The Bowers Bar & Restaurant

Friendly staff, nice food, central location and lots of parking in public car park across the road

The room was bigger than expected and very nice! The bar and restaurant were great! Loved the staff!

Nothing

The central location

The walls were a little thin, so you can hear your neighbours, but wasn't too much of a problem

Very good

All.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent.

Room was clean but all the fittings were well worn. No bath towel and the shower window leaked water to the floor. The decor is old. Sink shaving light not working

Lovely irish breakfast. Good coffee and friendly staff

Nothing

Great location, clean, good budget accomodation. Really delicious breakfast and the service was great.

Staff great friendly....

Very helpfull staff, clean facilities.

Breakfast at 9. However there is cattle, coffee and milk free in the room. If they add Jam &Butter then would be breakfast At rooom. I loved it and loved their restaurant

I liked the location and that there was breakfast included. It was clean and the single bed was comfortable.

I think it was overpriced at €130 for one night (Sunday) for a basic twin room, although it did include breakfast. The light through the window was bright first thing. There was some noise/music from outside in the morning. For the question below, I didn't have any expectations.

Friendly and helpful staff, clean and surprisingly quiet accommodation (it’s above a pub but the bar closes at 10pm), good value for money for b&b

It’s a bit outdated

Very Welcoming, great food, great price

It was all good

Miła obsługa, czysto. Pyszne śniadania . Dobra lokalizacja.

I needed to leave early in the morning so didn't have breakfast.

Quel dommage !

The location was good, with ample parking across the street. Bar staff were pleasant and friendly. The breakfast was very good, great coffee too and served by really pleasant staff.

First off, the place definitely needs a make over, it was scruffy, shabby and the carpet going up the stairs was pretty dirty. There are no lifts, so be prepared to haul your luggage up the steep stairs. The room was clean, but the bed pretty uncomfortable and the bathroom very old fashioned, water going everywhere when I showred, and the whole place in serious need of an upgrade. The view from my room was non existant.. my window opened out under an overhanging roof, which covered a beer garden and smoking area, it was pretty dirty looking, with no chance of getting fresh air into the room.. I ordered dinner, but try as I might, I failed to cut the steak, even with a steak knife. The price was taken off the bill, which I didn't expect but appreciated.

Lovely staff, very welcoming. Perfect location for where we needed to be. The car parking was also cheap and the food was great.

Great location and staff and food with best nights sleep in a long time

Staff helpful, location central, and breakfast excellent

Everything was fine

Great breakfast

Everything was good.

Great location, great food, ideal

Great place to spend a few nights and get away from city life.

It was clean and comfortable

The staff friendly and helpful

The bed was so uncomfortable also the shower not clean so didn’t use it

The price good breakfast

The double room was two single beds

Room too hot

breakfest was good but started very late in the morning

The bedroom was very small and it was the smallest double bed I ever saw it also had springs coming up very poor support and old. parking was paid parking across the road.

Staff

I enjoyed my stay, the room was nice and the breakfast was super. I tried the full Irish and the veggie breakfast and they both set me up for the day ahead

Staff were lovely. Breakfast was fantastic, delicious veggie breakfast .

Central

Comfortable and good food

Our room was nice and big. And you couldn’t hear anything from downstairs

Le restaurant, le personnel.

La literie, l insonorisation

Great breakfast, good location in the town.

Nothing.

The breakfas was lovely and locatuon was what it was.Anna is a lovely young woman, but the bed was really old, and uncomfortable,

Tha bed was really old and uncomfortable

Very good breakfast, friendly staff.

Nothing, all good.

Breakfast was very good. Sunday breakfast started later than we could stay so the staff made accommodation and left something for us the night before. Room had tea and coffee set ups.

Friendly staff, good breakfast and excellent restaurant

Maybe more flexibility with breakfast times would be great especially for visiting anglers.

Room excellent. Breakfast spot on, staff very helpful - highly recommend, will certainly stop again when back in area.

Nothing

Being charged for a breakfast but being told on checking in that there wouldn’t be one as on Sundays they didn’t start till 11am, Very basic room, staff not concerned with queries, bar shutting early.

Great spot

Bed was a little uncomfortable, and our neighbour was a very loud snorer. But would stay there again

The staff and owners were great. The food was amazing! Parking is across the street and less than a euro if you're just paying for the morning before you leave.

The bed was not comfy. We could feel the springs. Left the quilt on for more cush.

Wonderful food. Convenient location and parking.

The smell of the room and the mildew in the shower.

The breakfast was very good no complaints very friendly staff.

Have a fantastic time staff were very obliging the room was spacious beds so comfy would definitely recommend the Bowers to my friends and family to everyone I'll be returning again i the near future

Hospitality was first class

Having to leave such a lovely place :-))

The room was an adequate size but desperately needs updating especially the shower

The choice of food and breakfast timings were not suitable and nowhere to leave the key when we left the building

Friendly staff; great food

The staff.. Except the owner who did not want to know.

I stayed here for one night during a road trip and unfortunately the experience was mixed, with several issues that should be addressed. On arrival, I was initially given a room that did not match the one I had reserved. To their credit, when I raised this, staff responded and moved me to the correct room, which I appreciated. However, the condition of both rooms was below expected standards. There were clear cleanliness and maintenance issues, including black mould in the bathroom (window sill and ceiling), spider webs above the bed, and visible dirt and grime on fittings. The mattress was also very uncomfortable, with springs noticeable throughout the night. WiFi was another problem. Although it appeared to connect, there was often no actual internet access, both upstairs and even downstairs at times. This made the “smart TV” unusable and was frustrating, especially as there is limited mobile signal in the area. While the staff did make an effort to resolve the room allocation issue, the overall condition of the accommodation suggests a lack of consistent cleaning and maintenance. Given the location and potential of the property, this is disappointing. With better upkeep and reliable WiFi, this could be a much more enjoyable stay. Unfortunately, in its current state, I would not choose to stay here again.

Great host. Even if I couldn't stay for breakfast, he left for me scones and jam in my room. Rome was clean and ready for me before checking in:).

The first night was a little cold, but later on it was great and cozy.

Very clean and so comfortable. As I left early before breakfast each day the staff left a scone and jam for me. The location is excellent and I will definitely stay there again. Very good value. Fresh towels and a bottle of water left for me too. A relaxing stay.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Erinomainen aamupala
