Rooms could do with a little updating, simple things like putting a shade on the ceiling light and shower was old. Beautiful old building but decor doesn't do it justice

The property was a bit faded and could do with some painting and modernization of bathrooms. The breakfast could also be improved as we could only order black coffee or tea at the breakfast that was included.

Reviewed Aug 3, 2026The breakfast was fabulous, we got a table overlooking the sea. Stunning! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is great. Always such a buzz and we had the bonus of an art exhibition to view.
Sadly the room we were in had a boiler or some industrial machine right outside our bedroom window. It was very noisy to be fair and sleep was poor because of it.

There was no kettle in our room and we couldn't use the ancient electric shower as it was either ice cold or scalding. So, no tea and no showers- poor.

Reviewed May 25, 2026The staff were excellent, so friendly, polite and nothing was too much trouble. We booked into the townhouse but the walk up hill was too much for my husband who has mobility issues. They moved us to the hotel without any hesitation.

Unfortunately the rooms are outdated any time I check into a hotel with a key to the door i know its not going to be great. We had an issue with our first room but the staff sorted this out immediately and were very good to do this as they were busy.

Reviewed Apr 6, 2026Amazing location. Lovely tasty breakfast in Strand Pub, overlooking Lady's Cove, with stunning views of the bay. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms in townhouse were basic, compact but clean, comfortable and suited our needs. Instantaneous shower adequate but not powerful. Will definitely return.

No instruction clearly given to say we had to check in at the other strand inn premises and it was late and raining when we arrived. I had to phone when we couldn’t get in only to be told we had to go down to the strand inn to check in

Reviewed Feb 23, 2026I was attending an event on Sunday in the hotel so it was perfectly fine for what I wanted it for. Room was clean and comfortable fine for one but i'd say would be small for 2 people. Location was good for hotel, it was just around corner. You need to drive to the harbour to have breakfast which was a 6 minute drive. Be warned its a busy area with very limited parking. Breakfast was lovely and staff very friendly. I did feel the room was cool, I took off my coat when I arrived but quickly put it on again. Also when I arrived back after dinner also felt it a little cold.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026The location of the Strand Townhouse is excellent, in the centre of the village close to all amenities and a good breakfast is included on the main hotel which is a 5 minute walk from the Townhouse. Unfortunately this is where the positives end.
The Townhouse is very dated and the rooms were of poor quality with old furniture and fittings. Our room was very noisy early in the morning as it backed onto the delivery area for the neighbouring restaurant. We had a top floor room and there was very loud scratching in the attic/on the roof during the night. While the sheets were clean, the throw cushions on the bed were very visibly stained. The images online did not reflect the room that we stayed in. The whole place seemed like it had minimal investment and really you are just paying for location. There is better value and better quality accomodation in the village.

Сподобалось усе. Хіба сніданок надто дорогий і жирний, кава не входить. І шкода, що нам не повідомили деталі заселення, то ми трохи розгубились і загубились

Reviewed Nov 4, 2025The breakfast was nice but my eggs benedict my eggs were hard. Hollandaise sauce a bit runny. I ordered orange juice but wasn't asked if I liked ice but when it was delivered it already had ice in it. I don't like orange juice with ice but rather waste it I just accepted it. My husband had an Irish Breakfast and his was lovely.
In our room the wardrobe door was broken and just stayed fully open. The bathroom mirror was too high so if you're smaller than 5ft 3 inches you have to stretch to see yourself. No shelf at sink to put make up, etc. Shower door had a big gap in it so water was going through the gap and onto the floor.

Reviewed Aug 18, 2025La cortesia del personale reception albergo che consegna le chiavi e che ci ha anche accompagnato alla struttura in camera, poiché non riuscivamo ad aprire. Colazione offerta presso l'albergo ottima e preparata al momento. Tutto il resto da dimenticare.
Camera non pulita, moquette sporca e peli nel lavandino. Bagno angusto. Non è stato possibile fare la doccia perché non c'era acqua. Abbiamo scritto per capide come ma non ci hanno risposto. La reception dell'hotel chiude alle 21 ed ogni problema dopo tale orario non trova assistenza. Finestra sul retro edificio sporco e rumoroso per la presenza di macchinari anche durante la notte.
