The breakfast was very nice, what I also loved the most was the cappuccino

It is old and worn and it was a bit dusty. The furniture in the room is old and dark which we did not like.

This is a lovely hotel that we've stayed at before. Our host was friendly and helpful. Lovely courtyard room.

There was limited parking at the hotel. I had to walk across the road away from the hotel to park my car. This was so inconvenient and unsafe.The beds were very hard. The room we stayed was outdated. There was loud noise from music from a nearby pub during our stay from Thursday to Sunday. The noise would only end around 2am.

Breakfast is OK, came a little cold, but the staff are extremely enthusiastic, and very willing to help, they make the stay a pleasure. It is my second stay, and I will stay again, Log fires in the evening and at breakfast when it is chilly. The staff bend over backwards to help. Good linen, good thick, clean towels, comfortable beds, 24 hour concierge - what's not to like? Good value.

No hooks in the bathroom to hang your clothes, adding two hooks to the door would be a game changer.

Only one lady working on 09/07/26 afternoon shift was kind. The staff for the 10th morning was the worst I have ever met in my travel life. Very unfriendly ang arrogant. The food was so bad .

Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were always on duty and very helpful. The wood burning fireplace in the lounge was an added bonus, and the suite was large and comfortable.

There was unfortunately no bottled drinking water in the room, and the TV channel selection was very basic.

Lack of bath soaps and hand creams you'd get in a Standard boutique hotel. Bath tub and shower had a bit of an issue

I am a JRR Tolkien fan and whenever I am in Bloemfontein the Hobbit Hotel is my place to stay. I just love how this little gem of a place uses the story theme to enhance the overall ambiance of the place.

I cannot say there was anything I did not like. Everything was in my books likable.

There is a nightclub “Chicago” around the corner of Hobbit Hotel which is also owned by the Hobbit Hotel owner, the people party until 4.30am + and the noise, rubbish, disturbance and lack of safety in the area has been promoted by the owner. It seems to me that this lawless society is a norm to the owner. The permanent residents of the area should be suing the owner for the situation at hand.

Het ontbijt was helemaal goed . De kamer heel rustig en een heel vriendelijke ontvangst. Jammer dat we niet ter plaatse konden eten maar het restaurant om de hoek dat ons werd aanbevolen was helemaal top.

This is NOT what we expected from a “boutique” hotel and ESPECIALLY the birthplace of Tolkien. When we arrived it was like walking into a Shebeen with a braai going on outside and many rowdy drinking guests.

see above and the “garden” has no grass whatsoever so to call the place Pet Friendly and then charge R100 per dog was unacceptable. Where are the pets supposed to do a wee? The garden is completely overgrown and a mess and the pool is not clean. When I booked I asked if there was a restaurant in the hotel where we could have dinner and I was told yes. However, dinner comes as a take-away from around the corner! The disappointment in this stay was extreme.

1)Booked a room with DSTV so could watch SA20 cricket qualifier. TV reception was very poor. Staff could not resolve the problem. 2) Bedside light was faulty.

Well, im a huge hobbit/LOTR fan, so the idea of staying in a hotel dedicated to them was amazing. Hotel is in a great location and has great food places nearby Staff are friendly and Hotel is clean

Мы приехали в 3 ночи, о чем заранее предупредили отель. В итоге на входе ждал номер телефона, куда нужно было позвонить по обычной сотовой связи. Нужно иметь ввиду, что у иностранных туристов не всегда есть связь. И в лучшем случае нужно давать им возможность связываться через интернет. Позвонить было проблематично и дорого. Еще я плохо говорю по - английски, поэтому звонок по телефону это было испытание.

The hotel has beautiful aesthetics with a charming vintage feel. We truly enjoyed the thoughtful Hobbit and Lord of the Rings touches throughout the property, including the character displays for each room and books, which added a unique and magical atmosphere to the stay. The pool area was also a highlight, and my son especially enjoyed spending time there.

The upper-floor room was quite hot during this time of year (during the day), possibly due to sun exposure. The air conditioning struggled to cool the room sufficiently, so we found some relief by spending time at the pool area. We also experienced an issue with the shower drainage, as the water drained very slowly, which made showering a bit uncomfortable. It may be worth considering a review of the air conditioning in the upper room and the shower drainage, as these minor improvements could further enhance guest comfort. I also would have appreciated being asked at check-out how my stay was, as it would have been a good opportunity to share this feedback directly.

Didnt sat, as booked room was inexistant. Deceitful; i refused to stay when booked room parameters were not provided. Tried to cancel, but system didnt allow it. Si i had to pay a deceitful property, when same night late i had to fund a substitutz

The "Hobbit Theme" is a little skimpy and underwhelming. The Hotel seems quite old and in need of a little "tlc" Rooms 13 & 14 are very basic with not much being attractive.

We stopped for a night to rest and continue our journey in the morning. From what we could see, it was an excellent solution. The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly.

the location was very central with easy access to restaurants and convenience stores. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Their manager was extremely helpful and she went out of her way to assist with everything we needed.

A comfortable overnight stay with a friendly receptionist. A fun nod to Tolkien with the art and each room being named after a character. We stayed in rooms 13 and 14 which have a lovely joined verandah it was our 3rd stay.

As the water is not recommended for drinking, the hotel could place a complimentary bottle in each room.
