Lovely historic building, beautiful rooms, very comfy bed!
They were a bit short staffed but everyone we met did their best.
The mattress, pillows, bedding & towels were of high quality. Whoever sourced them chose well! Reception was friendly & professional. There was a kettle & lots of hot drink options, complimentary water, & biscuits. The inn has oodles of English period charm (wooden wall panels, wrought iron beds, high ceilings, sash windows etc). Plenty of free on-site parking, good food & beverage options, and a nice outdoor area for sun-downer drinks.
The shower drain/trap was clogged. I took care of it myself which was a pretty gross job. Being picky: The windows were a bit stiff (but a desk fan was provided). Along with some minor scuffs & scrapes to carpet & walls (one step beyond general housekeeping) I'm deducting a mark. That said, I'd happily stay here again for business or pleasure.
Drinks good reasonable price

all great
Clean, lovely staff, very friendly and helpful.
The food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner. The staff were all helpful, friendly and efficient.
Good food and accommodation. ⁴
Noisy revellers under window
Great location, staff very nice and good breakfast.
Walls between rooms are not soundproof at all. You could hear next room people every word speaking etc. And the worst, all night long hearing next room people snoring! Awful!
The room was very clean and comfy.
Very very nice.
Large beautiful room and lovely interior

The location is amazing
We were attending a wedding a few miles away and The Crown was in an ideal location. I called up to see if there was a chance of getting an early check in and the staff were incredibly helpful and sorted one of our rooms so that we could change for the wedding.
Lovely building, room good. Staff very friendly
Everything good
Staff were very nice , food was also very good.
Room 8 is very tired and not very clean
Everything was very good. I had a great meal in the garden, the beer was cold and the staff were very good. My room was very clean and well presented. The building is quite old but well maintained. It was a very good experience all round.
Haha. The lift was very slow.
Extremely welcome and friendly staff. Beautiful room with great bathroom. Very clean. Despite being an older property there was also air con. Great restaurant and bar.

Quite pricey to say breakfast was not included.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
Old hotel with great atmosphere. Big clean bedroom, spare bedroom and decent sized bathroom. Excellent breakfast. Convenient free on-site parking Amicable staff.
No AC in my room on one of the hottest days of the year. Strong Kitchen smells wafting in through my necessarily open window. Overly complicated, unusable TV system. Slow internet.
The staff were all very helpful and friendly.
During the hot weather. The room was very hot compared with the rest of the hotel, being small and on the top floor. There was no Aircon in our room, a fan was provided. The room overlooked the outside seating area and road. Noisy with windows open.
Location
Breakfast was amazing
Everything was pleasant
The air conditioning in the room.
It was not clean .Chairs were dirty.
Location was brilliant, our family room was very spacious and staff went above and beyond to help us.
The only small negative we had was that the room was exceptionally dusty in areas - the mirror in the twin room was so dirty you couldn’t actually use it.
Great location with free parking for 24 hours. Lovely bedroom with super comfy bed. Delicious dinner and breakfast. Nice area outside with tables and chairs for having a drink in the sunshine.

Air conditioned rooom
In the middle of noisy town. Food poor
Comfy room, friendly staff, good breakfast!
We didn't have any A/C in our "Comfy Double Room" and found it a bit too warm on a hot summer day.
Staff were absolutely lovely and our room was exceptional- bathroom clean with toiletries and the bed was enormous and comfortable and was not a problem that we arrived slightly later than we expected and accommodated our dog accordingly
Nothing all was very good
perfect location. Breakfast good value for money. Would come back.
Nothing.
The Crown was well situated for our stay, the outside area had a great atmosphere.
Being so warm, our room was quite hot and the fan supplied did not work properly blowing the air backwards instead of out the front .
All perfect Very nice night porter, very good at his job

Ideally situated for access to Blandford, great atmosphere, social hub for the town, comfortable, historic, good service.
No EV charge points.
Crown is the best hotel in Blandford. Comfortable rooms, welcoming staff, good food.
The room didn't have air conditioning and was too hot. We will choose a room with air conditioning next time.
Really comfy room. Excellent location and easy parking
Excellent breakfast, very reasonably priced
Room was too hot
Location- good for meeting family living nearby.
Outside glass tables were dirty and smeared. Cane chairs arms felt greasy. Food was adequate but not exciting and beer was not chilled as low as it should have been. Bedroom was characterful (room 18) and benefited from aircon. The restaurant is magnificent with its paintings and sketches of directors of the brewery.
Old property with plenty of room. Good with dogs. Hi

Chambre Deluxe pour 4 : en fait deux chambres mitoyennes et une SDB, parfait pour une famille. Très confortable, propre et décoration absolument british ! On a adoré ! En plus cette chambre là (pas toutes) est climatisée. Parking privé sur place et petite ville charmante. Le petit-déjeuner est parfait, bref je conseille vivement !

breakfast with brilliant room number six is what I was in absolutely fantastic room
Hotel was lovely and the staff were amazing. Lots of parking and location was great.
Room was really hot with only a small fan and no aircon. It was so hot that sleep was impossible unfortunately.
staff are good. good selection of beer.
room was boiling hot
Stopped off here whilst on motorcycle tour for one night July 26. Nice hotel in a beautiful little town with fantastic walks along the river. Restaurants, bars and takeaways are plentiful with two large supermarkets within walking distance. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Large carpark if required.5 stars

So I went to the bar for a couple drinks with my cousin and I was served by Madison she seemed really bubbly and she was quite quick when she took our order then voila our drinks were made
I went to stay here prior to a Guide dogs day course being held here. It was the first time my guide dog and I had been away since we have been together. Everyone was so kind to us. We had a lovely room, which had air conditioning which was wonderful! Lovely comfortable bed, with nice linen. Breakfast had plenty of choice, I didn’t have a cooked breakfast but lovely pastries and cereal etc. The hotel is lovely, but what particularly makes it is the staff. From my booking, I had plenty of questions, all of which were answered promptly! Receptionists to the waiters and waitresses and house keeping staff everyone was kind, helpful but not over the top, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I will definitely be back thank you everyone.
Great location , beautiful gardens, good parking
Very creaky/squeaky bed . Looked nice but not so practical but overall was a great stay
Love the hotel itself and the staff there. Always so accommodating this is our second stay there in the last year. Beds are so comfortable, love the doorstop animal that appears in all of the rooms. Walk in shower is exceptional proper rainfall one, and decent size towels instead of them being the size of a postage stamp.
Can't honestly think of any dislikes..
Incredible little find, marvalous georgian style hotel, lovely food, and a great relaxed pub and garden to chill and watch the world go by. Definately worth a revisit.
The pub garden with the sun was lovely, staff friendly and it was clean.
It was too hot, we had multiple fans in our room and it was still too hot. On the top floors of the hotel, they need aircon.
Large on site car park, good breakfast.
Perfect location. Beautiful old hotel with all the mod cons.
Thank you for a lovely visit at the crown. Your team members are so friendly and helpful, especially Martina and Jess who made our day even more special. We were very happy with the recommended food and drinks afterwards. Definitely we will be come back
Friendly and conveniently placed. Plenty of parking.
Loved location, looked charming, cute town. Nice spacious room on 2nd floor.
Our room was very very hot. It did have a fan but we struggled with the heat. We also didn’t think room was as clean as we would have liked. Linen etc was good but the bathroom floors and shower were not clean, dusty skirting boards etc.
Food service was good
Room was comfortable but WiFi wouldn't connect and it is a poor 5G reception area - not the hotels fault
The attention to detail was exceptional, I couldn't help but relax and refresh myself as too did my partner and my little dog who was made to feel equally welcome. The crown hotel is now my little utopia and i look forward to staying there again.
There was nothing to dislike.
Me and my colleagues met up for Lunch which we tend to do At the crow in Blandford as it half way for everyone when we where all settled the waitress Christina Took are order as one of my friends had a nut allergy Christina was very helpful and couldn’t do enough for us We all had a fabulous lunch thank you Christina and the team❤️
It had a good buzz
Evening food wasn’t great.
Everything - how quiet the room was, how comfortable my room was. The outside seating area. The service al 10/10

Not being able to extend my stay
What a lovely hotel, the staff were warm and friendly and welcoming, the room was comfortable, but also thoughtfully put together. And the food was delicious.
Nice friendly atmosphere, facilities and service.
Windows rattled by the wind in room 5.
Location, parking and friendly staff. Great English breakfast.
Room 6 slightly cluttered. Did not need the plant pot stand , nor a table behind curtains. They just got in the way. Windows all need a clean
It is a lovely building, bedrooms are nice and the food is good.
It was so noisy at night with staff in an office next to our bedroom moving things and talking loudly in the office and on the landing until well past midnight. No soundproofing.
Everything went well. The staff in the restaurant were really nice but a little disorganised. Superb beer garden outside.
The bedroom was extremely hot in the sunny weather. The operators were clearly aware and had installed an air on unit which was noisy and not very effective.

The location was good for our purposes.
It was incredibly hot in our room. And although the hotel provided a fan, the room was still stiflingly hot, making sleep almost impossible. But to be fair to the hotel, it had been a very hot day. Perhaps if they had offered the option to open the windows wider, our stay might have been a little more comfortable. The staff were not their usual jovial selves; everything seemed like too much effort, especially when it came to the bar staff. We've long viewed the Crown Hotel as our go-to hotel when we stay in Dorset. After this stay, we may look at other options.
Easy check-in, loads of free parking, small but perfectly formed double room on the second floor. Staff were the right amount of friendly. Good selection of draught beer. Beautiful building with character in all rooms.
Food was okay but pricey; we had breakfast and dinner in the garden. However, the room was sweltering: windows open about two inches, hallways on second floor were very hot even at 2100hrs, the fan had to be repositioned onto a chair near the window and kept on all night - noisy. Even a cold shower did little to relieve the heaviness of rhe air in the room. Hardly slept and was exhausted the next day. If you have no way of cooling the rooms I would suggest not putting guests on the second floor in hot weather. The building is beautiful, the breakfast croissants excellent but the comfort of the room in the heat was awful.
We arrived on a beautiful sunny day, and the garden terrace looked so inviting , it was clearly popular with the locals too. From the moment we arrived, everyone gave us such a warm and friendly welcome. The staff kindly managed to reserve us a table for dinner that evening, which we really appreciated. Our room was the perfect size for our family. I wasn’t expecting separate rooms, so I was delighted to discover the layout was set up that way. Both rooms were spacious enough to comfortably fit our toddler’s inflatable bed, and we never felt crowded or on top of each other. Each room had a TV. Netflix didn’t work, but we were able to log into our Amazon Prime account instead. The fans in both rooms were very much appreciated, especially during the warm weather, and the blackout blinds were a lovely touch with children. There were plenty of towels for everyone, and I loved the funky pop of green in the décor. The tea and coffee selection was excellent, with plenty of variety and biscuits for everyone which definitely pleased the kids! I especially loved the tall ceilings, large windows, and beautiful Victorian style radiators. The bathroom also had a fantastic feature with a soft blue LED light that automatically came on during the night, which was perfect for little ones. There was plenty of storage space too, including shelves and hangers. I honestly slept well for the first time in a long time. The whole place had such a lovely, calming energy. The dining hall was peaceful, the staff were attentive and friendly, and the food was exceptional with something to suit all tastes. We also enjoyed a short walk to a nearby park, which was quiet and pleasant with lovely views. We would definitely stay here again.
Netflix not working, this was a minor problem outweighed with lovely service.
The location was excellent, the room design was beautiful, and the cleaning staff were absolutely wonderful and very helpful throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, the room was facing the ventilation system, so there was a constant noise at all times. The Wi-Fi was also unreliable and kept disconnecting. In addition, the TV settings were very confusing and the television did not work properly.
Location good. Cooked breakfast was a little small with only 1 egg & 1 sausage
I had to chase my main coarse on the Wednesday night. But the pub was busy both inside & outside. I didn’t eat at the hotel last time I stayed so can not compare if Wednesday night was a blip. I do hope it was.
Well located, clean and friendly staff
Good location. Clean . Helpful staff. Good bed.
No air conditioning. Very hot in the room so very poor sleeping.Noisy fan not effective. Very small window opening. Breakfast extra. Small room. Expensive .
Nice location. Good size rooms . Dog friendly place . Nice surroundings.

Very cool ancient meets modern. Lots of Jane Austin vibes and interesting decor. We had a lovely double fronted room which was huge! Really interesting building and very helpful friendly reception team, thanks!
Maybe the carpets could do with a clean otherwise all good.
Stayed at this great hotel: as part of Hall & Woodhouse got my partners birthday, rooms are well decorated, great breakfast offer with personable staff. Great bar & food, plentiful places to sit in or out. The Crown fest was on with some great local artists. In the centre of the village, half hour drive from the beach, and a 10 minute walk from the Hall & Woodhouse brewery. We will be back to this lovely hotel
That we had to come home.
Lovely place and very friendly staff. Lovely young girl on the bar.
Enjoyed the breakfast service and food. Only had a couple of meals and bar snacks. All ok Room was comftable and cleaned lovely every day.
Stairs to room, but entirely our fault as we were offered to change before arrival but did not.
Good location, plenty of car parking, nice room, clean and a good breakfast. Staff were courteous and helpful.

Great staff, good location, free parking very well appointed room very clean
Ok...Yes the building is old Grade 2 Georgian Building. However due to the old wooden floor boards you can hear people walking about in the room above and getting in and out of bed, to a point that it can as it did with us keep us awake. Fortunately it wasn't a romantic weekend away for the people in the room above as every roll over and bed moved could be heard as if we were in the same room!.... Spoilt the overhaul experience I'm afraid
Beautiful room. Clean and so comfortable.
A first class experience from start to finish. Exceptional value for money, wonderful staff, lovely building in a great location. Could not have asked for more. Outstanding !
We could only stay one night !
Staff very attentive and friendly. Hotel comfortable and relaxing

Traditional hotel nicely restored. Comfortable room and beds. Nice breakfast and friendly staff.
Lighting in our room could be a bit brighter.
Friendly staff, comfy and spacious rooms, ample parking.

The staff! Very helpful and friendly, particularly the bar staff.
No one on reception at 8am to check me out!
Lovely old feel but tastefully done
