Bus stop, location near beach excellent. Nice pool. Great views with sounds of ocean. Quiet at night.
Bathroom didn’t have a door. Average breakfast
The position with beautful ocean view

This hotel was awesome. The location, the people, the room, the balcony, the swimming pool (small but nice), the car park and not to forget the view. Simply fantastic!

Great location close to most wonderful beach in the area!
Great location with a beautiful view from the room and terrace - we spotted whales several times, and lots of bird life Across the street from the beach Short walk to Mazunte for lots of dining options, but also nice dining options closer in San Agustinillo Convenient to have breakfast included The car park was convenient also,, and covered, which was nice in the heat Nice to have two beds Refreshing pool with umbrellas for shade The room always felt cool, even with just using the fan. We thought we’d need AC, but didn’t end up using it Thoughtful storage systems with baskets, hangers, and a safe Coded lock system so we didn’t have to carry a key!
Staff were accommodating, but could have been more hospitable and outwardly welcoming I would have loved to have had a kettle in the room
Magnifique!!!!!
Excellent hotel in a beautiful location
The wooden handrails around the pool had rotted and broke causing our friend to have a very serious fall. The hotel appears to be addressing this matter and replacing sub-standard rails. Hopefully this important safety concern will be dealt with promptly.
Location just a short walk from the beautiful beach at San Agustinillo. We had a spacious well-appointed room with a lovely balcony overlooking the sea. The staff were friendly and helpful - on the first night I was unwell and didn’t want dinner, but they kindly prepared a tray with toast and yogurt for me at no extra charge. It’s a very laid-back, relaxed place and we enjoyed our time there very much.
Having to cross quite a busy street to get to the beach. As others have mentioned, the lack of door on bathroom. The stairs going up to the room are steep - not a problem for us but could be for other less mobile guests.
wunderschönes hotel, tolle aussicht, sehr liebe und zuvorkommende angestellte
Beautiful view, room size was adequate, because we switched to a larger room with a balcony. There is a fridge for cold water, and a plunge pool outside.
I felt ripped off when they didn’t honor the price on booking.com. I was charged more even after paying for the room upgrade in cash. The breakfast was cold when it should have been served warm. Chilaquiles are supposed to be spicy and the salsa was kind of flavorless. People who have mobility issues should avoid this hotel due to all the stairs. I liked the height because of the view, but if you have trouble with stairs avoid this hotel.
- Amazing location - Fantastic staff - Great rooms and facilities
- Breakfast got a minute monotonous after a week. But it was great quality.
Breakfast was good. Just across the street to the beach. Comfortable bed.
The hotel faces a very noisy street; the bathroom (toilet) is not separated from the bedroom; half of the rooms open on the parking lot; overpriced for what it is.
This was a wonderful place to stay on all accounts
Location, the view , the pool , bedroom was really comfortable ! Everything real nice
All good ! I would just say that for what we payed the breakfast has definitely room for improvement - better coffe and milk, better bread quality
There were only three other guests in the hotel, so the staff was exceptionally attentive during our 4 night stay. Juan kept our coffee cups full and made delicious breakfasts. It’s just across the street from the beach, but far enough away to give us the peace and quiet we were seeking. The buzzier beach communities of Mazunte and Zipolite are close by, but if you’re looking for a more mellow vibe, this is the place.
Nothing. The location on the hillside offered spectacular views, but if you don’t like stairs, be forewarned that there are no elevators.
Great location - short walk to nice beach and just 5-10 minutes walk to Mazunte. Great view and could hear the waves crashing. Good pool to cool off in. Nice breakfast.
Some people may struggle with the steps and dislike the small bathroom with just a curtain, no door.
Location is perfect and the sraff and facilities were amazing. Easy access to the beach and a quick walk to Mazunte for more dining or shopping options.
Nothing not to like.
It was accessible. With friendly and helpful staff and I liked that it wasn’t right on the beach but just a short walk from it
If you are older or have some walking difficulty it access to rooms and pool and dining area is though steep staircases
This is a beautiful property, very imaginatively and tastefully designed. The pool is small but lovely and it's a short walk to the beach. It's nice the property is set back from the beach so everything doesn't get sandy. My one quibble is that the breakfast could have been a bit more imaginative. It was fine, but if you are booking I'd suggest not including breakfast as there are lots of breakfast options nearby. A lovely place to stay.
Casa la Ola was perfect for our family of five. Great breakfasts. The view from our room was phenomenal and the pool was perfect after a hot day at the beach. They even have a small outdoor shower to wash off the sand before going to the pool or your room. They give u a few bottled waters every day and everyone’s very friendly. The beach is a quick walk (less than five mins away) and I’d take the view at Casa la Ola over being on the beach any day. There’s a small little market steps away and many great restaurants within a few blocks. You can also walk to Mazunte in about 15 mins if you want to check it out. Francisco and his team made our stay wonderful and we’d highly recommend it.

Schön angelegt, Lage unweit vom Stand, schöne Aussicht vom Zimmer
Amazing location and views over the ocean, but only 5 minutes walk away to fantastic beach and bars. Lovely staff.
The room was well laid out with lots of room, great artistic touches, and a beautiful view. Fantastic location
The breakfast was underwhelming
Location, views, room design, kind staff.
Breakfast was amazing!
The Wifi wasn't great but we had been warned that the Wifi in much of the area can be spotty.
Lots of stairs since the hotel is built on the side of a cliff
Bed was pretty comfortable.
This place was really overpriced for what you get. No garbage cans anywhere, no way to get in touch with anybody. I finally paid for the room my last day, but had to walk with somebody to a restaurant a few blocks away to charge my room. There were no services in the property. If you left the sliding window door open you heard the road.
Greatly located hotel with amazing view. The room is very big and the terrace with sea view is amazing . Also the bathroom is very big and good shower.
You could hear the road a little bit . Not that there is a lot of traffic , so this is a minor set back . We had some ants in the room , but that can happen when you are in nature and the hotel gave us some spray to solve the problem . So not really an issue
The room was very comfortable and clean. The view to the ocean was spectacular. We even could see whales “blowing.” The AC was perfect on hot afternoons, but there was also a screen door if one preferred fresh air. Easy walk to the beach, and lots of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was included and made to order, not a buffet. Staff was friendly and the room was cleaned daily.
The view
The stairs, You have to go down steep steps to get to registration, then up then again to get to your room,. No elevator. Also need to go up and down steps to get to street/beach. No coffee maker in the room,
The breakfast was quite good, as you could order from a menu; it wasn't just a fixed meal for everyone. The food was well prepared and portions were more than adequate! A bonus to the stay!
I liked everything.
We had an absolute pleasure to stay at Casa la Ola. All staff members were super friendly, the service was great. The Location was fantastic and the view wonderful!
Nice enough hotel with air con (rare in Agustinillo) and a pool, parking on site
A house is being built right next to the hotel and unfortunately our room faced it directly. As there are no windows (just blinds), we could hear all construction noises at all times, ranging from chainsaws, circular saws, hammers and loud music! Being woken up at 7.30am by a chainsaw is not pleasant... We complained to the hotel twice who said they would speak to the house owners, but they obviously didn't as the noises continued. The hotel did not offer to change our room nor did they offer a discount when I complained and prompted them for one. Also the hotel is NOT beachfront and you need to go down a quite few steps to reach the beach. Also beware that Agustinillo is very quiet and offers little choice in terms of bars and restaurants compared to Mazunte, with plenty being close at odd times. The town is dead after 9pm...
My husband and I stayed here for half of our wedding and I wish we had stayed at Casa La Ola the whole time. It was extraordinary! So gorgeous and comfortable and clean. The staff was so caring as well. Thank you!!!
There was nothing not to like.
The staff was super kind. They helped us to take the taxi to go to potchula. Breakfast was delicious and the room amazing We will repeat for sure
We have some aunts on our room but we think they might come bc we are in a very exotic place
Ideal location, fabulous views, large room, excellent facilities, delicious breakfasts prepared fresh daily
Lovely balcony with view of the bay
Nothing
We loved the view from our balcony and the small but cute pool area. The breakfast was simple but good, and the room was spotless. The bed was firm and we slept soundly every night. Great location.
The road is close, and you can hear traffic in the morning, but it wasn't a big issue, since most days we were out of the room early.
Beautiful view and the rooms were a little luxurious
The hotel only served breakfast and the added tax on arrival
We had an excellent stay, very friendly and helpful staff and the location was perfect
The location was fantastic high enough to have a great view of the beach and ocean but just a short distance on foot to the beach. Many good restaurants are nearby as well as a convenience store. The room istself is great with a lovely balcony, beautiful louver screen doors on the outside and glass slider doors inside for when the A/C is on. Those doors were constructed so well that it was as if they were not there. No obstruction of view. Ideal.
San Augustinillo is set at the base of a hill with a very narrow strip of flat land along the beach. Most buildings and this hotel are on the hillside. This makes for great views but also many stairs, not all of which have railings. If stairs are a problem, be sure to ask for a room on the parking level. The hotel is right on the coast road through town and even though the hotel rooms are above the road, the noise is still present. For the most part, it was not continuous or disturbing - big trucks and many motorcycles being the most noticible - and the sound of the waves was still audible, especially at night.
Incredible view and very close to the beach. Easy access to many good restaurants. Nice pool and spacious rooms.
Had such an amazing stay at Casa la Ola. The room and facilities exceeded our expectations. The staff were so helpful and friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Pool was great and the beach is only a 3 minute walk across the road. Plenty of nearby restaurants and shops either in San agustinillo or a quick walk over the hill in Mazunte. We hope to return soon! Muchas gracias a todos
Lovely boutique hotel in a great location. Close proximity to the beach and village of San Augustinillo (2-5 minute walk). 15 minute walk to Mazunte. The staff are friendly and attentive. Breakfast is great. Clean, stylish rooms with hooks to hang clothes and tables and shelving to keep belongings off the floor (something many hotels lack). Incredible view and enjoyable pool area. The architecture and layout of the property is very interesting...lots of stairs so you get a small workout going in and out.
There's no door to the bathroom (which we've encountered at other hotels in Mexico). It's not a deal breaker but something to consider, depending on who you're traveling with. The rooms are very nice and windows have these beautiful wood shutters, however if you use air conditioning you can't open the shutters to have natural sunlight as they are what seal the windows. Not a big deal and allowed us to take cool naps in the PM in the dark, but something to note. There are lots of stairs, so you get a small workout going in and out.
The room was charming and had an incredible view of the ocean. The air conditioner worked well and was necessary for the heat of the day. The room we received was on the side of the hotel which overlooked a road but provided us a private balcony. The staff was friendly and we were very happy with the included breakfast. Hearing the ocean from our room was amazing.
We didn’t like that there was no door for the bathroom (only a curtain). The room was a little worn - the screens had holes in them, the balcony doors didn’t line up evenly. The mattress was too firm.
The hotel rooms are beautiful and the view breathtaking. It’s very close to the beach (2-3 min walk). The AC works great and beds are comfortable. I was 26 weeks pregnant and the hotel kindly offered a free room upgrade so I would have to walk less stairs.
For breakfast you have to pick between some options on a menu and the general rule is 1 plate + a plate of fruit OR fruit juice + coffee or tea. I fully understand this greatly reduces food waste and fully support it compared to a buffet bar. But I felt we paid quite a good price for hotel + breakfast and felt it was a bit limiting for Mexican standards. I was also pregnant and very hungry so after some begging, the staff did give us a fruit plate AND fruit juice and a main but still, I would’ve preferred to be able to order more food since I didn’t really feel full.
Great views, friendly staff
2 min to the beach, 10 min walking to Mazunte, friendly staff, quiet room (we were on the end but it was still quiet, despite other reviews saying it wasn't for them), great view on the balcony
There's no door for the toilet (just the shower curtain) and it's open above (the walls don't go to the ceiling) - this could be weird if you're with friends, food is only offered for breakfast so you'll have to look for dinner in town (not a big deal), AC took a while to cool the room but the next day it was a lot better since we left everything closed, some bugs in the room
The room is very pretty with an amazing view of the sea. It is a short walk to an amazing beach. The pool area is very nice.
We changed rooms, the first room had no glass on the windows and we could not use the air conditioner so we changed to a more expensive room. We thought it was overpriced and the breakfast was average. The shower floods into the toilet and bathroom as the floor was flat. There was no door on the toilet.
Our room had an incredible view over the ocean and we could watch the waves in the morning. It was comfortable and the AC worked well. They provided us with chilled water every day. The staff were friendly and attentive. San A is a beautiful place to visit
We had a scorpion in our room one night, the duty member of staff quickly removed it. This seems normal locally but we hadn’t ever encountered one before. The staff were patient and helpful in removing it
