Excellent service, attentive staff, and situated on the mountain so you are as close to nature as you can be. The hotel design is luxurious and very thoughtful with plenty of spaces. The house dog Avi is super cute too.
If you are a light sleeper bring some ear buds as you are in the nature and it’s your wake-up alarm.
This is one of the most special places I've stayed (and it's my sixth trip to South America). It's architecturally designed, with the most exquisite attention to detail. And the views are to die for. The staff are gorgeous (special shout out to the fabulous cook, Diane). Its isolation is one of its biggest strengths. For a nominal fee, their Jeep can drop you into town. Or you can walk down a steep 4wd trail 20 minutes and take a tuk-tuk. For the price, this piece of paradise was exceptional.
Nothing really. Maybe a couple of bedside lamps?
Absolutamente TODO.
Much more beautiful than the pictures. quiet an adventure to get there, only by a jeep taxi.. what a ride. absolutely wonderful personal. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back. Bravo for the team
Simplement tout ! Le personnel tout d’abord très gentil et qui cuisine super bien. Le lieu incroyable pour se reposer et être dans la nature au milieu des oiseaux dont les colibris.
Rien à dire
Casa Nativo is in a phenomenally gorgeous location. It's tucked away in the mountains, with beautiful views, about 10 mins outside of Jardin. Pickup was easy - I had a car (not 4x4) and I met Ana at a parqueadero in Jardin. Ana y Diana were so helpful and kind! The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. It's worth it to splurge on one with a balcony - there's a pair of rocking chairs on each one, with a blanket for when it's cold. Breakfast (included) and dinner (extra) were made to order at the hour of my choosing.
Nothing really! It was a lovely stay. Recommend!
La atención y el lugar por su naturaleza.
Todo estaba super genial
The staff was friendly, the property was beautiful.
Very clean, staff very pleasant and polite.
The fact that you couldn’t drive your own vehicle, it made it a a bit more expensive.
It was a good place to connect with nature and the attention was on point
Just amazing!! What a beautiful hotel, it feels like you are staying in a treehouse surrounded by beautiful trees, plants and many birds!
No parking at the hotel. But the hotel can arrange a car service to pick you up from the secure public parking in town.
The location is extraordinary! You will have breakfast with the most beautiful bird species flying around your head. It is truly an experience!
The location and views are amazing, so is Diana
It is due to the beautiful location hard to reach, you need a jeep for 30.000 peso’s (50.000 at night) to all the way up or cheaper tuktuk and walk the final part. Final part is really really steep. I did not mind that, its part of the expercience, but its something you need to be aware of. They also don’t take cards so bring enough cash!
Monica made breakfast made to order.
In order to get to the hotel they provided a jeep ride to go up and down the hill. Although well maintained I wish the road was regraded more often
The location is quite spectacular as it seems like you are living above the clouds.
Nothing.
The views were stunning. The breakfast was tasty, although we were surprised that we were charged for coffee given the daily rate we paid. The staff member was very friendly and accommodating.
We were informed the day before our arrival that access to the property was only by a 4x4 vehicle. We were also only told just before we arrived that there were only 2 nominated times during the day that we could come and go without paying extra for the 4x4. However, guests can choose to walk down the steep, rough driveway and catch a tuk tuk from the road which the host can arrange. The host cannot speak any English which may be a challenge for guests who cannot speak Spanish. Carrying bags from the 4x4 to the room up steep stairs may be difficult for some people. The room we were given was a dormitory. Our bed was almost as hard as the tiled floor. There were mosquitoes in the room, although no fly spray was available. In our view, the property was not good value for money. We compared the price of Casa Navito with properties in the Jardin Village. Guests pay a lot of money for the wonderful view.
We recently had the pleasure of staying at Casa NATIVO, and it was an unforgettable experience. The property is absolutely beautiful and exudes a peaceful ambiance that makes it the perfect retreat. Our hosts were incredibly kind and accommodating, always going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The meals were a highlight of our stay – both the breakfast and dinner were delicious, featuring fresh, local ingredients that made every bite delightful. We also loved having the company of the animals on the property, which added a charming and homely touch to our stay.
A once in a lifetime experience you will not forget. I highly recommend booking Casa Nativo. Surrounded by nature and the most stunning sunsets I have ever seen. If you are looking to unwind and relax this place is for you. All the staff are so kind and make you feel like home. I hope to be able to visit again 💗
Nothing
This place was magical!! Highly recommend if you travel to Jardin. the hotel is beautiful and staff are wonderful. Excellent home cooked dinners are available to order all were exceptional.
Nothing
We saved the best for last. Our stay at Casa Nativo was the highlight of our Colombia trip. Not only the stunning architecture and surroundings (we never saw so many different exotic birds as we did here) but mainly the lovely and caring personalities of Daniela, her mother Ana and Diana. It's a bit like spending time with family. In our entire trip, the beautiful terrace overlooking the jungle is where we found the most peace and felt closest to nature. We also visited the coffee finca of the parents of Diana up the hill. We would come back to Colombia only to stay at this magical place!
The staff is unbelievably helpful and friendly, even with our poor Spanish. They make you feel like family. There's an adorable kitten and dog who are best friends. The view is so beautiful. You feel as though you're in a tree house. It's quiet apart from the sound of birds. Incredibly peaceful and just a short drive to Jardin in the 4x4. It is very easy to schedule with the hotel. The food was delicious, and they catered to my gluten allergy. You leave feeling loved and sad that your time is over.
The beds are small and not overly comfortable. There are no reading lights by the bed, just the overhead. There's no fan in the room, and the windows don't open. My partner and I both run warm, so we were hot in a small bed together. Despite this probably being our least comfortable room on our trip to Colombia, it's the first place I'd return to and the one I'll miss most. This place is special. Do yourself a favor and see for yourself.
This place is amazing! It was our best stay across our Central and South America trip. We loved that it has panoramic views of the wildlife and mountains. The furniture across multiple terraces was comfortable and inviting. We loved how plants and design was integrated with environment outside. High quality beds and linens. The food was very fresh and tasty. The staff and service was wonderful. We also loved exploring the local Jardin and nearby rural roads.
Nothing.
The hotel is located high up a mountain. Only way up is in a 4x4 on a dirt road. Once there - you are in paradise. You are sitting in the skies and on the tree tops. The hotel is beautiful designed and integrates into the wild. Monica and Diana are wonderful hostesses. The food they prepare is amazing and organic. Daniella, the owner, is very accommodating. You just have to plan your day around the 4x4s that checkin or checkout guests. However, Daniella can arrange for a truck at anytime for a cost of less than 10 US dollars. I can’t say enough about this hotel. You must experience it.
What a joy it was to stay at Casa Nativo. The entire team made us feel welcomed the moment we walked through the door. As mentioned in other reviews, staying in the mountains was the highlight of our trip to Jardin. The property is stunning and very relaxing. Lots of birds to watch from the property's decks for those who enjoy them. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Good water pressure. Strong wifi. The meals (breakfast & dinner) were very tasty. We appreciated Daniela and her team's flexibility to assure that all our meals were vegetarian. The jeep ride up to the property was a fun experience although you can easily walk the steep dirt driveway down to the property entrance to catch a tuk tuk as well. To note, if you happen to have a car you'll need to park it in one of the overnight paid parking lots in Jardin. The cost was 24,000 COP/24 hrs. You then just need to coordinate a jeep ride to the hotel (30,000 COP) or catch a tuk tuk (10,000 COP) to the property's driveway and walk the remainder. The hotel crew are more than happy to help you coordinate these rides. Would highly recommend staying at Casa Nativo.
We absolutely loved feeling surrounded in nature from the moment of our arrival. The view and place is spectacular! (even better than the photos!) We were able to be close to Jardin, with also enjoying a taste of the nature outside. We were amazed with wonderful the service was, and making modifications for our young baby, the delicious food, and even the welcoming drink as a first impression as we relaxed from the arrival. The place carries a welcoming energy all the way from the kitchen to the shared spaces. It's truly a wonderful place to stay! 10/10.
Although it seemed difficult getting a jeep and the short yet bumpy ride to the top, the owners did a wonderful job in programming our transport- which is also relatively cheap from the pueblo.
Excellent view and service! Quite, clean, safe and comfortable.
The walkway to the hotel looks a bit risky. If you don't book Jeep, it is a heavy duty climbing work!
The payment method
Great property with amazing views. Very nice and helpful owner and amazing lady Diana that is helping with the house and taking care of the guests. We will miss her hospitality and best breakfast we had in Colombia so far. Waking up with the best coffee plantation views and the singing of the most colorful birds - a bliss. Thank you Daniela and Diana!
If you want to feel all the love and warmth of a family from Antioquia, stay here, you will feel like a king, and other than that the hotel is excellent, I enjoyed everything
The architecture and the views were both amazing. We found ourselves enjoying to stay on the property rather than go into the town. Everyone Danielle and Matt the owners to Diana and Monica, who prepared the meals, were very kind and authentic.
It would’ve been nice if there were a few nice walking trails surrounding the property as it was so beautiful, with many fruit and coffee plants nearby.
Casa Nativo is an amazing place to stay. Located outside of Jardin center, it's an adventure in beauty, thoughtful aesthetics, breathtaking views, and a go w/ the flow attitude. Diana the housekeeper (Spanish speaker) was incredibley nice and a good cook too. The owners, Matt & Daniella were not on site but always available by text & very helpful. Every feature of this place showed their commitment to detail and a greater vision to create a wonderful tranquil world - the backdrop of Jardin landscape only enhances this vision. A very special experience that requires some flexibility AND WELL WORTH IT.
It's not a like or not like - Most of Jardin area is reachable by 4x4 jeep. Casa Nativo is too situated on top of a hill. You aren't in the center of Jardin. I couldn't get the pictures of this place out of my head and decided I needed to be there as opposed to being inside Jardin. I'm glad I did & was easily able to visit Jardin and other places every day.
Monica.and Diana looked after us perfectly, the house and bedroom met all our expectations and the views are to be seen and enjoyed, great breakfast and a special journey to and from Jardin
the location and view over the mountains was amazing. we could relax there very well - it was a lovely remote place. we saw various kinds of birds. the bedroom full of glass windows to see the nature outside was very peaceful. dinners were nice and homemade :)
even though it is not far from the city - if you intend to be active every day, I would maybe do a mix of this and a place in the center (we took a 10 min tuktuk and then 10 min hike up the hill) which was fine for us but just keep into account.
The view offered at Casa Nativo is by far the best view you will get in Jardin. The entire casa is beautifully decorated and offers many cozy spots to sit, relax, read, and enjoy the views. The hosts and the staff is very friendly and they are always prepared to help. Also, they cook delicious meals (Note that the default meals mainly contain meat and dairy and no vegetables. But we bet the staff is willing to offer alternatives if you ask for it). So if you're looking for a place to rewind and relax, this is the place to be.
A few minor points to optimize the comfortability of the guests: 1) It would have been nice if there had been a reading lamp/bedside table lamp (emitting warm coloured light) in the bedroom. 2) We recommend to replace the light bulbs in the bedroom with softer and warmer light. The bulbs hanging there now emit very bright, harsh, and cool coloured light, which overthrows the entire atmosphere of the carefully decorated rooms.
The hotel was sublime. You felt as if you were in the clouds and the treetops. The staff was friendly and helpful. You felt as if you were staying with family.
Size of breakfast was a little small. The ladies also complained about no curtains in the bathroom windows.
it’s a place to experience Colombian magical realism for yourself: a getaway secluded in the “coffee” mountains, interwoven with nature. You can enjoy breathtaking views from almost everywhere, relax in the lounge, or observe birds from your room. The included breakfast or the ordered dinner are delicious, like homemade from your private chef. We highly recommend the coffee finca tour. You can’t learn more about coffee cultivation in a shorter time and more beautiful place as walking up to the finca through steep hills, taste various tropical fruits, pick beans yourself and have a freshly brewed coffee at the place where the beans ripened. “
Everything. The views were unbelievable - the pictures really can’t and don’t do it justice (trust us we tried by taking hundreds). The rooms are incredible, again with amazing views (including of the mountain if in an inward facing room) - also the showers were glorious. The food was great, we also felt really taken care of and welcomed by Daniela and everyone else. Everything was well done - from organising tuktuk’s into town to the coffee tour, which was honestly a real highlight of any holiday/trip. Both Matt and Daniela were really responsive over WhatsApp too. We really cannot fault anything, it’s honestly stunning - just wish we could have stayed for longer!!
Nothing - just remember insect spray, although Daniela also that to hand too!
