It has 5 rooms and even if you stay in the back it's just a short way through the kitchen to a fabulous outside deck. A great view over Lyttelton. Jenny and Frank do make an excellent job, it spotless clean and very well organized. The will even give you advices where to go and eat. Lyttelton has a lot of charme and the lodge is good for three days or more. Thank you Jenny and Frank, we will definitely come back. Die Harbour Lodge ist hervorragend. Sie hat 5 Zimmer und selbst, wenn sie in den hinten liegenden Zimmern übernachten ist es nur ein ganz kurzer Weg durch die Küche zu einer riesigen Veranda. Jenny und Frank sind tolle Gastgeber, es ist blitzblank und sie geben auch gerne Ratschläge für Lyttelton und seine Umgebung. Übernachten Sie mindestens drei Nächte es lohnt sich. Danke Jenny und Frank.
It's not a problem, it's only a challenge - the driveway to No. 1 is narrow. I liked it very much. Achtung: ganz Lyttelton liegt am Hügel, deshalb ist die Einfahrt zur Harbour ziemlich eng - mir hat es aber gefallen.

Reviewed Mar 13, 2026Absolutely stunning location, only 30 mins drive from Christchurch or you can head off round the peninsulas or down to the beach areas. Lyttelton is a working harbour with lots to see and a great little town if you like coffee culture. The house itself is the pride and joy of the hosts Jenny and Frank and this shows in the attention to detail throughout the property. We loved the gardens which overlook the harbour, and the BBQ area is the perfect evening sun trap. The large kitchen area is very well equipped if you wish to cook a meal, and tea, coffee, milk, cereals, biscuits are always available. When our flight home was cancelled Jenny and Frank were extremely helpful with contact details for local travel agents and we were also able to extend our stay by a few days which was much appreciated.

Their home is lovely with a great stocked kitchen(s), laundry, a couple common open sitting areas and spectacular views. There is a path of stairs down to town, making the elevations easier...a 6 or 7 minute walk. I highly recommend a stage at The Lodge.

But, the level of super helpful service and support by the owners was excellent - well beyond what we would normally expect from this kind of establishment. Super friendly and super helpful. We are very grateful. Facilities were well appointed, comfortable and convenient. The policy of limiting the total number of guests and providing a lot of space between rooms is a terrific idea. The shared facilities (kitchen etc) and both the inside and outside access to eating and sitting areas were excellent.
