Room was a lot smaller than others we've stayed in listed as same size. Could not get much water or pressure in shower.

Very clean, great location

It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The complimentary breakfast is ideal.

Das Haus liegt etwas außerhalb des Ortes an der Überlandstraße, aber sehr ruhig mit eigener Auffahrt. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und hat einige Gäste sogar vom Bahnhof abgeholt. Unser Raum und das Bad waren riesig, die Gemeinschaftsküche ist gut eingerichtet und man kann sehr entspannt im Garten sitzen.

Wir waren im Erdgeschoss und über uns waren auch Gäste, die man durch die Holzdecke gut hören konnte, was bei einem Altbau eben so der Fall ist. Sonst alles wirklich perfekt.

Lovely historic guesthouse, very comfortable beds.

My only comment is that some scones or croissants would be really nice accompaniments the yogurt and porridge that was available for breakfast.

This was a beautiful property both inside and out. The room was clean and well equipped with everything we needed for an overnight stay. Even though we ended up arriving much later than expected, the owner waited for us and gave us a little tour around the place, making sure we were comfortable :)

Everything was up to our expectations.

L’absence de petit déjeuner, il y avait une corbeille de fruits, des yaourts et du porridge lyophilisé en boîte à disposition dans le couloir. Nous n’avons eu aucun contact avec les hôtes si ce n’est un rapide accueil. J’admets avoir été déçue alors que les photos étaient prometteuses.

Fantastic place to stay, clean tidy lovely house, had a small issue that was entirely our own fault, and the staff went absolutely above and beyond to sort it for us ,,10 out of 10 definitely recommend it,,,we will be back

Wonderful stay in Friars Quarter house, lovely house and excellent service

From the start it was fantastic. Host was there to greet us and showed us everything. Was great at recommending things to do. House was exceptionally clean and comfortable. Breakfast wasn't included but there was complimentary fruit yougert and porridge there for breakfast. She couldn't have been nicer. Would highly recommend this place. 10 out of 10.

Convenience for what we needed

Our arrival was on time and we were warmly welcomed. Our room was available and as booked.

We did not appreciate that it was “bed only” , breakfast being “ ad hoc”, but adequate. This was due to our misunderstanding of Booking, com’s details on their site. A stronger typed message is needed in the description of the venue. That said, our stay was most satisfactory, we were well looked after, The shower was a bit feeble and could benefit from a pump boost.

Stunning property with wonderful hosts. So clean and comfortable-stunning country home. Orla made us feel so welcome. Fabulous sitting/ dining room and furnishings throughout

Website implies bed and breakfast, warm breakfast , all we had was oatmeal packets, yogurt and banana. Ballenrope was a disappointment, old town, a bit run down, restaurants close early. It was geographically convenient but that was not enough to overcome the negatives. Went to get groceries and the workers there were very rude. Had a whole different negative feel than the rest of our Ireland trip.

The only flaw with this B&B was no breakfast, although hostess left out things to eat each morning (yogurt, fruit, etc.). Rooms were fine, reception fine, friendliness of everyone perfect.

Our hostess was wearing a LA Lakers jersey when we arrived. We are Celtics fans!

I had a fantastic stay at Friars Quarter House, even though it was only for one night. Orla was an excellent host - very friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived. The room was clean, comfortable, and well presented, and the entire property was beautifully maintained and is located only 10 min walk from town. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others and would gladly stay again.

Beautifully decorated rooms and a lovely garden. A light breakfast of oats, yoghurt and fruit was complimentary. About a one kilometre easy walk into Ballinrobe for fabulous dinner at Piccolo Sofia.

Ensuite was pretty tight but ok for one night. The bed was a Double not Queen size. Luckily we had a separate single in the room so we used both beds.

I liked the location.

The host said hello to us and gave us a key when we arrived and then we never saw her again after having stayed 3 days. We knew that the breakfast would be put out on a table upstairs where the bedrooms were for us to help ourselves but the 'breakfast' consisted of cups of packaged yoghurt, a fruit bowl, cardboard cups of instant porridge, tea bags and instant coffee in the room. We ended up eating the yoghurt and fruit on the side of our beds. The room was cramped — no place to put the luggage. There was a common room downstairs but it felt abandoned and unwelcoming.

Stayed for 2 nights due to fishing trip. Accommodation was outstanding, very clean and warm. Would highly recommend. The owner Martin went over and beyond to ensure a great stay. Best accomodaion I ever stayed in. Definitely stay again if back in Ballinrobe

Unfortunately the breakfast portion was lacking . It was a poor substitute for what I've come to expect at Irish b and b s. Also I was not provided an en suite room

Das Badezimmer war in einem hygienisch schlechtem Zustand. Schimmel an der Dusche. Auch ein sehr schwacher Wasserdruck in der Dusche.

Quiet, clean, and lovely cosy furnished sitting room. Shared a bedroom with my adult daughter. Great chats on the stairs or in the hall with family members. We wondered into Balinrobe for an outstanding meal in O’Flaherty’s ( as recommended by hosts) and popped our heads into TO’Malley’s after expecting men in pints at the bar but more women then men on a night out with cocktails but still plenty of pint men at the bar. A great location to get to Cong Ashford Castle or keeping going for Westport.

Beautiful home and owners were friendly and helpful. Even though it didn't include breakfast they did supply, fresh fruit, yogurt and oatmeal for everyone. Beds were comfy.

Location was perfect for what we needed.

Whilst the accommodation was comfortanle it was a little dated and quite noisy as there was a bathroom right next door to our room and other guests were up and down to the wc through the night and some had very early showers which woke us up. There was also the position of where the breakfast was left for peiple to take as required to eat in their rooms and which was also located directly outside our room leading to other unnecessaey noise. The toilet and sink in our ensuite were unusually low abd ked to a few head bumps from the shelf above.

Really cosy B&B We were arriving at an inconvenient time but provisions were made.. all good

Excellent comfy, clean and convenient place to stay. Loved the character of the building also and well kept interior and exterior. Walking distance from Ballinrobe. Really appreciated very easy check in!

Comfortable B&B, just a short drive from the Balintober abbey and the picturesque town of Cong.

The host was very warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Great location, clean and comfortable.
