Das Frühstück war sehr gut und üppig. Fantastische und sehr gesunde lokale Spezialitäten, die ich teils nur dort genossen habe. Viele gute Tipps zur Erkundung von Anuradhapura und Mihintale sowie dem Wilpattu Nationalpark gibt es auch. Einfach ein schöner und ruhiger Aufenthalt - perfekter Ort zum Entspannen nach einem Tag voller Eindrücke. Das Zimmer war super - genug Ablageflächen, ein sehr bequemes Bett und eine Klimaanlage die leise arbeitet und mit der man wunderbar schlafen kann. Eine sehr empfehlenswerte Unterkunft!

Nice spread of breakfast, wonderful host where they make you feel at home. Easy access to temples. Welcomes us with a nice pot of hot srilanka tea. Helpful to arrange any tour or assist us on pilgrims information and our journey. Clean toilet and rooms. Definitely I would stay here again on my next pilgrim visit. 💓

Shehan and his wife were wonderfully helpful. I truly appreciated their kindness. Breakast was varied, plentiful and delicious. The bed was comfortable, the room big and quiet. Plenty of storage space.

I would stay here again for the breakfast alone, wow! After staying in Sri Lanka for three weeks I can say this was our best breakfast we have had. Besides this, the family running it is super friendly and helpful, giving us a lot of tips and recommendations. The room was spacious and clean.

Owners are absolutely lovely and make you feel very comfortable. They are flexible when it comes to adjusting to your wishes and help you with any information you need. The breakfast is very good and nice to try local dishes as well. The whole place has a very nice vibe, I'd definitely stay there again :)

The pressure of the shower is low. It would be great to put some Shampoo in there as well but this is not Sri Lankan standard as far as I experienced. Would be a nice add on though. And the corners of the ceiling in the bathroom should be cleaned since there are some tiny spider webs.

Family run business, owners are doing everything for making your stay as mach confortabile they can. Room clean and comfy, enough hot water to get a good long shower, good dinner and breakfast: the cook is just amazing!

The only downside was that the mosquito net had several small holes, which could be improved for a more comfortable night’s sleep. Overall, it was a Great experience would highly recommend staying here!l

Anuradhapura was the best place in Sri Lanka for me. I enjoyed my time at Saubagya.

The room is big and SUPER clean. The bed is very comfortable. The patio is beautiful and full of plants. The breakfast (you can add it) is the best breakfast I have ever had in my entire life!!! The accommodation is managed by the lovely family. Mr. Shehan and Mrs. Sri were always willing to help, they are adorable. They also helped me to arrange a tuk tuk to the old city, which I highly recommend because he gave me a lot of information, Nishanta is his name. I would definitely come back a thousand times… thank you for everything ♥️

We really enjoyed our stay at Saubagya Inn. Our host Shehan and his family are lovely. Shehan is an honest and kind man. He provided us with information about the local area, activities and tours. He has a few bikes for hire if you prefer to cycle the old city of Anuradhapura. Shehan also organised a driver to meet us at the airport. The breakfasts were great, generous and delicious. I especially enjoyed the fresh mango from the tree in his garden. The room was comfy, with A/C and hot shower. Would certainly stay again when back in Anuradhapura.

Bedroom is very comfy, super bathroom with a lot of water pression They welcomed us with a tea and homemade biscuits ! Great value for money. Rooms were clean and comfortable beds. The family running the hostel were lovely and very helpful. Greeted us with a welcome cup of tea on arrival and organised a tuk tuk tour to see the ancient city. Would definitely recommend staying here!

- Adorable, thoughtful and highly welcoming owners doing their best to help with anything you may need. They arranged a tuk-tuk drive so I could visit the city and my guide really was the best too, then they arranged a taxi drive to Trincomalee at a great price with a very sympathetic and knowledgeable driver as well. - Great location and good recommendations/directions by Shehan (the owner) for places to have food/a juice by a beautiful lake, for example. - Spent some time with Shehan's wife and their son and really felt at home with them. They offered me some tea and we had some nice conversations. - Good bedroom and even could use an adaptor and mosquito repellent put at the customers' disposal in it.

Very friendly and helpful couple who run the place. The breakfast (extra charge) is amazing! It’s in a quiet, green location but not too far away from places to visit and it’s near the lake. The room was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

The only thing I didn’t like was that I booked a tuk tuk tour through the hotel and the driver was very uninterested and didn’t want to give out any information about the places on the tour. So I had no clue about the places we stopped at or what to look for at each location. The following day I booked my own tuk tuk tour privately with a different driver and it was much better and less money also.

The family running this guesthouse are the most welcoming and helpful hosts who made exploring Anuradhapura very easy and enjoyable for us. On the day we arrived, Shehan went through the paid and free ancient sites we could visit as well as the transport options which allowed us to plan a lovey 2-day sightseeing itinerary. Their tuk tuk tours were very good value and we appreciated Shehan’s suggestion to visit some of the sites after dark as it was a magical experience. We were able to pre-order breakfast which each morning was a true feast, with different Sri Lankan specialities every day. Allow an hour to fully enjoy it! Our room was very spacious, comfortable, absolutely spotless and nicely furnished - it had everything we needed for a relaxing 3 night stay. There’s an excellent local eatery just around the corner serving delicious and very cheap rice curries and rotis, including veggie options. The hosts were always available to answer questions, either in person and via WhatsApp, and told us which bus to take for our onward journey. They also did our laundry. Thank you again for the lovely stay!

The staff were wonderful, my partner had food poisoning from earlier in the trip and they were very lovely and accommodating throughout the stay. The facilities were very clean and the stay was lovely.

We had a super chef breakfast, prepared with care and healthy ingredients. We had a warm hospitality by very kind hosts. They explain us the typical dishes puttng in contact with the excellent culture of Sri Lanka.

Shehan, his wife and young son make Saubagya Inn an excellent choice for a stay at Anuradhapura. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable, the bathroom good and the a/c worked well in the hot weather when I stayed. The Guesthouse was about around 40 years ago and with a large, covered veranda makes for very relaxing ‘down time’. Shehan speaks good English and is trained and trains in hospitality. Shehan also gave me some excellent advice on how best to tackle the large, formidable Ancient City (two long half days worked well – tip do some research before you arrive) which is located 3kms away. A nearby casual restaurant made for good dinner options, with the many of the dishes freshly cooked on order and run by friendly people. Shehan also linked me to Chelsea, a friendly, knowledgeable and reliable driver who provided very good service. My stay at Saubagya Inn lifted my experience of the Ancient City, and Anuradhapura to a high level. Shehan also runs a second property, with a larger number of rooms and nearer the Ancient City (Experience HUT Holiday Inn) but I especially enjoyed Saubagya Inn.

Shehan and his family are very hospitable, nothing is a chore for them. Well positioned and a great food place just around the corner. Breakfast was great and filling.Setting you up for a great day of sightseeing. Wished we had a couple of extra days there. Will be back again.

Amazing homestay with a wonderful family! If you are looking for a fancy spa and expensive restaurants - don't come here. If you want to experience the local hospitality and "become a family member" for a couple of days, that's the place you are looking for! One of the best experience in Sri Lanka was to stay with this beautiful family! Also, don't miss out on the breakfast, it's unbelievable!

This place has everything you need, even an adapter for charging your phone. The hosts are very friendly, gave a lot of info about visiting the temple complex and you can even rent a bicycle. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious, a mix of local and continental food. A lot of thought has been put into making this beautiful place, nothing is missing. There is a garden also and lots of plants. You won't feel cramped here, the rooms are very spacious and also clean.

It’s so clean and comfortable, the location is good, the owners are so helpful and polite. I can understand now why many reviews saying it’s the best stay in Sri Lanka, I will definitely book here again when I come back

Great stay in a calm environment. The staff could fix everything with sightseeing, etc. One block walk to the Local and English speaking restaurant Lulu Buffet.

The familiy was really helpful and friendly. They organised tours for us and reacted directly of problems. The Tuk Tuk driver Bass they organised for us where so friendly and explained a lot. We like all of them really much. The bed was clean and except the insects everything as well.

In our room there were a lot of insects. We had a big cockroaches problem and lots of big ants and mosquitoes. They tried their really best to fix the problem, but the chemicals helped only shortly. Hope they can fix it soon!

Every offer, such as accommodation cost, Tuktuk fee going around ancient city, taxi from airport, are very reasonable that is well-considered for tourist to spend not too much money. The stay here was wonderful! It is in a great central location and nearby shops and restaurants. The hosts are very friendly and sweet, making the experience even better. They also are helpful for recommendations for the city, nearby places to visit, and transportation options. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone coming to Anuradhapura!

The family is very nice. The owner sat down with me and told me about every temple in the area and gave me some great tips. He adviced me not to pay the high entrance fee for the old town but to go to other temples and i am very glad i did that. But even when he told me that, he made sure that whatever i choose is okay. He gives genuine advice and is not pushy at all. The tuktuk driver that went around with me was also a very nice guy. He is so far the best tuktuk driver i witnessed in my 2 weeks here. The rest of the family is lovely as well. When there was a local ritual going on somewhere in the street she explained it to me and later on made sure i didnt miss the chance to witness it. She took me with the rest of the family to get the food and it still amazes me how lovely everyone was. The room and the location are good as well. Very spacious and clean!

The room has more space. Very neat. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. Gave useful travel information and even arranged a vehicle for a long trip. I would recommend this if you need a place to rest for a reasonable price.

It's a little bit far from the railway station, old city and even new city (centre). Sometimes, tuktuk drivers are confused about finding the place.

Nice host family, they provided helpful informations for visiting the sacred city and I could rent a bike there. Very nice breakfast, with also local dishes. Some restaurants nearby. Bigger Supermarket around 15' walk. Good Room with AC/fan. My room was a little bit dark. Quiet place, hot shower.

I immediately felt at home at the Saubagya Inn. Shehan is very nice and really helped me with all my requests (organizing tours, SIM card etc.). The rooms are very big and the bed was very comfortable. The location is also very good and within walking distance there is a pharmacy, restaurants and a supermarket.
