide to take us around and also the best driver he had suggested as well. We truly recommend this homestay and also recommend all the services they provide along..incredibly trustworthy. We hope to see you again someday. Until then: all the best to you and your family! Excellent value. Couldn't have picked a better location. Nice simple breakfast. Had indian and continental breakfast which consisted of eggs and toast or cereal and toast or an Indian breakfast. Breakfast was between 8:30am and 10am. We arrived fairly early due to an early flight. Glad we arranged transport pick up thru the hotel as the hotel would have been difficult to locate on our own. Since in the older historic area near by AssiGhat, cars aren't able to enter the alley ways. Saurabh and his wife sweety, assisted with all this as well as arranging a half day walking tour as well as a sunrise boat trip for us. All the staff were warm and welcoming. Since it was early and our rooms weren't available yet, we were provided a room to rest and cool off in. Now that's customer service.

El manager no se encontraba cuando llegamos pero tuvimos una excelente comunicación por WhatsApp. El padre, quien no hablaba mucho inglés, se esforzó en recibirnos de la mejor manera y hacernos sentir como en casa. El desayuno es fantástico y la ubicación excelente a pasos de Assi Ghat donde puedes observar las ceremonias de mañana y tarde.

El baño no está dentro de la habitación pero no es un problema.

Thank you so much for all your assistance and empathy in that situation as well as for the booking of the taxi. You are really taking care of your guests what I appreciate! El alojamiento está muy bien, lo recomiendo 100%. Al principio no nos fiábamos por los comentarios negativos que decían que eran habitaciones pequeñas, en cambio nuestra experiencia no ha sido así. La habitación era agradable, cómoda limpia y equipada. El personal super amable, hasta nos ayudó como un guía a saber dónde estaban situados algunos lugares. Se encuentra bien situado ya que está bastante céntrico pero dentro de lo que cabe se encuentra en una calle más tranquila. El hotel tiene una excelente ubicacion, puedes ir caminando a los ghats y ver las ceremonias, pero creo que lo mejor del hotel es la atencion de todo el personal, sobre todo gracias a la ayuda de Saurabh quien también me dio soluciones para poder ir al aeropuerto! Espero regresar

Lovely staff, great breakfast, right next to Assi Ghat for morning & evening aartis. Room was comfortable and clean, ac worked. We had a lovely stay!

Only thing was the window in our room led to inner hallway, and the curtain was on the outside. Glass was frosted and nobody moved the curtain at all so not really a problem, but maybe that's something to change :)

Super friendly owner and very helpful staff, always happy to help me with any of my enquiries. Location really close to Assi Ghat. Nice terrace also to interact with other travellers. They arrange our boat tours and city tours it was really amazing and fun. Everything was always clean. Would definitely come back!

L’emplacement, à 5 min du Gange ! L’hôte qui a été super pour nous trouver des activités sympas et de qualité ! Clim qui marche bien.

Les draps malheureusement tâchés, la salle de bain pas pratique et pas très propre. Varanasi est dans l’ensemble l’une des villes les plus sales visitées en Inde et je pense que malheureusement cela joue dans la capacité de l’hôtel.

Couldn’t have asked for a better host (and guide) than Saurabh. Always willing to help you get the best Varanasi experience. All the staff is very kind and the homestay is very well located.

What I loved the most about this place is that it doesn’t feel like a typical hotel at all — it truly feels like home. The owner and his family were incredibly kind and welcoming, and they made me feel comfortable from the very first moment. The location is perfect, the room was very clean, and everything was just spot on. They also helped organize a private boat ride at sunrise to see the cremation rituals on the Ganges — an unforgettable experience.

This hotel offers stay as at home, but you must be prepared that there is not much comfort and to get to the hotel you need to meander through the alleys full of shit and flies, but this is how the life runs there. The location is excellent, 5 min on foot to Assi Ghat where the morning and evening Aartis are performed. You can walk from there through all the ghats and observe the life near Ganga river. The breakfast served is very good, in local style, and menu changes every day. But what makes this hostel special are the people working there, very helpful and with open hearts. We took several excursions through them and all of them were excellent.

Struttura a conduzione familiare, basta poco e ti senti parte del gruppo! Il personale è davvero molto gentile e disponibile, pronto a condividere informazioni e consigli. Camera pulita e comoda. La colazione è ottima e viene servita in uno spazio comune (terrazzo) in un clima di amicizia che permette la socializzazione con altri ospiti. Inoltre la posizione è ottima per prendere parte alle attività sul fiume Gange. Una guesthouse consigliatissima, abbiamo trovato persone davvero interessanti e cordiali

My friends and I stayed at this hotel over the weekend, we were a group of 8, and the owners could not have been more welcoming and cooperative. We were greeted with a large breakfast on the terrace, all cooked by the lovely couple who owns the hotel, offering both traditional Varanasi breakfast and European cuisine (we loved our banana pancakes !!). We had booked two full apartments, each apartment had a terrace, bathrooms and dining table with seats. The rooms were spotless, much higher quality then we expected given the price and so many amenities too, the AC worked great, we were given towels, soap, tea and kettle . The bathrooms were clean too. The location is great, simply five minutes walk from Assie Ghat, a lively area with restaurants, shops and of course the Ganges, but far enough to be completely calm, we never heard any road or restaurant noise. Also good to note most guides are situated in this area and this facilitated our walking tours. They also arranged for us our taxis back to the station and gave us many food and sightseeing recommendation. Their rooftop is a great place to hang out in during the day or evening with pizza and some playing cards too ! We could not be more happy with our stay, we were overall impressed with the facilities and the staff kindness. Thank you again ! We hope to be back.

Gully ghar- literally a home away from home in the iconic gullies of Varanasi! Saurabh and his wife are so welcoming and made me feel at home. They suggested places to visit, food to eat and we spoke everyday over breakfast about the joys of travelling, solo travellers, work from home, kids and their tantrums to go to school, how opposites attract, marriage, independence, women empowerment and mainly Varanasi.! They serve and cook breakfast in their kitchen by themselves adding the personal touch, stuff you with lot of food and love so that you are content all day and can clock in 30k steps to explore the city! They also went out of the way and ordered gulab jamuns for me before my departure since I told them that i missed trying it out! Sweetest hosts ever. They also arranged for boar rides and other walking tours! The place is a guest house, decent rooms, clean bathroom, and at a good location. Although its on Assi ghat (one of the most popular and busiest places in Varanasi) yet its peaceful and quiet there.. definitely recommended!!! Feels Like A Home.....

Purtroppo quando siamo arrivati a Varanasi c è stato un problema con la carta , gentilmente lo staff si è prestato a risolvere la questione dandoci una camera in un hotel vicino ,dicendo che era la stessa struttura. A malincuore non era ciò che ci aspettavamo anche perché prima di prenotare l’hotel abbiamo visionato le recensioni e tutte erano positive.Per quanto riguarda lo staff sono stati gentilissimi ci hanno accolto con un the caldo molto buono ma per quanto riguarda la camera non c era la doccia non avevamo carta igienica e la camera era poco pulita.Mi dispiace davvero dire tutto ciò anche perché so che è importante per le attività avere recensioni positive ma ho detto solo la verità

Quite simply- everything!! As soon as we arrived, we felt welcomed with open arms and a warmth you cannot put a price on. The hosts, Saurabh and Sweety were down to earth, authentic, kind and helpful, with an infectious love of life. It felt like home for the entire time we stayed and we felt included and part of the family, in a way that felt respectful, inclusive and spacious. They couldn’t do enough to help and to ensure we had the richest experience of Varanasi we could, which we absolutely did,thanks to their generosity. The facilities were great, the breakfast on the rooftop was awesome, welcomed every morning with gentle kindness and enough yummy breakfast food to fuel you for the incredible experience that is Varanasi. It is 5 minutes walk from Assi Ghat, and yet offers a quiet escape from the bustle of the city. The rooftop also offers a space for a moment of quiet calm above the wonderful Varanasi. The art work at the property is also vibrant and brilliant. I highly recommend the heritage tour of the city. Wiki- the guide, was incredibly knowledgable, friendly, and it felt like the best way to get a good understanding of this incredible city. We were fortunate enough to stay for Holi, and they hosted a truly brilliant Holi celebration, which was just abundantly colourful and joy full! I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful home from home. Stay here, you won’t regret it!

Family was super friendly, welcoming and helpful. It’s easy to meet other people at the guesthouse too. A highlight for me was the tour with Vicky. He was excellent, fun, knowledgable and showed me the secrets of Veranasi- beautiful human being.

Very welcoming, staff met me on the road, carried my luggage, and walked me through the alleys to the hotel, then served me ginger tea immediately! The rooftop breakfast was delicious and quite generous. It was super clean with a very comfy bed and all the amenities, hairdryer, electric kettle, TV, AC, fan, shampoo, etc! Sweetie and Saurabh are wonderful hosts and really know how to show hospitality! I have stayed in Varanasi many times and this was THE BEST by far!! They are very well organized and give you a very detailed written guide to the city. The location is perfect, very close to Assi Ghat, restaurants and shops. It’s beautifully decorated with lovely murals and the blue lights around the bed were very cool. I was on the 4 th floor and could not hear the street noise with the fan on. The staff are kind, respectful and very helpful. I was very impressed with all the little extras, they have thought of everything!! I would most definitely stay here again and recommend it to my family/friends!! It’s a very happy place with a super warm vibe.

Basic but clean rooms, comfortable beds, new AC unit, located in a quiet street away from the chaos. Good breakfast, friendly staff which will offer tours and boat rides without being too pushy. Hot showers (but only for a couple of minutes).

It would have been nice to have freshly brewed coffee (rather than instant) and a quality Jam for breakfast (the one provided had a strong chemical taste). Also sheets felt and look a little tired. Occasional smell of sewage from the bathroom but that is common at many facilities in India. There is no toilet brush in the bathroom, again this seems to be the rule in India. Shower heads spray water in all directions and are due for replacement or kalk removal Beware of other budget facilities that look amazing on pictures. It is common practice in India to heavy photoshop pics in a way that borderlines scams. Pictures of this hotel reflect reality. I would actually say that the facility looks better in real life Despite the opportunity for improvements this is a solid budget option and I would recommend it to other fellow travelers.

The highlight of this hostel is definitely the hospitality. The owners truly live up to their promise of being a "home away from home." They are incredibly welcoming and made us feel like part of the family, even inviting us to a wedding. The breakfast is delightful; instead of a buffet, they prepare a fresh plate for you, which makes you feel genuinely cared for. Having breakfast on the rooftop early in the morning is a wonderful experience. Additionally, the location is perfect, right at the Ghat, making it very convenient for the Aarti ceremony, boat trips, and yoga. They were also extremely helpful in arranging airport pickups and tours, making everything very easy for us.

Since it is a hostel, the structure is simple. It fulfills everything it promises in terms of comfort for a hostel, but you shouldn't expect the luxury or infrastructure of a high-end hotel.

At vores toilet ikke lå inde på værelset men at vi skulle ud på gangen. Men jeg tror det var det eneste der var sådan.

路地を少し中に入ったところにあるので、夜や明け方は野犬リスクが高い。 天井のファンの固定が外れかけており、いつ落ちてくるかとヒヤヒヤしながら眠ることになる。 朝食はルーフトップに案内されるが、階段しかないので結構辛い。 メインガートから少し離れているので、毎日リキシャで片道〜100ルピーかかる。

Staff all took care of us throughout. Organized ceremony+boat ride, recommended restaurants, brought medicine and let us check out late when we got food poisoning on the last night. (They also definitely didn't cause the food poisoning)

Rooms weren't very soundproof

Abbiamo trascorso qui due notti e siamo molto soddisfatti della nostra scelta. Le camere sono pulite e ben arredate, ottima posizione della struttura. Accoglienza eccellente da parte del personale, davvero disponibile e molto premuroso. Consigliato il loro tour della città, Viki si è rivelato un ottima guida, molto professionale e appassionato.

Ontzettend vriendelijke eigenaren, fijn dakterras, goede tour. Wij hadden de heritage tour van Wiki echt een aanrader. Boek je tours vooral hier!

Evenementen lokatie achter het hotel, kan je wat geluid van horen. Wij vonden het niet storend.
