We loved the amazing harbour views. Despite being on a busy corner the house was relatively quiet. Being high up on the side of the crater, the house had great views, but even so the walk into town was not onerous - walking into London Street (and the good coffee) only had a little bit of steep pathway. Even though it was proper winter - ice on the car in the morning - the house was toasty warm, and not dusty! Also it was free from hideous deodorizing sprays that can make b and bs very hard to stay at. It was so easy to self-cater - and manage our laundry with the euro laundry cupboard. We had such a lovely time venturing out from our home base and would recommend it for anyone. There is only one bathroom/toilet so you might need to travel with understanding roommates if you were a big group. It was perfect for us (2pp)
Perfect location
Loved everything
Views over the harbour and a great location. A very eclectic property that was comfortable and well appointed but there was a lot of traffic noise and was cluttered with too much stuff.
Amazing vista looking out over the harbour, with continuous views from the lounge and kitchen. Ecclective, collectors house with Parisian theme. Great shower and very hot water
Super clean throughout, interesting beautiful views, big kitchen, beds were comfortable
There was so much furniture and bricabrac it was difficult to use the spaces with ease
Views
Too much stuff, there was hardly any room to put our own things and felt overwhelming with so much clutter
Lovely views and spacious
Great location. Very helpful host.
The location was good, easy walking distance to Lyttleton town and the Farmers market on a Saturday morning. Easy walking distance to Ferry over to Quail Island. Walks are also close by if you wish to hike up to crater Rim. The apartment has a good view over the Port so good to watch the ships coming and going.
The apartment is between two busy noisy roads. It is well insulated but if you open the windows it is noisy. The roads quieten down at night so sleeping not a problem. There are a lot of antiques/curios in the apartment making it feel crowded.
Exceptionally well equipped and furnished home. Delightful. Hostess is a superb human and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent communication. The view is unbeatable and the location is faultless. Extremely highly recommended.
That I only booked for three nights.
The view was lovely, watched the sunrise over the harbour
The view is incredible! Walking distance to town for restaurants and shopping. I was worried at first that it might be a steep climb to town every day but it was so gradual, I didn't even notice it.
The furniture is more antique style so not necessarily the sink into it comfortable kind but it adds to the charm.
Spectacular view to the Lyttelton Harbour. Interesting and creative decoration in the house. I enjoyed my stay just relaxing and walking to the town centre and restaurants. Frances was lovely host and took care of my wishes.
There’s busy road just next to the terrace. If you’re sensitive to the noise, it might be disturbing. It wasn’t problem for me and bedroom was quiet.
I have been a fan of act. I have to say, this house is an masterpiece of art. You can feel the owner spend a lot of time and effects in every detail, every coner of the house. You are not only spend a night for a simple stay but also an amazing visit to a art museum. If one day, i am going to build my own house for my wife, i will consult with the house owner. Trust me it is much worthwhile than you think.
Lovely little cottage overlooking a small marina and working harbour. We enjoyed the views and location very much. Great walking distance to Lyttleton village where we enjoyed markets, delicious food and great drinks.
Just a small caution to those who might mind that the cottage is on a busy corner - with tanker trucks driving to and from the port. The cottage is however well insulated but sitting outside in the lovely garden might be an issue for some.
Very fun and quirky house, nice and warm and wonderful views
There is a car park for a small car might be a bit hard if I was driving the van.
The host was exceptional and very helpful on suggestions on what to see and do. the location and balcony were great.
From the moment we arrived at this charming house, we knew we were in for a treat. The three days we spent here were nothing short of magical. View: Each morning, we were greeted by breathtaking views that seemed to have leapt out of a postcard. Whether it was sipping coffee as the sun rose or unwinding in the evening with a glass of wine, the scenery was a constant source of awe and tranquility. Cleanliness: The cleanliness of the house was impeccable. Every nook and cranny was spotlessly clean, creating a comfortable and hygienic environment. It's evident that the hosts take great pride in maintaining the property to the highest standards. Basic Amenities: The house was equipped with all the basic amenities we could ask for, and then some. The kitchen was well-stocked, the bathroom essentials were of high quality, and the living spaces were cozy and well-furnished. The attention to detail in ensuring our comfort was truly appreciated. In summary, our stay was a delightful experience. The combination of the stunning views, pristine cleanliness, and well-thought-out amenities made our three-day getaway an unforgettable one. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for the hospitality.
Great views of the working harbour, comfortably furnished with everything you could need, friendly host who made us feel welcome with a glass of champagne on arrival, allowing us to park in her driveway & booking us a great table for dinner at the local seafood restaurant.
Frances is an exceptional host who wants her guests stay to be perfect in every way. Frances is considerate and an absolute pleasure to have as a host. Frances' warmth encourages you to feel right-at-home and her garden is beautiful.
Everything . Frances is so nice, humble and friendly. Even she make cake for us. She is very lovely. Will come back again with Big Family.

Location great, views great, well appointed
car park was well away from house
Fantastic location, a hive of activity to watch from the veranda. Short walk to cafes and shops. Easy drive to Christchurch town centre.
Location ,quirky
Nothing
Not quite what we expected .. lovely property, spotlessly clean, good location, good facilities e.g. fully equipped kitchen, nicely decorated But small room and noisy doing the day. also more lodgings than B&B with the owner sharing the communal space We paid for the two nights but stayed elsewhere Probably absolutely fine for others but not quite right for use, our fault really as it was our last two nights in lovely NZ and so should have booked something more appropriate
Upon arriving I was greeted with excellent hospitality. An extremely beautiful home and an awe inspiring view that you can stare at for hours. Town is well within walking distance and offers plenty of bars and restaurants. Uber also offers cheap rides into Christchurch city if needed.
Beautiful place to stay. Great views across the harbour and close to amenities. Eclectic assortment of stuff. Very homely. Good communication - easy and effective. Would definitely recommend.
