We stayed here for our safari trip to Yala National Park which we booked through the hotel.the trip was great and we saw a lot of animals including leopards! The accommodation was a lovely calming place and the staff were very attentive I would definitely stay again

Krásné prostředí, měli jsme pokoj s terasou, vedlé které rostly velké mango stromy. Bohužel nebyla zrovna sezóna manga. Majitel Pubudu nám zajistil velmi chutnou večeři, s tolika chody, že jsme nemohli sníst! Snídani jsme měli formou balíčku, který jsme si vzali s sebou an Safari v NP Yala.

Jedině snad to, že nás u večeře doprovázela místní dotěrná kočka.

Der Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel sowie die darüber gebuchte Safari waren insgesamt eine der schlechtesten Reiseerfahrungen überhaupt. Hotel & Lage Das Hotel war deutlich schlechter gelegen als auf den Bildern dargestellt. Direkt unter den Zimmern wurde – wie lokal üblich – mit Holz gekocht bzw. Feuer betrieben, wodurch permanent Rauch in unser Zimmer gezogen ist. Ein Lüften war kaum möglich. Zusätzlich hat der Kühlschrank im Zimmer extrem stark nach Schimmel und Verwesung gerochen, sodass sich ein dauerhafter unangenehmer Gestank im gesamten Raum verbreitet hat. Essen im Hotel Am Abend konnten wir über das Hotel Essen bestellen. Die Preise lagen über dem üblichen Niveau in Sri Lanka, die Qualität war jedoch völlig inakzeptabel. • Wartezeit: über 90 Minuten • Mehrfaches Nachfragen notwendig • Essen kam halb kalt an • Pommes komplett weich • Chicken Chop Suey schmeckte eindeutig nach mehrfach aufgewärmtem Essen Nach einer langen Anreise war dies besonders enttäuschend. Organisation der Safari Die vom Hotel organisierte Safari wurde offenbar von einem Bekannten oder Familienmitglied durchgeführt. Rückblickend entsteht klar der Eindruck eines überteuerten und schlecht organisierten Angebots. • Preis: 50.000 Rupien, vollständige Barzahlung wurde überraschend vor Abfahrt verlangt • Start um 4:30 Uhr morgens, obwohl der Nationalpark erst um 6:00 Uhr öffnet • Fahrer musste zunächst tanken, da das Fahrzeug nicht vorbereitet war • Sehr langsame Fahrt (teilweise ca. 20 km/h außerhalb des Parks) • Über 20 Jeeps haben uns überholt Im Park selbst zeigte sich, dass der Fahrer offensichtlich keinerlei Erfahrung hatte. • Wir waren dauerhaft das letzte Fahrzeug in der Kolonne • Keine gezielte Suche nach Tieren • Fahrer folgte lediglich anderen Jeeps • Kaum Stopps zur Tierbeobachtung • Insgesamt praktisch keine Tiere gesehen Nach mehreren zuvor durchgeführten Safaris in Sri Lanka war dies mit großem Abstand die schlechteste Erfahrung.

I like that it is in a silent area. The owner took care of us a lot. He was really friendly, helpful and goodheart. He made our breakfast ready for 4:30a.m I really appreciate that. The rooms is big and it is clean.

It is not a new property.

Great location set amongst the rice paddies, only a short tuktuk to Tissa. Nice deck to admire the countryside, Sri Lankan cooking lesson and arranging the Yala Safari.

Nice and clean room! Functioning hot shower and AC unit. We had dinner here and it was really good! Breakfast is great and plentiful.

No coffee/tea cups in the room. Although, we requested them early morning and within 5 mins had cups!

The location of this very small hotel among the rice fields is lovely. Don't miss the incredible sunset! The family room is very convenient, clean and spacious. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel has efficiently organised the jeep safari in Yala for us - a must-do - as well as car transfer to our next stop. Everything went smootly. Highly recommended.

La stanza in cui abbiamo soggiornato aveva una vista bellissima e rilassante sui campi di riso circostanti, ci è piaciuto anche il tavolino di fronte sotto l'ombra di un albero dove rilassarci e riposare dal viaggio, in condivisione con l'altra stanza al piano. Il WiFi e l'aria condizionata funzionavano, anche se non è servito più di tanto visto che ha fatto fresco la sera. Il bagno era comodo. In stanza c'era anche un bollitore, utile per prepararsi un tè o un caffè. La posizione è molto buona per visitare il parco di Yala, ci hanno aiutato a organizzare un safari per la mattina dopo. Purtroppo è un po' isolato, alla fine di una lunga via in mezzo ai campi, ci hanno organizzato loro una cena nel posto, facendoci scegliere da un menù al nostro arrivo nel pomeriggio, molto buona e con prezzi onesti. Ci hanno fatto portare la colazione per il Safari con toast e frutta.

Very goood staff the family help us a lot and make our stay better that we expected. It’s a perfect place to relax after safari long day. In the city there is no too much places to go out for eat but they give us a menu with a lot of options and we could have very good dinner. Good place to see the sunset!

I had an amazing experience at Village Mango Resort Thissamaharama. The staff was friendly and helpful from check in to check out. The room was clean, comfortable and the view is amazing. One of the highlights was the safari tour arranged by the hotel and it was perfectly organized. We saw many animals at Yala National Park. The safari driver also well experienced. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for relaxation and adventures safari tours..

Village mango resort is one of the best hotels we spent in Sri Lanka. Staff, Food, View, Nature, all are superb. And the best part is the safari tour. The hotel arranged us a tour and we had an unforgettable experience with the safari driver. We saw all the animals in the Yala Safari. Leopards, Elephants, Bears etc. Then we went on a safari tour again. (Morning half and evening half) The driver has a great experience about the jungle and the roads. We went 3 kinds of safari in Sri Lanka and this was the best. I think this is the best place to go on a yala safari tour. Very good & appreciate it!! ❤️

The accommodation is okay just about clean. There were just some cockroaches and ants around, but given the location, it's to be expected. The view is ok.

Disappointing. This is not a resort. I do not recommend booking the safari with them for several reasons: the driver is unpleasant, it's very expensive for the quality and comfort of the vehicle. Also, the safari was supposed to be from 4:30 AM to 12:00 PM, but by 10:30 AM the driver was already heading back. When I pointed out that it wasn't time to leave yet, he just said 'okay' and wasted time driving in circles around the national park until 11:30, without seeing any animals - just fences. In short, don't book the safari with them, you'll be disappointed.

Owner arranged us a Yala Safari Tour and it was really adventures. We saw leopards, crocodiles, elephants, bears, deers and more. Jeep driver also very kind. We got our first sri lankan rice and curry at this hotel and it was really tasty! The rooms were very clean. Bathrooms also very clean. This hotel is situated in a nice location. Although the host was nice to us, we cannot tell the same about the person of the safari tour arranged by him. In addition, we believe to have been bitten by flies because of the questionable hygienic status of the vehicle. We would have further appreciated a detailed explanation of the safari conditions; as it is not worthy having a private one, since the jeep is pretty big and sharing it would avoid having a crowd of vehicles in the park.

Lovely staff and comfortable beds. Very clean. Breakfast is huge and they catered for my celiacs. We were welcomed with a lovely fresh juice. Ate dinner here twice and it was very good, home cooked meals. It is a tuk tuk ride from Tissa but the host can easily organise this and we really liked being out of the town a little way. It is peaceful plus they have two dogs Sam and Teddy who are lovely and Cici the cat. Thankyou for being so welcoming and helpful Pubudu and staff. We loved our stay. And the room was massive. One night a firefly suddenly appeared in our room, it was lovely. We helped him outside.

As a local couple first of all I wanted to thank to the owner of this place and pubudu he not just a staff he is very familiar person. and extremely kind and 100% decent person. when I was booked there I was very particular about privacy and protection. so I can 100% guarantee to anyone who like to come there in future. because the place in owner property and their house below us. and 100% safe. and there is no security cameras in rooms. so you ll have 100% best privacy.... and regarding room view is in front of paddy field. and village view so much beautiful. and we had very good breakfast for good price and food is very hygienic. so overall everything is perfect and I forgot to tell. they have hot water as well and in the bathroom wall is very beautiful with snow mountain art. 100% I recommend this place. looks luxurious and safe specially for foreigners. to the Tip. tissamaharayama temple 5min from there

I stayed one night at the property. The family was kind. The family room was big and clean. The property is located closed to a beautiful rice field in a very calm neighborhood (isolated from the center).

The family organized a safari for us but the car was not of a good quality especially given the price that we paid. The car was not comfortable at all with no shock absorber, which is annoying for a safari. Therefore, the driver had to go very slowly. If you travel with a driver, please note that there is no room available for him.

A super quiet and peaceful out of town accommodation, this little guesthouse was more like staying with a local family than a hotel with clean, no frills accomodation. Pubudu and Chania arranged our safari and provided our transfers from Galle and to Ella which made life so easy. We had good food at the Village Mango and the hosts were very attentive. There was a problem with the air con with the room we originally booked and very swiftly we were moved to the larger family room. This was nice as we had a settee and table.

The property is cash only for the room/ transfers/safari/dinner. This isn't a negative but just wanted to highlight this as you may need to get cash out to pay for stuff.

The accommodation was even better than the pictures ! We stayed in the deluxe room with a balcony, and the view of the rice fields was absolutely stunning. The hotel also has a restaurant,and the food was both delicious and reasonably priced.they arranged a safari for us to yala national park, which was a great experience.they offer taxy service for great.we would definitely come back and highly recommend...!!!

Highly recommend! The host was very friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable with a beautiful view. And most importantly - they organized a wonderful safari for us. We chose the all day option from 4:30am to 6pm with a private jeep, breakfast, lunch and a wonderful driver who knew exactly how and when to move to show us as much as possible. We saw lots of different animals and birds and even a leopard! Thank you :) Note, although Booking.com shows payment in USD, payment in local currency is preferred

The place is hidden in the middle of the rice fields and surrounded by mango trees and palms but only a few minutes again from tissa by tuktuk. There are only two rooms. There is a ventilator and AC. The breakfast was really good and they even prepared us breakfast to take away on our safari early morning with fresh fruits and sweets crepe. The owners are really nice people. We had a good stay.

The owner is a very kind and generous man. He took us on a lake tour in his tuk tuk where we saw bats and barn owls.he helped us organize a safari which was exellent. The courtyard is beautiful and relaxing, with mango and coconut trees. The room is spacious and comfortable. The hosts are very kind and welcoming, and the food is homemade and delicious.

Althoug big and spacious, bathroom is a little bit poorly maintained, and the food is charged according to the menu prices (there is no fixed €7 menu as stated on Booking). Regardless, I would still recommend this accommodation.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, they prepared a breakfast for us at 4:30AM before the national park safari starts which was very nice. The quality of the home-made food was good and the view from balcony was beautiful.

The room we stayed at had a musty smell and the window wouldn't open so there was no air circulation except through the air-conditioner. The water pressure in the toilet was very low and equipments in the room were old, minimal and very basic. The location was far from the city and it was more than a walking distance.

This little place of heaven. We had a big; clean; comfy and gorgeous view of the rice fields from our room. Everyone was lovely and so helpful. We booked our safari tour with the hotel and the driver came to pick us up in the morning from there. The town is about a 20 minute walk from the guesthouse and about 10 minute tuktuk. A very calming and relaxing place and the breakfast was just gorgeous. A definite place to stay when heading to Tissamaharama :)

The dedication of the the staff at Village Mango Resort was fantastic. They organised our safari tour prepared breakfast to take with us at 0430am. We returned for an exceptional lunch the absolute best home cooked meal we have had in Sri Lanka the Aubergine curry was the best.

It is located in a very quiet area with lovely views as it is surrounded with nature. The room is comfortable, spacious and clean.

As it is in the middle of nowhere, there a lot of bugs and mosquitos, so you need to really be quick to go in and out of the room.
