Accueil était génial, très à l’écoute, nous a aidé à continuer à faire notre voyage. La chambre est spacieuse avec la clim et une moustiquaire, eau, chaude, toilette et grand lit. Nous sommes à 10 minutes du centre et 15 minutes en tuktuk des temples à voir !

Absolute Empfehlung diese Unterkunft. Der Gastgeber Johnny & seine Frau sind so unglaublich freundlich und konnte uns sehr viel über Sri Lanka und die Geschichte erzählen. Das Frühstück ist sehr vielfältig und es gab jeden Tag neue sri lankische Köstlichkeiten zum Probieren. Die Zimmer waren blitzeblank sauber und mit einem TukTuk kamen wir überall sehr gut hin. Sehr authentischer Homestay und wir können ihn uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Il proprietario e sua moglie sono davvero due persone squisite, molto dolci premurose e accoglienti. Lui è addirittura andato a comprarci delle birre appena siamo arrivati. La struttura è senz’altro molto modesta e la camera spartana ma pulita. Si trova un po’ fuori dalla città in un contesto residenziale, ma con il tuk tuk si va facilmente dappertutto. La colazione è varia e abbondante.

La cosa che più mi è mancata è avere delle luci più calde e soffuse, magari un comodino con una lampada calda, c’era soltanto una luce centrale al neon ed è senz’altro poco rilassante.

Nous avons passé un séjour incroyable ici et nous n'aurions vraiment pas pu rêver d'un meilleur hôte. Janaka nous a fait sentir les bienvenus dès notre arrivée et a toujours été d'une immense gentillesse, disponible et attentif à ce que notre séjour soit le plus agréable possible. La chambre était spacieuse, très confortable, parfaitement propre, et la climatisation ainsi que le Wi-Fi fonctionnaient parfaitement tout au long de notre séjour. Tout était exactement conforme à la description. Ce qui a rendu cet endroit si spécial, c'est avant tout Janaka. Il était toujours prêt à nous aider, que ce soit pour les transports, les restaurants ou l'organisation d'activités. Nous avons également passé de longs moments à discuter avec lui, et c'était un vrai plaisir d'en apprendre davantage sur le Sri Lanka, sa culture et son mode de vie grâce à nos échanges. Il nous proposait régulièrement une tasse de thé, ce qui nous a vraiment fait nous sentir comme à la maison. Nous avons demandé à Janaka s'il pouvait nous préparer les petits-déjeuners pendant notre séjour et nous faire découvrir des spécialités sri-lankaises. Chaque matin, il nous a régalés avec une sélection différente de plats traditionnels, accompagnés de fruits frais et d'eau. Tout était absolument délicieux, les portions étaient très généreuses, et nous avons adoré découvrir de nouvelles saveurs chaque jour. C'est rapidement devenu l'un des meilleurs moments de notre séjour. Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans cette guest house et nous repartons avec d'excellents souvenirs. Nous recommandons cet établissement les yeux fermés à toute personne de passage dans la région !

I had booked this property just to meet the amazing host mentioned in other reviews, and boy was i so happy i did. My journey to Anuradhapura was a rather exhaustive day, as i had travelled from Mt. Lavinia after a very tiring scuba experience. I reached there late in the night after covering Ruwanmeli Saya, probably around 1030PM in the night. Coming to the property, the location is exact and hopefully your driver can spot it easily, as it is like any other normal homes in the surroundings. I was greeted by the most lovely host, a kind, smiling, well-spoken elderly gentleman, who had the most charming nature. He was well-versed with local sri lankan culture, accommodating us in their large hall room, with excellent furniture, and speaking to us about the local public and culture. He stayed up till late in the night, with not an ounce of tiredness. That is kind of hard to comeby in this hotel business, as most people vanish after the checkin. He gave us some hot tea. And after enquiring about our early morning checkout for the Wilpattu safari, he made sure arrangements for a takeaway breakfast were made. Our driver was happy too, as there is a room on the outside for them to stay. There is a lawn area. The room was spacious with mosquito nets, and perfect air conditioning. All in all, in your travel, Once you come towards Anuradhapura, amidst this rural quiet town, if you want an authentic Sri Lankan homestay experience, and interaction with a genuine, patient sri lankan host, this place and its host live upto the reputation of the reviews provided.

The place was clean and quiet as I expected. The owner was very healpful and friendly.

We didnt take meals from them. It was a fair deal for the price. But I reserved the place with the information posted that the distance from the ruwanwally saaya to this location is 4.5km. But it turned out to be more than 8 km. The appearance can get improved. Good to have side tables for the bed.

Quizás lo que nos falló un poco es la distancia, ya que está bastante lejos de la ciudad y para ir a cenar está todo muy oscuro, aún así cenamos en un resort que quedaba a 5min andando y súper bien (barato y bueno)

Los anfitriones. Él está siempre dispuesto a ayudar en todo, cualquier duda sobre turismo, transportes o del país en general, incluso a ser traductor de conductor de tuktuk. Su mujer es súper atenta y prepara un desayuno típico y muy rico (cuidado que el bollo pica! ). Siempre con una sonrisa, fue una maravilla alojarnos aquí.

Todo estuvo perfecto. Lo único que no hay agua caliente, a nosotros no nos importó porque era verano y hacia calor.

La amabilidad del propietario y su familia, increíble. Siempre queriendo complacernos en todo. Nos arregló la visita a la reserva de Wilpattu completamente, a precio correcto. Nos dio consejos, nos consiguió un guía para visitar los templos de Anuradhapura que hablaba muy bien inglés y que nos gustó mucho. La habitación limpia y cómoda, con Mosquiteras y aire acondicionado.

El desayuno es un poco caro para lo que es.

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt in diesem Guesthouse. Die Besitzer sind total freundlich und sehr hilfsbereits. Wir haben uns von anfang an sehr willkommen gefühlt. Das Bett war sehr bequem, die AC gut und man hat einen eigenen kleinen Balkon. Der Besitzer hat uns sogar eine Durian gekauft, als wir erzählt haben, dass wir die Frucht noch nie probiert haben. Das war super lieb und ein ganz besonderer Moment auf unserer Reise durch Sri Lanka.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cette belle guesthouse Le propriétaire est très sympa et arrangeant, nous avons pu louer des vélos pour la visite des temples et il nous a organisé un safari à Wilpattu avec le meilleur chauffeur ! C'est un peu isolé du centre mais il y a la possibilité de se restaurer sur place et il y a un restaurant très sympa au bord du lac à 200 mètres On recommande les yeux fermés

De gastvrijheid van de host was fenomenaal. Een hele lieve man en vrouw. Ze staan meteen voor je klaar als je ze nodig hebt. De airco werkte goed en het was een fijn en ruim bed. De douche werkte ook goed.

Op de kamer hadden we graag een extra kast en/of nachtkastjes gehad. We moesten nu de spullen op de grond leggen. De douche had geen afscheiding door middel van een douchegordijn, dus werd de wc steeds erg nat. Echter viel ons op dat veel accomodaties dit zo hebben, dus ik denk dat het iets is dat een beetje zo hoort in Sri Lanka.

Erg warme ontvangst door de host. Hij vertelt je graag over de omgeving en Sri Lanka en helpt je graag. We hebben leuke gesprekken gehad. We konden de fietsen van hen gebruiken om naar het oude deel van de stad te fietsen, prima te doen. Er is airco en een prima douche. De kamer is schoon en het ontbijt is uitgebreid en lekker. Erg genoten van dit verblijf! We zouden het zeker aanbevelen.

De gastheer en vrouw zijn bijzonder vriendelijk en gastvrij. Zij geven goede tips en regelen vervoer voor je. Wij hebben er ook heerlijk gegeten toen zij een maaltijd voor ons bereidde met zeer veel gerechtjes. Ook het ontbijt is prima.

De accommodatie ligt wat ver van de bezienswaardigheden, al is dit door een tuktuk goed te ondervangen.

La famiglia é stata molto accogliente nei nostri confronti, forse ció che abbiamo apprezzato di più. Gentili, disponibili, sorridenti e davvero amorevoli. La colazione é stata la migliore di tutta la vacanza, con dolci sri lankesi, eggs e frutta fresca, tutti prodotti del giardino della famiglia. Consigliatissimo per una esperienza molto vera.

La struttura non si trova in centro ma é stata premura della famiglia accompagnarci al ristorante più vicino per la cena. (5 minuti a piedi)

Établissement au calme, un peu en retrait de la ville. Johnny et sa femme ont à coeur de tout faire pour ses hôtes, chambre agréable lit très grand et très confortable, petit déjeuner complet et très copieux . Nous avons demandé à Jonny de nous réserver tuk tuk taxi pour un prix très correct. Il a toujours plaisir à parler de son pays et de sa culture, c'est super intéressant. Nous nous sommes sentis un peu comme à la maison. Nous recommandons cet établissement.

Super nette Gastgeber. Wir kamen ziemlich spät an und wurden dann noch hervorragend bekocht. Das Frühstück war ebenfalls sehr abwechslungsreich und lecker. Die Gastgeber geben viele Tipps und organisieren gerne auch Safaris, Fahrer usw. Sehr guter Ausgangspunkt um die Stadt zu erkunden.

This accommodation was amazing. The landlord very friendly and talkative, he told us many interesting things about Sri Lanka, its people and history. He arranged for a tuk tuk for the next day which took us to all the historic sights in Anuradhapura and later in Mihintale, the tuk tuk driver was also a kind of a guide, was able to tell us many things about the places visited and always recommended a good restaurant just accordiong to our wishes. The place is in a quiet neighbourhood.

Jonny's customer service was exceptional. When we arrived, the room booked for us had a water issue due to heavy rains. He offered us another room but there was only a double in it. We had requested 2 beds. However, Jonny brought in a single bed and it worked perfectly. I highly recommend this accommodation.

The hosters were extremely friendly, attentive, and kind with us, the price is more than acceptable for the service, all of the family was here to help us to have a nice moment, we are very thankful for their sens of welcoming. Do not hesitate to come there !!!!

Hele fijne, schone kamers. Supervriendelijke host en z’n vrouw, die altijd klaar stonden en waarmee je leuk kon praten. Echt een aanrader!

Die Gastgeber sind super freundlich. Man ihnen hatte man tolle Gespräche. Das Essen war der Hammer! Bei unserer Ankunft am Abend, hat uns die Gastgeberin direkt ein Abendessen gekocht. Das Frühstück war sehr abwechslungsreich und reichhaltig. Auf Wunsch organisierte uns der Gastgeber auch einen Tuktuk-Fahrer, der uns die Stadt gezeigt hat. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Die Unterkunft ist etwas außerhalb vom Zentrum, jedoch mit dem Tuktuk gut zu erreichen.

Des hôtes d’une gentillesse exceptionnelle, toujours aux petits soins, un délicieux petit-déjeuner et dîner, ainsi qu’une chambre spacieuse pour un séjour parfait !

Die Unterkunft liegt sehr ruhig aber weiter weg vom Stadtzentrum. TukTuk hat 500 Rupien gekostet. Toller Empfang mit Tee. Wir hatten ein kleines Zimmer im EG was für eine Nacht mehr als ausreichend war. Im Zimmer selber war alles vorhanden und es war sauber. Die Besitzer sind sehr nette Menschen und wir haben uns absolut wohl gefühlt. Wir haben ein Tagesausflug mit einem TukTuk für 4.000 Rupien gemacht und fanden das sehr gut um die Stadt kennenzulernen. Der Fahrer hat uns noch ein take away für den Abend besorgt und uns alle wünsche erfüllt. Frühstück war lecker und ausreichend. Die Verabschiedung sehr herzlich.

Im EG war es abends ein wenig laut, weil andere Gäste lauter waren. Ging aber nur bis 21:30 Uhr. War für uns aber nicht schlimm.

Meneer Janaka en zijn vrouw zijn de meest vriendelijke mensen die je kunt treffen. Vanaf het moment van binnenkomst werden we zo hartelijk ontvangen. Niks was hen teveel en ze helpen met alles.

Super vriendelijke hosts die je graag meer vertellen over de omgeving en altijd voor je klaarstaan.

We verbleven hier 2 nachten en het beviel ons uitstekend. De eigenaar en zijn vrouw waren uiterst vriendelijk en hebben ons met van alles geholpen. Niets was teveel voor hen. We hebben fietsen gehuurd van ze en een heerlijk huisgemaakte curry gegeten een avond. Perfecte wifi en een goed werkende airconditioning!

We hebben een heel fijn verblijf gehad bij Treasure House Tourist Rest. De eigenaren waren heel erg vriendelijk en deden er alles aan om ervoor te zorgen dat er niks ontbrak. Er werden meerdere lekkere en vers gekookte avondmaaltijden voor ons gemaakt en ook het ontbijt was zeer goed.

The home stay is nice and clean. I could also have breakfast and rent a bicycle (against a small fee)

I booked a tour to Wilpattu with the homestay and I paid double the price. The jeep was 12000 and I was alone, so I knew it would be more expensive. But I met other people that did the full day tour for 65 euros or at least 100 euros a day. I only had a half day tour so I got clearly ripped off ! I don't appreciate the owner being so dishonest

Problemas con el agua caliente

Mr Janaka und seine Familie sind sehr liebe Gastgeber die Spaß daran haben Urlaubern ihre schöne Heimat näher zu bringen. Man ist immer bereit für ein Gespräch und bekommt gute Tipps. Klima funktioniert einwandfrei, Zimmer sind sauber. Aufenthalt empfehlenswert.

Schöne ruhige Lage am Rand der Stadt. Das Zimmer in der 1.Etage war geräumig, mit gutem Bad und kleinem Balkon, von dem man die Vögel etc beobachten konnte. In dem Zimmer unten neben dem Gemeinschafts- Frühstücksraum hört man bei früher An-Abreise eher die Geräusche. Matratzen und Kopfkissen waren gut und bequem. Frühstück war auch jeden Tag anders und abwechslungsreich. Sehr, sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Er hat uns einen privaten Guide für die antike Stadt vermittelt, der nicht nur sehr gut Englisch sprach, sondern uns viele interessante Infos geben konnte. Parkplatzmöglichkeit im Hof.

El matrimonio que nos atendió es SÚPER atento y amable. La habitación estaba muy limpia y puedes desayunar, comer y cenar allí, tiene todo tipo de facilidades como adaptadores para enchufes, agua, bicis, motos, todo todo. Muy cerca de un lago enorme para ver naturaleza.

Ya lo pone al reservar, está algo lejos del centro. Pero con un Tuk Tuk todo solucionado, merece la pena la tranquilidad y el conocer a ese matrimonio tan agradable

Nice basic accomodation with very friendly staff

We had a very pleasant stay at Treasure House Tourist Rest. The accomodation had everything we Needed and the owners are so kind. They told us so much about Anaradhapura and it’s history. They helped us find our transportation, gave is the most delicious curry’s and were so friendly. Thank you so much for having us. Definitely recommended!

For is there were no downsides to this accomodation.

We felt very welcomed by the whole family at Treasure House, the breakfast was plentiful and delicious, the room was comfortable, and sitting out on the balcony in the morning was so peaceful, it was lovely. Plus, the air-conditioning was excellent!

De host van het guest house was Johnny. Oprecht de aardigste man die ik ooit heb leren kennen, kon alleen maar lachen. Hij hielp ons met onze kapotte TukTuk, bood de goedkoopste Wilpattu safari tour aan ons aan met een geweldige tour guide en stond dag en nacht paraat om met ons een praatje te maken of ons te vertellen over de geweldige stad. La habitación tiene todo lo que necesitas para dormir cómodamente. La cama es extra grande y comodisima y la habitación está limpia. Además tienen mosquitera y aire acondicionado que funcionaba muy bien así como el wifi. Janaka y su mujer son súper hospitalarios. Janaka habla perfectamente inglés y fue súper fácil entendernos con el. Era nuestra primera estancia de la isla y nos contó muchísimas cosas de su cultura y su forma de vivir.
