The second night we got paid for room
Did not honour our payment for the room we paid for and we were put into an annex room outside the hotel which we did not want or pay for
Great location
All good
Charming and comfortable hotel. Excellent staff, wonderful location, good selection of food and drink.
Great locations
Super staff
Location was excellent, hotel a bit quirky but in a lovely way, views are breathtaking we paid extra for a sea view and it was worth it. Breakfast was delicious and staff friendly.
Attention to detail needed to bring cleaning to a higher standard but level of cleanliness was satisfactory.
Homely.
Tom was a bit musty. Double bed for me and my son rather than twin room.
Beautiful location, super friendly and helpful staff, real old world charm
Nothing
Beautiful location with amazing views and plenty of parking. The hotel has so much character and is really pretty and well decorated throughout, with lovely grounds and both indoor and outdoor seating. The whole property and grounds were litter free and clearly cared for. The food was great, we really enjoyed the live music, and the staff were super polite, friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay again.
The main thing that let the hotel down was the dust and attention to cleaning. Our bedroom was particularly dusty around the bed frame, lampshades and furniture, there was hair on the carpet, and the inside of the windows needed cleaning(hand and finger marks on the glass), and the toilet seat and kettle needed more attention. We noticed quite a lot of dust elsewhere too, including the staircase and ornaments on shelves in the bar. Our private balcony had an amazing view, but unfortunately the dirty artificial grass and dead plants in the pots made it feel unkempt and meant we didn’t enjoy the view as much as we could have. A more thorough cleaning routine and a little attention to the balcony would make a big difference.
The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Our twin bed room was a little small but otherwise very good
A lovely homely traditional hotel. Quirky layout downstairs with bar, restaurant and seating areas...excellent outdoor seats with beautiful views of the sea. Perfectly located to visit the village and the beach-strand. Room was spacious with a fantastic view ...dual aspect and good ensuite and tea-coffee facilities. Breakfast was served until 1030 and very adequate choices...hot and cold options. Bar was very busy on the evening we were there (a Wednesday) with live traditional music. Lovely way to end the night.
Hotel was old fashioned ...which might not suit everyone...I.loved it!
Staff were so helpful and friendly couldnt do enough! Amazing service! Fabulous Food!
The old world atmosphere mixed with great music playing
Our room (8) was a bit small and as it was warm weather we felt we would have liked more room
Breakfast service wasnt great. Staff need training. We sent Duke food back as it was gone off.
Music in the bar that night and good atmosphere
Room was extremely small and cleanliness was not up to scratch. Particularly the bathroom which needed a good scrub. Dust and cobwebs in the room also
Friendly staff, good atmosphere in the bar. Nice dinner and drinks
The beds are very small. Weren't allowed to sit outside to have breakfast. Breakfast was slow and didn't come with what it said on the menu
Le cadre magnifique, un hotel farfelu dans la décoration. Bon repas
Chambre tres petite , le lit également (même pas un 140) pas de climatisation. Impossible d avoir de l air ( ouverture de la fenetre pas plus de 20 cm). Petit dejeuner trop tardif 8h15 . Pas d ascenseur.
The room
The food
Excellent breakfast in a relaxed and beautiful dining room.
The outdoor amplified music on sunday afternoon.
A charming hotel in a beautiful location, a stones throw from a couple of great swim spots. The staff at the hotel, from reception, bar to breakfast were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.
Location of property excellent. Fabulous food
Room was small but in old part of hotel so was to be expected. Also only booked night before so last room available
The location and staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough for us. Room was clean and nicely decorated. The breakfast was lovely too
Location, atmostphere and friendly staff
Bathroom at musty smell but was very clean
Service very slow first morning Otherwise fine/
Garden rooms bit cramped for space. Wardrobe could have been behand the door for example....
Very relaxing stay. Staff are friendly and helpful. Food good. Bed really comfortable. Will definitely stay again
Great location, cool hotel and bar, spacious room.
Sleeping was horrible due to no noise barrier with room next to the elevator and doors slamming in the hallway. Hot due to bees nest outside the window so couldn’t open the window.
Great location with access to town and the Coastal Path. Good food at reasonable prices and lovely music on Sunday evening.
One of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever not been able to sleep in. Lumpy and hard as a rock. Hot in the room and unable to open windows. Staff were indifferent, but capable; not the usual Irish friendly hospitality.
Homely beautiful views and location is gorgeous
Very hard to get a room as it only has a couple
It genuinely was the most welcoming hotel I have ever stayed in. I loved absolutely everything about it, I've even booked 2 nights there again in a months time.

I upgraded to a sea view and it was absolutely stunning. We had a delicious breakfast the following morning then explored the surrounding area down by the sea. Truly a magical weekend!
Hätte man mal reinigen sollen
Parking.
Bedroom felt a little tired. No USB electrical points. Shower slide for hand shower was pulling out of wall. No rain shower. Noisy towel rail heating. Windows did not seal. Wind buffeting them at night was a constant 'knocking' sound. Door handle was very stiff and did not open easily. Bedside table only one side of the bed.
I have stayed in your hotel a few times and I just love the location and enjoy the friendly staff
Check out at eleven was a little early
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast. Well maintained. Lovely and quiet.
Couldnt stay for breakfast as we needed to leave a little early.
I think the garden rooms, while still very nice, should cost a little less than the rooms in the main hotel
Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless. The food was beautiful, and the entertainment was great. Beautiful spot all around.
Nothing everything was perfect
Loved everything the Location, the amazing views, the relaxed atmosphere all the Staff were friendly and helpful especially Riley We attend a music event and the new Function Room is just fantastic
Nothing
The residents lounge was the best I've ever been in, it would make you wish for rain. The cooked breakfast was excellent.
There was a very limited choice of fruit at breakfast, no pastries. All focus on the cooked portion, which was great.
The staff were so kind and nothing was too much for them to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The entertainment at night in the bar was excellent both nights of our stay. The food was very reasonable and of excellent quality. We will definitely be returning.
I really couldn't fault our stay.
Breakfast was excellent all fresh and staff were very friendly all good
All good
Despite the fact that I wasn't assigned the room I paid for (totally no fault of hotel, but disappointed as a 'Genius 3 member' to be 'tricked this way by Booking.com) the staff, food, & beautiful surroundings, totally made up for the 'dilemma'. This is a cosy, quirky, family establishment that is impeccably & professionally run. I loved the 'musical influences' throughout; ... a thoughtful & memorable dedication to former music lover, owner & founder, the late & dearly loved John Kelly. I loved the place! We also got to see one of my favourite bands, in their fabulous new entertainment hall, also used for wedding receptions, & the undulating grounds outside, with the stunning sea-view backdrop, perfect for those memorable wedding photos! This hotel has so much to offer, but it's the relaxed, personable, chilled vibe that did it for me, ... not forgetting adorable Riley, sitting on her armchair in Reception, giving her own personal welcome! I will be back!

Staff were so happy and helpful
Very charming building and staff in an amazing location.
We were expecting to stay in the hotel however were put into a very small prefab room with extremely thin walls. We heard everything the neighbours were saying (and more....). In summary: note the "Garden Room" is not actually in the hotel, despite the impression on the listing.
Lovely
Location was great, breakfast was amazing
Rooms were super plain for the money And very small Shower was too small to get into Spider in the upper corner or the shower
We had an absolutely amazing stay here. The bedroom was spacious and immaculately clean. The staff are the friendliest and most genuinely helpful people I have ever met in any hotel. The breakfast was perfect, not a buffet style! Evening meal was delicious, especially fish of the day and Haven Mess dessert! This wad our second time staying here and we can't wait to return!
Couldn't fault a thing!
All good
Fabulous staff really good meal and excellent breakfast so relaxed and very enjoyable most comfortable bed ever
Breakfast was good
Staff no very professional
Nice staff. Very good food.
Bathroom cleaning and maintenance poor; lots of mould around shower
Great location and atmosphere, very charming building. Great ocean views, fitting decor. Some of the staff were very nice and helpful.
Stuffy room. I found a viagra pill on the floor from a previous guest. Someone was banging around in a hallway bathroom directly below me from 3-5 am which I found really weird. I was exhausted the next day because of lack of sleep. If you stay here, perhaps the garden rooms outside the main house would be quieter.
