Amazing Kiwi Lodge

The unit was cosy and warm for a winter break. The sunny deck was an abosolute pleasure for coffee and lunch with friends. Our hosts, Claire and Ralph were amazing and could not have done more for us.

A tricky driveway but care needed

The bed is really comfortable. Clare the hosts attention to detail to amazing, loved the little touches. It was a lovely quite get away from the city.

Location suited very well. A 15 minute walk to all town facilities. A good view of the golf course and the property's well kept gardens.

Location, while not far out of town, required a vehicle to get to restaurants and the beach.

Road noise

Ralph and Clare were amazing hosts. They have a beautiful property that is equipped very well with units that are bigger than the norm. We lacked for nothing and appreciated all the extras we were offered including using their swimming pool and spa pool.

There was a little bit of traffic noise but nothing that would stop us from returning. Everything else more than made up for this!

Advertised as ‘spa & wellness center’. It’s actually a hot tub/jacuzzi shared with other guests and property owners. (Same with the pool) Car required as it’s out of town.

The owners were very helpful and kind. I have issues with my mobility and they assissted me when needed. I loved the swimming pool and spa and it was close to town and very quiet.

I love how we were greeted by the hosts they were a really lovely couple, Claire & Ralph absolutely lovely people.

There’s was nothing wrong with the property, it was beautiful tidy, clean.

Perfect unit for a weekend away. Clare was so lovely and gave great local recommendations for my stay. The place was super clean and cute. Awesome facilities including the pool and spa. Great value for money. I will definitely be returning again!

A lovely place to stay. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable with a great hostess Clare. She showed us where to go, loaned us spades for Hot Water Beach and was incredibly welcoming. The hot tub and pool were an absolute bonus and we were even provided with beach towels and robes. We also appreciated the fruit, milk and cereal that were left for us. A 10 out of 10 stay for us.

We were greeted by Clare and Ralph, who gave us a tour of the property. It is a beautiful setting, and they have done a stunning job of the gardens and native bush planting. The unit was immaculate and had everything you needed, including a lot of nice little special touches like milk and juice in the fridge, and fresh fruit, oatmeal packs, and cornflakes on the bench. The unit also has netflix streaming if you like that. The bed is very comfortable which was nice. The spa pool and swimming pool were fantastic, and it was nice to relax in the spa under the stars after a walk to Wentworth Falls (Clare's recommendation - which was a highlight). We even had a cold plunge dip at the base of the falls. Fantastic weekend all around. Thanks, Clare 🙂

The bed is comfortable than other places we booked during the holiday. Wifi speed is fast. Spa is wonderful. Clare and Ralph were very friendly and introduced some delicious local restaurants. We had a great time at there

The studio unit was private but has good access to the owner's facilities like the spa and the pool. We were given a BBQ set for our cooking in front of the unit, which was just great! The surroundings have a mature and immaculate garden. Claire and Ralph were welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend my friends to stay here at Whangamata.

I think you should maybe install a fan in the bathroom as its very close to the bedroom and The sign could be a bit larger indicating where you are.

The space is clean, organized, and thoughtfully designed, making it both functional and comfortable. The natural lighting and overall ambiance create a warm, our host Clare and Ralph are welcoming feel. Additionally, the pool and spa are definitely the highlights! It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into maintaining the property , and it definitely stands out!.

"Overall, the property is great, and we especially loved the pool and spa. However, we think the bed was too soft and might have at least bed frame for our preference. Aside from that, everything else was well-maintained, and we had an excellent stay."

In a great location. Comfortable, modern and well equipped studio. We loved the hot tub and pool. Very friendly and helpful hosts, providing good advice on places to visit, and restaurants. Very private.

The Kiwi King studio was spacious and comfortable with a lovely walk-in tiled shower. The unit had a convenient kitchenette with all the appliances that we needed.

We felt that it was a little awkward walking past the owners living area to access the pool area.

It sure is an Amazing Kiwi Lodge 🦋 Everything was perfect, so nice and clean. Pool was lovely to swim in. Cute little patio outside the lodge, very private and safe. Owners Clare and Ralph were super friendly, made us feel welcomed. 🌱

Clare was a welcoming hostess. Everything was neat and tidy. Fresh linen and towels. Loved the proximity to Whangamata town centre. Felt like I was out in the country though.

Only gripe was the traffic noise from the highway.

Absolutely loved how clean and cozy the space was. The owners were so welcoming and helpful and I also liked how it’s tucked away from the main road in a beautiful little oasis.

Absolutely lovely hosts! The studio was gorgeous, wonderful front deck to relax with my book and snacks. Close to town, easily accessible. Pool and spa were added bonuses!

Nice spacious studio which was very clean and comfortable. Easy parking right out the front. Use of the hot tub and access to the pool was great, and pool towels were available to use. Our hosts were friendly and gave us some good tips about what to do and see.

Everything was really great. The only thing that would make it better would be to have the use of an electric induction plate or similar to be able to make different meals but we just used the microwave which did the job.

Loved the position of the place and our little apartment was clean and comfy and had everything we needed. A bonus was the spa pool and swimming pool we highly enjoyed. There were many beautiful beaches nearby too.

A couple of options to consider: An umbrella Pair of scissors as coffee didn't rip open an nothing to open it with Couch could perhaps be updated The only other thing for others to be aware of is the location relative to exit/entry to the property on a blind corner. Navigating at peak times with expected 100,000 people over summer time may be a challenge

We stayed there for 2 nights and Clare made us feel very welcome and suggested good place to eat and things to do while in Whangamata. The location is close to the beach and restaurants. The room and spa was immaculately clean. Indeed it was a very pleasant stay

Lovely peaceful location and surroundings with a beautiful pool and spa pool to use. Comfortable bed and nice decor. Claire the host was so friendly and helpful.

The propoerty is just outside Whangamata, probaby too far to walk into town but an easy cycle. The rooms were self contained chalets with bathrooom and a little seating area outside, all nicely done. No views from the rooms but a quiet and pleasant aspect to the seating area. There is a fabulous jacuzzi (spa) available to guests and a decent sized pool with nice views over the golf course. The hosts are really friendly and willing to help with advice and tips. The room came with an expresso maker and fresh milk and biscuits. You can have breakfast brought to the room, really good quality and reasonably priced. We liked it!

If you want great views from your room and a large bathroom and bath (it's a shower) then this doesn't have it but it more than makes up for it in other ways.
