The Alam Karang team displays a level of generosity that will remain a highlight of your stay. The food, comfort, and accommodation were all perfect. I recommend this place for exploring the magnificent island of Gili Gede; it is an ideal spot for snorkeling, diving, and fishing enthusiasts. The view from the accommodations is sublime.

Bellissima struttura con pochi bongalow costruiti con elementi naturali, bella spiaggia con comodi lettini ed ombrelloni , anche se il mare di fronte è poco balneabile per la marea (ma organizzano bella e divertente escursione alle isole vicine per snorkelling) Stanza confortevole e pulitissima, personale gentilissimo. Colazione buona però con scelte più ‘occidentali’ (noi avremmo preferito piatti con cibo locale per immergerci nella loro cultura… a soli 10 min a piedi si raggiunge il villaggio con tipici warung sulla spiaggia, per cene con deliziosi piatti di pesce fresco)

Unica pecca alla sera dopo le 22 nella piccola stradina dietro la struttura transitano rumorose moto sino a tarda notte.

Paradise! My lumbung was so beautiful. Big clean bathroom. Clean towels in different sizes. The most caring staff ever, so much friendliness. And the food, please do try the local flavours, so delicious! Huge breakfast! I did the snorkeling trip, highly recommend. Thank you all one more time ❤️

Vista maravilhosa sobre a praia a partir dos confortáveis bungalows. Simpatia do staff, que disponibilizou material para snorkeling (e até uns sapatos de praia , depois dos meus se estragarem) para que pudéssemos aproveitar os corais que se podiam visitar mesmo em frente ao alojamento. Bom restaurante, mas também com warungs próximos com bom peixe grelhado se não quiser fazer as refeições todas no alojamento. A praia em frente ao Alam Karang estava limpa (ao contrario de alguns reviews que tínhamos lido sobre poluição em Gili Gede) e era calma (sem vendedores de produtos ou serviços). Notou-se um grande cuidado do stafff em mantê-la assim. A atividade de snorkeling nas Gili próximas, organizada pelo Alam Karang teve um preço justo e acabou por ser uma experiência excelente (principalmente para a minha filha de 9 anos) quer pela beleza e diversidade do fundo marinho, quer pela simpatia e segurança providenciadas pela equipa que nos acompanhou.

Do bife no restaurante...mas a culpa é minha...ninguém devia pedir bife de vaca numa Gili :) Recomendo vivamente o alojamento!

Great location. Really great place for relaxing. Also one of the most beautiful snorkling spots. You can also spot turtles which is great. The staff is excellent and does its best to give you a perfect holiday experience.

Si vous aimez le snorkeling c'est vraiment the place où vous poser. Super spot juste devant le bungalow+ les sorties en bateau qui sont incroyables aussi bien pour la beauté des coraux que pour la diversité de la faune sous-marine. Poisson lion, murènes, tortues... nous en avons eu plein les yeux. De plus les hébergements sur la plage sont confortables et très propres. La cuisine est excellente et surtout le personnel est très attentionné. Un remerciement particulier à Marie qui est un guide hors pair pour découvrir cet environnement merveilleux.

Alam Karang is a small piece of paradise on beautiful island of Gili Gede. Gili Gede itself is great place to visit with nice beach and authentic village. In Alam Karang we could order massage, trip for snorkeling or food for lunch and dinner. Bungalows are beautiful, well arranged and clean. I loved bathroom in which we had wild flowers from garden looking through the window. There is also comfortable place at the restaurant where we could spend time together, drink Bintangs or mojitos. Staff in hotel were friendly and helpful, they arranged us transport from & to Lombok airport. The owner was very kind - she went with us on the snorkeling trip which was the best during our travel in Indonesia. WiFi working properly but only close to restaurant. We would love to be back in Alam Karang some day.

I found nothing to complain about. We preffered food in the village as it was more authentic and less "western", but this is only our opinion (I can advise warung in the end of the village where food is quite spicy). PS. there are pieces of reef on the beach in Gili Gede so it is worth to have swimming shoes.

Absolut tolle Menschen! Sie waren enorm herzlich zu uns und unseren Kindern! Unglaublich schöne Lage, super Restaurant. Sehr durchdachte Bungalows, welche mehrmals täglich gewischt wurden.

Nous avons apprécié notre séjour d une semaine où nous avons pu nous relaxer dans ce lieu paradisiaque. Il y a un spot de snorkeling 🐠juste en face et une sortie snorkeling à été organisée avec Alam Karang avec des spots de snorkeling faciles et préservés. Les petits déjeuners ont un large choix et sont délicieux ainsi que les repas très copieux. Le village tranquille se trouve à peine à un km en longeant la plage avec des warungs et un petit centre de massage avec un monsieur qui masse incroyablement bien. Encore un grand merci à Marie pour sa French touch aussi loin de chez nous et à sa belle équipe qui ont contribué à nos merveilleuses vacances 😀

Les logements sont directement sur la plage. On a pu faire des sorties snorkeling avec l'hôtel et voir de magnifiques coraux. Le personnel de l'hôtel a été très accueillant.

Very good communication. They organise the transfer from the airport 400K for the car. Boat 50K per person. Comfortable and punctual. The staff are amazing. We were greeted by Danny who was so sweet and competent. They were all really nice and helpful. Food at the restaurant was good. The owner is French - fantastic crepes. The rooms are simple but comfortable. The single beds are a bit narrow but good mattresses. No bidet in bathroom. They organise excellent snorkeling trips. The guys from the hotel who do it really know their stuff. The snorkeling is top quality. So may varieties of fish. Pristine coral which sadly is a rare thing these days. Not to be missed

Beach in front not great. Water nice but lots of vegetation so nice for floating but not swimming. Also we got stung by jellyfish. Not the dangerous ones but a bit uncomfortable. The island doesn't have good beaches. Most of the island is quite dirty

Es war einfach alles wunderbar. Eine der Besten Unterkünfte die wir auf unserer 2monatigen Reise durch Indonesien hatten. Die Bungalows sind sauber und sehr schön eingerichtet. Der Strand direkt bei der Unterkunft ist super, man kan schwimmen und schnorcheln. Der Schnorchelausflug den wie gemacht haben war ebenfalls super (wir konnten uns so viel Zeit lassen wie wir wollten). Das Personal ist super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen und Frühstück ebenfalls top.

Da gibt es absolut nicht - alles war perfekt.

Un endroit exceptionnel, un joyau, un havre de paix vraiment. Tout est au rendez-vous, accueil, hospitalité, gentillesse, bienveillance, propreté, emplacement superbe pour le sunrise, cuisine délicieuse. Beautiful piece of island paradise to enjoy and soak in the peace of nature. The people like all over Indonesia are very kind and helped us organize taxis and a snorkeling tour hosted by the property itself. There is a small coral garden on the property and a beautiful sunrise. We enjoyed the snorkeling tour spotting loads of fish, 2 turtles, and some patches of brighter, healthier coral. The food was also nice so we didn’t feel like we needed to leave. They do a great job of keeping a beach front property like this clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return with our family!

If you come during rainy season don’t be surprised to see trash in the ocean like it would be all over South East Asia. The business owners try to keep it clean and it’s nice help.

Accommodation Alam Karang on the island of Gili Gede is a perfect place for anyone looking for peace, relaxation, and an authentic atmosphere بعيد from crowded tourist spots. The owner, originally from France, is incredibly kind, attentive, and welcoming—just like the entire staff, who take care of guests with genuine warmth. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a refreshing lime drink, which was a lovely start to our stay. A big advantage is the possibility to rent a kayak and snorkeling equipment, allowing you to fully enjoy the beauty of the surrounding sea. For more active guests, there are also boat trips to nearby islands, which are definitely worth it. The food is absolutely excellent—especially the desserts, which we truly loved and looked forward to every day. Drinking water is also available, which is very convenient and appreciated. Overall, this is a place with a wonderful atmosphere where you can truly relax and recharge. If you are looking for a peaceful paradise away from the crowds, Alam Karang is a fantastic choice. Staff were all fantastic, Danny went over and above to help. Accommodation onto the beach (like all of Indonesia could do with a bit of a clean) great room and large outdoor bathroom. Food all freshly cooked and more than enough variety for the week we were there. 2 lovely snorkelling trips and a day tour around some of the sites of Lombok. Highly recommend.

Tout ! L’endroit est paradisiaque, les chambres ont vue sur mer et les pieds dans le sable. Le personnel est adorable et hyper dispo, bref un service 5 étoiles ! On a adoré pouvoir faire du snorkeling directement depuis la plage de l’hôtel, en nageant sur 30m on aperçoit des coraux bleus et pleins de poissons tropicaux + ils prêtent masques/tubas et chaussures d’eau. Allez-y les yeux fermés, on serait restés 2 semaines en plus si on avait pu :)

Le restaurant de l’hôtel est bon mais un peu cher pour ce que c’est, surtout qu’il y a pleins de warung hyper sympas dans le village à côté (15min de marche).

L'accueil de Marie était fantastique et son personnel est très chaleureux. Le lieux est idyllique. La sortie snorkeling avec Marie est l'un de nos meilleurs souvenirs.

The accommodation is well run by Marie and her employees. It's a nice place with its own private beach. Snorkel equipment and canoe is free to use anytime. Marie runs the place with a steady hand and her employees make every effort to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Daily cleaning in your hut ensures minimal sand on the floor and insects in your bed, which is a very nice detail. They offer a snorkel trip at a cost which is well worth it. We saw turtles 😁. The huts are comfortable and being so close to the ocean is great for both easy access to the amazing water and falling asleep to the sound of the waves. If possible we'd like to return some day.

The food is fine, but nothing to write home about. The selection is somewhat scarce, so we did grow a bit tired of it on the last day.

Ich war alleine in dem Resort mit den ca 8 Angestellten jungen Männer. Die zwar freundlich waren und ihr bestes gaben aber ich habe mich nicht so wohl gefühlt. Gili Gede ist sehr remote und es gibt nicht viel zu tun. Was schön sein kann, aber wenn man alleine ist, auch langweilig. Ich finde die Bungalows sind nicht mehr voll im schuss. Sie sind ok aber für den Preis hätte ich mehr erwartet.

Verder hebben we een prachtige snorkeltour ( georganiseerd door Alam Karang) gedaan, ik denk dat er weinig betere plekken zijn! Overigens kun je vanuit het huisje zo de zee in lopen, en daar kun je ook uitstekend snorkelen. Lekker gegeten . En in de avond gitaar gespeeld en gezongen.

Mehr als den wunderbaren Strand vor der überschaubaren, netten Anlage braucht man eigentlich nicht, Chillen total. Das direkt davor liegende Riff mit den blauen Korallen ist großartig. Der Bungalow selbst ist einfach, aber absolut ausreichend. Das Personal war immer freundlich und bemüht, sehr lecker das selbstgebackene Brot zum guten Frühstück.

Wir hatten 'Gartenblick', eher Blick auf die unschöne Rückseite des Bungalows davor als 'Garten'. Das Essen im Restaurant wirkte auf uns uninspiriert, fast wie vorgekocht und aufgewärmt, enttäuschend für uns, wenn wir die Küchen der anderen Unterkünfte auf unserer Reise betrachten. Das Resto im Resort direkt daneben war unsere Rettung! Ein Wasserkocher im Bungalow wäre fein.

We had an amazing stay! We loved waking up right on the beach it felt truly magical. There’s even a snorkeling spot just in front of the accommodation, which was perfect for us. We also did the boat trip, and it was such a great experience. The staff is super friendly, helpful and really cool. We had an incredible time in Alam Karang! we’ll definitely come back!

Het personeel, de beste staff ooit! Ze dachten mee en gaven super goede tips. Laatste avond uitgenodigd voor de Sunset met de boot en staff, geweldig. Huisje tip top in orde. Goed nagedacht over alles wat je maar wensen kan voor een goed bedrijf.

Eine meiner TOP-4-Unterkünfte in Indonesien – und ich habe insgesamt 15 gesehen! Das Alam Karang auf Gili Gede ist ein absolutes Paradies. Auch nach 4 Tagen Aufenthalt habe ich keinen „Fehler“ gefunden – ich bin völlig begeistert! Die 5 Hütten sind sehr komfortabel und durchdacht eingerichtet, ein kleines architektonisches Meisterwerk, und vom Bett zum Wasser sind es nur 50 Meter :) Das Essen ist grandios, das Korallenriff vor der Tür bemerkenswert vielseitig und das Team jederzeit aufmerksam und freundlich! Nach abenteuerreichen 3 Wochen in Indonesien war dies das perfekte kleine Paradies, um abzuschalten – Touristen findet man hier so gut wie gar nicht, weil der Strand nur bei Niedrigwasser einen Weg ins Dorf bietet, so dass es kein „Laufpublikum“ gibt. Nehmt ausreichend Bargeld und für Bootsausflüge eine große Wasserflasche zum Wiederauffüllen mit, denn beides gibt es vor Ort nicht (außer einer Glasfalsche fürs Zimmer). Mit kleinen Tieren im Zimmer (Geckos, Frösche etc.) muss man – wie überall in Indonesien – rechnen. Aber Geckos bringen Glück, insofern freut Euch, wenn Ihr welche an der Wand entdeckt :)

Ein Lautsprecher, über den der Muezzin übertragen wird, ist sehr nah an der Unterkunft - Ohrenstöpsel für die frühen Morgenstunden sind also empfehlenswert, wenn man seinem Ruf nicht folgen möchte :) Oder man gewöhnt sich einfach dran und schläft anschließend weiter!

Alam Karang est l'endroit idéal pour se ressourcer. Toute l'équipe est aux petits soins, les lumbungs où se trouvent les chambres sont jolis et agréables, la literie de qualité et les coraux sont littéralement en face du logement. Nous avons passé 3 nuits là et nous avons eu beaucoup de mal à en partir. La cuisine est très bonne et les hôtes font de leur mieux pour s'adapter à vos intolérances éventuelles. Nous vous recommandons la sortie snorkelling, Marie (avec qui nous sommes partis) ou son collègue connaissent les récifs de l'archipel sur le bout des doigts et vous partagent avec plaisir leur passion. On se sent là comme à la maison et nous y reviendrons !

Un petit paradis sur terre où l'on arrive en bateau directement car pas de voiture sur l'île. Marie et son équipe sont très accueillants et aux petits soins durant tout le séjour. Le bungalows est charmant, décoré avec goût, spacieux, avec une belle salle de bain. La literie est hyper confortable. Le site de snorkeling est juste devant. Endroit idéal pour déconnecter... Le choix pour le petit déjeuner est intéressant, il est délicieux, le resto propose une très bonne cuisine. Balade possible pour le tour de l'ile à pieds. Je recommande sans modération. Die Bungalows liegen direkt am Strand und sind super sauber und bestens ausgestattet. Alles ist den Bildern entsprechend. Marie und ihr Manager Dannie sind immer bemüht, erkundigen sich regelmäßig und gehen auf Wünsche ein. Marie hat eine Schnorcheltour mit zwei weiteren Gästen für mich organisiert, sodass wir uns die Kosten teilen konnten. Auch direkt vor der Hütte kann man bei Flut sehr gut schnorcheln, es gibt einiges zu sehen. Ich würde hier auf jeden Fall erneut buchen, habe mich zu jederzeit sicher und gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Vielen Dank Marie und Dannie!

An meinem letzten Tag wurde sehr viel Müll angespült. Das war nicht so schön während des schnorchelns. Das ist aber nicht der Anlage geschuldet, sondern leider ein ganz großes allgemeines Problem. Das war zum Teil erschreckend anzusehen. An der Anlage selber wird der Müll schnellstens weggeräumt, sodass es dort immer sauber ist.

This place is wonderful. Marie and her staff met us off the boat and were always ready to help us after that. (Marie even lent me her long sleeved swimsuit to cover my arms on our snorkelling trip.) We fully recommend this boat trip, by the way, which takes you to Gili Layar and Gili Rengit as well as the other side of Gili Gede. The fish , again , were fabulous and we even swam with turtles. Our accommodation was fantastic, right on the beach, a few steps away from the water where we snorkelled every day-incredible! The restaurant is set back a little way with a view of the water through the vibrant bouganvillaeas and frangipanis and the food is lovely and well priced for the island. Marie even has snorkelling equipment for you to borrow if you need it. Altogether we had a marvellous 7 night stay here and would fully recommend Alam Karang to any fellow travellers. Lovely bungalows on the beach. The owner could not have been more helpful. Organised a taxi pick-up from the airport and then boat to Gili Gede. We organised a snorkelling trip with them which was well worth doing, you were also able to snorkel off the beach. There was also a kayak to use which was great. Really lovely stay. It is good to take your own water container.

There is a bit of rubbish in the village and on the beaches. Alam Karang is proactive in minimising the rubbish.

Es war alles wunderbar: das Zimmer direkt am Strand, Frühstück, Abendessen, das Riff vor dem Haus, der unglaublich tolle Schnorchelausflug, das Personal und die sehr nette Chefin!

One of our favorite places we have stayed in Indonesia. The bungalows are beautifully built and the outdoor shower and bathroom are great. The location is excellent with snorkeling right off the beach. Nice loungers with umbrellas to chill out. The restaurant serves very delicious food with a lot of variety. Also good cocktails. Prices seemed quite reasonable. Marie the owner is an avid snorkeler and knows all of the unique species of fish and coral that you can see. You can walk the beach at low tide to explore the island but make sure you book a boat trip to the other side of Gili Gede and the other islands to see everything the area has to offer. This place really has it all with the nice beach front location, snorkeling in front, beautiful lodging and a great restaurant with a friendly and knowledgeable owner who is also active in keeping the reefs protected.

Everything, we had a wonderful time at Alam Karang. The location is perfect directly on the beach and we spent 4 days there just enjoyed the place itself. We ate as well every night there and the food are amazing. Most important, Marie and her team made us feel comfortable during our stay.

L’emplacement les pieds dans l’eau et le personnel très sympathique. Le restaurant de l’hôtel était très bon et les équipements de snorkeling sont compris dans la réservation. Je recommande fortement.

Mooie plek als een bounty island. De eigenaresse en haar medewerkers doen er alles aan om het je naar de zin te maken. Zeer zorgzaam en lief. Ze hebben zowel het vervoer bij aankomst op Gili Gede als vertrek geregeld. Jammer dat het weer niet echt meezat.

Enige opmerkingen zijn dat de badkamer af en toe sterk rook. Had ook het idee dat de vloer niet echt goed schoon te houden is. Gedoucht hebben we er niet omdat de straal minimaal was. Mogelijk komt dit door tijdelijke stroomuitval en watertoevoer. Ook het water in de wastafel was echt veel minder na grote stroomuitval i.v.m. noodweer.

Die Gastgeberin Marie ist sehr um ihre Gäste bemüht und hat uns auf einen tollen Schnorchelausflug begleitet. Das Essen ist sehr gut. Man hat das Kajak gratis ausleihen können und bei Ebbe am Strand entlang in den authentischen Fischerort laufen können. Wunderschöner Blick vom Bungalow direkt am Strand aufs Meer.

Der Strand ist bei Ebbe zum Schwimmen nicht so toll, aber es gibt ganz nah eine tiefere Stelle zum ins Wasser gehen.

Hotel stupendo immerso nel verde dell’isola di Gili Gede e direttamente sulla spiaggia. Dormire con il suono del mare è impagabile. Camera pulita, bagno molto ampio e originale. Ristorante ottimo dove la proprietaria Marie ha trovato il giusto equilibrio tra cibo tradizionale e francese. Tutto lo staff e Marie ti fanno sentire a casa. Consigliamo la gita in barca per fare Snorkling in presenza della proprietaria che ti trasmette tutto l’amore per questo mare.

Abbiamo avuto un piccolo problema con il condizionatore ma lo staff si è attivato immediatamente per risolverlo

I bungalow sono belli, comodi e pulitissimi, in una posizione unica, a poche bracciate a nuoto da una barriera corallina stupenda. Lo staff locale è gentilissimo e sempre molto disponibile.

La sera nella parte ristorante l’atmosfera può mettere un po’ a disagio perché capita di essere gli unici ospiti a cena

Hôtel très agréable à Gili Gede. Le personnel est disponible et très accueillant. Les repas sont bons . C'est un hôtel pour se déconnecter et profiter de la nature et du calme de l'île.

Molto rilassante, stupenda barriera corallina, bellissima escursione di snorkeling in barca con la proprietaria del resort molto appassionata che ci ha portato a vedere gli spot migliori per fauna e flora marina.

Forse poca varietà nel menù per la cena e la colazione (tutto gustoso), del resto è un isola con poche risorse quindi va benissimo.

Direkte Strandlage mit schönem Hausriff. In das Dorf muss man 10 min am Strand entlang laufen.

There are no words to describe this place.. the view and the cottage are amazing, in front of a wonderful beach. The staff is very efficient and polite, the owner is an incredible person ready to answer every question and request. The food is more over the avarage in Indonesia. A little paradise away from the crowd, if you want to relax and be happy near the sea this is the best place in Lombok

Comme plusieurs commentaires le soulignent déjà, Amal Karang est un petit paradis. L’accueil de Marie est au top. Des bungalows nichés sur une plage de sable blanc (presque déserte) très bien nettoyée, un petit snorkeling juste devant la plage, et une atmosphère très accueillante nous mettent dans les meilleures conditions. Gili Gede est une île hors des circuit touristique avec de très beaux snorkelings accessibles en bateau, qui vaut le détour.

Un véritable paradis sur terre ... Tout était parfait, l'accueil, la chambre toute équipée, la plage merveilleuse, la gentillesse de Marie et de tout son staff, la nourriture avec une touche française qui sublime les produits locaux, l'incroyable monde sous l'eau. Merci Marie pour votre accueil et pour ces jours paradisiaques

Absolument rien à signaler, tout est parfait

Logement confortable en bord de mer à l’autre bout du monde : beaux spots de snorkelling, parasol et transats privés sur la plage devant l’hôtel, magnifique lever de soleil depuis le lit

Restaurant un peu plus cher que les standards indonésiens, village accessible à une dizaine de minutes de marche le long de la plage (chemin non éclairé la nuit, penser à prendre une lampe torche)

Quasi les pieds dans l’eau ; l’île elle même; le logement fonctionnel ; le personnel ; la nourriture délicieuse - un délice à chaque plat ; les cocktails ; le petit dej au top avec le pain maison , brioche perdue ; crêpes …et Marie , sa gentillesse, sa bienveillance, son esprit de partage . Une très belle rencontre !!! Et sa passion pour l’île et ses fonds marins . La sortie en mer est à FAIRE !!

Tout parfait

Marie , la propriétaire fait réellement vivre cet endroit charmant et hors du commun. La nourriture est fabuleuse. L’hébergement est très confortable. Nous n’oublierons jamais les sorties en snorkeling avec Marie qui vous communique sa passion . Marie a su créer un paradis sur terre !
